In February of 2000, tonight's guest, Anita Tallbl, was spending a night out with two friends of hers, Manny and Tess, when she had her first Sasquatch sighting. You see, when Anita had that first sighting, she was sitting in the back of Manny's car, with Tess, about 200 yards from Tess' property. To Anita's surprise, she saw two Sasquatch crossing the road in front of Manny's car. One of the Sasquatch was black and the other one was a brownish/red color. That experience took Anita from having a very mild interest in the Sasquatch phenomenon to being very interested in finding out all she could about them. On tonight's show, Anita will not only share the details of that first sighting, she's going to share the details of other sightings and experiences she's had with them as well. In May of 2023, Crystal was sitting at a traffic light, near a well-known landmark in Pennsylvania, when she had a Sasquatch sighting. The landmark is called Horseshoe Curve. Horseshoe Curve is a winding series of curves, bridges, and tunnels that a railroad track winds through and over, near Altoona, Pennsylvania. Crystal had been in that area numerous times, going for hikes and doing various other things. Never, though, had she ever seen anything out of the ordinary. Humans have a long history of partnerships with a variety of micro organisms. Although the proportions vary widely with individuals, recent scientific estimates suggest that a typical human being has approximately the same number of bacteria and other microbes as they do actual human cells. Now it appears that a partnership with yeast and algae will enable spacefaring humans to use their waste products to produce food and plastics during long duration space flights. Dr. Mark Blenner of Clemson University leads a research group developing strains of yeast which obtain their nitrogen from untreated urine and their carbon dioxide from exhaled breath or the Martian atmosphere which has been converted into yeast food by algae. One of Blenner's yeast strains produces omega-3 fatty acids which are essential for heart, eye, and brain health while another strain of yeast has been engineered to produce polyester polymers which could be used by 3D printers to produce plastic tools and other useful devices. In the future research Blenner's team will focus on increasing the output of these tiny beasts to the point that they will generate useful amounts of nutrients and plastics from astronaut's waste products. This new research when added to the fact that on the International Space Station space travelers now routinely drink recycled water from their urine, sweat, and showers moves us closer to the day when space travelers literally use and reuse every atom that they lift from the Earth's surface enabling journeys that may last for years. The flip side of our partnership with microorganisms is that it is extremely difficult to protect the worlds we explore from a microorganism invasion which would threaten their home grown biology.

While we refer to a few books in the discussion that follows, this discussion with my dear old friend Albert Lerman is primarily about his experience as an 18 year old infantryman in World War II. And when I say old friend, I really mean it. Albert turned 100 earlier this year and Albert's son Bill, a dear and old friend as well, suggested that it would be timely to have this discussion. Albert was a grunt in the Army, an infantryman, tough, resilient, essential,  the backbone of the army, and part of The Greatest Generation.Carol and I have known and loved Albert for more than 50 years, and he's exemplified The Greatest Generation his entire life.  I'm so pleased to have had this discussion with Albert and Bill. (U.S. forces met allied Russian forces at the Elbe River in Germany on April 25, 1945, effectively splitting Nazi Germany in half and symbolizing the imminent end to the war.  In the picture above, Albert is the grunt with the cigarette in his mouth greeting Russian soldiers at the Elbe.)Albert discusses the drafting of the entire freshman and sophomore classes from Penn into the Army gearing up to fight the war; the hell of war for the soldiers (“you know, the guy beside you, all of a sudden, he ain't alive anymore. Revelation chapters 12-14 pull back the curtain on spiritual warfare, revealing truths that shape our daily existence whether we realize it or not. We encounter a cosmic drama: a woman giving birth to a child destined to rule the nations, a dragon waiting to devour that child, and a war in heaven resulting in Satan's defeat and expulsion. This isn't ancient mythology—it's the unseen reality behind Jesus's birth, death, resurrection, and ascension. The dragon, identified as Satan, the ancient serpent and deceiver, has lost his place as accuser before God's throne. Because of Christ's sacrifice, those who believe in Jesus are declared righteous, leaving Satan with no grounds for accusation. Yet he hasn't surrendered; instead, he's redirected his fury toward us—the offspring of the woman, all who follow Christ. The passage introduces us to counterfeit religion through the imagery of beasts: a counterfeit trinity that mimics Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, demanding worship and marking followers. This is where we discover that Satan's primary weapons are accusation and deception, deployed through counterfeits—taking good gifts God intended for us and twisting them just enough to draw us away from Him. Love becomes lust, work becomes idolatry, and truth becomes almost-truth. The call for us is patient endurance, holding fast to the blood of the Lamb and the word of our testimony, valuing the gospel even above our own lives. There is no neutral ground in this spiritual battle—we're either marked by the Lamb or marked by the beast, living in one story or the other.

