Dai dai dai! No that's not a threat, that's our call to come and listen to our latest episode of The Cycling Podcast Féminin where we are taking a look at the Italian Classics block. Lizzy Banks makes her much hoped-for return to the podcast to join Rose Manley, Rebecca Charlton and Denny Gray as we discuss a drama packed Strade Bianche and an equally surprising Trofeo Binda. In our mini feature we look at the history and significance of Trofeo Binda, a race that is often overlooked in favour of races with a men's equivalent but has long been a firm favourite among the peloton. We hear from twice winner and this year's super domestique Elisa Longo Borghini, former British champ and winner of the 2018 junior race Pfeiffer Georgi and bici.PRO chief editor Enzo Vicennati. We dig deeper into the unique elements of this race, one of the oldest on the women's calendar, and explore its connection to 1920s cycling icon Alfredo Binda. And lastly we look ahead – or perhaps don't – to Milan-Sanremo and the raft of cobbled classics that follows. Also on the agenda: an Elisa Longo Borghini panino, Denny speaks Mandarin (but does he really?) and Rebecca's goes all quasi psychologist on us with a theory that encompasses Milan-Sanremo fandom and university dissertation punctuality.Follow us on social media:Twitter @cycling_podcastInstagram @thecyclingpodcastFriends of the PodcastSign up as a Friend of the Podcast at thecyclingpodcast.com to listen to new special episodes every month plus a back catalogue of more than 300 exclusive episodes. The 11.01 CappuccinoOur regular email newsletter is now on Substack. The Cycling Podcast returns for another round-up of a packed and intriguing last week in professional cycling, with Paris-Nice and Tirreno-Adriatico completing their respective journeys and Milan-Sanremo on the horizon. Daniel Friebe, Lionel Birnie and Rob Hatch look first at Paris-Nice, where Jonas Vingegaard served up a timely reminder of his credentials ahead of his Giro-Tour double bid. We discuss Redbull–BORA–hansgrohe's tactics on the decisive stage to Uchon, a thrilling team time trial and Lenny Martínez's tactical masterclass on the final stage. The focus then switches to Tirreno, where good friends Isaac del Toro and Giulio Pellizzari turned rivals, with the Mexican ultimately prevailing. In the final part of the episode, we look ahead to the great cliffhanger of the spring season, Milano-Sanremo, and particularly Tadej Pogačar's latest bid to win there. There's a trip to Coorevits Corner, former winner Pippo Pozzato's advice for Pogačar, and another interview with the Slovenian's own dedicated Sanremo coach, former rider and local boy Niccolò Bonifazio.  EPISODE SPONSORSIndeedIf you are looking to hire someone for your company, maybe the best way isn't to search for a candidate but to match with Indeed. Just when you thought it was over…BAM! More snow. Ugh. I know it wasn't much during the overnight…but seriously. Can it just be Saturday already with a high of 70° in the forecast? Did you see the meteor that rocketed across the sky in Ohio yesterday? Impressive stuff. Also in the news this morning, a wild story about Pokémon Go, Kid Rock responds to the joke about him during the Oscars, and a former Baywatch star gets arrested in Wisconsin! In sports, the Bucks lost to the Cavs last night and Giannis is injured again, the results of yesterday's "First Four" games in the men's NCAA tourney and a look at today's games, Team USA lost the championship game of the World Baseball Classic to Venezuela last night, the Badger women's hockey team is getting ready for their game against Penn State on Saturday, and the Badger men's basketball team plays tomorrow against High Point. We talked about what's no TV today/tonight including the new episode of Survivor featuring Zac Brown! A list of signs that your co-worker has no clue what they are doing, and a look at how often Americans are having sex and how long does it last on average. Elsewhere in sports, the Dolphins trade Jaylen Waddle to the Broncos, an update on Aden Holloway, the Brewers announced that they'll be showing ten of their games on over-the-air stations this season, and if you're going to the season opener next Thursday…the Brew Crew is going to show a sneak peek at the upcoming Bob Uecker documentary. Nice story out of Canada about firefighters rescuing a golden retriever who fell through the ice on a frozen pond, and a woman in Georgia living with cerebral palsy just got a bunch of help from people on the internet so she could attend a special needs prom. We also played our interview with Patrick Stone of Hairball!! They'll be at the Onalaska Omni Center on Saturday night. And in today's edition of "Bad News with Happy Music", we had stories about a patient that refuses to leave a #Florida hospital, first cousins getting married in #Florida, a guy who tried to use fake money to pay is bail, and a dude who drove from Arizona to Alaska to try & kill his ex-wife.