I have been on a nutrition journey for several years and have sought out foods and supplements to help balance my gut bacteria, improve skin, mental clarity, and even help me shed a few pounds of fat. When I heard Shawn Stevenson talking about his new book on a couple of podcasts this week, I felt like much of the information I have read over the last several years is finally getting the attention it deserves. I wanted to share some highlights of what I have learned with you, in case you want to start your own nutrition journey. The inspiration for this week's episode came from the following: Eat Smarter by Shawn Stevenson The Mind-Gut Connection by Emeran Mayer, MD This Is Your Brain On Food by Uma Naidoo, MD The Official Sirt Food Diet by Aidan Goggins and Glen Matten The following podcasts are also worth a listen: Wellness Mama The Model Health Show

I was recently interviewed on TV about Adele's dramatic recent weight loss, I didn't have all the information and misunderstood what she was actually doing. I wanted to set the record straight and invite my good friend and creator of the Sirtfood Diet (what she is ACTUALLY doing) Aidan Goggins onto the Podcast to tell us what this scientifically sound programme actually is!.
Yes! There are foods that actually make us fitter, leaner, and healthier. The more we eat – the better the effect. (Some of the foods are chocolate, coffee, strawberries). They do so by activating an ancient family of genes they call them Sirtuins. Sirtuins are master metabolic regulators that control our ability to burn fat and stay healthy. SirtFoods speak to our sirtuin genes, switching them on. In essence they mimic the effects of fasting and exercise and in doing so bring remarkable benefits of burning fat, building muscle, and boosting health, which were previously unattainable.
