Odufa tells the story of two young adults who are deeply in love. Anthony, a young poet who relies heavily on his family for financial support, falls in love with Odufa, an older lady. Their relationship blossoms into a lovely romance. Despite being in love, Anthony is concerned about his health. What good would it be to marry a lovely soul if he couldn't father a child? His constant worry about his hypertensive heart disease, low sperm count, and high blood pressure allows the beast within him to flourish. This Episode was inspired by the book 'Purple Hibiscus' written by Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie. It a Young Adult Fiction rich in informing, educating and entertaining the readers. A tragicomedy in my opinion because the plot had less comic scenes. The major themes in this book include: Domestic Violence, Parental Disciplines, Religion and Coming of Age. I decided to talk about the theme 'Parental Disciplines' as written in the book because, i feel this is quite relatable. Follow my instagram page @_thebookwormpodcast to see what the paperback looks like. Don't forget to send in your voice messages on anchor and dms on Instagram to share your opinion concerning this topic. I will be waiting!
This episode is inspired by the book 'The Secret Dreamworld of a Shopaholic' authored by Sophie Kinsella. This book is very much relatable as not many people know how to and when to shop. Many of us do not know how to manage our finances and this is the major reason we are broke and heavily in debt.
This is not a review and this is not spoiler free!!! This topic is inspired by the book 'The Secret Lives of Baba Segi's Wives' By Sola Shoneyin.
