Making Every Effort in 2026 | 2 Peter 1:5–9

“In view of all this, make every effort to respond to God’s promises. Supplement your faith with a generous provision of moral excellence, and moral excellence with knowledge, and knowledge with self-control, and self-control with patient endurance, and patient endurance with godliness, and godliness with brotherly affection, and brotherly affection with love for everyone. The more you grow like this, the more productive and useful you will be in your knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. But those who fail to develop in this way are shortsighted or blind, forgetting that they have been cleansed from their old sins.” (2 Peter 1:5–9 NLT) Many people make resolutions this time of the year. Some are going to swear off alcohol or smoking or social media or unhealthy eating. Others are going to try to change destructive habits like gossip or worry or losing their temper. Many people will try to start new habits like exercising. Health clubs love the beginning of the year because people love to commit to going to the gym and working out three to five times a week. The problem is, most people never follow through on their resolutions because they weren’t serious in the first place. There are other, more important, resolutions for you to focus on as we begin 2026. There are godly habits to develop and ungodly habits to break. Horace Mann once said, “Habit is a cable; we weave a thread each day, and at last we cannot break it.” That can be a good thing or a bad thing, depending on the habit. This New Year, make a concerted effort to develop godly habits—habits that cannot be broken and that will build others up in their love for the Lord. The words of the apostle Peter in 2 Peter 1:5–9 offer a good starting point. But those who fail to develop in this way are shortsighted or blind, forgetting that they have been cleansed from their old sins” (NLT). Peter emphasizes that difference-making spiritual growth is a process. It doesn’t involve reaching certain plateaus according to a specific timetable. The important thing is that we prioritize spiritual growth in our life, that we make consistent progress as we grow in our relationship with Christ. That’s the kind of habit we should pursue. That’s the kind of resolution we should strive for. Reflection question: How can you apply the words of 2 Peter 1:5–9 as you work to develop godly habits—or break ungodly habits—in 2026? How Much Do I Need to Retire? Rethinking the Number, the Risk, and the Cash Flow

The Couple With $8.5 Million… and One Salad “Bruce, I'm afraid we're going to run out of money.” He had over $8.5 million across different accounts. They were in their early 70s. On paper, they were far ahead of where most people ever get. https://www.youtube.com/live/L4phmdaJydw But his fear was so real that when they went out to dinner, his wife shared a salad instead of ordering her own—because he was afraid they “couldn't afford” it. This is what we see over and over again. People obsess over the question “how much do I need to retire?”They chase a number. They hit that number—or get close to it.And still feel anxious, fragile, and uncertain. The problem isn't just the money. The problem is the model. The Couple With $8.5 Million… and One SaladWhy “How Much Do I Need to Retire?” Is the Wrong First QuestionHow Much Do I Need to Retire? Rethinking the Real QuestionListen to the Full Episode on How Much Do I Need to RetireBook A Strategy CallFAQ: How Much Do I Need to Retire? How much do I need to retire comfortably? How do I know if I have enough to retire? What is sequence of return risk in retirement? What is a retirement buffer account? Is whole life insurance good for retirement income? How can I create guaranteed income in retirement without a pension? How much income do I need in retirement each month? How can my retirement plan serve future generations? Why “How Much Do I Need to Retire?” Is the Wrong First Question If you've ever typed how much do I need to retire or how much money do I need to retire into Google, you're not alone. The financial industry has trained us to believe that the right “number” equals security. But that question is incomplete. It ignores: How long you'll live How much you'll actually spend How many emergencies will show up What taxes and inflation will do What sequence of returns your investments will experience In this article, Bruce and I will help you: Understand