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Today's episode of Backpacker presented by The Trek brought to you by Topo Athletic, is the horniest. Goda Latvys, known on trail as Freyja, has been hiking more or less non-stop over the last 5+ years, and in the process, writing in vivid detail about her many sexual conquests, which is the central theme of today's conversation. When I say x-rated, please do not take that lightly, as the subject matter is highly explicit sexual content, and most definitely not intended for young audiences or anyone who is uncomfortable with vivid adult themes. You have been warned. We wrap the show with the news of a fella who thru-skated from Mexico to Alaska, a conspiracy theory we don't believe in but wish were true, the triple crown of cookies, a sex story from a reader that is certifiably insane, and yet another entry into the heated debate of whether you'd rather encounter a bear vs. a man in the woods. An adjuster starts to close the file on a roofing claim. The adjuster had worked closely with the roofing contractor and saw the claim through to its resolution, with the contractor getting paid in full. Then the adjuster receives an invoice with a supplement, from a company in another state. Upon calling the insured, they had no awareness of this company. Today Steven Badger from Zelle LLP will address these and other topics as we continue our discussion on "hot topics" in hail claims. Notable Timestamps [00:01] - Some in the industry describe the "reclaim game" as when an insured gets paid on a prior roof claim, never fixes the roof, then years later submits a new claim for the same unresolved damage. [02:52] - On every new claim, adjusters can ask if the insured has ever filed a prior claim for the same damage, as opposed to relying solely on industry claim-history reports. [03:45] - Early investigation often includes reviewing historical aerial and street-view imagery plus a low-cost hail history report to understand the roof's actual damage timeline. [05:32] - Establishing coverage for business or goodwill reasons can open the door for supplementation. [06:29] - Permit records, especially for commercial roofs, can confirm whether a claimed roof replacement really occurred and reveal the value and scope of prior work. [07:35] - Is a supplement being submitted by the contractor who actually did the work or by a third-party supplement firm? [13:08] - When contractors waive or absorb deductibles, insurers can request proof the deductible was paid. [14:48] - Contractors who take over the claim process without a public adjuster license may be committing the unauthorized practice of public adjusting in certain circumstances. [17:19] - Even in contentious claims, both sides can resolve disputes fairly and professionally. Steven Badger from Zelle LLP joins us to talk about all the "hot topics" in the always interesting world of hail and other weather-related claims.  Steve will cover all the emerging trends in these claims, including current fraud and other abuse schemes, and provide his recommendations on how to address the common issues. He will also talk about what he is seeing with recent expanded use of the appraisal process.  Finally, Steve will talk about how his clients are addressing these issues through underwriting and policy wording changes. Notable Timestamps [ 00:07 ] - The episode introduces a discussion on emerging trends in hail and weather-related insurance claims, including fraud schemes, disputes over damage assessments, and how insurers are exploring underwriting and policy wording changes to address recurring issues. [ 01:22 ] - A key industry trend is shifting toward bigger-picture solutions that reduce disputes altogether, such as improving building resilience or changing claims processes so insurers and policyholders spend less time fighting over losses. [ 02:12 ] - Roof resiliency is a major topic. If roofing materials could withstand moderate hail, many claims would never occur, raising debate about requiring more durable materials like Class 4 hail-resistant roofing in hail-prone states. [ 03:28 ] - Some insurers already offer premium discounts for homes with Class 4 hail-rated roofs, but experts argue broader mandates may be necessary to significantly reduce hail claim frequency and stabilize insurance markets. [ 05:39 ] - Insurers report a rise in fabricated hail and wind damage claims, particularly during slow storm years when contractors relying on storm work may be tempted to create damage to generate insurance-funded repairs. [ 07:24 ] - Fabricated damage raises complex coverage questions. If a contractor intentionally damages property, insurers must consider whether the loss could fall under vandalism or malicious mischief provisions. [ 09:40 ] - Disputes