My guest today on the Online for Authors podcast is Karina Kantas, author of the book Illusional Reality (Duology). Karina is the bestselling author of 14 titles covering most fiction genres, including thriller novels and young adult fiction, many of which have won awards. She's also an award-winning filmmaker and has won numerous awards for her documentary and short films at International Film Festivals. (You can find them in the Trophy Room.) She's also a BookTuber, podcaster and radio host and runs Author Assist to help independent authors with promoting and marketing their books. In my book review, I stated Illusional Reality (Duology) is the two-book fantasy romance series. Both books start on earth but quickly take us to an enchanted realm in which Becky is known as Thya and happens to be a princess. Her parents, the rulers at her birth, whisked her away to earth to keep her safe. But now it is time for her to return and save Tsinia from the evil prince bent on domination. Becky turned Thya has to figure out a new world, the laws that govern the land, an unusual way of speaking, and her own magical abilities - plus her attraction to someone she is forbidden to love. The book moves quickly and kept me guessing at what would happen next. And although the ending of book two (The Quest) wrapped up nicely, Karina left room for more. Who knows! It's called "Butch" by Jay Rayn. It's a "life story thus far" type of book about a butch woman who constantly ights discrimination in the most cartoonish ways possible and romances just about every woman she meets. I'm 99% sure this is just a veiled attempt at rewriting her own biography by the author. Maybe this can be a fresh bad taste for your reading palate. The 9th Colony by Colin Curtis was vanity published through AuthorHouse UK in February of 2023. We received an email from a podcast PR rep asking us to have the author on the show as a guest. We don't have authors on the show, but we get a lot of these emails because some PR companies just send blanket form emails without actually having any idea what the podcasts or other entities they're contacting actually do. Normally we just skim and delete, but this one caught our eye because it suggested that Mr. Curtis had expertise in the science of human evolution and space exploration and would talk about "the evolution debate". Considering the book was only 128 pages, it seemed worth a read and review for us this year. Disclaimer: Most of this year's episodes were pre-recorded many months in advance. This week, we discuss our experience reading Golden (The Golden Wolf Series Book 1) by Shannon Mayer at the request of our Patron Robin. Robin said, “It looks truly abysmal. No importa tu nivel de habilidad, tienes mas potencial del que jamas podrás desarrollar en tu vida entera. Elimina TODO lo que no conduce a la meta, ignóralo.HAZ LAS PASES CON EL HECHO DE QUE NUNCA VAS A ESTAR 100% AL DIASIEMPRE VAS A TENER COSAS POR HACER y esto no lo dice el libro pero los sistemas tienden a desorganizarse, tu tienes que invertir energía para organizarlos. Nunca hay suficiente tiempo para hacer todo lo que tienes que hacer o lo que quieres hacer, así  que has las paces con eso.
