The Sounders are back from preseason in Spain and ready to begin a gauntlet of a season. Co-hosts Brad Evans and Steve Zakuani begin by looking back at some preseason results, and commend Craig Waibel, Brian Schmetzer and staff for putting together a roster with depth all around the pitch. And it's a good thing given the congested upcoming schedule: scrimmage vs Louisville on the 12th, CONCACAF Champions Cup vs Antigua on February 19th (away) and February 26th (home)... not to mention MLS play kicks off on February 22nd when the Rave Green host Charlotte FC. Phew.Have questions for Brad and Steve? Leave a voicemail at 206-867-8545 for a chance to get your voice on the show!

Lots of news to cover on this week's edition of the Sounders FC PodCast, and co-hosts Brad Evans and Steve Zakuani dive right in. Former FC Dallas and stalwarts of the US Men's National Team will now wear the Rave Green this season: forward Jesus Ferreira and midfielder Paul Arriola. Paul joins the pod to talk about his career and move to Seattle -- and fans will love his desire to win trophies. In other news, Sounders FC and Japanese club Vissel Kobe are renewing a partnership that goes back 30 years. Both clubs will collaborate in several ways, including player development, scouting and squad management, and more. Have questions for Brad and Steve? Leave a voicemail at 206-867-8545 for a chance to get your voice on the show!
Happy 2025! The Sounders FC PodCast is back and just in time, as the Rave Green have already made some big roster moves. First, a blockbuster trade for Jesus Ferreira, adding a premier MLS goal-scorer to the roster. And not to be outdone, the Sounders also re-signed club stalwarts Albert Rusnak and JP. Co-hosts Steve Zakuani and Brad Evans break it all down.
The Sounders FC Podcast Presented by Toyota is back after a week hiatus, and a week to let the results of the 2024 season sink in. Co-hosts Steve Zakuani and Brad Evans recap the Rave Green's loss to LA Galaxy in the WCF before switching gears to next season. With preseason on the horizon, the Club World Cup draw in the books, and roster decisions being made in real-time, you won't want to miss any of the action as the Sounders prepare for what's sure to be an exciting 2025.
It's Episode 338. Somewhat surprisingly and certainly prematurely, this will be the last episode that contains an LAFC game recap in 2024, as the Black and Gold fall to the Rave Green, 2-1, at BMO in the Western Conference Semifinals. It was a heartbreaking loss, especially because LAFC had played well enough to win and created enough chances to score. The soccer gods, however, are a fickle bunch, and, in this year's playoffs, aging goalkeepers seem to have curried their favor. Stefan Frei stood on his head, making three incredible saves on would-be sure goals, Maxime Chanot found the back of our net, and Jordan Morris found one late to eliminate LAFC. Yes, questions abound. And yes, we ask many of them here on 338. However, this isn't a full post-mortem, as that will come later in the offseason. This episode truly was a venting session, a stage in the grieving process. You want Dolo out? Pissed at JT and the FO? Do you feel the same way Scarf does about Olivier Giroud? All of that was fair game on this one, as this can be your safe space, too. Like we said, we will attempt to ask and answer many of the larger questions at a later date this year. Also on this episode, Filly talks like a parrot, Scarf answers the door, and we search for Carlos Vela. This isn't goodbye for 2024 yet, but it's at least goodbye for Episode 338!

Hello Colorado Rapids fans. Welcome to Holding The High Line with Rabbi and Red. This week on the podcast, we have a requested banter topic to discuss which Rapids players are the biggest thirst traps. We review the draw against Seattle Sounders. Did Djordje Mihailovic play well even with the missed penalty? Why isn't the team pressing and playing with intensity well? How did they outplay Rave Green and was it too easy? We've got answers to these questions and thoughts on Cole Bassett, Oliver Larraz, and Lamine Diack. Then we preview Houston Dynamo. They've got injuries and an exciting Colorado native. They finally won an MLS game over the weekend. Concacaf Champions Cup hangover? Is Benny Ball experiencing a sophomore slump? We also discuss Colorado Rapids 2 playing in the 2024 Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup. We preview their match against Azteca FC and the roster rules that could see Homegrowns and draft picks get minutes.
Hello Colorado Rapids fans! How about that win in the Rocky Mountain Cup?! Holding The High is back with good vibes. We banter about Oliver Larraz maybe getting a nickname and the USWNT winning the Concacaf W Gold Cup. The Great Horan was great. Then we break down that win over Real Salt Lake. We discuss the bad start, Jasper Löffelsend subbing on for an injured Connor Ronan, Cole Bassett and Rafael Navarro scoring, and the defense seeing out a result let by Moïse Bombito. Zack Steffen is making big saves. Oli Larraz is making progress but still has room to grow. What about Djordje Mihailović and Omir Fernandez? Also did the Rapids poop-house RSL and in doing so give them a taste of their own medicine? We discuss all this and more. During the show, news breaks that Ralph Priso might be on his way to Vancouver Whitecaps. We analyze Priso's disappointing time in Burgundy and what this trade would mean. Then we preview Seattle Sounders on Saturday. It's an afternoon kickoff with Rave Green well rested. We talk Pedro de la Vega, intensity, Jordan Morris, and the Roldan brothers on the same flank. Lastly, we take your questions. Are we more or less optimistic on the season than we were three weeks ago? Where does Bombi rank on all time draft picks? Can the Rapids renegotiate the purchase option on Navarro? You've got questions, we've got answers. Also, here's Red's sicko article on every player who's played for RSL and Colorado.

St. Louis City SC came at the kings and they missed - big time. The latest to game the throne were flying high coming into the matchup with the Rave Green sporting a 5-1 record, 1st place in the West and sitting above the Sounders. Seattle pulled STL back to earth behind Josh Atencio's first MLS goal (a golazo/a banger/a wonderstrike/rightfully Goal of the Week) and left the visitors wondering what happened after that 3-0 rinsing. Raul Ruidiaz came off the bench and quickly doubled the lead leaving Brian Schmetzer some more sleepless night ahead of the Portland matchup.
