There's been a stark warning to MPs about the number of women pensioners living in poverty. The house of commons work and pensions committee has been hearing the pension system is dysfunctional, and contributing to more gender disparity, that's according to the feminist economic think tank the Women's Budget Group, which gave evidence yesterday. Anita Rani is joined by their incoming director Dr Daniella Jenkins and Sarah Pennells, consumer specialist at Royal London finance company.New figures revealed in a super-complaint suggest tens of thousands of sexual offence investigations are taking years to complete with some stretching beyond seven years to complete. Campaigners say excessive police delays are causing serious harm to survivors leaving them in limbo and may even be breaching their human rights. The complaint has been submitted by a coalition of legal and support organisations including Cambridge Rape Crisis Centre. Anita is joined by one of the co-authors, Ellie Ball, an Independent Sexual Violence Advisor Manager, who's helped survivors of sexual violence navigate the criminal justice system for over a decade.Madeleine Gray's first book Green Dot was a big hit and she's just published her second novel – Chosen Family. She joins Anita to discuss her fairy tale debut novel story, how then writing a second was daunting and why your ‘chosen family' is so important. Is there a gender gap when it comes to using AI? Journalist Olivia Petter says the men she meets are obsessed with using it but believes that women are far more cautious. Studies show women are less likely to use AI in the workplace. As the government rolls out free AI training for every UK adult, the question is: what happens if women don't feel equally confident or equally protected in this new AI driven world? Olivia and Prof Gina Neff from the  Minderoo Centre for Technology and Democracy at the University of Cambridge join Anita to discuss. Presenter: Anita Rani Producer: Corinna Jones

Breaking developments in the Aaron Spencer case. The Arkansas Supreme Court has removed Judge Barbara Elmore from the murder trial of the father who killed the man charged with raping his daughter. This is the second time the state's highest court had to intervene because of this judge. In May 2025, they struck down her gag order and called it "a plain, manifest, clear, and gross abuse of discretion." They warned her not to restrict public access without constitutional basis. Seven months later, she did it again — limiting courtroom attendance to 55 people with no overflow and no livestream. She refused to recuse. The Supreme Court removed her anyway. Now 14 Arkansas state legislators have filed a formal complaint with the Judicial Discipline Commission. Critical dashcam evidence has gone missing. The detective's testimony doesn't match how the camera actually works. And prosecutors want to use bodycam footage from three months before the shooting to argue premeditation.Aaron Spencer remains charged with second-degree murder. He's running for Lonoke County Sheriff against the man whose department arrested him. The primary is March 3rd.Judge Barbara Elmore faces no consequences. She's back on the bench Monday. A memorandum in support of a request for dismissal of a complaint is a legal document submitted to a court that outlines the reasons why a complaint should be dismissed. This type of memorandum is typically prepared by the defendant or their legal counsel and presented to the court as part of the pre-trial proceedings. In this document, the defendant usually provides legal arguments and evidence to support their request for dismissal. This could include demonstrating that the complaint fails to state a valid legal claim, that there is a lack of jurisdiction, or that there are other legal grounds for dismissal. The memorandum serves as a persuasive tool for the court, aiming to convince the judge that the complaint does not have merit and should not proceed to trial. It is important for the memorandum to be well-researched, clearly written, and supported by relevant legal precedent. In this episode we begin our look at the UMG memorandum in support of dismissing the complaint filed against them by Rodney Jones.   to contact me:bobbycapucci@protonmail.comsource:gov.uscourts.nysd.616406.41.0.pdf (courtlistener.com)

In this episode of the Level Up Claims Podcast, host Galen Hair sits down with Matthew Carlyon, attorney at Insurance Claim HQ, to explore the intersection of ethics, communication, and effective case management in property insurance claims. Matthew brings a rare perspective to the conversation, drawing from his background as a former State Bar ethics prosecutor, insurance defense attorney, and now policyholder advocate. Together, Galen and Matthew break down why communication failures—not legal mistakes—are the number one reason attorneys face disciplinary complaints, and how simple systems can prevent major problems. This episode dives deep into what ethical advocacy actually looks like in practice, why legal writing and storytelling matter more than courtroom theatrics, and how consistent file management protects both clients and professionals. Whether you're an attorney, public adjuster, or claims professional, this conversation offers practical guidance on operating with