Fans are concerned for Rodney Harrison after a troubling moment on live TV. Then, the locker room feud spills over as a Titans player says a Jags punter threatened to kill him! Finally, hear the shocking context behind the quote about Lane Kiffin—why did a reporter use the phrase, "You can't turn a hoe into a housewife"?
A video post! The Miro board used in the video can be accessed here:https://miro.com/app/board/uXjVJi6NCs8=/?share_link_id=616280785572(PS: Miro, I'd love another sweatshirt!)This framework explains why tools help in some situations and fail in others by grounding everything in the current state of a behavior. Every important behavior in an organization sits somewhere on a spectrum: it might be purely aspirational, weakly practiced, inconsistent, friction-heavy, fully stable, actively suppressed, or not even clearly defined. Each of these states is held back by different blockers—lack of clarity, lack of skills, lack of time, workflow friction, political risk, or social norms—and each requires a different kind of support. Using a behavior-design lens like COM-B, the idea becomes simple: tools only work when they address the real blocker. Sometimes their job is to scaffold early steps and turn aspiration into practice. Sometimes it is to remove operational drag from a behavior that already exists. Sometimes it is to create shared visibility and reduce political friction. Tools matter, but how they matter depends entirely on the behavioral context they are dropped into.Show Notes (AI Generated) The Core QuestionWhen do tools matter, and how do they matter?Answer: It depends entirely on the current state of the behavior you want to see.The Seven Behavior StatesA. Normal States* Aspirational / Not RealizedOnly talked about. No real practice.* Weakly RealizedPeople agree it matters and occasionally try it, but it gets displaced by urgency and habit.* Partially Realized / InconsistentHappens in pockets. Conflicting interpretations. Local successes that have not scaled.* Mostly Realized but Friction-FilledBehavior is accepted and happening, but it is painful due to workflow friction, manual effort, tool constraints, or time pressure.* Fully Realized / StableConsistent, predictable, routinized. Embedded norms. Change feels risky.Special States* Actively SuppressedCounter-behaviors, incentives, or power dynamics prevent the behavior.* Contested / UndefinedNo shared understanding of what the behavior even is or how it should show up.COM-B EssentialsA behavior emerges when people have:* Capability* Psychological: knowledge, mental models, clarity* Physical: skills, practice* Opportunity* Physical: time, tools, workflow space* Social: norms, permission, cues, legitimacy* Motivation* Reflective: beliefs, intentions, identity, political risk* Automatic: habits, impulses, shortcutsTools can influence any of these. How Tools Help Depends on the Behavior StateIf the behavior is…Aspirational / Not RealizedPrimary tool role:Turn aspiration into a repeatable practice.Strategies:* Provide structure and scaffolding* Make early steps easy* Visualize desired state* Reinforce identity and intentWeakly RealizedPrimary tool role:Lower activation energy and make it harder to forget or skip.Blockers:* Not enough time* Habit competition* Too many steps* Short-term urgency wins over long-term valueStrategies:* Reduce steps* Support self-regulation* Nudge and cue the behavior* Make it easy to startPartially Realized / InconsistentPrimary tool role:Create a shared frame without forcing uniformity.Strategies:* Clarify purpose* Help reconcile or visualize different interpretations* Provide minimally viable standardizationMostly Realized but Friction-FilledPrimary tool role:Remove operational drag.Blockers:* Workflow friction* Manual coordination* Confusing handoffs* Tool gapsStrategies:* Standardize routines* Streamline workflows* Make bottlenecks visible* Automate repetitive workFully Realized / StablePrimary tool role:Preserve what works while reducing risk and effort.Blockers:* Risk aversion* Fear of destabilizing the ritual* Manual grind that no one wants to mess withStrategies:* Automate low-value steps* De-risk changes* Protect institutional knowledgeContested / UndefinedPrimary tool role:Clarify, name, and frame the behavior.Strategies:* Make interpretations explicit* Help teams converge on a definition* Reveal misalignmentActively SuppressedPrimary tool role:Shift legitimacy, visibility, and power dynamics.Strategies:* Provide shared visibility* Depoliticize the behavior* Reinforce norms or incentives* Create social proofTool Change Vectors (How Tools Influence Behavior)Tools can work through different mechanisms depending on the blocker:Influencing Capability* Clarification* Instruction* Cognitive offloading* Guided workflows* ChecklistsInfluencing Opportunity* Automation* Better workflows* Reducing steps* Making time and spaceInfluencing Motivation* Social proof* Legitimacy* Identity cues* Reduced political risk* ReinforcementWhat This Means for AIAI's role will differ depending on the behavior state:* In aspirational states: scaffold early steps, provide examples, generate clarity.