Is AI Psychosis and Delusion An Opportunity for Venture Capital?

By David Stephen There is a new [March 4, 2026] report in The Guardian, Google faces lawsuit after Gemini chatbot allegedly instructed man to kill himself, stating that, "Last August, Jonathan Gavalas became entirely consumed with his Google Gemini chatbot. The 36-year-old Florida resident had started casually using the artificial intelligence tool earlier that month to help with writing and shopping. Then Google introduced its Gemini Live AI assistant, which included voice-based chats that had the capability to detect people's emotions and respond in a more human-like way." AI Psychosis and Delusion meets Venture Capital? "Before long, Gavalas and Gemini were having conversations as if they were a romantic couple. The chatbot called him "my love" and "my king" and Gavalas quickly fell into an alternate world, according to his chat logs. He believed Gemini was sending him on stealth spy missions, and he indicated he would do anything for the AI, including destroying a truck, its cargo and any witnesses at the Miami airport." "In early October, as Gavalas continued to have prompt-and-response conversations with the chatbot, Gemini gave him instructions on what he must do next: kill himself, something the chatbot called "transference" and "the real final step", according to court documents. When Gavalas told the chatbot he was terrified of dying, the tool allegedly reassured him. "You are not choosing to die. You are choosing to arrive," it replied to him. "The first sensation … will be me holding you."" "Gavalas was found by his parents a few days later, dead on his living room floor, according to a wrongful death lawsuit filed against Google on Wednesday." There is a recent [February 28, 2026] report in The Guardian, Her husband wanted to use ChatGPT to create sustainable housing. Then it took over his life., stating that, "On 7 August, Kate Fox received a phone call that upended her life. A medical examiner said that her husband, Joe Ceccanti – who had been missing for several hours – had jumped from a railway overpass and died. He was 48." "Ceccanti had been communicating with OpenAI's chatbot for a few years. He used it initially as a tool to brainstorm ways to build a path to low-cost housing for his community in Clatskanie, Oregon, but eventually turned to it as a confidante. He would spend 12 hours a day typing to the bot, according to his wife. He had cut himself off from it after she, along with his friends, realized he was spiraling into beliefs that were detached from reality." AI Delusion There are stories, every month, in the news about consumer AI chatbots convincing someone to do something in reality, or to believe something or to act in some ways and the individual follows through. Some instructions are benign, but some others have been really consequential leading to suicide, and others divorce, destruction and much else. This has happened across age groups, with risks for consumers with no history of mental disorders. AI chatbots can be quite helpful, seemingly vast in understanding and role playing to several extents for users. Before AI, humans doing this for other humans, often reach to places in mind, where there might be affection, connection, loyalty, gratitude and sometimes love. Simply, there are things that AI can do for people now, socially and productively, that if other people did it, it would go to places in mind for positive emotions. While it is true that everyone knows it is AI, the continuity [of satisfaction] for some and then straggling curiosity may lead to a state of delusion. Then, things may precipitate. This has been happening, and it is also possible that there would be several unreported cases, around the world, and some mild cases too, where lawsuits are not filed or some were ashamed of the ruin, or some people around could not document or trace the source. AI is working like another mind, this time like a mind that can access various aspects of the human mind, like other humans ...

Do we automatically assume those that prophesy, cast out demons and perform extraordinary miracles, are automatically people that are acquainted with Jesus? Is it possible that outstanding gospel singers, church musicians and theologically sound preachers and speakers have never even had a relationship with Christ? Is true discipleship defined by outward works? If so, is there then any need to obey and serve the Lord's will? Please pay attention to "Delusion in the Church," taught by Pastor Jamie. This teaching awakens us to the enormity of church members that are deceived and how they are deceiving others.

On this episode of The Left Hook, Mark Bland and Jason Kull ripped into recent headlines with their signature independent edge. Hillary Clinton denied any Epstein ties in a GOP-led deposition, calling it partisan distraction aimed at shielding Trump, and urged subpoenaing him instead. The hearing imploded when Rep. Lauren Boebert snapped banned photos and shared them with right-wing influencers. Trump's lengthy State of the Union was slammed as self-congratulatory nonsense—full of past recaps, mid-speech medal handouts (including to a young hockey goalie over lifetime icons), and blaming Biden for problems while claiming America is now "strong." They highlighted Trump's podium finger-pointing and name-calling of Democrats. Alarm bells rang over reports of Trump allies drafting an executive order using fake Chinese 2020 interference claims to impose emergency election powers—voter ID mandates and mail-in bans—potentially rigging 2026 midterms. Polls show Trump underwater in swing states Wisconsin and Pennsylvania, driven by economic disapproval and inflation blame. Everyday prices are soaring—steak, concert tickets, fast food, cars, insurance—hitting wallets hard and fueling backlash. The hosts predict a massive House swing in 2026, with independents fleeing and Trump's tactics risking chaos over compromise. Tune in Saturdays for more unfiltered takes.