why “how much do I need to retire” is the wrong question to start with See the difference between retirement cash flow vs nest egg Grasp sequence of return risk in retirement with simple examples Learn how a retirement buffer account can protect you Use the LIFE acronym for retirement planning (Liquid, Income, Flexible, Estate) Explore cash flowing assets, alternative investments, and whole life insurance in retirement Rethink retirement itself—from an “out of service” event to a purposeful, gradual transition My goal is to empower you to take control of your financial life with clarity, not fear. How Much Do I Need to Retire? Why That Question Is Misleading The classic commercial asked, “What's your number?” People walked around carrying a big orange figure that supposedly represented what they needed to retire. Here's the problem: That number assumes: A set rate of return A set withdrawal rate No major disruptions And that you won't touch your principal But real life is not a straight-line projection. When you ask how much do I need to retire, you're usually really asking: “How can I have enough cash flow for as long as I'm alive, without living in fear?” The issue is not just how much you have—it's how that wealth behaves under stress and how it converts into dependable income. Retirement Cash Flow vs Nest Egg: What You Really Need Traditional planning focuses on accumulation: “If I can just get to $X million, I'll be fine.” But what you actually live on is cash flow, not the size of your account statement. You need to know: How much income do I need in retirement each month? Which part of that income is guaranteed and which part is variable How that income will behave if markets drop or inflation spikes If you have $2 million but no idea how to turn that into reliable, sustainable cash flow, you will feel fragile. If you have a mix of guaranteed income in retirement plus flexible cash flowing assets, even a smaller nest egg can feel much more secure. The question isn't just how much money do I need to retire, but how do I design cash flow that will last? Sequence of Return Risk in Retirement: Why Timing Matters More Than Averages The industry loves to tell you that “the market averages 10% over time.” That's nice trivia—but it's not how your life works. If you're accumulating, you can ride out the ups and downs. If you're retired and pulling money out, the sequence of returns can make or break you. Here's a simple illustration: Start with $100,000 Year 1: -20% → now you have $80,000 Year 2: +20% → now you have $96,000 The average return is 0% (-20 + 20 / 2).But your actual money is down $4,000. Now imagine that on top of the losses, you're pulling out 4–6% per year to live. Suddenly, the portfolio has to recover the market loss and everything you withdrew. That's sequence of return risk explained with examples—and why relying solely on averages is dangerous. Building a Retirement Buffer Account to Protect Your Portfolio One of the most powerful ways to address sequence of return risk in retirement is using a retirement buffer account. The idea is simple: When markets are down, you do not take distributions from your volatile assets. Instead, you live off a separate, safe buffer of liquid capital. This buffer could be: Cash in the bank CDs or other stable vehicles Cash value in a well-designed whole life insurance policy How a buffer account protects your retirement portfolio: It gives your market-based assets time to recover It reduces the risk of selling low during downturns It lowers emotional stress when headlines scream “market crash” You're no longer forced to sell when everything is on sale. The LIFE Acronym for Retirement Planning: Liquid, Income, Flexible, Estate To make this practical, we often walk clients through the LIFE acronym for retirement planning: L – LiquidHow much “15-minute money” do you need to feel comfortable? This is money you can access quickly for emergencies or peace of mind—not dependent on your cash flow plan. I – IncomeHow much income do you need each month? How much of that would you like guaranteed? This is where retirement income planning really happens. F – FlexibleThis is liquid money that's not earmarked for emergencies or core living expenses. It's for things like trips, special projects, and helping kids or grandkids. It's the “I can do this without stress” bucket. E – EstateHow much do you want to leave behind, and in what form? This is where how