This week I spoke with Jezmina Von Thiele and Paulina Stevens, co-hosts of the Romanistan podcast. I talked to them about the tragic fires in LA and their advice on navigating dark times and finding personal and collective resilience. They shared advice on healing and self-care during crises, looking at the tarot card of the year, what they do when they're feeling uninspired or creatively blocked, embracing resilience, and the importance of bringing diverse perspectives to ancient traditions. Their new book, Secrets of Romani Fortune-Telling, introduces the history of the Romani people and their long-standing relationship with fortune-telling, exploring techniques like card reading, palmistry, dream interpretation, and tea leaf and coffee reading, many of which were created or popularized by the Roma. We discussed their distinct cultural upbringings—Paulina's roots in a traditional Romani community and Jezmina's mixed heritage—and how they each work with people today. And at the end they each pulled a card that's meant to be a message of anyone who listens. It's just me this week, delivering a dispatch that feels more like a voice note to a friend than a typical interview. I centered this around how the so-called "irony epidemic" has shaped the way I work, write, and share my projects in a culture that often resists earnestness. I reflect on the push/pull between sincerity and detachment, the ways we seek validation both online and offline, and how group chats, community, and connection factor into it all. Plus, why being “goo prone” might just be the most human thing of all.Show notes:- Find me on IG: @letitouttt + @katiedalebout | Substack- Magic Mind: get up to 48% off your first subscription or 20% off one-time purchases with code: LETITOUT- Submit a question for our q&a episode: write them here OR record here and we'll play it on the episode! So, let's talk about my experience at the ClickFunnels conference and the upcoming changes to keep an eye on in our content… I'm very excited about this week's podcast because I'm just coming back from a conference that I look forward to every single year. And if you've been following me long enough, you'll know that I'm not talking about a medical conference here. Not that I hate medical conferences, but the ones that get me really hyped and energized are just so far from medicine. And today, I'm going to share with you my experiences at that virtual ClickFunnels conference, along with my plans to provide more and more content. This won't be a technical discussion but more of an introduction—to where I'm going, to educate more people and expand our reach. So, if you want to learn how we plan to grow and get bigger and better for you, guys, join us in this week's episode as we discuss the role of marketing in empowering you to take control of your health one disease at a time. Why you need to check this episode: - Recognize the importance of marketing in education, especially in the field of health and medicine; - Discover how the act of treating patients as customers can revolutionize healthcare and patient experience; - Learn about Dr. Berry Pierre's plans for future content—plans aimed at helping grow, better, and empower the community “I understood that as a physician, just being smart medically wasn't going to be enough if I wanted to educate the community I needed to educate at a bigger level. Like, yes, I can educate the person who comes into my office or the person who I see in a hospital. But then, there are hundreds and thousands or millions of people who won't get the education needed because of access reasons, trust reasons, [or] the fact that there's so much bad information that they have to sift through. So, I understood that I needed to not only put my medical thinking hat on but put a different hat on, which was the marketing and everything else kind of under the sun.” – Dr. Berry Pierre Notable Quotes: “I tell doctors all the time: If instead of calling patients ‘patients', you call them ‘customers', you would probably treat them a little better.” – Dr. Berry Pierre “Like I said, we've been doing this for going on 15 years now, and I'm always excited that even in year 15 [or] 14—whatever time frame it is, we still have ways to grow and get bigger and better for you guys.” – Dr. Berry Pierre “I think all of these things here are going to continue to be great drivers for us that again empower ourselves for better health.” – Dr. Berry Pierre Mentions: ClickFunnels Lamar Tyler Autism in Black Inc. 13:8 But Elymas the sorcerer (for so is his name by interpretation) withstood them, seeking to turn away the deputy from the faith. 13:9 Then Saul, (who also is called Paul,) filled with the Holy Ghost, set his eyes on him. 13:10 And said, O full of all subtilty and all mischief, thou child of the devil, thou enemy of all righteousness, wilt thou not cease to pervert the right ways of the Lord? 13:11 And now, behold, the hand of the Lord is upon thee, and thou shalt be blind, not seeing the sun for a season. And immediately there fell on him a mist and a darkness; and he went about seeking some to lead him by the hand. 13:12 Then the deputy, when he saw what was done, believed, being astonished at the doctrine of the Lord.

