On this week's episode of Artist Friendly, Joel Madden is joined by Benji Madden of Good Charlotte. Last week, Good Charlotte announced their long-anticipated return with Motel Du Cap, which the band celebrated with a late-night appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live! to perform lead single “Rejects.” As part of their first album since 2018, the song teases a promising new chapter — one inspired by Good Charlotte performing at Hotel du Cap-Eden-Roc in France for a family member's wedding. The record's title nods to that extraordinary night and its “wild, once-in-a-lifetime vibe. We were just there to celebrate, no pressure, and it reminded us why we started this — pure, unfiltered connection,” Joel says. In a conversation with his brother and bandmate, Benji opens up about defining success, staying aspirational, and the story behind his favorite track on their upcoming LP, out Aug. 8. The show opens with a less than optimal jobs report...or does it? We dive into the numbers and the difference between the public and the private sector. It looks like Hamas is ready to reject yet another ceasefire deal brokered by the Trump administration and agreed to by Israel. House Democrats put out a fear porn speech delivered by Dollar Store Obama, Rep. Hakeem Jeffries (D-NY). It looks like Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-IA) released emails today showing how the FBI intentionally hid the investigation into Chinese interference in the 2020 election, meaning former FBI Director Christopher Wray might be in for some serious legal trouble. For two months in a row, now, we have not had a single illegal released into the United States of America. At the same time, it looks like Paramount, owners of CBS News and 60 Minutes is going to settle with Trump over their edits of their interview with then VP Kamala Harris. University of Pennsylvania is apologizing to female athletes and is scrubbing their records of the cheating, confused male, Lia Thomas. Secretary of Education Linda McMahon and Riley Gaines both comment on this huge win for women and girls in sports and in their private spaces. The Democrats are raging still about how USAID has been mostly shut down. Former USAID Director Samantha Powers was on with CNN's Anderson Cooper, dropping one misrepresentation after another. So, I decided to close with an analysis of the calculated moves by Trump to cripple the Left's longstanding schemes of funneling money and using the sewer toward their own foul ends. Sean "Diddy" Combs has reportedly rejected a plea deal recently offered by federal prosecutors, signaling that he intends to fight the extensive criminal charges he is facing rather than seek an early resolution. The plea offer came as part of the sprawling investigation into allegations of sex trafficking, racketeering, drug distribution, and violent crimes connected to Combs' empire. Sources close to the case suggest the rejected deal would have required Diddy to plead guilty to multiple federal counts, likely carrying a substantial prison sentence, in exchange for avoiding a potentially even harsher outcome at trial. Instead, Combs' legal team has opted to prepare for a courtroom battle, maintaining that he is innocent of the allegations and determined to clear his name. This decision comes at a time when prosecutors appear to be intensifying their efforts, with additional grand jury subpoenas issued and rumors swirling about more cooperating witnesses stepping forward. Legal experts suggest Diddy's refusal to take the deal could either be a bold show of confidence in his defense strategy—or a risky gamble, given the breadth of evidence reportedly in federal hands, including alleged financial records, video evidence, and testimony from former associates. If convicted at trial, Diddy could face decades in federal prison, with prosecutors reportedly pushing to frame the charges under statutes carrying mandatory minimums. The stakes have now escalated dramatically, setting the stage for what could become one of the highest-profile celebrity trials in decades.to contact me:bobbycapucci@protonmail.comsource:Sean Combs rejects plea dealBecome a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/the-epstein-chronicles--5003294/support.

(Editor's Note: Welcome to our Reissue series! For the past several weeks, Basic Folk has been digging back into the archives and reposting some of our favorite episodes alongside new introductions commenting on what it's like to listen back. Enjoy! This episode featuring Lizzie No interviewing Joy Oladokun, was originally posted on February 24, 2022.)Arizona-born Joy Oladokun grew up listening to her dad's extensive record collection and falling in love with the wide and wondrous world of rock and roll. You can hear these diverse sonic influences, from Genesis to Tracy Chapman, in Joy's rootsy, contemporary, and pop-savvy 2021 album, 'in defense of my own happiness.' Of particular note are her superpowers for melody and smart repetition, which have made her a force to be reckoned with ever since she made the leap from LA to Nashville to make a life as a musician.Joy is not only a phenomenal songwriter, but she's also fearless and hilarious on social media. Believe it or not, it was Twitter that brought us together and catalyzed this Basic Folk interview. It was fascinating to hear her talk about how she uses her platform as a rising star in indie pop and folk to create the kind of world she wants to see. She's using emotional transparency as a tool for political change; she is healing in public and gently nudging others to heal as well. In new remarks for this week's baseball, history, and politics reissue, we consider the heat dome hovering over half the country and wonder what it means for baseball. Then we revisit the offensively potent but frequently discarded outfielder Roy Cullenbine and take a visit to interwar Washington for a mostly non-baseball story of political corruption. The Infinite Inning is a journey to the past to understand the present using baseball as our time machine. Baseball, America's brighter mirror, often reflects, anticipates, and even mocks the stories we tell ourselves about our world today. Baseball Prospectus's Steven Goldman discusses the game's present, past, and future with forays outside the foul lines to the culture at large. Expect history, politics, stats, and frequent Casey Stengel quotations. Along the way, we'll try to solve the puzzle that is the Infinite Inning: How do you find the joy in life when you can't get anybody out?

It's Witness Wednesday! Todd Friel is at Georgia Tech where he talks with four students about Christianity, repentance, the significance of Easter, and the resurrection of Jesus Christ. Throughout the episode, Todd emphasizes the importance of the gospel, the need for forgiveness, and the role of Jesus Christ in salvation. Segment 1: • Student claims to believe in Easter but doesn't know why the resurrection matters. • Admits he's never really examined Christianity or the reason for Jesus' death. • Politely disengages without much spiritual interest. Segment 2: • Student who is from Maryland was raised Christian but avoids saying Jesus is the only way. • Hesitant to call other religions false, even while affirming Christianity for himself. • Struggles to boldly proclaim gospel exclusivity despite claiming personal faith. Segment 3: • Yoni proudly identifies as practicing Jew but admits breaking God's laws. • Rejects the idea of needing a Messiah, preferring personal responsibility for his sin. • Hears how Old Testament sacrifices point to Jesus, but remains unconvinced. Segment 4: • Rex boldly affirms Jesus as Lord but initially struggles to explain why. • Learns how the law exposes sin and why people need forgiveness, not just a better life. • Gets coached on using the Ten Commandments to make the gospel urgent and personal. ___ Thanks for listening! According to estimations from CNN, at least 113 people were arrested on Monday. 3:15pm- While speaking from the Oval Office on Tuesday, President Donald Trump was asked about Saturday's parade in Washington D.C. to celebrate the Army's 250th birthday. Trump explained the importance of celebrating our country and its achievements, specifically referencing America's victory over authoritarianism in World War II—“We are the one that won the war. If it wasn't for us, you would be speaking German right now, ok? We won the war and—you might be speaking Japanese, too. You might be speaking a combination of both." 3:30pm- While appearing on CNN with host Dana Bash, Senator Bernie Sanders (D-VT) accused President Donald Trump of being an authoritarian for deploying the California National Guard to stifle violent outbreaks in Los Angeles. Rich asks: Does Bernie think John F.