to make your retirement plan serve future generations becomes part of the design. A well-designed mix of cash, whole life insurance, and other assets can touch every part of LIFE: Liquid, Income, Flexible, and Estate. Problems With Traditional Retirement Planning and the 4 Percent Rule Traditional planning often rests on: A withdrawal rule (4% or 5%) Market-based portfolios Historical averages and Monte Carlo simulations But as Bruce mentioned: A 100-year average doesn't matter if you're retired for 20 years Inflation erodes real purchasing power Market volatility plus withdrawals increase fragility Focusing only on accumulation creates emotional anxiety This is why cash flow vs accumulation in retirement planning is such an important shift. When you're not dependent on markets going up every year just so you can eat, your whole experience of retirement changes. Redefining Retirement: Gradual Retirement vs Traditional “Out of Service” Nelson Nash used to remind us: Retirement, by definition, means “taken out of service.” Most of us don't want to be taken out of service; we want to stay useful, engaged, and purposeful. Instead of a hard stop at 65, consider redefining retirement as a gradual retirement vs traditional retirement: Negotiating part-time work or consulting Reducing hours instead of walking away completely Staying in the game mentally, physically, and relationally We've seen engineers move to 10 hours a week, seasoned professionals mentor younger staff, and business owners step back from daily operations while still contributing. Purposeful work, even part-time, can: Supplement your retirement income Reduce pressure on your portfolio Keep you sharp and connected Retirement doesn't have to mean being benched. Cash-Flowing Assets and Alternative Investments for Retirement Cash Flow Another powerful way to support retirement is shifting some focus from growth-only assets to cash flowing assets for retirement. Examples include: Dividend-paying stocks Real estate (direct ownership or funds) Private lending Certain alternative investments for retirement For accredited investors, there are a variety of alternative investments for retirement cash flow: Multifamily apartment funds Industrial and distribution center funds Certain energy or infrastructure programs Technology and telecom infrastructure (like tower or data assets) These are not guaranteed and require careful due diligence, but they're often backed by real underlying assets and designed with yield in mind.

Cabral! Hope you and your family are well.. I'm wondering about some ingredients in supplements, how to know which are ok? Have you maybe done a podcast about it ? It would be great to have a check list when it comes to supplements, please.. For example, gellan gum? You've said xanthan gum is not ok, guar is ok, what about the others? And I am wondering about other ingredients as well, fillers and additives.. which are ok and which are not Thank you so much! Happy healing to everyone!                                                                                                                                                      Rachel: Love your podcast thank you for all you do and hope to become an IHP one day! Anyway, this question is about my Dad. I have been doing some research, but would love your advice. He is 66 years old with diabetes and takes metformin. He has recently developed the early onset of neuropathy in his foot. What can he do to help slow the progression or even reserve the neuropathy? Supplement suggestions or diet advice? Thanks so much!                            Sarah: Hi Dr. Cabral! Will you please suggest an all natural method to get rid of flat warts I have all over my legs? I did run the big five labs and I've been working on all the imbalances for six months now, but the flat warts have not budged. Thank you so much for all you do!                                                                                                                                               Tony: Hello Dr. Cabral, Suffered some early trauma and have had chronic stress most of my life. Never ate vegetables and fruits growing up. Now, @34 I have sibo, dysbiosis, leaky gut and nervous system dysregulation. Working on them with the DESTRESS protocol, and therapy. Wondering how to introduce new foods. I'm not kidding when I say I've been on a restricted diet my whole life and new foods cause immune flares and can tank me for a few days. I'm sure like the graduated exercise program in IHP, it's about introducing them slowly and letting the immune system adapt, but wondering if you had any tips on food expansion. Ran the big 5. Low potassium/sodium. DHEA of 3, some yeast and fungal markets elevated. Want to regulate nervous system and repair my gut over the next 12 months. Thanks!                    