A rambling, ranting podcast with no agenda, examining consciousness, art, philosophy, mindfulness, literature, language, and travel.
This week's podcast was supposed to be an interview podcast I had recorded with my brother, but that's not the podcast you'll be listening to. Instead I'll be talking about police brutality, racial injustice and the killing of Elijah McClain. What happened to this 23-year-old is unacceptable and his tragic loss of life should outrage everyone. The unlawful deaths of countless African Americans over the last few months are a repellent reflection of American values. I forgot to mention in this podcast that over 2.2 million Americans have signed a petition to reopen the investigation into Elijah's death. I forgot to mention that during his encounter with the Aurora Police, while they brutalized him they threatened to unleash their attack dog on him. He committed no crime and he had no weapon. If you're a white American and you're silent on the topic of racial injustice and police brutality, or you're neutral, or you don't want to pick a side - your silence is violence. By looking the other way you're giving tacit permission to those perpetrating these acts. By not standing up for your fellow human beings who are being killed with impunity, you're helping to create a world where this behavior is normalized. Be better. Have hard conversations. Love one another. Now more than ever.
The unjust murder of George Floyd by a Minneapolis police officer has sparked riots in America. There's a lot of talk about whether rioting, arson, and property destruction are justified. On the topic of the Tea Party riot, Samuel Adams said it was "not the act of a lawless mob, but was instead a principled protest and the only remaining option the people had to defend their constitutional rights." It would seem, then, that violence against capital is a valid form of protest in a police state which values capital more than human life.
It's been a while friends, and the world has changed since our last episode. I hope everyone is staying safe and looking out for one another. This episode comes to you straight from Poland where I talk with an old friend from New York - a nurse who recently tested positive for COVID-19. We chat about coping mechanisms, changes around New York, and what life has been like in these crazy times.
Tune in for this week in 2020.
I had another podcast ready to squeeze out of my cheeks this week, but in light of recent articles and events I decided to scrap it and push out a steaming hot fresh one instead. Enjoy while I read from a couple of articles (listed and linked below) in the first half, and talk about what you can do to start saving the planet in the second half. Feel fucking empowered, motherfuckers!ArticlesChomskyDoomsday ClockTrump Water PollutionSongsEl Paso - Marty RobbinsMy Rifle My Pony and Me - Dean Martin & Ricky Nelson
One week, two episodes. Feast your ears on what will perhaps be the worst podcast anyone has ever recorded. Brace yourself for a story about vomiting, sidewalk violence, laundromats in the rain and redemption through unconditional self love.
Here's the first podcast of 2020. We're off to a rough start. Australia is in flames. An estimated 500 million animals have already been claimed by the fires. There's a Muslim genocide happening in China. Trump is provoking a war with Iran. And the first week of the year isn't even over yet. Buckle up, it's going to be a bumpy ride.
Happy holidays! This week's episode is a very short one on US President Donald J Trump's historic impeachment.
This week's episode is a boiling hot one. I might even be put on a hit list for the kinds of things I'm discussing here. Listen at your own peril. By the time you hear this, I might be dead.
The twelfth instalment of The Passing Through Podcast is brought to you by armageddon. Not the movie featuring Liv Tyler, Ben Affleck and Bruce Willis, I mean the threat of incoming planetary collapse at the hands of our capitalist overlords. Join me for a quick rant about human rights abuses in China, how koalas are going extinct as Australia burns to the ground, eucalyptus, and what it's like going to the doctor in Germany.
Better late than never, right? Due to some mysterious circumstances, last week's podcast never made it through the labyrinthine pipes of the internet to your virtual doors. The technical difficulties have been resolved and now, dear listeners, feast your ears on the diabolical droning sounds of my voice in this Halloween inspired episode.
The tenth episode! This week is a special celebration of friendship with the first interview podcast. I've blackmailed a friend into doing this, so if he seems a little on edge, you know why. Join us for a meandering chat about California, working remotely, life in a dystopian fishing village and much more!
This week's episode is hot off the press. Emphasis on the hot. Spain was scorching, even for October. Join me for a brief recap of the trip, a talk about Permaculture, drug use in Berlin, and the importance of checking the expiration date on your probiotics.
Happy global climate strike day! In this week's episode, join me right after I wake up for a brief chat about psychedelics. This, like music and the environment, will be a recurring theme throughout this podcast. I'll be completely off the grid for two weeks, see you all soon!
This week's episode is brought to you by Exxon and BP, the architects of our future. Please listen for a brief chat about declining insect populations and the destruction of our natural habitat. Don't join the Global Climate Strike on September 20th, because it's for suckers.
I took a nasty fall earlier in the week and injured my back, so this week's episode is brought to you by guest host and visiting friend, Bojack Clayton.
In this week's episode, a shoutout to Futurium in Berlin, a quick look at net worth, and then a brief story about my birth defect.
What do Burning Man, Bob Dylan and the Amazon fires have in common? Find out in this week's podcast!
In this week's episode join me for a quick chat about naked coworkers and lost keys. But because of the awful sound quality of this episode, I'd just recommend you skip it entirely. Thank me later.
In this week's episode, I'm super tired from work. Listen to me talk quickly about Austria, love, and being tired from work!
The first instalment of a weekly (hopefully) podcast. Join me in this episode for a quick chat about the environment.
