Improviser and all-around awesome person Lauren makes her case for why this is such a good album, and I totally agree with her. More important questions about the nature of velociraptor ghosts and Freddie Mercury's teeth are asked and Lauren is challenged to a game of Lyric or Just My Diary. Good times are had by all. We also touch on life with improv, car burgles, and the Reese Witherspoon/Mark Wahlberg '90s classic Fear. And yes, we really did watch it after recording the episode. We break out the liquor (please excuse any audio issues) and I crack open Paul Carrubba's (KUTX FM) fact-filled skull to get at all his knowledge about The Clash as we celebrate the 40th anniversary of their 3x album Sandinista! with an extra-long episode. We cover the album, history, their influence, there's some trivia, and so much more. It's a good listen. Follow Paul on Instagram - @austincalling84 Also, listen to his show on KUTX 98.9FM in Austin, TX every Sunday from 10:00AM(CST) - 2:00PM(CST). He plays an eclectic mix of stuff. We talk to one of my favorite people, Lindsay. Also joining is guest host Becca. We get off-topic almost immediately and often. Do we talk about the entire album? Not even close, but we do manage to circle back to it often enough. The conversation was just too much fun so it's all in there. I will also suggest listening to the very end because that's where I'll be dropping fun stuff that doesn't quite fit into the episode. Some notes: I think at the beginning we were all thinking about Google Play Music that just got shut down this past week. Ponch is a dog. And I was wrong. The woman talking on the album is not Frank Ocean's aunt, but is actually just a friend of his mom. The story about the frogs also might be a popularly believed myth: https://skeptoid.com/episodes/4223 Here's the Pentatonix Wizard of Oz video Becca was talking about: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QkVeKb2igrg Follow Becca on Instagram - @rebeccadunagan Follow the Wax Poetic Podcast on the social media places: Facebook - waxpoeticpodcast Instagram - @waxpoeticpodcast Twitter - @waxpoeticpod

I journey through the darkness with Henry Mouat as we talk about Nine Inch Nails' album The Fragile. We touch on struggling to be happy, fitting in, and being creative to cope with COVID-19. Henry is also the first in a line of people that break out their iPod for me. The Fragile - Released September 21, 1999 "I wanted this album to sound like there was something inherently flawed in the situation, like someone struggling to put the pieces together. Downward Spiral was about peeling off layers and arriving at a naked, ugly end. This album starts at the end, then attempts to create order from chaos, but never reaches the goal. It's probably a bleaker album because it arrives back where it starts—[with] the same emotion”. The album begins “Somewhat Damaged” and ends “Ripe [With Decay]". —Reznor Follow the Wax Poetic Podcast on the social media things: Facebook - waxpoeticpodcast Instagram - @waxpoeticpodcast Twitter - @waxpoeticpod
