Tottenham Hotspur have officially concluded an incredibly explosive Summer 2026 Transfer Window under manager Roberto De Zerbi. Facing a massive squad rebuild following a challenging prior season, Spurs committed an eye-watering £394M in direct transfer outlays (with bills hitting up to £419M including loan options) while recouping around £264M through departures. We debate the business Spurs completed throughout the window including the deadline-day signings of Mykhailo Mudryk and defender Tosin Adarabioyo from Chelsea on transfer deadline day. Mudryk joins Spurs on loan until the end of the season while 28-year-old centre-back Adarabioyo has completed a permanent move worth up to £12m to the north London side. He will replace Kevin Danso at Spurs following the Austria international's loan move to Sunderland. As part of the agreement, Spurs have the option to turn Mudryk's move permanent for £75m. The move reunites the Ukraine international, 25, with Spurs boss Roberto de Zerbi, who was his manager at Shakhtar Donetsk before his move to Chelsea in 2023. Elsewhere on deadline-day Japan international Kota Takai went on a season-long loan to Belgian top-flight side Sint-Truidense. Midfielder Pape Matar Sarr has joined Juventus on a season-long loan, with the Serie A side having the option to make the move permanent next summer. Academy graduate Dane Scarlett also left the club to join League One side Leyton Orient on a permanent deal. WEBSITE: www.lastwordonspurs.com #THFC #TOTTENHAM #SPURS Learn more about your ad choices. Patrick and Ted wrap up the entire summer transfer window, going club by club through who actually improved their squad, who overpaid, and who's already in trouble two games into the season. Chelsea spent over 400 million and still turned a profit, while Spurs spent a fortune on players Ted and Patrick mostly like and still can't win a game. Man City loaded up on midfielders, Liverpool came away with real gaps after missing on several targets including a late run at Cody Gakpo, and Arsenal ended the window looking like the team nobody actually caught. They also work through the promoted clubs, the windows that missed completely, and the few teams who found real value shopping outside the usual markets. Dotun and Tim are joined by WFPI debutant Joseph O'Sullivan to talk about the summer transfer window, rumours of Vini Jr's move to Arsenal - and is Michael Caine too old for the Italian Job? Tim and Joseph play travel guide for Dean in London who's off to Latin America soon.
Fresh off their 11-city Breakaway Tour, Christian Polanco and Alexis Guerreros return to the studio to process the post-World Cup soccer landscape. Christian kicks off the episode with an unbelievable travel horror story about a chaotic flight delay from Miami to Dallas involving an intoxicated passenger, an unruly accusation, and an emergency flight attendant swap. The hosts then dive into a blueprint for the future, detailing radical ways to overhaul US Soccer and turn the USMNT into legitimate contenders for the 2030 World Cup—from ending pay-to-play under Arsène Wenger and merging CONCACAF with CONMEBOL to creating a 50-state "States Cup" tournament. Next, the guys welcome USMNT midfielder Tyler Adams for an exclusive, wide-ranging interview. Tyler breaks his silence on the team's World Cup exit against Belgium, setting the record straight on what really went down in camp when Folarin Balogun's red card suspension was rescinded 20 hours before kickoff. He reflects on Mauricio Pochettino's front-foot tactical philosophy, reveals why Pochettino declaring he "wished he was American" after singing Country Roads was his favorite team memory, and details his ongoing community mini-pitch initiative with Allstate. Finally, the hosts analyze the summer transfer window frenzy and critique the latest kit drops across world football. They break down major moves including Morgan Rogers' £117M transfer to Chelsea, Anthony Gordon joining Barcelona, Robert Lewandowski signing with the Chicago Fire, and Casemiro's move to Inter Miami amid LA Galaxy discovery-rights drama. They close out the show with a look at Manchester City and Real Madrid's roster overhauls, Sebastian Berhalter's transfer to Middlesbrough, and a fashion breakdown of the best and worst jerseys of the season.
