A North Carolina bill would make repeat indecent exposure a felony and require sex-offender registration, dramatically increasing the consequences of a law that does not require prosecutors to prove sexual intent. The proposal does not create a new prohibition on nonsexual nudity, but for naturists it raises the stakes of an existing statute whose reach is already unusually broad.More at www dot planetnude dot co. A conversation with Art Vernon, a naturist and a rabbi, who believes that social nudity does not violate his religious beliefs and traces the origins of non-sexual nudity to the story of Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden. Rabbi Vernon discovered social nudity at Fire Island National Seashore about 15 years ago. In the years following, he has practiced naturism in the United States and in Israel and he relates some of his experience as the only nude bather on Israeli beaches. He has also been surprised to discover naturists among Orthodox Jews. This fractured fairy tale is more horrific than you thought.Join BP, Coop and Justin as we do a deep dive review of the 2025 Norwegian satirical, black comedy, body horror film 'The Ugly Stepsister' (Den Stygge Stesøsteren), written and directed by Emilie Blichfeldt, in her feature film directorial debut. An international production mostly in Norwegian, it is loosely based on the 19th century fairytale "Aschenputtel" by the Brothers Grimm, itself a retelling of the French fairy tale "Cinderella"; unlike most versions of the stories revolving around Cinderella, it focuses instead on one of her stepsisters who embarks on a grueling quest to capture the heart of a handsome prince. It stars Lea Myren, Thea Sofie Loch Næss, Ane Dahl Torp and Flo Fagerli. The film had its world premiere as the opening film of the Midnight section of the 2025 Sundance Film Festival on 23 January. It was also screened at the Panorama section of the 75th Berlin International Film Festival on 16 February. It was theatrically released in Norway on 7 March by Scanbox Entertainment, in Denmark on 28 May, and in Sweden on 13 June.It was nominated for the Best Makeup and Hairstyling Award at the 98th Academy Awards. The Ugly Stepsister is available to stream on Shudder.Follow the Complete Guide to Horror Movies podcast on our social channels below.↪ TikTok↪ Twitter↪ Facebook↪ Instagram↪ YouTube↪ Shop our Store!↪ Tip us $5↪ Linktree↪ LetterboxdChapters00:00 The Ugly Stepsister: Welcome to the Nightmare01:35 First Impressions: A Surprisingly Brutal Cinderella Story05:25 Why European Horror Hits Differently06:45 Favourite Parts: Music, Alma & the Dreamlike Fairy Tale10:30 The Horrifying Beauty Procedures15:25 The Toe Scene: One of Horror's Most Brutal Moments17:45 Tapeworms, Gore & the Physical Effects20:10 The Prince, the Ball & the Cruelty of the Characters22:55 European Horror, Nudity & Why It Works25:40 The Ball Scene: Editing, Suspense & Elvara's Breakdown28:40 Costumes, Makeup & the Real Cinderella Transformation31:00 The Ballet Teacher, the Chocolate Scene & More Weirdness34:20 The Darkest Part of the Story: Abuse & Beauty Standards36:45 Least Favourite Parts: The Worms & Small Production Gripes38:00 Music Choices & Inconsistent Colour Grading40:00 Editing Problems & the Tapeworm Could Have Gone Further42:00 Should The Ugly Stepsister Be Remade?44:00 Ryan Murphy, The Substance & Hollywood's Adaptation Problem46:00 Could Looksmaxxing Become a Body-Horror Movie?48:00 Beauty Standards, Masculinity & the Modern Man49:15 Ratings: Is The Ugly Stepsister a Horror Masterpiece?50:50 Final Thoughts & Podcast Outro#theuglystepsister #bodyhorror #cinderella #familyguy #horror #movie #horrorfilm #splatter #deathscene #scarymovie #horrortok #completeguidetohorror #horrormovie #scary #creepy #graphic #deepdive #paranormal #shudder
We start with callers discussing topless relatives at the pool and how birth control influences women's dating preferences, before Gio pitches a Netflix show called ‘Surprise Penis'. Jerry then returns for an update featuring Jameis Winston on Jaxson Dart, Cade Klubnik on getting reps at Jets camp, Ben Johnson and Caleb Williams discussing Williams' progression, and Travis Kelce calling his wedding the best night of his life. Finally, we close by questioning if there is something fishy going on with the sale of the Lakers.