Take a moment to settle into your space……….. Feel the surface beneath you supporting your body……….. Notice the rise and fall of your breath………..PAUSE As you inhale…….. imagine drawing in peace and calm……… As you exhale……. release any tension….. worries……..or things that are not serving you… Continue to breathe deeply and gently……. allowing your breath to anchor you to the present moment………PAUSE Let's start by relaxing your body……….. Begin at the top of your head……….. With each breath……… let the muscles in your forehead and around your eyes soften…… Release any tightness in your jaw and let your lips part slightly……… Feel this relaxation travel down your neck and shoulders……… Letting go of any burdens you may be carrying………… Allow your arms to rest comfortably……..releasing any tension in your hands and fingers…… Feel the warmth of relaxation spreading through your chest and down into your abdomen………. Notice your breath becoming even more rhythmic and serene…………..PAUSE Continue this wave of relaxation down your legs……… letting it flow through your thighs……. knees…….. and calves……… Finally……. let go of any remaining tension in your ankles and feet………. You are completely relaxed…….. grounded…….and ready to embrace this new beginning…. Imagine yourself standing at the entrance of a beautiful garden……… This is your Garden of Renewal……… The air is fresh…… and the sky above is a serene shade of blue……. As you step into the garden……. you feel a sense of peace wash over you……. Look around and notice the vibrant flowers in full bloom……. Symbolizing the various aspects of your life……… They were planted as a tiny seed….a spark of thought and inspiration….. Look how they are growing……. Each flower represents a different area of your life where you seek renewal……. Take a moment to admire their beauty and variety……PAUSE In the center of the garden……..there is a wishing well……. It is surrounded by moss…flowers and trees…….. Walk towards it and notice how the sunlight dances all around it…….. This wishing well represents the flow of new opportunities and possibilities in your life…… Wishes coming true………. Gaze into the well……close your eyes and see and feel your dreams.….PAUSE Dreams coming true…… New beginnings are transforming for you…….. You can feel it in your being……. You make a wish and toss a penny in……… Envision what you want to grow from this wish…….. It could be a new project……a personal goal…..or a desired change in your life…… As you do……..let these affirmations flow into your being…….. Repeat silently or aloud………..PAUSE

Ben & Rob take a bite of ‘Abigail', the 2024 horror comedy from the directors of ‘Ready or Not' Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett. When six criminals kidnap a young vampire, they swiftly become child's prey rather than child predators. Starring Alisha Weir as the titular character alongside Melissa Barrera, Dan Stevens, Kathryn Newton, Will Catlett, Kevin Durand, Angus Cloud, and Giancarlo Esposito, ‘Abigail' made a profit at the box office, reviewed well and caught Ben's attention for it's clear love of eighties B-Horror.But is this bite of a movie worth the chew on our show? Can Rob find anything in this film he can enjoy? And what's the biggest animal our co-hosts could beat in a bare knuckle fight to the death?CONSUUUME to find out all this and much, much more!PLUS! This week, Dr. Stanton Hom is back for another solocast featuring a preview of some of the exciting new updates taking place with the Future Generations Podcast. He will begin by reiterating the original mission and values of this podcast and what that looks like moving forward, through a fresh new lens. Tune in to hear what we have in store for our loyal listeners and how these transformative conversations will continue to catalyze the expression of our planetary and human potential. Quotes: "What people don't recognize is that no one censors us more than we censor ourselves." – Dr. Stanton Hom "You at a spiritual level need to have ownership over your own consciousness, your own choices, and your own bodily autonomy." – Dr. Stanton Hom "Our vision is a world where transparency and humility are normalized while maximizing our certainty for humanity. We aim to empower by shining light in areas of our greatest ignorance." – Dr. Stanton Hom "Ego is actually the enemy. And that's something that we all have to surrender to. We all have to recognize that there's a humbleness that has to be a part of our normal operating procedure moving forward." – Dr. Stanton Hom "Our deepest need is to be free and whether we are aware or not, our freedoms are infringed upon strategically by every industry on the planet." – Dr. Stanton Hom "It's not a matter of if; it's a matter of when we succeed. And in my view, I can't tell you how committed or more committed I am. And I can't tell you how inspired and deeply moved by this next chapter." – Dr. Stanton Hom Key Takeaways: Welcome challenges as opportunities for growth and learning, always remembering to stay humble in our pursuit of knowledge. Believe in the abundance of nature and our self-healing capabilities. When we face scarcity, let's see it as a chance to transform ourselves. Daily tasks, jobs, and roles can regularly leave us feeling depleted and run down. In addition, our stubborn human hearts often deter us from dealing with sin, conflict, and emotion. Besides that, we are finite beings and simply run out of our own meager supply of goodness. Left to ourselves, we are going to fall short every single time. - Megan Evans SUBSCRIBE to our sister podcasts: The Crosswalk Devotional: https://www.lifeaudio.com/crosswalk-devotional Your Daily Bible Verse: https://www.lifeaudio.com/your-daily-bible-verse Discover more Christian podcasts at lifeaudio.com and inquire about advertising opportunities at lifeaudio.com/contact-us.