integrity while delivering strong results. Highlights: Matthew Carlyon's path from fiction writing to law and legal ethics Why most ethics complaints stem from poor client communication The importance of touching every case at least every two weeks How documentation protects attorneys and firms Legal writing as storytelling—and why it wins cases Lessons from prosecuting attorney misconduct for the State Bar Ethical advocacy vs. cutting corners in property claims The impact of climate change on Midwest property claims Systems that reduce chaos and increase accountability What "leveling up" really means in a legal career Episode Resources: Connect with Galen M. In this episode, investigative journalists Mandy Matney and Liz Farrell and attorney Eric Bland confront a troubling throughline connecting professional discipline, prosecutorial discretion, and the rapid erosion of constitutional norms. Eric recounts a chilling professional reality: an SC Bar disciplinary investigation triggered by harsh—but truthful—excise of free speech, while far more serious attorney misconduct across South Carolina goes untouched.  From there, the discussion turns to newly filed deposition testimony, and the hosts break down how witness narratives can subtly “evolve” under pressure. The final segment widens the lens to the streets of Minnesota, as the team grapples with the fatal shooting of American Nurse Alex Pretti and the alarming normalization of armed federal agents operating without transparency, judicial warrants, or visible identification. At its core, this episode asks a sobering question: What happens when the systems designed to protect justice instead punish those who challenge abuse? Bryan Kohberger generated 13 formal complaints at Washington State University in a single semester. Nick Reiner had been through 18 rehab programs and a court-ordered conservatorship. In both cases, people saw something. In both cases, according to the evidence, nothing stopped what came next. Former FBI Special Agent Robin Dreeke joins Hidden Killers for an extended analysis of institutional failure and family blind spots—two different mechanisms that allegedly allowed two tragedies to unfold despite abundant warning signs. Robin spent 21 years with the FBI, including as Chief of the Counterintelligence Behavioral Analysis Program, and he breaks down what these cases reveal about how threat assessment works—and doesn't. On Kohberger: The WSU lawsuit alleges faculty predicted he would sexually abuse students. Staff created their own "911" email alerts. Women needed security escorts. Robin explains what 13 complaints should operationally trigger and why universities choose perceived legal protection over safety. On Reiner: Nick was under LPS conservatorship oversight by a professional fiduciary—someone trained to not be fooled. It ended after one year. Robin analyzes what strategic compliance looks like, how someone becomes "institutionally fluent" enough to perform recovery, and how a family's ability to perceive danger erodes over two decades until they're sleeping in the same house with someone in crisis. Two cases, two failures, one conversation about what it takes to see the danger in front of you—and act on it.#HiddenKillers #BryanKohberger #NickReiner #RobReiner #MicheleReiner #RobinDreeke #FBI #KayleeGoncalves #ThreatAssessment #InstitutionalFailureJoin Our SubStack For AD-FREE ADVANCE EPISODES & EXTRAS!: https://hiddenkillers.substack.com/Want to comment and watch this podcast as a video? #364 - Cómo afrontar un IP Complaint en Amazon

Wizards Of Ecom (En Español)

We're going live to break down the bombshell lawsuit against Washington State University. Four families — the parents of Kaylee Goncalves, Madison Mogen, Xana Kernodle, and Ethan Chapin — are suing WSU for allegedly knowing Bryan Kohberger was dangerous and doing nothing to stop him. The 126-page filing alleges thirteen complaints in one semester, security escorts for terrified female students, professors warning colleagues about Kohberger's predatory behavior, and a supervisor more worried about getting sued by the stalker than protecting women on campus. We're answering your questions in real time: How does an institution ignore this many red flags? Does WSU's defense hinge on the victims being University of Idaho students killed off-campus? What happens if this goes to discovery and those internal emails come out? We'll also discuss what the families are really fighting for — is it money, accountability, or forcing WSU to admit what they knew on the record? Bring your questions, your theories, and your takes. This is the kind of case that exposes how institutions protect themselves at the expense of the people they're supposed to serve.