Kelsey: Hi Dr. Cabral! Hoping you can shed some light on this. After coming off hormonal birth control earlier this year, my cycle has been irregular and my PMS symptoms have become intense. I'm wondering how long it typically takes the endocrine system to rebalance? I'm also curious if supporting the liver or increasing certain micronutrients might help speed the process. This led to the "Low Fat" craze, where manufacturers removed fat from food but replaced it with massive amounts of sugar to make it taste good. The "Ancel Keys" Effect: Discuss the "Seven Countries Study." Keys famously cherry-picked data to prove fat was bad, conveniently leaving out countries (like France and West Germany) that ate lots of fat but had low heart disease. The "Profit" Motive: A cured diabetic buys no drugs. A managed diabetic is a customer for life. Is the push against "Keto" (which can reverse Type 2) actually about protecting pharmaceutical revenue?-https://diabetesjournals.org/care/article/34/Supplement_2/S132/28705/Hypoglycemia-and-Cardiovascular-Risks-https://news.un.org/en/story/2023/07/1138732Tune in and listen to the discussion. Are you taking a bone supplement to improve your DEXA bone density score? Did you hear that strontium, a molecule found in some bone supplements, may increase risk of heart attack and blood clotting? I did! And that freaked me out. So, what did I do? Contacted my bone doctor bestie Dr. Doug Lucas to sort this all out. Dr Doug Lucas is a leading osteoporosis and bone health specialist who gives us clarity in this short episode, especially if you're taking AlgaeCal or considering adding strontium to your routine. We cover: ·   If strontium falsely inflates DEXA scores ·   The difference between strontium ranelate and strontium citrate ·   Do they really lower fracture risk ·   What's more important? Bone quality or bone density? ·   Which scans can show bone strength? ·   What happens when we stop strontium ·   What women should actually focus on for fracture prevention   Dr. Doug Lucas is a leading expert in osteoporosis and longevity medicine. As a double board-certified physician and founder of The OsteoCollective, he helps people—especially midlife women—reverse bone loss, optimize hormones, and reclaim strength and vitality through an evidence-based, root-cause approach. His message: osteoporosis is not a life sentence, and conventional medicine isn't your only option. Dr. Doug left his career as an orthopedic surgeon after becoming frustrated with a system that waited until bones were broken before taking action. Now, he's on a mission to teach people how to take control of their health before disease sets in. Whether he's speaking on bone health, functional medicine, or aging with intention, Dr. Doug delivers clear, relatable, science-backed insights your audience will remember—and act on.   Contact Dr. Doug Lucas:  Website: https://www.osteocollective.com/media YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/@Dr_DougLucas   Give thanks to our sponsors: Try Vitali skincare. 20% off with code ZORA here - https://vitaliskincare.com Get Primeadine spermidine by Oxford Healthspan. 15% discount with code ZORA here - http://oxfordhealthspan.com/discount/ZORA Get Mitopure Urolithin A by Timeline. 20% discount with code ZORA at https://timeline.com/zora Try Suji to improve muscle 10% off with code ZORA at TrySuji.com - https://trysuji.com Try OneSkin skincare with code ZORA for 15% off https://oneskin.pxf.io/c/3974954/2885171/31050 Try Troscriptions for 10% off with code ZORA https://troscriptions.com/zora   Join the Hack My Age community on: YouTube: https://youtube.com/@hackmyage Facebook Page: @Hack My Age     Facebook Group: @Biohacking Menopause    Biohacking Menopause Private Women's Only Support Group: https://hackmyage.com/biohacking-menopause-membership/ Instagram: @HackMyAge    Website: HackMyAge.com    For partnership inquiries: https://www.category3.ca/  For transparency: Some episodes of Hack My Age are supported by partners whose products or services may be discussed during the show.

