Going into depth about where I pull my writing and creativity from and how its not starting to affect my ability to write at this moment, plus going into more detail about the current stories I'm working on. Look at me posting podcasts episodes again!
I think I'm finally bored of regular life and just ready to get back to writing, back to simple and basic times where I could just disappear into a story.
My week in a nutshell. Working on my writing health, trying to get it in shape, briefly talk about character development or lack of and my idea for a writing Master Class.
Simple short and sweet updates on what's going on. Also preparing for the book signing in July.
A quick random talk about bone broth and just a typical writing morning. Nothing juicy or too much to tell in this episode lol. Just the usual banter of talking to myself and struggling with this storyline.
This particular episode is an actual time writing session. I would only recommend listening if you are a writer and have time to write. We start with 15 minute writing then a bootleg 5 minute break and then another 25 minutes of straight writing. Timed writing starts around the 4+ minute mark so in the beginning, get your station set up. Get what you need to get, find a timer and get to it. Once you begin, pause this episode and work on your story then when you finish, come back and break. I will be doing more of these in between main recordings.
Sunday fun episode in attempts to get back at it. Briefly talk about what I'm working on and what I'm hoping to get from this next project.
In this episode since I'm not quite ready to talk about what I'm working on just yet without a solid foundation, I decided to try something different by bringing on different authors/readers to discuss our...differences. We used the clubhouse app to meet up and this is how it turned out, take a listen.
Took a surprising but much needed break from writing but now I'm back, focused and ready for something new. This episode, I talk about starting something new as an author.
Brief little mini series about becoming an author and which route to take.
Talking about the aftermath of the release of Skye Fall, and failure of the ATL Diaries blog that could have been. Plus, new stories, new writing material and inspiration going forward.
What can you record when you're done with the book? When you're finally on the last chapter, literally the last chapter? I haven't much to say really...I'm just excited to be done with this shit. It's been over a year for this series. 400+ pages later.
Sunday Podcast. Updates for the week. We're at the end! Release dates and more!
That space between the writer and the flow of the story and my amazing and successful attempt at outlining! Discussing how to blend in multiple storylines into one chapter from one POV. Sidenote: I love my dogs. I don't fuss at them as much as I do on the recordings.
A deeper look inside Fowler and Adora's dynamic and why they might just be my favorite storyline of all time. Plus a few declarations of what I want to do for 2021.
Confusing ramblings and updates on the story. Where I am now and where I'm trying to be by next Friday.
Updates, where I am mentally and explanations on being self aware as a writer. Short but sweet.
I was caught up in another parking lot and decided to answer these questions from the reading group "Cafeteria Book Club" Covid has essentially taken over my life these past few days, even with negative results but I am determined to get back on track. Damn it.
Timed writing sessions, a chapter read with Piru Freeman and his mother and a brief discussion on Nano Month in an attempt to make plans.
Episode about about new beginnings, delays, and random family connections that tie into the book.
The birth of a new character from a scrapped idea I couldn't seem to let go.
Update of a failed release date and where I'm at with Skye Fall by using a terrible example about the flow of a river being the same as writing a story. Also random ramblings and complaints about jackfruit.
Being inspired by the wrong things or the right things during this writing time.
A few days after the book release. Well, a week after the book release and the chaos that always seems to. follow after it. My perspective on Skye Fall and where I' at now with the story while preparing the release for Fantasea. Also the difference in writing in your head vs actually writing and the math/science behind writing a series.
Updating where I am so far with Skye Fall. I recorded part of this episode while I was cooking so excuse the noise in the background, I was starving. It was lunch time and I've been writing my ass off.
This episode is an update, one of the last updates I'll ever have about this series. Alot of changes have happened. So many damn changes.
Me reading a possible deleted chapter from Skye Fall out loud, wondering if I need it anymore.
Struggling with two great ideas that I want to write on this fine Sunday and randomly coming to a light bulb of an idea in the middle of recording. Just another typical day of writing.
In this recording, I interview Shantae, and Genesis Woods from Literary Rejects and we discuss the ultimate dream of being in bookstores vs the reality hit us when all of us sat on the shelf together for the first time. We also discuss industry observations and just random ramblings that the usual phone conversation has between three awesome writers. I recommend this episode for authors and writers specifically. Readers, this ain't got nothing to do with Charmed or Skye Fall.
I got my edits back for Charmed and whew chile... It's going to be a long week of just correcting and shifting and re-reading everything but this is good. I told myself not to look at Charmed until the edits are back and focus on Skye Fall and now that I have it back, I can really perfect both stories. Plus a little side rambling about being a writer in real life and balancing personal vs work.
This episode is a recording of me attempting to read back what I've written from struggle scenes to deleted scenes, and secretly self correcting along the way. Also, update on Charmed and the name changes. Plus a mini rant at the very end.
True tale on how my storyline for Ryan being an angel came about, and maybe my fascination with angels in general. Running into the same person over and over for the last few years like a broken record on repeat.
Updates on my current series and randomly picking up the hobby of gardening and plants and realizing how obsessed I've become, and how it relates to writing. Just excited to finally be done with my novel!
The very next morning after finding the pocket fillers in the story. An idea comes through that I may or may not execute correctly in the story. Indie author of urban fiction documenting the wild, unpredictable creative journey of writing and publishing novels.
Late at night. I decided to ramble on about reading the story from the very beginning and trying to figure out what's missing. Find the pockets or chapters that aren't needed. Figure out the sequence of Charmed and realize the characters are working for me but the order of the story itself is not.
On the phone interviewing authors Shantae & Genesis Woods of Literary Rejects Pt. 2. Getting inside the head of writers and asking the basic questions before going off the rails and just enjoying the conversation.

Talking about how I randomly dug into a closet and discovered this book that opened up an entire world of stories and lives I didn't know are possible at such a young age. How reading books back then shaped the person I am today as a writer and just little tidbits and signs that I've been telling stories all my life.
Just rolled out of bed and decided to record a little after my morning writing session. This tape, I discuss the difference between having creative patience and writer's block. In terms of being stuck in the middle of writing a story you KNOW is good. Also, I listen to me struggle trying to describe Percy and Jasmine's sex scene after lighting the candles and starting the Lover's feast Spell.
Following the random ramblings of an indie urban fiction author. What goes on in her brain just before a writing session from character giving her a hard time to struggling to find inspiration to write. Recordings of me venting creativity, and documenting the journey into publishing the next novel.
