Jimmy Conrad, Charlie Davies, and Marcelo Balboa are back to unpack a jam-packed weekend on both sides of the Atlantic. After missing the USMNT's November friendlies, Christian Pulisic returned in style, delivering the winning goal in the Milan derby (07:31). The guys debate a big question facing Mauricio Pochettino: Who's the ideal partner for Pulisic in a dual No. 10 setup: Gio Reyna or Malik Tillman (10:15)? The crew digs into the coaching carousel. With Wilfried Nancy emerging as a leading candidate for the Celtic job, can he translate his success with Columbus Crew to one of Europe's most pressure-packed environments (23:55)? And does LAFC have the right succession for life after Steve Cherundolo (29:17)? The guys tip their cap to USL champions Pittsburgh Riverhounds (44:55). Then it's on to the MLS Cup Playoffs: after gutsy semifinal performances from San Diego, Vancouver, and NYCFC, the question remains: can anyone stop Lionel Messi and Inter Miami (48:11)? We break down a packed weekend across the soccer world:
Send us a textLAFC's 2025 run comes to an end in the Western Conference Semis. Battling back from down 2-0, LAFC leveled things at the death with an incredible free-kick strike from Son Heung-min. Despite the Whitecaps going down to 10 men, and then 9, LAFC's chances either connected with the woodwork or went wide. The match would be lost in penalties, as both Sonny and Mark Delgado missed their chances and LAFC fell on kicks, 4-3. The Steve Cherundolo era is officially over.
It's over. In a match that mirrored our season, the team had a first half to forget, and a superhero named Son Heung-min who turned things around in the second half and made us believe in miracles. Unfortunately it wasn't enough, and PKs went to Vancouver. Not to be outdone, we decided that maybe if we livestream long enough, we can change reality. In the end, our own extra time meant nothing. But it was still a good time.