You've taught your children "stop, run, tell" when a bad picture appears. But what happens when the nudity is in a Renaissance painting at a museum, or in a classical homeschool curriculum? Do the same rules apply, or is there room for nuance? In this episode, Elizabeth Urbanowicz works through a question she admits she's found genuinely hard. What actually separates a Renaissance sculpture made to highlight the beauty of God's design from pornography made for arousal? At what age can a child understand that difference, and what should you say before then? She walks through what to do at each stage, how to prepare a child before a museum visit or a field trip, and how she handles those galleries herself, then invites listeners to weigh in with their own biblically grounded thinking.

The Summer of Rollin continues...and Jean Rollin is starting to become Jean Rollin. In Episode 575, we journey into The Shiver of the Vampires (1971) and Requiem for a Vampire (1971), two films that show Rollin evolving from an experimental filmmaker finding his voice into an auteur who has seemingly discovered exactly what kind of cinema he wants to make. With The Shiver of the Vampires, Rollin pushes further into his fascination with nudity, sexual liberation, desire and the female form, while surrounding it all with the crumbling castles, deserted landscapes, gothic imagery and dreamlike atmosphere that were rapidly becoming his trademark. But beneath the naked bodies and vampire mythology is something far more interesting: isolation.Rollin's characters often seem detached from the real world, wandering through beautiful spaces that feel simultaneously romantic, threatening and completely unreal. His films aren't simply stories happening in strange locations, the locations themselves become part of the story. Then comes Requiem for a Vampire. And Rollin basically decides that dialogue is optional. For almost 40 minutes, the film barely speaks a word, instead allowing imagery, music, movement and atmosphere to carry the narrative. It's a bold, egotistical and utterly fascinating decision, one that could have collapsed into pretension but instead becomes one of the clearest demonstrations of Rollin's confidence as a filmmaker. We'll explore how Requiem strips away conventional storytelling and replaces it with something closer to a cinematic dream, a film where logic takes a back seat to mood, composition, sexuality, fantasy and the hypnotic power of the image.Along the way we'll explore:The evolution of Rollin's vampire mythology.Nudity, eroticism and sexual liberation in his cinema. The beauty and isolation of his locations.Rollin's growing obsession with dream logic over conventional narrative. The audacity of almost 40 minutes without dialogue. How these films cement the visual and thematic DNA of a Rollin movie. What makes his cinema so instantly recognisable, and so difficult to imitate.By this point, Rollin isn't simply making vampire movies. He's creating Rollin movies.Beautiful, bizarre, erotic, melancholic, surreal and often completely unconcerned with whether the audience knows exactly what the hell is going on.So once again, pour the wine, head for the nearest crumbling castle and prepare to lose yourself in the strange, seductive world of Jean Rollin. The Summer of Rollin continues...The following texts and documentaries were used in this series:Lost Girls: The Phantasmagorical Cinema of Jean Rollin - Samm DeighanOrchestrator of Storms: The Fantastique World of Jean Rollin (2022) - Kat Ellinger and Dima BallinIndicator 4KUHD Releases of both The Rape of the Vampire & The Nude Vampire - Street date June 2023.The grading follows the Netflix rating style of 1 = Hated It, 2 = Didn't Like It, 3 = Liked It, 4 = Really Liked It & 5 = Loved ItShiver of the Vampires:Duncan: 4.5Requiem for a Vampire:Duncan: 5Our new RSS Feed: https://anchor.fm/s/13ba6ef0/podcast/rssCheck out the show on Anchor, iTunes, TuneIn & on Stitcher Radio. Please leave us feedback on iTunes, podcastunderthestairs@gmail.com and follow us on Facebook.Timecode For Episode 575:00:00:00 - Intro 00:03:44 - Shiver of the Vampires00:14:18 - Requiem for a Vampire00:26:54 - The Indicator 4KUHD's 00:32:14 - Closing the Show

THE DREAMERS seemed surprisingly embraced after the incredibly problematic experience of LAST TANGO IN PARIS (which we cover in brief but will tackle at a later date). It's a really well-made piece of filmmaking, which marks the film debut of Eva Green (discounting her uncredited appearance in Haneke's THE PIANO TEACHER) alongside Michael Pitt and Louis Garrel playing the other young “dreamers” in this ménage à trois. There's some stuff in this movie that, if we went into it now, we would easily get censored. But what do you expect from a filmmaker who studied under the likes of Paolo Pasolini?