HEALTH NERDS. Mensch, einfach erklärt. "Send me a text"Welcome to part two where we unpack the final six trends that will separate winning supplement brands from dying ones in 2026.In this episode, we dive into the innovation happening in formats and packaging (hint: gummies are declining at 8% while powders grow), the explosion of GLP-1 natural alternatives riding the Ozempic wave, functional mushrooms hitting mainstream with lion's mane getting 87 million TikTok views, personalized supplements becoming accessible through DNA and AI, beauty-from-within supplements booming as skincare goes internal, and why immune health isn't declining post-pandemic it's accelerating to $27.6 billion. You'll discover why generic is dead and specificity is king, how to prove your products actually work in a skeptical market, why format matters as much as formulation, and the fundamental consumer behavior shifts connecting all twelve trends.Plus, the hard truth about market growth: specialty supplements are growing at 6.3% while basic vitamins barely hit 2.7%. If you're making generic multivitamins with no differentiation, you're in a category growing slower than inflation. The supplement market is hitting $327 billion by 2030, but not every brand will capture their share. This episode shows you exactly how to position your brand for the massive opportunities ahead while your competitors keep playing the old game. The revolution isn't coming, it's already here. Get My Brand Masterlist https://drchristiangonzalez.com/best-brands-form-2-2/ Episode Description You see "supports hormonal balance" on the label and trust your estrogen supplement is pure, potent, and safe. But are you actually getting what you paid for—or playing Russian roulette with your hormones? Dr. Christian Gonzalez investigated the estrogen supplement industry with one critical question: can these brands prove their products are free from heavy metal contamination, maintain potency through expiration, and deliver the exact hormone dosage claimed on the label through third-party Certificates of Analysis (COAs)? The shocking reality? Most companies can't—or won't—provide basic proof of purity and potency. You're expected to trust your delicate hormonal system to manufacturers who refuse transparency about what's actually in the bottle. This isn't about being overly cautious—it's about protecting your endocrine system, bone health, and long-term vitality from contaminated or ineffective hormone supplementation. When you consume estrogen supplements without verified purity testing, you risk hormonal disruption, heavy metal accumulation, and health consequences that could take years to manifest. The hidden dangers lurking in estrogen supplements: • Heavy metal contamination including lead, arsenic, cadmium, and mercury that bioaccumulate and disrupt hormonal pathways • Potency deception: hormone levels guaranteed only at manufacturing, not expiration—meaning dosing becomes unpredictable over time • Undisclosed synthetic additives and fillers that interfere with estrogen metabolism and liver detoxification • Contamination from yeast, mold, and bacteria in raw materials that trigger inflammatory immune responses • Dosage inconsistency between what's listed on the label and what third-party testing actually reveals in the capsule • Zero verification of bioidentical claims—you could be taking synthetic estrogens marketed as natural In this episode, Dr. Christian Gonzalez reveals: • Why the estrogen supplement industry operates with virtually zero accountability for purity, potency, or safety standards • The critical difference between bioidentical and synthetic estrogen—and why most brands can't prove which one they're selling • How heavy metal-contaminated estrogen supplements create a double assault on your endocrine system and detox pathways • The liver burden, breast tissue sensitivity, and cardiovascular risks amplified by low-quality estrogen supplementation • Why COAs (Certificates of Analysis) are the ONLY way to verify what's actually in your supplement—and why most brands refuse to provide them • The regulatory loopholes allowing estrogen supplements to skip third-party testing and still make bold health claims • Safer, cleaner alternatives for supporting estrogen balance through whole-food sources and lifestyle optimization This episode goes beyond hormone replacement—it's about understanding that estrogen influences everything from bone density and brain function to cardiovascular health and cancer risk. It's about demanding proof before putting synthetic or contaminated hormones into your body daily, and recognizing that the supplement industry profits from your trust, not your health outcomes. The estrogen supplement industry doesn't want you asking for COAs. But your hormonal health depends on it. What Your Blood Really Says: Using Blood Tests for Preventive Health. Blood tests can reveal far more about your health than most people realize, often long before symptoms appear. In this episode, I explain how blood work can be used as a powerful preventive tool, not just to diagnose disease. We talk about what common blood tests can tell you about your metabolism, thyroid, hormones, nutrient status, and