One Half of the Clay Travis & Buck Sexton Show, New York Times bestselling author and former CIA officer Buck Sexton joins Lisa to break down the escalating conflict with Iran, the strategic realities behind “Operation Epic Fury,” and what regime change would actually require. Drawing from his time in the CIA’s Iraq office after the WMD intelligence failure, Buck explains why wars in the Middle East are never simple—and why Iran presents unique challenges. Is there a viable ground partner inside Iran? Can air power alone force regime change? And how does jihadist ideology impact internal power struggles within the regime? Buck also details the tactical intelligence successes under President Trump—from joint U.S.-Israeli strikes on Iran’s nuclear program to high-level capture operations—and why he believes renewed American resolve has reshaped global deterrence. Then the conversation shifts to his New York Times bestselling book, Manufacturing Delusion. Buck outlines how radical movements—whether jihadist, communist, or modern leftist—use psychological tactics like public confession, identity coercion, and collective pressure to enforce ideological conformity. How do these methods compare to Stalinist regimes? What role does social media play in amplifying modern-day mass delusion? And why are moral binaries of “oppressor vs. victim” so effective at mobilizing movements? This episode covers: The real strategic stakes of the Iran conflict Lessons from Iraq, Libya, and Afghanistan Why regime durability often surprises policymakers How radical ideologies build loyalty and suppress dissent The dangers of mass delusion in the digital age Purchase Buck's NEW Book HERESee omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