Nudity, comedy, cutting edge music, precocious kids, wannabe stars: public access in New York in the 1970s and '80s had everything -- a freewheeling outgrowth of cable TV that allowed freedom of expression to flourish. Bob Geldof didn't like Mondays. Garfield didn't like Mondays. We're all out here living for the weekend…or so I have been told. And that is what this film really is: a bunch of eventful weekends spliced together in cinematic form. Ten years of the YOBcast and not a single nudity episode?! Until now. Join Tom, Ryan, Matt, and a special guest to discuss this important intersection of nudity, body image, and vulnerability with other men. How did our familial and peer upbringings shape our relationship with nudity as adults? How have we – or haven't we – entered nude environments like doctor's offices, locker rooms, and Korean spas? We share stories of how appropriate, non-sexual nudity has initiated deeper brotherhood, and also stories of insecurity or lack of desire to be nude with other men. Wherever you fall on this “nudity desire spectrum,” we hope this episode helps you reconsider your relationship with your own body, as well as your embodied relationships with the men around you. In this episode of _Classical Et Cetera_ the team discusses how classical educators and parents should approach nudity in classical art with students. What is the difference between beauty and sensuality? Why did classical artists portray the human form the way they did? And how can teachers guide students toward wisdom, dignity, and discernment when studying great works of art? VALIE EXPORT spent her career forcing audiences to confront the politics of the body directly. Through performance, film, nudity, and public intervention, the Austrian artist challenged assumptions about obscenity, spectatorship, gender, and control long before those questions became central to digital culture. This episode looks back at a body of work that treated nudity not as decoration or provocation alone, but as a site of power, conflict, and liberation.More at www dot planetnude dot co. You saw the video. A DoorDash driver named Livie goes viral on TikTok after reporting that a customer answered the door naked and flashed her. The internet rallied behind her. And then — the story got complicated. Bridget breaks down what actually happened, why the story became a breeding ground for misinformation and AI-generated fake videos, and what it tells us about where we're at when it comes to women speaking up online. There are certain movies they really shouldn't show on a plane. Nudity is, you'd think, a given. Marley and Me is also a given, but for a very different reason. “You were hungover thinking about darts.” “You are scum.” “You are a waste that has wasted himself.” “How do you like that John?” “Why don't you just melt in the park you never walked through enough 21 years ago?” “You complete piece of S.”From that exchange you wouldn't think it would be a philosophical episode. However it is. It's deep. It's a privilege, despair, sadness, nostalgia fest. And for once, the despair isn't coming from John. You've got the Bosnians to thank for that. It's also Edin Dzeko's fault as to why Elis is dressed as a man who runs a community farm.Elsewhere Dave gets some coaching off a much speedier runner, John couldn't leave his bed because he had an enjoyable visit to his old university college, and we have a reappraisal of Mellowship Slinky in B major. And finally, do we have a companion podcast to ‘A History of Nudity in a Thousand Beautiful Women with John Robins'? Because, after all, you simply must have two episodes a week these days.Get your Bureau when it's piping hot on Saturday mornings, only on BBC Sounds, and if you want to drop anything down into our digital postal chutes then wang it over to elisandjohn@bbc.co.uk.

Sam Jay is back and walks into a studio filled with chaos. Bobby sits in a chair full of chocolate and all clues point to Jacob as the culprit. | Just like Jay, she watches Baddies on the Zeus Network and turns him on to a male version of the show. | For a tv shoot, Sam once drove around Queens in a Mercedes while shirtless. | She has slimmed down with the help of Ozempic and makes fun of Bobby's old-man workout routine. *To hear the full show to go www.siriusxm.com/bonfire to learn more!