cardiovascular risk, and why “normal” lab ranges don't always mean optimal health. You'll learn why some nutrients need to be tested in whole blood or red blood cells rather than serum, which markers are often overlooked, and how to choose the right tests without overtesting. This episode is for anyone who wants to move beyond guesswork and use blood tests to gain clarity, track progress, and make more informed health decisions.Takeaways:Blood tests can reveal new health information.Early detection through blood tests aids in prevention.Doctors often check for severe health issues, not optimal health.Optimal ranges in blood tests are crucial for overall health.TSH is just one parameter for assessing thyroid health.Vitamin D levels should ideally be between 60 and 80.Magnesium should be tested in red blood cells for accuracy.Cortisol levels significantly affect energy levels throughout the day.Supplement dosages vary from person to person.Retesting is essential to confirm the effectiveness of health protocols.(blood tests, health insights, optimal ranges, nutritional deficiencies, hormonal health, cortisol, supplements, retesting)Would you like to book a health consultation for yourself or a loved one? Horse owners often feed supplements to address gaps in their horses' diet that forage and concentrates might not meet, such as supporting joint comfort, hoof quality, or muscle recovery. Researchers suggest that supplements can be beneficial when a horse has a documented deficiency, such as low vitamin or mineral levels, or a clearly identified need, such as poor hoof quality. Owners should always consult a veterinarian or an equine nutritionist when choosing supplements for their horses and prioritize products backed by research.During this Ask TheHorse Live episode, two experts answer questions and discuss everything you need to know about equine supplements. This episode is brought to you by SmartEquine. About the Experts: Frank M. Andrews, DVM, MS, Dipl. After 20 years on the faculty at the University of Tennessee College of Veterinary Medicine, in Knoxville, he is currently LVMA Equine Committee professor and director of Equine Health and Sports Performance at Louisiana State University School of Veterinary Medicine (LSU Vet Med), in Baton Rouge. Andrews has clinical and research interests in gastric ulcers and gastrointestinal disease, and he's completed research on the efficacy of pharmacologic agents in the treatment of gastric ulcers in horses. Andrews is actively involved in clinical equine practice and clinical research.Liz Schatz, DVM, is a graduate of the Kansas State University College of Veterinary Medicine, in Manhattan, where she was awarded the Glenn Ray Teagarden Award for Proficiency in Equine Medicine. It's easy to get caught up in all the health trends—saunas, red light therapy, cold plunges, expensive supplements—but at the end of the day, nothing will trump the basics. In this episode, I'm walking you through two lifestyle changes I've made recently that are supporting my health in a big way. One is a little "crunchy," and one is super accessible. Neither replaces the big rocks of health (like reducing processed foods, stabilizing blood sugar, managing stress, and getting good sleep), but both have helped me reinforce the foundation. Here's what we dive into: Why I started milling our own flour (and what you're really getting in store-bought flour) What "bleached" flour actually means—and what that's doing to your body What's really in dough conditioners (and why you want to avoid them) How fresh-milled flour tastes better, saves money, and massively improves nutrient density The simple morning fiber drink I take with psyllium husk and citrus How fiber helps you detox and reduce inflammation Why detox pathways matter for fat loss, hormones, and inflammation And most importantly, how to stop chasing trends and come back to the daily practices that actually move the needle. ✨ Want to pursue weight loss by reducing inflammation in January? Most people take vitamin D pills because their doctor, a commercial, or a supplement aisle told them to.  But do vitamin D supplements actually improve your health? In this episode, Miles Hassell MD breaks down what the evidence really shows — and why vitamin D sources found in nature may be far more powerful. We dive into the massive gap between blood levels of vitamin D and whether supplements actually work, the risks of "false confidence" in pills, and the often-overlooked benefits of sunlight, food, weight management, and real lifestyle habits. Key Takeaways Supplements rarely improve outcomes. Large, well-designed studies show vitamin D pills generally do not reduce cancer, heart disease, fractures, falls, or total mortality. Natural sources matter. People with naturally higher vitamin D levels (sunlight, diet, activity) live longer and healthier — but synthetic vitamin D doesn't recreate that benefit. The "healthy user effect." Higher vitamin D often reflects healthier habits, not pills. Sunlight is the #1 source. Just 10–15 minutes of midday sun can significantly boost levels and also increases nitric oxide, improves metabolism, and supports cardiovascular health. Supplement benefits are