Thanks to some big name athletes stepping up and telling their stories, we're finally having conversations about mental health for athletes … but there are so many stories you don't hear.  Our guest in this episode has battled more off the court than on it.  He's not homeless, but was without a home, had a tough upbringing, and has had to work on himself more than even he realized … but out of it he's also an NBA 2K League champion and, thanks to the league, has found a family ... literally.  It's time to meet Idris.

TYPE was part of the original 102 from the first ever draft class and a defensive player of the year candidate in 2019.  He's undoubtedly one of the most dominant centers in the league and while nobody doubts his talent, he's also arguably been the most dynamic player without a permanent home.  Despite his stick skills, he's found himself on three different teams in four seasons, including an up-and-down stint with Hornets Venom GT last year which saw him famously serve a lengthy suspension … furthering clouding his legacy.  Many thought an off-season move to powerhouse Raptors Uprising would allow him to shine on a winning program …but that plan has fallen flat this year, with Toronto holding down last place in the Eastern Conference.  There's a lot to unpack here so let's get into it with S2 E3 of The Official NBA 2K League Podcast!
