Our last day together for a few weeks as Jean gets ready to fly to Europe! In the news this morning, the latest on the Mega Millions drawing for tonight, more & more flights getting canceled, and say goodbye to the Farmers' Almanac! In sports, the Broncos beat the Raiders last night to kick off Week 10 in the NFL, the Badger men's basketball team plays tonight while the Badger football team plays tomorrow. Drew Brees will be replacing Mark Sanchez as a full-time NFL analyst for FoxSports, and the tragic news about Marshawn Kneeland. We let you know what's on TV and in theaters this weekend, and we got Doc on the phone for his final racing report of the year thanks to County Materials in Holmen. Campbell's has already released it's annual "State Of The Sides" report and for the second year in a row…stuffing > mashed potatoes! In other food-related news, the newest TikTok "trend" is apparently just eating a bunch of beans. Elsewhere in sports, former NFL wide receiver Antonio Brown was recently arrested in Dubai and extradited to the US on attempted murder charges. Also, Matt Kalil's allegedly massive penis is burning up the internet right meow. We had a new "Karen of the Day" who got very upset when a passenger in her Uber asked to roll the window down & play some music. Cool story about a retirement party for a very dedicated employee at a McDonald's in Tampa. Another "trend" that's making the rounds right now is the 3 By 3 method to improve your overall health. And in today's edition of "Bad News with Happy Music", we had stories about a robbery at a cashless bank, a dude in Minnesota who was allegedly running a chainsaw without any clothes on, a woman in Illinois who was found hiding in the wall between two businesses, an update on that drunk substitute gym teacher in Muskego, a couple who were having sex while driving on the Autobahn in Germany at 90MPH, a #FloridaMan who threw his wad of chewing tobacco in the face of a 7-Eleven clerk because there wasn't any TP in the bathroom, and an escaped pet pig attacked a woman in Buffalo!See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Another day in the mid-50's as we get ready for colder temps this weekend. It's Hypothetical Thursday, so we once again asked each other hypothetical questions. Jean's question for Brian was: "Who was the most influential person in your life?". Brian's question for Jean was: "Would you rather fly First-Class every time you fly & stay in a 1-star hotel...or stay in a 5-star hotel whenever you go somewhere & have the middle seat in economy?" Office Cora joined us just after 8am to let us know what she's up to this weekend in the 715. Her hypothetical question for us was: "If you could only have one condiment for the rest of your life, which one would you choose?" We also let you know what's on TV today/tonight, talked about season 2 of KPop Demon Hunters, and Miss Piggy's stand-alone movie. In sports, Week 10 in the NFL kicks off tonight with Thursday Night Football, the Bucks are off until Friday, Giannis got a black eye and it's origins are….interesting, and a look at the Badger men's basketball schedule and the Badger football schedule. Great story about a heroic teen in Florida who recently helped save a bunch of people who were stuck in their vehicles during a flash flood. And an absolutely heart-warming story about a 93 year-old man who used his smelly socks to help track down & find his lost dog. In case you missed it, Kraft recently released a new flavor of it's Mac-n-Cheese, and people have strong reactions to it. Elsewhere in sports, Alexander Ovechkin scored his 900th career goal, Kyler Murray is going on the IL, and CJ Strout is going to sit this weekend for the Texans. October just recently wrapped up, and many of you probably went to a wedding. October is the most popular month for nuptials, and we looked a list of ways you might have been rude at a wedding. And in today's edition of "Bad News with Happy Music", we had stories about a guy who REALLY needed to use a bathroom stall at a grocery store, a hospital in Maine is apologizing for sending letters to a bunch of LIVING patients…telling them that they are actually DEAD, a council meeting in Scotland that had to edit the recording of a recent meeting after someone went to the bathroom without turning off their camera, the benefits of having sex in the morning, and a drunk substitute teacher in WI.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

With the 2025 road racing season now firmly in the rear view mirror, join Daniel Friebe and Lionel Birnie for a freewheeling ramble through some of the big stories that have hit the headlines in the past couple of weeks. We start by discussing the fragile nature of survival at World Tour level with the news that the Australian team Jayco-Alula came within days of possibly folding, and the delays to confirmation that two Belgian teams, Lotto and Intermarché, intend to become one. Where does that leave the riders, especially Intermarché's biggest star Biniam Girmay? Then we indulge in a bit of off-season speculation and wonder what Tadej Pogačar's 2026 season might look like, particularly with a number of race organisers making changes seemingly to entice the SlovAlien to ride. The Vuelta a España starting in his adopted home town of Monaco is not a particularly subtle overture and it seem an appealing prospect but, as we discuss, the picture is more complicated than that. Welcome to The Daily, where we study the Bible verse by verse, chapter by chapter, every day. Today's shout-out goes to Troy Longen from Badger, MN. Thank you for your partnership with us through Project23. Our text today is Judges 11:1-3. Now Jephthah the Gileadite was a mighty warrior, but he was the son of a prostitute. Gilead was the father of Jephthah. And Gilead's wife also bore him sons. And when his wife's sons grew up, they drove Jephthah out and said to him, "You shall not have an inheritance in our father's house, for you are the son of another woman." Then Jephthah fled from his brothers and lived in the land of Tob, and worthless fellows collected around Jephthah and went out with him. — Judges 11:1-3 Jephthah enters our story under a dark cloud of shame—born of a prostitute (by the adulterous afair of Gilead), he is rejected by his half-brothers, and pushed out of his father's household. He ends up in Tob, surrounded by a gang of deadbeat outsiders with nowhere else to belong. From a natural perspective, Jephthah looked disqualified for any kind of leadership. But God often works through the unlikely, shaping leaders out of rejects. The very rejection that pushed Jephthah away was the tool God would use to prepare him for Israel's deliverance. Rejection stings. Family chaos always cuts deep. Being told you don't belong by your family of origin because of your father's sin can and usually does scar you for life. But rejection on a human plane doesn't disqualify you in God's economy—it often prepares you. Just think about your testimony. God makes leaders out of leftovers because God is the one writing the story. Think about it: Moses was a murderer in exile before he led Israel. David was the forgotten youngest son before he became king. Jephthah was driven away as illegitimate, but God would raise him up as a deliverer. The same is true for us—God redeems rejection by reassigning it for a divine purpose. Your rejection may be the exact place where God wants to demonstrate his power in your life. The rejection that made you feel small might become the stage for God's greatness. The voices that have said "you don't belong" can be drowned out by the voice of the Father who says, "you are mine called to a special mission." Don't resent rejection; bring it to God today. Name that wound, confess the pain, and ask him to redeem it for his glory. Believe that God wastes nothing—not even the broken pieces of your past. And then get ready... watch as God makes a leader out of the leftovers. ASK THIS: Where have I experienced rejection that still stings today? Do I believe that God can redeem even my deepest wounds for His purpose? How might the people I consider "worthless fellows" actually be the place where God is shaping me? DO THIS: Instead of resenting rejection, bring it to God today. Name the wound, confess the pain, and ask Him to redeem it for His glory. Believe that He wastes nothing—not even the broken pieces of your past. PRAY THIS: Father, thank You that rejection does not define me—Your calling does. Heal the wounds that make me feel small, redeem the places of pain, and prepare me to walk in Your purpose with confidence and faith. Amen. PLAY THIS: "One More Day."

