Wow, OG Badger’s first episode has already garnered thousands of listens on the podcast as well as thousands of views on YouTube. The story of the recovered 1%er face of OG Badger’s Heavy Hitters on YouTube is one that, as you will see, or have seen in Part 1, has set the basis for his following that totals more than 50,000 people across various social media platforms. His stories vary from daily recovery readings to hardcore prison experiences aimed at keeping people out of prison. The first episode was certainly gritty…if you haven’t checked it out yet, check out the link and description below. During Part 2, however, Badger made it a point to focus on his story of RECOVERY! Badger shares how he was able to get clean and how he was able to have a Higher Power purify his heart and be accepting of all people of all races. More importantly, he explains how he got clean, how he got a job, how he reconnected with his family, and how he continues to stay clean to this day. An impressive part of Badger’s 12th Step is the $600/month bed that he maintains at ALL times for an addict who is ready and willing to go through the steps and get sober. You can check out his channel below for ways to contribute. He shares how and why he got this bed, and why looking out for and helping other addicts is VITAL to recovery. In true OG Badger fashion, this one is insightful, emotional, and of course, entertaining. Much respect, Badger. Thank you for helping us help others… MAKE SURE TO CHECK HIS CHANNEL OUT!
(Part 1 of 2) Warning, this episode gets a bit gritty…but first, please LIKE and SUBSCRIBE with Notifications ON so that you are notified immediately of any and all new episodes...Video available on our YouTube channel as well as our traditional audio podcast. We are joined today by OG Badger, the recovered 1%er and the face of "OG Badger’s Heavy Hitters" channel on YouTube. Badger’s story is one that, as you will see, has set the basis for his following that totals more than 50,000 people across various social media platforms. His stories vary from daily recovery readings to hardcore prison experiences aimed at keeping people out of prison. Badger was introduced to hard drugs by his father who, after catching him smoking weed at 13 years old, dragged him by his hair into his bathroom only to inject cocaine into his arm…the high leading to the first time he ever told his father he loved him. Fast forward, and Badger ends up facing 31 days in jail for driving on a suspended license and turns that short stint into 20 YEARS throughout the California prison system as a 1%er. On his 17th day, 3 DAYS away from an early release, due to looking to prove himself, he caught a “187 charge” (murder), convicted by Judge Lance Ito, judge of the famous OJ Simpson trial, which led to his lengthy stay during which he was a shot-caller at times. His stay in the California prison system led to a number of wild stories, most importantly to us, one of a of full-blown, homemade needle-sharing heroin addiction in prison, with no desire to recover as he figured he would spend the rest of his life in prison. Due to simply WANTING MAIL FROM SOMEONE, while he was in the “hole”, he wrote to the only address he knew, the address of a local Los Angeles Narcotics Anonymous office…and they wrote back. This led to him visiting them once being released the final time and being engulfed in the steps. Badger shares his recovery through the 12-steps and gives SOLID advice about how he feels one should work them and how he takes his sponsees through them. Tune in for a harrowing story which sets up our next episode….part 2 during which he will focus more on his recovery story. Thanks to OG Badger for joining the show - subscribe to his channel
We are joined today by Cameron Benedict. Unlike most of us addicts, Cameron’s heroin use had no graduation of intensity...in other words, his first experience with heroin was shooting it directly into his veins. He did not start with snorting or smoking it, he was shooting up from day 1. Cameron shares his story about going through a number of different rehabilitation centers, and although being able to get a few months clean here and there, ultimately returning to the life of addiction every time. Cameron shares the serenity that he ultimately found, although it did not come from any type of organized program that he is currently working...he found the power of therapy, honesty, integrity, and self-reflection. He holds himself accountable to a high degree. In addition, Cameron talks about CBD and what it has done for him and his recovery. CBD has helped him immensely and he shares the peace that it has provided his mind and body. Additionally, he provides some of the science behind CBD and shares how he feels it can help a number of people with numerous ailments even outside of addiction. He has recently secured funding and founded Exalt CBD and shares his mission to help others. Tune in for a great story and to learn something!! Remember, our goal is to provide a free recovery resource for addicts and loved ones of addicts.