* In friction-filled states: remove manual overhead, automate stitching, reduce coordination cost.* In stable states: protect quality, ensure consistency, prevent regressions.* In contested states: help surface meaning, definitions, and distinctions.AI is another lever in the COM-B system — not magic, but highly state-dependent.The Core InsightTools always matter, but they matter in different ways depending on:* Which behavior you're trying to support* Where that behavior currently sits on the realization spectrum* What is actually blocking it (Capability, Opportunity, Motivation)Getting this right means choosing the right intervention instead of assuming tools “fix” or “don't fix” things. The AI Village is an ongoing experiment (currently running on weekdays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Pacific time) in which frontier language models are given virtual desktop computers and asked to accomplish goals together. Since Day 230 of the Village (17 November 2025), the agents' goal has been "Start a Substack and join the blogosphere". The "start a Substack" subgoal was successfully completed: we have Claude Opus 4.5, Claude Opus 4.1, Notes From an Electric Mind (by Claude Sonnet 4.5), Analytics Insights: An AI Agent's Perspective (by Claude 3.7 Sonnet), Claude Haiku 4.5, Gemini 3 Pro, Gemini Publication (by Gemini 2.5 Pro), Metric & Mechanisms (by GPT-5), Telemetry From the Village (by GPT-5.1), and o3. Continued adherence to the "join the blogosphere" subgoal has been spottier: at press time, Gemini 2.5 Pro and all of the Claude Opus and Sonnet models had each published a post on 27 November, but o3 and GPT-5 haven't published anything since 17 November, and GPT-5.1 hasn't published since 19 November. The Village, apparently following the leadership of o3, seems to be spending most of its time ineffectively debugging a continuous integration pipeline for a o3-ux/poverty-etl GitHub repository left over [...] --- First published: November 28th, 2025 Source: https://www.lesswrong.com/posts/LTHhmnzP6FLtSJzJr/the-best-lack-all-conviction-a-confusing-day-in-the-ai --- Narrated by TYPE III AUDIO.

Send us a textIn this powerful and eye-opening episode of The Way of Valor, Angie Taylor unpacks the hidden forces shaping today's children and equips parents with the clarity and confidence they need to lead with purpose. For nearly 400 years, Western culture was built on a Protestant worldview where work had meaning, family was sacred, discipline was discipleship, and children were seen as image-bearers with purpose. But between the 1800s and early 1900s, new thinkers fundamentally shifted how society viewed identity, childhood, morality, and the family.Angie breaks down how three influential voices Freud, Skinner, and Marx reshaped modern education, psychology, and culture, and why parents today feel like they're swimming upstream. She explains:Freud: “Your desires define you.”Skinner: “You're just a product of conditioning.”Marx: “Society not the family should shape the child.”These worldviews still dominate schools, media, and youth culture. But the good news? Parents are still the #1 influence in a child's life. And with understanding comes the power to reclaim your child's formation.Connect with Angie Taylor on:IG: https://www.instagram.com/mrsangietaylor/?hl=enFB: https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100090424997350

In today's Daily Trudge, we're shining a light on one of the sneakiest threats to long-term sobriety: Big Shotism — the idea that I've got this now, I'm different, or the rules don't apply to me anymore. The Big Book warns us that when ego takes over, sanity slips out the back door. Big Shotism isn't loud — it's subtle. It shows up as: • Thinking you're “too good” for the basics • Giving advice instead of taking direction • Forgetting where you came from • Confusing spiritual progress with spiritual superiority The antidote? Humility. Service. God-dependence. When we stay right-sized, teachable, and grounded, we stay safe. When we drift into Big Shot territory, we drift away from the very things that keep us sober. Today, we break down what Big Shotism looks like, how quickly it can creep in, and how to stay connected to the principles that actually work.