often shift from scope of damage to pricing. Estimating tools like Xactimate help set initial reserves, but they are still estimates and can be manipulated by adding or removing line items. [ 11:27 ] - Many policies ultimately require payment based on the "amount actually incurred," meaning the real cost of repairs. This shifts focus from software estimates to contracts, invoices, and proof of actual payments. [ 14:08 ] - Contractors and public adjusters may inflate estimates within software systems, even adding items like adjuster commissions that are often not covered, which can raise unrealistic expectations for policyholders. [ 15:33 ] - One strategy to counter inflated estimates is obtaining real competitive contractor bids. Presenting an independent price for the same work can help challenge excessive claims and refocus negotiations on actual costs. The Classics season has truly commenced, with Opening Weekend out of the way and regular trio Daniel Friebe, Lionel Birnie and Rob Hatch back to analyse the key takeaways from two intense days of racing on the cobbles and hellingen of Flanders. On Saturday, Mathieu van der Poel's latest masterclass suggested it could be a long spring for some of his rivals. MVDP's eternal antagonist, Wout Van Aert, was absent from Visma-Lease a Bike's line-up through illness, but that team could at least console themselves with Matthew Brennan's superb victory in Kuurne-Brussels-Kuurne on Sunday. We review both races and what they said about the coming weeks, with help from the ultimate authority on springtime racing in Belgium, Hugo Coorevits. It was also a busy weekend in France, and a delirious one for patriotic French fans. Paul Seixas's dominant performance at the Faun Ardèche Classic on Saturday prompted former rider turned pundit Jérôme Pineau to hail Seixas as “already the third best rider in the world”. We evaluate those claims and look ahead to Seixas's first clash of the season with Tadej Pogačar at Strade Bianche. EPISODE SPONSORSIndeedIf you are looking to hire someone for your company, maybe the best way isn't to search for a candidate but to match with Indeed. Ever been plugged into shore power but still had dim lights or a battery that won't stay charged? In this episode, Eric breaks down RV power converters in plain English—what they do, why they matter, and how to identify the style and brand you have in your rig. You'll learn the difference between 120V AC and 12V DC, where converters are usually located, and why knowing your converter's brand/model makes troubleshooting and replacing it much easier. We also cover single-stage vs multi-stage “smart” converters, and why charging profiles matter even more if you're running (or upgrading to) lithium batteries. To wrap up, we pivot to RV fire safety—where to keep fire extinguishers, why adding an extra one or two is smart, and why quality matters when you're buying a life-saving tool. Product Brands - WFCO, Parallax, Iota, PowerMax, Progressive Dynamics, Xantrex, Picquic, Victron, Amerex, Kidde, Ansul, Badger. Action step: Find your converter, snap a photo of the label, and write down the brand/model/amps—then check your fire extinguisher placement before your next trip. Takeaways: Understanding the operational mechanics and significance of the power converter in an RV is crucial for effective maintenance. When plugged into shore power, the power converter should supply 12 volts to the RV and charge the battery simultaneously. It is essential to identify the specific model and brand of your RV's power converter for troubleshooting purposes. The selection of high-quality batteries and converters greatly influences the longevity and performance of your RV's electrical system. It's another packed week of early-season racing, as we look back on the key action from the UAE, Andalusia and the Algarve last week – and ahead to Belgium's Opening Weekend.Daniel Friebe, Lionel Birnie and Rob Hatch focus first on the Volta ao Algarve, where Paul Seixas cranked up the hype around his short and long-term future with a stunning stage win and top-three overall finish. The winner of that race overall was Juan Ayuso, now of Lidl-Trek and formerly UAE. The rider who some might argue made Ayuso expendable at UAE, Isaac Del Toro, ruled the roost at the UAE Tour. Our Omloop Nieuwsblad preview is also an opportunity to find out whether there's any truth to rumours about perhaps the biggest star of the recent Winter Olympics joining Uno-X. Team manager Thor Hushovd sets us straight on that, plus we visit our own Belgian Classics oracle in Coorevits Corner. EPISODE SPONSORSIndeedIf you are looking to hire someone for your company, maybe the best way isn't to search for a candidate but to match with Indeed. It's been another frantic week in the world of pro cycling, with early season races in several parts of southern Europe and the Middle East. Tudor