We find ourselves in the middle of a cosmic battle that has been raging since the beginning of time, and Revelation 12-14 pulls back the curtain to reveal the origin story of our own lives. This passage shows us a woman clothed with the sun, a dragon waiting to devour her child, and ultimately the birth of the Messiah who defeats Satan not through military might but through sacrificial love. The dragon is cast out of heaven, not because of our strength, but because of Christ's victory on the cross. What makes this so powerful for us today is the realization that we don't fight for victory, we fight from victory. The battle has already been won. When we face accusations, when life feels impossibly hard, when evil seems relentless, we overcome the same way Jesus did: by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of our testimony. This isn't just ancient history or future prophecy; this is the reality of our daily existence. We are marked by God, sealed by His Spirit, and no matter what beasts or empires demand our allegiance, we belong to the One who has already crushed the serpent's head. The question becomes: whose mark do we bear? Are we living as practical atheists, trusting in human ingenuity and progress, or are we following the Lamb wherever He goes?

There are verses in The Book of Revelation that have baffled so many for centuries. David Belford lives on a 22-acre property that is forested and mountainous, in West Virginia. He's had two Sasquatch sightings and both of them happened while he was on his property. He's also a team member of the WV Case Bigfoot Collective. That's a Sasquatch investigation team that an investigator named Les O'Dell created. Dave has been into Bigfooting for 10 years or more. What sparked his interest in Sasquatch was a documentary he saw that featured Dr. Jeffery Meldrum. When Dave had his first sighting, in June of last year, he was taking his dog, Ted, out at 3 AM. Bryan is an avid kayaker and camper who lives in Central Iowa. Bryan spends as much of his free time as possible enjoying the great outdoors. Unfortunately, he had an experience, in May or June of 2016, that tarnished his love of being in the great outdoors. When he had that experience, he and 13 of his friends were kayaking down the Middle Racoon River. Some of them were very experienced at kayaking, others were novices. The group was approaching a place in the river that could be dangerous for novice kayakers, so Bryan and his good friend, Mark, decided to paddle ahead so they could stand on a sandbar that would allow them to watch the novices navigate that dangerous stretch of the river. Before Bryan and Mark made it to that sandbar, however, a rock the size of a softball hit the water inches from Mark's kayak. Thomas Shay is the founder of the Northern Kentucky Bigfoot Research Group. Tom has been investigating the Sasquatch phenomenon since 1987. That's when he had his first Sasquatch-related experience. You see, in 1987, Tom was heading to see his girlfriend, in Carlton, Kentucky, on US 36, when he had his first sighting. It was 85 degrees out, that day, so Tom was surprised when he saw what he, at first, thought was a man in a fur coat, on the side of the highway. As he got closer, he slowed down to a very slow speed and slowly went past the subject. After creeping by the subject, he felt like he didn't get a good enough look at it, so he turned his car around, parked it on the side of the road, and got out so he could follow the subject down into a field. Moments later, Tom realized that was a poor decision. From that day on, Tom tried to learn all he could about Sasquatch. Dusty Ruth is the leader of BFRO expeditions in Ohio. He's also an investigator for the Northern Kentucky Bigfoot Research Group. As you can imagine, Dusty has spent untold hours in the field, on Sasquatch investigations. Of all the experiences he's had, in the field, the 3 sightings he's had are, understandably, the most memorable ones. Dusty had his first sighting in 2019, while he was on an outing with the BFRO, in Ohio. That sighting was the first of two sightings he's had through a thermal vision device, at night. After he had those two sightings, he had a daytime sighting. When he had that daytime sighting, he saw the Sasquatch without the help of any technology. He saw it with his unaided eyes. Gene Brock is an archaeologist who also has a degree in Anthropology. Gene decided to major in archaeology and minor in anthropology due to an experience he had when he was 13 or 14 years old.
