Kings are now streaking as they win their 5th game in a row. The first win against in Chase was an impressive demolishing of the Warriors on the road. They led the entire game and ended up controlling the game and leading by double digits from the 2nd quarter and on. The Kings played free and their defense was very solid all night, it really showed them rounding into form under Coach Doug Christie. The next night was also a spectacle, the Kings traveled back to the G1C to face the Heat, and it was great. The Kings fell down big in the 4th but were able to come back down 17 to win in double OT with everyone on the Kings making plays to bring the Kings to victory. Back To The Grind 01/06/25It was a weekend that saw the Pittsburgh Penguins visit the defending Stanley Cup Champions in Florida, then a team, in the Canes, who perennially gives the Pens fits - especially when the matchup happens on the road in Raleigh. On one hand, the song remained the same in that Pittsburgh put a great game on the ice against the Cats, essentially stealing a point against a first-class Florida lineup. On the other hand, the Penguins proceeded to do one of the things they do best: They blew (another) 2-goal lead against a divisional rival. After a great multi-goal first period in North Carolina, the Pens seemed to doze their way through the second frame and found themselves trailing after forty minutes. Another consolation point was salvaged, thanks to a late-game tally from Erik Karlsson, but neither players nor coach were left with a good taste in their mouths. The first bowl win was sweet but it's even better to go back to back bowl wins. We reminisced about the trip to Myrtle Beach via Charleston, discussed UTSA's dominance over an under-manned Coastal Carolina team, and gush about the recent dominance from the UTSA women's basketball team.

The boys are back from Christmas break with a fresh episode of Oilersnation Radio, recapping the holiday and getting everyone ready for tomorrow's matchup between the Edmonton Oilers and the Los Angeles Kings. On this week's show, the guys discussed the Christmas break, the Oilers' schedule, playoff races, and a whole lot more.The Friday episode of Oilersnation Radio kicked off with a delicious debate about the Pacific Division standings and, specifically, how everyone would feel about another playoff matchup against the L.A. Kings. Even though we're still a long way from the end of the season, Edmonton/Los Angeles would be the first-round matchup if the playoffs started today.Next, we looked back on Edmonton's very strong December, which led to the conversation about whether this is the standard we should expect going forward. Even if you don't expect the Oil to win 11 of every 13 games they play, what everyone agreed on is that no one should be surprised by the way the team turned things around after another slow start. If anything, we could see more runs like the one the boys were on before the Christmas break. Working through the back half of the podcast, we changed gears to a little bit of betting talk centred around Connor McDavid's Art Ross Trophy race. Now that McDavid is just outside the top six in league scoring, everyone gave their take on whether the captain has enough runway left to finish climbing the ladder. Given that the odds are getting juicy, would you consider dropping a few dollars on No. 97 to win another Art Ross Trophy, even with work to do?Finally, the boys wrapped up the Friday episode of ONR with another round of Ask the Idiots and Hot that featured some Oilers and Christmas questions.