#BryanKohberger #WSULawsuit #KayleeGoncalves #MadisonMogen #XanaKernodle #EthanChapin #LiveStream #TitleIX #HiddenKillersLive #UniversityAccountabilityJoin Our SubStack For AD-FREE ADVANCE EPISODES & EXTRAS!: https://hiddenkillers.substack.com/Want to comment and watch this podcast as a video? The families of Kaylee Goncalves, Madison Mogen, Xana Kernodle, and Ethan Chapin have filed a 126-page wrongful death lawsuit against Washington State University — and the allegations paint a picture of institutional failure at every level. Thirteen formal complaints against Bryan Kohberger in a single semester. Female students so terrified they needed security escorts to their vehicles. Staff creating secret email systems to warn each other when he was on the move. A professor who allegedly predicted he would become a stalker and abuser if given a PhD. And according to this lawsuit, WSU's primary concern was getting sued by Kohberger, not protecting the women he was allegedly terrorizing. We're answering your questions about how this many red flags get ignored, what Title IX actually requires, and why Kohberger was finally terminated right around the time of the murders. The victims didn't even attend WSU — they were University of Idaho students killed eight miles away. Does that matter legally? We also discuss whether this lawsuit is about money, accountability, or forcing the truth onto the public record. Steve Goncalves has made clear he wants answers. RICO targets individuals or groups involved in illegal enterprises, known as "racketeering activities," such as bribery, extortion, fraud, and money laundering.Key features of RICO include:Criminalization of Racketeering Activity: RICO makes it a federal crime to participate in, or conspire to participate in, the affairs of an enterprise through a pattern of racketeering activity.Enterprise: RICO applies to both legitimate and illegitimate enterprises, including corporations, partnerships, and other associations.Pattern of Racketeering Activity: A pattern is established by engaging in at least two instances of racketeering activity within ten years.Consequences: Individuals convicted under RICO can face substantial fines, forfeiture of assets, and imprisonment for up to 20 years per racketeering count, with potential enhancements for multiple offenses.RICO has been used extensively against organized crime syndicates, such as the Mafia, but it has also been employed in cases involving various other criminal enterprises, including drug trafficking, securities fraud, and corruption. Prosecutors often use RICO to dismantle criminal organizations by targeting not only the individuals directly involved in criminal activities but also those who facilitate or benefit from them, such as leaders, associates, and even legitimate businesses linked to the enterprise. To successfully prosecute under RICO, prosecutors must demonstrate the existence of an enterprise engaged in a pattern of racketeering activity, as well as the defendant's involvement in that enterprise and its illegal activities. RICO has been praised for its effectiveness in dismantling criminal organizations but has also faced criticism for its broad scope and potential for abuse in certain cases. In this episode, we get a look at the amended complaint that has been filed by Rodney Jones.to contact me:bobbycapucci@protonmail.comsource:gov.uscourts.nysd.616406.30.1.pdf (courtlistener.com)

The families of Kaylee Goncalves, Madison Mogen, Xana Kernodle, and Ethan Chapin are suing Washington State University, and the allegations in the lawsuit are staggering. According to the 126-page complaint filed January 7th, 2026, at least 13 formal complaints were lodged against Bryan Kohberger during his single semester as a graduate teaching assistant. Women requested security escorts. Staff developed their own warning systems. A professor allegedly said if WSU gave Kohberger a PhD, they'd hear about him harassing and sexually abusing students later. And an instructor reportedly worried that removing him could expose the university to a lawsuit. The families allege gross negligence, Title IX violations, and wrongful death—arguing the murders of their children were "foreseeable and preventable." Tonight on Hidden Killers Live, former prosecutor turned criminal defense attorney Eric Faddis breaks down the legal claims and what they mean. What does "deliberate indifference" require in court? Can the families prove the university knew the danger and chose to ignore it? What documents will emerge in discovery that WSU doesn't want the public to see? And could this lawsuit change how every university in America handles threat assessments? Bryan Kohberger wasn't invisible. He wasn't quiet. According to a new lawsuit filed by the families of his four victims, Washington State University received at least 13 formal complaints about his threatening, stalking, and predatory behavior in a single semester—and allegedly failed to act in any meaningful way. Today on True Crime Today, former FBI Special Agent Robin Dreeke breaks down what these warning signs mean from a professional threat assessment perspective. Robin served 21 years with the Bureau, including as Chief of the FBI's Counterintelligence Behavioral Analysis Program, and he specializes in understanding the behavioral patterns that precede violence. The lawsuit describes WSU faculty and staff creating informal warning systems because they felt the institution wouldn't protect them. A professor allegedly predicted Kohberger would sexually abuse students if given a PhD. Women reportedly needed security escorts to their cars. Students fled classrooms. And according to the families' complaint, WSU chose not to remove Kohberger—allegedly because doing so might expose the university to a lawsuit. Robin explains why institutions make that calculation, what 13 complaints in one semester should trigger operationally, and how threat assessment programs are supposed to function when warning signs stack up this high. The families are calling these murders "foreseeable and preventable." Robin weighs in on whether they're right—and what needs to change so this doesn't happen again.