Pro Cycling's Larry Warbasse, who began his season at the Tour of Oman, is back in the co-host's seat with Daniel Friebe to review some of the key action and talking points. The most prestigious of the races starting this week, at least according to the UCI's ranking system, is the UAE Tour. Many expected a revealing first head-to-head battle between Remco Evenepoel and Isaac Del Toro, and indeed they emerged from the first three stages with a win apiece. Only one of the pair, though, will have been satisfied with his GC position with the final showdown at Jebel Hafeet to come – and that was Del Toro. Larry and Daniel discuss Evenepoel's struggles at the other Jebel, Mobrah, and ponder what they say about the rest of his season. We also talk about some other prodigious talents that have been in spotlight early this year, wayward leadouts and Pinarello Q36.5's recent trip to Chile, as described to us by Fred Wright.  EPISODE SPONSORSBikmoThis episode of The Cycling Podcast is brought to you by Bikmo cycle insurance – because let's face it, things happen. No Jean or Office Cora today, just me and you! In the news this morning, an update on the disappearance of Nancy Guthrie, a deadly avalanche in Lake Tahoe, a cause of death for actor Peter Greene, a cat food recall, and Tom Noonan…another well-known actor…passes away at age 74. In sports, the Badger men's basketball team takes on Iowa on Sunday, the Bucks return to action tomorrow night after the NBA All-Star break, the US Men's hockey team beat Sweden in overtime yesterday, Kyrie Irving is done for the season, and another update from Lindsey Vonn. Let you know what's on TV today/tonight and discussed the first ever YouTube video…which is apparently going into a museum. Talked about the latest from the Olympics including an updated medal count, and a dog that ran onto the track during the women's cross-country skiing event yesterday. Couple of cool stories here: an injured bald eagle was rescued by a few members of the NYPD, a woman who suffered a medical emergency and ended up in a canal gets rescued by a stranger, and some construction workers lighten the mood for some patients at a children's hospital. Elsewhere in sports, the Seahawks are officially going up for sale, and the MLBPA hires a new executive director. Even though Jean & Cora are both out today, my Hypothetical question for you was: "You can have any ONE vehicle from a film or TV show. Which one are you choosing?" According to a new survey, just 14% of Americans are giving up something for Lent. In today's edition of "Bad News with Happy Music", we had stories about a guy who drove drunk to pay an open container fine and got popped for DUI, a former school custodian who was busted for hiding in the girls' locker room, a truck that was driving recklessly & launched into a house, a woman who assaulted her boyfriend with a jar of pickles, and a strip club is getting sued!See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

In today's episode of Backpacker Radio presented by The Trek, brought to you by LMNT, we are joined once again by outdoor filmmaker and long-distance backpacker, Lauren "Longway" Roerick.  Lauren shares the highs and lows of a massive year of international backpacking and adventure, including dragging her "indoor cat" brother along on the 88 Temple Pilgrimage in Japan and her not in such great shape dad on the Camino del Norte in Spain, her less than stellar experience on the Via Dinarica and how one especially unfortunate stretch in Montenegro ultimately forced her off trail, quickly rinsing the palette with some gorgeous hiking on the Transcaucasian Trail in Georgia, and her experience hiking the Santa Fe to Taos Trail as part of our "get paid to thru-hike" sponsorship. We also learn more about Lauren's background, including a chaotic international divorce, learning calculus in Chinese, and how she once sang opera although refuses to do so for you- we forgive her and this is a fun, inspirational chat regardless. We wrap the show with a hidden gem thru-hike in New York, a Triple Crown of Pop (not SODA!), and what trail traditions should be celebrated on spring equinox. With the racing hotting up all over the pro cycling world, we return with the same Friebe-Birnie-Hatch trio as last week to review the latest action and talking points. The biggest news story of the week was ASO's decision to hand Spanish outfit Caja Rural a Tour de France wild card at the expense of the Unibet Rose Rockets. We discuss to what extent Caja's place on the startline in Barcelona is justified and the case for the opposition i.e. the Rockets. One man who'll certainly be heading to the Tour, barring accident, is Remco Evenepoel. His three wins in his first three outings for Red Bull-BORA-hansgrohe in Mallora augur well for the rest of season. Daniel's question is: could Remco even be the man to ruin Tadej