limited. Possible small improvements for respiratory infections and progression from prediabetes to diabetes — but usually too small to be clinically meaningful. Toxicity exists. Over-supplementation or manufacturing errors can cause dangerously high levels and hypercalcemia. Food sources are powerful. Oily fish, cod liver oil, free-range eggs, and sunlight-exposed mushrooms all meaningfully improve vitamin D status. Lifestyle > pills. Exercise, weight management, and whole-food nutrition remain far more impactful than supplements. AABP Executive Director Dr. Fred Gingrich is joined by Dr. Isaac Jumper, assistant professor and ambulatory clinician at Mississippi State University College of Veterinary Medicine. Jumper was the first author on a paper published in the Bovine Practitioner online first edition. This peer-reviewed journal published by AABP is open access. The target audience for the journal is the practicing cattle veterinarian and there are no publication fees for submissions. Find the journal at this link.  The objective of this paper was to study the temporal consumption patterns of chlortetracycline (CTC)-medicated mineral supplement offered free choice to beef cows on pasture and test the effect of cow age on CTC-medicated mineral supplement intake. The study involved an adaptation period to acclimate cows to the SmartFeed units and a trial period to test the study objectives. During the 27-day adaptation period, 76% of cattle consumed any amount of the diet during the day and the average total intake was just under 8 kg per cow or 0.3 kg per day. During the 46-day trial period, 27% of cows across all pasture groups consumed any amount of CTC-medicated mineral with an average amount consumed of just under 41 grams per day. The average dose of CTC consumed was 0.53 mg/kg per day which is less than the labeled dose of 1.1 mg/kg. The authors identified variability between cows in consumption of CTC-medicated mineral. The mean number of consumption days was 12.5, the number of consecutive days the average cow visited the feeder was 1.6 and the average number of days between visits was 6 days. We discuss the implications for control of anaplasmosis with these results. The authors identified that in this study, feeding CTC-medicated mineral did not ensure that cows on free-choice pasture-based feeding programs did not consume the label dose of CTC. As the age of the cow increased, the frequency of visits decreased, and the total consumption of CTC-medicated mineral declined.  Veterinarians who are utilizing CTC for control of anaplasmosis should be familiar with FDA regulations on the Veterinary Feed Directive, including dosing, the difference between hand-fed labels and free-choice administration, and the prohibition of extralabel drug use for medically important antimicrobials administered in feed.  A pilot study investigating consumption patterns of chlortetracycline-medicated mineral supplement offered free choice to beef cows on pasture. Are multivitamins bad for you? How could that be? In this video, I'll share the truth about the multivitamin scam. Find out about the vitamins you should never take, supplements that don't work, and the harmful ingredients in your supplements. 0:00 Introduction: Multivitamins truth0:19 Harmful ingredients in supplements 1:45 Synthetic vs. natural vitamins 3:38 Do multivitamins really work?9:32 Natural vitamins and minerals11:17 Fake vitamins exposed! Many multivitamins are made with the cheapest, synthetic ingredients which could be doing more harm than good. The first ingredient in many multivitamins is often calcium carbonate, which is limestone! The first ingredient usually makes up the majority of the product. Magnesium oxide, another common ingredient, is very cheap and has the lowest absorption rate compared to other forms of magnesium. The term “natural” isn't regulated, so ingredients derived from sources such as petroleum and coal tar can be labeled as natural. In nature, vitamins don't exist alone; they are combined with other nutrients and cofactors, which are often missing when you take synthetic vitamins. Biochemistry can not work without cofactors. Although there are nutrients that are difficult to obtain in sufficient amounts from food, that doesn't mean they should be replaced with synthetic multivitamins.Maltodextrin is commonly used as a filler in vitamins and minerals. It's a highly refined industrial starch, classified as a complex carbohydrate, and spikes blood sugar more than sugar. Ascorbic acid is a synthetic part of the vitamin C complex. Approximately 90% is made in China from GMO corn and sulfuric acid. Many people have a genetic issue converting cyanocobalamin, a synthetic form of B12, and folic acid, a synthetic form of B9, into their active forms. This can cause negative side effects in 40% of the population.Almost all of the popular multivitamins are owned by Big Pharma, Big Food, Big Chemical, or large investment groups. For example, Centrum Silver is owned by Pfizer, and One a Day is owned by Bayer. Nature Made is owned by the same company that sells Abilify!Dr. Eric Berg DC Bio:Dr. Berg, age 60, is a chiropractor who specializes in Healthy Ketosis & Intermittent Fasting.