#TrueCrimeToday #BryanKohberger #WSULawsuit #KayleeGoncalves #MadisonMogen #XanaKernodle #EthanChapin #RobinDreeke #ThreatAssessment #UniversitySafetyJoin Our SubStack For AD-FREE ADVANCE EPISODES & EXTRAS!: https://hiddenkillers.substack.com/Want to comment and watch this podcast as a video? Women on the Washington State University campus built survival systems to avoid Bryan Kohberger. A tally board tracking his comments. Emails with "911" in the subject line. Security escorts to their cars. A door strategy so no one would be trapped alone with him.According to a 126-page lawsuit filed by the families of Kaylee Goncalves, Madison Mogen, Xana Kernodle, and Ethan Chapin, at least 13 formal complaints were filed against Kohberger in just three months during fall 2022. A professor who worked with predators urged colleagues to cut his funding. She told them directly: "If we give him a Ph.D., that's the guy we will hear is harassing, stalking, and sexually abusing his students."The university didn't act. Five days before four students were murdered, WSU held mandatory discrimination training for Kohberger's cohort — because of him. Less than two weeks before the killings, faculty met with him about his behavior. No decisive action was taken.Meanwhile, Bryan's sister Mel Kohberger has broken three years of silence in a New York Times interview. She describes Christmas 2022 — warning her brother about the "psycho killer on the loose" near his apartment, never imagining he was the suspect. She talks about his heroin addiction, his recovery, the childhood bullying that shaped him, and the heart she drew for him that tabloids called a "creepy drawing."The lawsuit alleges WSU calculated that a potential discrimination lawsuit from Kohberger was a bigger risk than the violence he might commit. The families of four murdered students are now demanding transparency, accountability, and reform. This wasn't a case of warning signs being missed. According to the lawsuit, they were documented and ignored.#BryanKohberger #WSULawsuit #IdahoMurders #KayleeGoncalves #MadisonMogen #XanaKernodle #EthanChapin #MelKohberger #HiddenKillers #TrueCrimeJoin Our SubStack For AD-FREE ADVANCE EPISODES & EXTRAS!: https://hiddenkillers.substack.com/Want to comment and watch this podcast as a video? Break 1: Sugar Hill Ice Skating Rink STORY 1: Dinosaur World Live returns to Gwinnett's Gas South Theater Dinosaur World Live is back—bigger, bolder, and fresh off its 2024 Olivier Award win for Best Family Entertainment. And guess what? It’s stomping into Gas South Theater on Feb. 7 for two shows. This isn’t your average dino show. Think jaw-dropping puppetry, life-sized dinosaurs so real you’ll swear they’re breathing, and a lineup that includes the mighty T. Rex, Triceratops, and more. The story? Miranda, daughter of paleontologists, grew up on a remote island surrounded by dinosaurs. Now, she’s bringing her prehistoric pals to meet you—just don’t get too close. Some of them bite. Tickets at GasSouthDistrict.com. STORY 2: Gwinnett service organizations look to Families First model to better help others LaShawna Edwards has always been a giver. It’s in her DNA. Helping others was just what her family did. So when life flipped the script and she found herself needing help? That was hard. “We’ve always been the ones giving,” she said. “To be on the other side of it? It’s rough.” Edwards, 50, had been juggling two jobs, raising her teenage sister, and caring for her mom, whose health was failing. Then came the rent hike—73%—and suddenly, they were living out of their car. What came next was Families First, a nonprofit that doesn’t just help—it acts. Edwards calls her caseworker, Angela Wylie, her “angel.” Wylie helped her find housing, food, and job resources. Edwards is still in a hotel, still searching for stability, but she’s hopeful. STORY 3: Ethics board dismisses complaint over Holtkamp's transit videos Gwinnett County Commissioner Matthew Holtkamp got some relief Tuesday when an ethics panel ruled he didn’t violate county rules by filming a video on a Ride Gwinnett bus urging voters to reject the 2024 T-SPLOST referendum. “I’ve been completely vindicated,” Holtkamp said. “This had no merit, and it’s unfortunate we had to waste resources on it.” The complaint, filed by a resident in Holtkamp’s district, claimed he improperly used county property for personal advocacy. But Holtkamp argued he paid his bus fare and had a friend—not county staff—film the video. The ethics board agreed, saying his actions didn’t break the rules. We’ll be right back Break 2: Kia Mall of Georgia - GCPL Passport STORY 4: Gwinnett County, Lawrenceville get federal funds for water and police projects Gwinnett County and Lawrenceville just scored over $2 million in federal funding for water upgrades and public safety improvements. U.S. Rep. David Scott announced the approval, with $1.09 million earmarked for Snellville’s water infrastructure—upgrading a booster station’s electrical system and adding backup power—and $1.03 million heading to the Lawrenceville Police Department. The police funds? They’ll cover new patrol cars, trauma kits, breaching tools, and other gear to boost safety for both officers and the public. “This $2.12 million investment will make a real difference,” Scott said. “Better water, safer streets—I’m proud to deliver for Gwinnett.” STORY 5: Dacula Boys Basketball Seizes Region Lead with Victory at Central Gwinnett Dacula’s boys basketball team just keeps rolling. With a nail-biting 60-57 win over Central Gwinnett on Tuesday, the Falcons snagged first place in Region 8-AAAAAA and stretched their win streak to 11 games. Now sitting at 16-1 overall and 5-0 in the region, Dacula handed Central its first region loss, dropping them to 5-1. Case Presley led the charge with 21 points, eight boards, and three assists. Josh Brown notched a double-double (10 points, 10 rebounds), while Kenny LaRue chipped in 10 points and some clutch playmaking. George Fajemirokun added six points and steady contributions all around. FALCONS: The Atlanta Falcons officially introduced Matt Ryan as their new president of football on Tuesday, and honestly, it feels like a full-circle moment. At the press conference in Flowery Branch, Ryan—who spent 14 seasons as the face of the franchise—spoke about his “unfinished business” with the team. “Since I was drafted, my mission’s been the same: help this organization win championships. We came close, had some success, but I believe we’ll get there,” he said. After retiring and working as a CBS Sports analyst, Ryan said he wasn’t looking for a new job—unless it was with the Falcons. Now, he’ll report directly to owner Arthur Blank, focusing on hiring a head coach and GM who share a unified vision. We’ll be right back. Break 3: EAGLE THEATRE And now here is Leah McGrath from Ingles Markets on raw milk We’ll have closing comments after this Break 5: Ingles Markets Signoff – Thanks again for hanging out with us on today’s Gwinnett Daily Post Podcast. In this episode of The High Performance Mindset, Dr. Cindra Kamphoff sits down with Will Bowen—founder of the global Complaint Free® movement—to explore how habitual complaining quietly erodes confidence, performance, leadership, and culture. Will shares the origin story behind the now-iconic purple bracelet and how a simple 21-day challenge became a worldwide movement impacting millions. Together, they unpack why complaining feels so automatic—even for high performers—and how awareness is the first step toward real behavior change. The conversation dives deep into the psychology of complaining, including Will's five types of complaints and his powerful GRIPE framework, revealing the hidden motives behind why people complain and the true cost it creates for teams and organizations. Will also explains the critical difference between constructive problem-solving and unproductive complaining—and how leaders can model accountability without suppressing honest feedback. This episode is a masterclass in personal ownership, confidence, and intentional response, showing how reducing complaints doesn't mean ignoring problems—it means choosing responsibility, agency, and growth.     You'll Learn: Why habitual complaining undermines confidence, mindset, and performance The five types of complaints and how to recognize them in yourself and others How the simple act of awareness (like the bracelet) accelerates behavior change The GRIPE framework and the real reasons people complain How leaders can address feedback without creating a culture of blame The difference between problem-solving and complaining—and why it matters How becoming complaint-free strengthens confidence, ownership, and agency

"Mark my word, I work with predators."That's what a Washington State University professor told her colleagues about Bryan Kohberger in the fall of 2022. She warned them. She urged them to remove him from the program. They didn't.Now, the families of all four Idaho murder victims — Kaylee Goncalves, Madison Mogen, Xana Kernodle, and Ethan Chapin — have filed a 126-page wrongful death lawsuit against WSU. The allegations paint a picture of institutional failure at every level.According to the complaint, 13 formal complaints were filed against Kohberger in just three months. The employee responsible for acting on those complaints reportedly never even spoke with him. Female students and staff built their own warning systems: tally boards, "911" emails, door strategies, security escorts. One undergraduate hid in a bathroom to avoid him.Five days before the murders, WSU held mandatory discrimination training because of Kohberger's behavior. Less than two weeks before, faculty confronted him directly. The lawsuit alleges a supervisor worried that removing Kohberger could expose WSU to a lawsuit — from him. They chose the wrong lawsuit to fear. This episode examines the full timeline, the documented red flags, and the families' fight for transparency and accountability. The murders, they argue, were "foreseeable — and, in fact, predictable."#BryanKohberger #WSULawsuit #IdahoMurders #KayleeGoncalves #MadisonMogen #XanaKernodle #EthanChapin #TitleIX #TrueCrime #IdahoFourJoin Our SubStack For AD-FREE ADVANCE EPISDOES & EXTRAS!: https://hiddenkillers.substack.com/Want to comment and watch this podcast as a video?