Pogačar's Sanremo dream?Another candidate for that role, of course, is Mathieu van der Poel. He won his eighth world cyclocross title at the weekend, which has us wondering about the Winter Olympics extending his career in the discipline.EPISODE SPONSORSIndeedIf you are looking to hire someone for your company, maybe the best way isn't to search for a candidate but to match with Indeed. With the first WorldTour race of the season, The Tour Down Under, already done and dusted, we review the action in Australia plus other early-season racing and talking points from the week in professional cycling. Daniel Friebe and Lionel Birnie are joined by Rob Hatch, who was on the ground to see Jay Vine take his second TDU overall victory. After his masterclass with Vine on the Corkscrew climb early in the week, Jhonatan Narváez's crash threatened to derail UAE's race. Happily for them, Vine couldn't be shaken – not even by bushfires or a kangaroo running amok in the peloton. The other hot topic of the week was Jonas Vingegaard's crash on a training ride near Málaga, amid suggestions that he was trying to shake off an amateur who wanted to tag along. We ask whether cycling fans have a “stalking” problem – or whether it's the riders who need to change their attitude. EPISODE SPONSORSIndeedIf you are looking to hire someone for your company, maybe the best way isn't to search for a candidate but to match with Indeed. She shares a nasty medical mishap involving poodle dog bush on the PCT, we look back at her time with the Vermont Youth Conservation Corps, where she and other "malnourished minors" subsisted on moldy bread and Sriracha, which was presented as a vegetable.  Fancy Feast gives us an overview of her 2024 calendar hikes of the PCT and CDT, her experience navigating the Hayduke Trail with Horsepower (former guest) after he convinced her with a PowerPoint presentation, and the hilarious mismatch in hiking styles from this somewhat random pairing.  She details what it's like being a PNTA crew lead, and the challenges associated in light of funding cuts and crews being reduced to a skeleton staff.  Feast also shares standout stories from her international travels, including a "pig water" disaster in the Andes, her time at the Green Mountain Club with a persistent bear that turned her food box into a rolling pinata, and her hot takes on thru-hiker "main character energy" and entitlement.  We wrap the show with whether we'd rather have three butt cheeks or just one, the triple crown of mild yet particular icks or phobias, and the news of how one Hayduke hiker got caught in quicksand. This time the team are taking safety in numbers as Rose Manley is joined by a bumper number of co-hosts in Denny Gray, Rebecca Charlton and Jo Rowsell.Who will be tipped for success in the Classics? Which rider might be headed for a Giro-Tour double? Who is looking likely for a big bounceback? Before the team inevitably squabble over what is to come, they'll first be taking a look at how they fared with their predictions last year. But enough conjecture, the team will also be taking a close look at the first Women's World Tour race of the season, the Tour Down Under. There's plenty to talk about after Team UAE-ADQ squandered a three-versus-one advantage over Noemi Ruegg to grant the Swiss rider her second consecutive title at the race. Plus we discuss the recently announced UK Grand Depart for the Tour de France Femmes in 2027.Also on the agenda: the correct pronunciation of ‘Leeds', giving birth before Gent-Wevelgem and a cheese knife that will turn your family against you.Follow us on social media:Twitter @cycling_podcastInstagram @thecyclingpodcastFriends of the PodcastSign up as a Friend of the Podcast at thecyclingpodcast.com to listen to new special episodes every month plus a back catalogue of more than 300 exclusive episodes. The 11.01 CappuccinoOur regular email newsletter is now on Substack. Today's episode covers a lot of ground.  Today's conversation is part backpacking advice, part gear nerd chat, part a glimpse inside the operation at Skurka Adventures.  We first dive into Katie's list of the five biggest mistakes she made as a beginner backpacker and her take on why she loves her alcohol stove- after a decade of use. Andrew gives us an overview of vapor barrier layers and moisture management for cold-weather backpacking, the Ursack versus bear canister debate, he gives a framework for deciding exactly when it's time to hit the SOS button on your satellite communicator, the ethics of publicizing GPS tracks in these high consequence and fragile regions, and he shares his two cents on one of the most detailed bear-safety questions we've ever received. The duo also give us some standout stories from their years of working together, including a nightmarish and somehow hilarious story of surviving a Mojave Desert traffic jam in triple-digit heat.