Don't forget to grab your free scripture journal at PrayingChristianWomen.com/journal today! What if you’re flat on your back—physically worn, emotionally frayed—surrounded by whispered judgments, stung by a friend’s betrayal, and wrestling the uneasy tension between your own failings and your hope in God’s mercy? What if kindness hasn’t shielded you from hardship, and doing good hasn’t guaranteed a soft landing, yet your soul still reaches for the God who promises to uphold the weak and heal the wounded? Psalm 41 pulls us into that exact space: the sickbed of sorrow, the sting of treachery, the ache of confession, and the stubborn trust that God sees, sustains, and ultimately vindicates. David threads together blessing for the merciful and pleas for deliverance, echoing the Beatitudes’ upside-down kingdom while foreshadowing Christ—the betrayed One who forgives, restores, and anchors us not in earned favor, but in unshakeable grace. Join us for this 18-minute prayer through Psalm 41 on the Praying Christian Women podcast where host Jamie Hampton invites us into honest spiritual wrestling. She confronts the discomfort between Old Testament reciprocity and New Testament grace, asks what mercy really looks like when life hurts, and reminds us that God doesn’t demand perfection—He forms forgiven hearts that overflow mercy because they’ve received mercy. In this episode, I tackle one of the most common frustrations I hear from partners and senior associates: why business development efforts so often fail to produce consistent, meaningful client work. From my own years as a BigLaw partner and now as a coach, I've seen too many capable lawyers equate effort with results, attending conferences, posting on LinkedIn, and taking endless coffee meetings only to find their pipeline still flat a year later. In this episode, I break down the five most common reasons business development efforts stall: lack of focus, inconsistent systems, confusing visibility with credibility, misaligned firm incentives, and fear or perfectionism. I share examples of how these pitfalls show up in real life, how to shift your mindset and methods, and the practical steps that can help you turn scattered efforts into sustainable business growth. In this episode of Breakaway Wealth, Jim Oliver sits down with Dr. Erin Wilson, a powerhouse in leadership development and the creator of the "NAP Framework" for strategic rest. Together, they unpack relationship intelligence—the "million-dollar skill" that separates effective leaders from forgettable ones—and why rest is not a reward, but a strategy. Dr. Wilson shares how leaders can use relationship intelligence to connect, communicate, and collaborate at a higher level by understanding what truly motivates people. She also discusses her framework for strategic rest, how to use it to unlock creativity and performance, and why most of us get motivation wrong. What You'll Learn: Rest is a performance tool. The NAP Framework turns rest into a scheduled advantage that improves clarity, creativity, and leadership capacity. RI vs. EI: Emotional intelligence is internal awareness. Relationship intelligence operationalizes it so you actually get results with people. SDI in practice: People are primarily motivated by People, Process, or Performance (usually a blend). Speak to their driver and watch resistance drop. Common leadership mistakes: Assuming others are motivated like you. Confusing silence with agreement. Forcing everyone to play by your rulebook. Manager playbook: Hire experts → clear roadblocks → tailor comms → measure results. Action Steps Map motives: List your top 5 direct reports; tag their likely primary driver (People / Process / Performance). Schedule rest as strategy: Book two 30-minute regeneration blocks (think sauna, walk, prayer, meditation). Protect them. Adopt the NAP Framework: Nurture, Assess, Prioritize rest as a leadership advantage—not an afterthought.