FINALLY!!!!! The spookiest day/night of the year has arrived and I'm soooooo ready to drink some Festbiers while handing out some candy and watching scary movies!!! I hope you have a fun & safe Halloween. We started things off this morning by day-dreaming about winning tonight's Mega Millions jackpot, talked about a recall on blood pressure medication, and discussed a list of freebies you can take advantage of today for Halloween! In sports, the Ravens easily beat the Dolphins last night, we looked at the rest of the Week 9 schedule, Bucks got a nice win over Golden State last night without Giannis in the game, the World Series continues tonight from Toronto, the Badger football team is on a bye this weekend, and the Badger men's basketball team starts their regular season on Monday. We let you know what's on TV this weekend and what's new in theaters. Plus, we talked to Doc just after 8am and got his Racing Report courtesy of County Materials in Holmen! Elsewhere in sports, LSU fired their athletic director a day after the Louisiana Governor had some rather negative comments about the football program, the Lakers are being sold, and Gervonta Davis is in some serious trouble just weeks before his scheduled fight against Jake Paul. In other Halloween-related stuff, we took a look at how much Americans are spending on the holiday this year, and a list of the Top 10 costumes for adults, kids, & pets! Speaking of pets…check out this dog that just got reunited with it's owner SEVEN years after it went missing during a robbery. And in today's edition of "Bad News with Happy Music", we had stories about the dangers of caramel apples, a dude who dropped a 2,000lb pumpkin on his GEO Metro, a warning from the po-po about weed candy, a woman who ordered some meds online but got body parts instead, a new "Florida Man Cam" at Nashville Predator games, and a drunk dude in Germany who fell out of a bar & into the backyard of a butcher shop.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

In today's episode of Backpacker Radio presented by The Trek, we are joined by Kenneth Pararo, known on trail as Moron. This is a podcast we've been wanting to make happen for several years now, and let me tell you, it does not disappoint. Moron is a thru-hiker, long-distance cyclist, philosopher, hopeless romantic, futurist, and most importantly, just a real solid hang.  We learn about why he's all in on AI- as evidenced by him riding cross country rocking his Meta AI glasses, why he quit is corporate tech job to more permanently pursue adventure and experience, how he completed one AT thru-hike and quit another a couple hundred miles from the finish, turning it into an extended road walk to the Canadian border, only to turn around for some more road walking and eventually an extended bike ride, and how he plans his adventuring essentially one day at a time, letting fate largely guide his next move. We wrap the show with tips for safe and steamy tent sex, a contentious debate about using gas station bathrooms exclusively for a year for one million dollars, and the triple crown of people we just don't understand. In the world of white-collar crime, it's not always the man holding the gun who does the most damage. Sometimes, it's the man holding the pen. Russell Laffitte, the former CEO of Palmetto State Bank, has officially been sentenced—state and federal—for his pivotal role in enabling Alex Murdaugh's sprawling fraud schemes. From court-appointed conservator to criminal co-conspirator, Laffitte turned trust into a weapon and helped siphon over $1.8 million from vulnerable clients—victims of injury, trauma, and death. In this explosive breakdown, we dive into Laffitte's calculated choices, the financial mechanisms he exploited, and the chilling pattern of betrayal that turned him into the enabler behind South Carolina's most infamous legal dynasty. This isn't just about a banker gone bad. It's about systemic failure, small-town power, and what happens when legacy becomes liability. We unpack the stolen settlements, the broken promises, and the legal fallout that followed. From the exploitation of Hakeem Pinckney's estate to the stolen trust funds of Natarsha Thomas and the Badger family, this episode exposes how Laffitte kept the Murdaugh machine humming long after it should have shut down. If you thought the Murdaugh case was just about murder—you haven't seen the money trail. And Russell Laffitte was the guy laying down the tracks. #MurdaughMurders #RussellLaffitte #TrueCrime #WhiteCollarCrime #MurdaughFraud #SouthCarolinaScandal #PalmettoBank #ConservatorFraud #HiddenKillers #TrueCrimePodcast Want to comment and watch this podcast as a video?
