The PBC is currently available in 6 countries and more than 70 cities across the US. The PBC planning team comes up with a theme for each month. Episode 065. “We will lose something very, very fundamental to what it is to be human if we start interacting solely online.” ~Adela Mizrachi Want an inspiring story about the power of personal passion coupled with organic audience growth? Excellent because we’re talking six continent expansion!  Looking to add just one more podcast to your queue? Great! Podcast Envy is about to tumble down the glorious rabbit hole that is Podcast Brunch Club, a “little weird project” Adela Mizrachi created in 2015 as a way to get together with like-minded listeners (as opposed to creators) for food, conversation and podcast camaraderie. Today, the book club for podcasts boasts 80 chapters around the globe and has recorded close to 100 of its own episodes - all in just five years. With the pandemic shuttering restaurants and drastically limiting gatherings, in real life feels like a foreign concept now. The pause is giving Adela time to consider ways of finally monetizing her highly successful “little weird project”. In the meantime, she spends her free time working on the PBC podcast and its social media.  “I think the beauty of Podcast Brunch Club is giving everybody else a voice and giving everybody else the space to talk to each other.” Eventually, in person and with waffles.  CONNECT WITH ADELA AND PODCAST BRUNCH CLUB: Podcast Brunch Club Facebook Instagram Twitter Get the full show notes, resources, and links at: http://www.thecreativeimpostor.com/podenvy065   Podcast Angel:Launch Your Podcast Zoom Class  Tune in for this interactive overview of crafting a podcast you and your audience will love! With today’s episode, we’re starting something new. On November 12, 2019, Harvard Business Press will be releasing a new version of my book Disrupt Yourself. As a countdown of sorts, we’re going to spend the next seven episodes focusing on the seven-point framework of personal disruption. These seven accelerants help you manage through – even embrace change - whether at work or at home. Today, we’ll be talking about accelerant one - taking the right risks. We covered this in-depth in episode 100, and we’ll link to that in the show notes, but in short, we take the right risks when we take on market risk instead of competitive risk and play where others aren’t playing. My guest today is a great example of a person taking on market risk - Adela Mizrachi, founder of the Podcast Brunch Club. Links and free resource available at https://whitneyjohnson.com/129

The idea behind this show is pretty simple: We invite scholars, makers, and professionals out to brunch for an informal conversation about their work, and then we turn those brunches into a podcast. It’s a tough job, but somebody has to do it.Like us, Adela Mizrachi works in communications at a university, but that’s not the reason we asked her to come on the show. At least not the main one.See, Adela is also the founder of something called Podcast Brunch Club, which interested us because … well, for the exact reason you’d expect. So we, a podcast that records over brunch, invited her out to brunch, to talk about Podcast Brunch Club, the Podcast Brunch Club podcast, and trends in podcasting as a whole.Did we mention podcasts? Or brunch? And fun story: Since we recorded this interview, one of our very own listeners, Joseph Caudle, has started a Podcast Brunch Club chapter right here in South Bend. There are currently more than 60 such chapters around the world.LINKSPodcast Brunch Club website: podcastbrunchclub.comForbes Q&A with Adela: Is The Podcast Club The New Book Club?