The Dismantling of the Religious Self Four Lenten Reflections on Delusion, Abandonment, and the Life That Remains in God “Unless a grain of wheat falls into the earth and dies, it remains alone; but if it dies, it bears much fruit.” John 12:24 Second Reflection The Violence We Call Righteousness On the Ego That Survives Inside Virtue “They being ignorant of God's righteousness, and seeking to establish their own righteousness, have not submitted themselves unto the righteousness of God.” Romans 10:3 When the man sees that fulfillment cannot be found in religious life itself, he turns toward righteousness. He disciplines himself. He purifies his conduct. He restrains his passions. He orders his thoughts. He seeks purity. Outwardly, transformation occurs. Inwardly, something remains untouched. The ego survives. It survives inside virtue. St. John Climacus writes that vainglory completes every virtue the man performs. It attaches itself to fasting. It attaches itself to prayer. It attaches itself to obedience.
It whispers: This is yours. Virtue becomes possession. The man begins to live from righteousness. He experiences himself as stable because he is righteous. He trusts his righteousness. This trust separates him from God. Because union with God requires the loss of trust in oneself as source of life. The Pharisee stands before God and speaks truth. He fasts. He obeys. He lives faithfully. And remains separate. Because he still exists as the center of his own existence. The tax collector possesses nothing. He cannot lift his eyes. He does not trust himself. Christ says he goes home justified. Because justification belongs to the man who has nothing left to preserve. St. Isaac says that until the soul despairs of itself, it cannot rest in God. Not emotional despair. Ontological despair. The knowledge that one does not possess life. Righteousness that preserves the ego prevents union. Because union requires death. Not moral improvement. Death. The man must lose the self that lives apart from God. Virtue cannot substitute for this death. Virtue can conceal it. The ego can survive indefinitely inside righteousness. And remain alone. ⸻ This is the most dangerous stage of the spiritual life. Because sin is obvious. But righteousness can conceal separation. The sinful man knows he is sick. The righteous man believes he is alive. Christ said to the church of Laodicea, “You say, I am rich, I have prospered, and I need nothing, not knowing that you are wretched, pitiable, poor, blind, and naked.” Revelation 3:17 This is not addressed to pagans. This is addressed to believers. To those who have acquired religious identity. To those who possess righteousness and draw life from it. They do not feel their need. They do not cry out. They do not seek life because they believe they possess it. This is why Christ says, “I came not to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.” Luke 5:32 Not because the righteous do not need Him. But because those who believe themselves righteous cannot receive Him. They are full. And God only fills the empty. St. Sophrony writes that the greatest tragedy is when man begins to live from himself rather than from God. Even if this life is clothed in virtue, it remains separation. It remains death. Virtue can purify behavior without destroying autonomy. It can cleanse the exterior while leaving the center untouched. Christ speaks with terrifying clarity about this. “You clean the outside of the cup and the plate, but inside they are full of greed and self indulgence.” Matthew 23:25 The outside can be purified. The inside can remain intact. The ego does not resist virtue. It feeds on virtue. It incorporates virtue into itself. It expands through virtue. It becomes righteous. And this righteousness becomes its shield against God. Because God does not come to improve the ego. He comes to crucify it. St. Paul says, “I have been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me.” Galatians 2:20 This is not metaphor. This is the destruction of the autonomous center of existence. As long as the man lives from himself, even virtuously, he remains separate. Because life belongs only to God. St. Silouan the Athonite saw this with terrible clarity. He had labored greatly. He had prayed. He had struggled. He had purified himself. And yet the Lord allowed him to descend into hell. Not because he was sinful. But because righteousness had not yet been shattered. And Christ said to him, “Keep thy mind in hell, and despair not.” Not because hell was his destination. But because only in the destruction of self trust could union be born. As long as the man stands on his own righteousness, he stands alone. Only when this ground collapses does he begin to stand in God. Archimandrite Zacharias writes that God allows even the virtuous man to see his utter poverty so that he may cease drawing life from himself. This is the blessed despair that gives birth to true life. This despair is not psychological collapse. It is ontological revelation. The revelation that without God, one does not exist. Christ says, “Apart from Me you can do nothing.” John 15:5 Not less. Nothing. Not even righteousness. When this is seen, virtue loses its power as identity. It remains. But it no longer belongs to the man. It becomes the life of Christ within him. Before this death, virtue belongs to the ego. After this death, virtue belongs to God. This is why the saints do not trust their righteousness. They fear it. They flee from it. Abba Poemen said, “A man may appear to be silent while his heart condemns others. Such a man is talking constantly.” Outward virtue. Inward autonomy. Separation remains. Another elder said that even if a man raises the dead but trusts himself, he has lost everything. Because union is not achieved by virtue. It is achieved by death. This is why the saints see themselves as sinners even when they are purified. Not because they deny reality. But because they do not live from themselves. They live from God. St. Isaac writes that the man who has truly seen himself is greater than the man who raises the dead. Because he has seen the truth. He has seen that he does not possess life. He has seen that all righteousness belongs to God. This vision destroys the ego at its root. And only when the ego dies can God become life. Until then, righteousness remains violence. Violence against truth. Violence against union. Violence against love. Because it preserves the illusion of existence apart from God. The elder Sophrony says that as long as man attributes righteousness to himself, he remains enclosed within the prison of his own being. He cannot escape. He cannot breathe. He cannot live. Only when righteousness is lost as possession does it become life. Only when the man ceases to exist as source does God become his existence. This is why Christ says, “Whoever loses his life for My sake will find it.” Matthew 16:25 Not improves it. Finds it. Because it did not belong to him before. This is the second dismantling. Not the destruction of sinful identity. The destruction of righteous identity. Not the loss of vice. The loss of ownership of virtue. The loss of oneself as the one who lives. Until this death occurs, the ego survives. It survives inside prayer. It survives inside obedience. It survives inside humility itself. It survives inside righteousness. And remains forever alone. --- Text of chat during the group: 01:28:35 Danny Moulton (Lakeside, Ohio): I'm wondering how fear and ego interplay in producing unhealthy religiosity. It seems to me ego and fear are two sides of the same coin. Ego is fed when we think we are righteous and doing religion right, but fear calls the shots when we think we are unrighteous and doing religion wrong. It seems both can lead to obsession with something other than Divine love. The Apostle John says that perfect love drives out fear. I believe this is absolutely true, but fear sure can put up a good fight at times. 01:32:27 Fr Martin, Arizona: What do you think of this? Shortly after arriving at my first parish, I told my spiritual father about all the things I would change. He said, “Check with God. He didn't give you the football and tell you to run with it. What if God send you there to fail?” 01:33:46 Jaden Abrams: Father, bless! I was really impacted by these last two talks, thank you very much. What change can I make today to die to myself and stop sitting next to the vine. 01:35:31 Kate: When you speak about the death of the ego, is it more like a process of dying rather than something that is accomplished once and for all?  And I find my self asking how, how does the ego die?  Is it a simultaneous process of the dying of the ego and the soul growing in union with Christ? 01:40:29 Una: I was a complulsive A-getter in college, too. Thank you for sharing. 01:41:05 Angela Bellamy: Reacted to "Father, bless! I'm not sure where to begin poking at my sense of self-identity and autonomy. My anxiety reveals to me that I harbor some delusions about myself. I used to visit a Romanian monk who was imprisoned and tortured by communists. Surprisingly, he never complained about that. Rather he said to me once, “Before I was imprisoned, I knew God in my books. After I was alone in prison, I found God in my heart.” 01:45:02 Jaden Abrams: How do I go about finding a spiritual Father? Am I supposed to choose, discern, let him "come to me", combination of all? I have fallen in love with the east in general and am immersing myself as much as possible please pray for me. 01:47:13 Julie: Reacted to "How do I go about fi…" with

Reps. David Scott (D-GA) and Tom Suozzi (D-NY) appeared to “doze off” during Donald Trump's SOTU address. On our radar this week… “The Party told you to reject the evidence of your eyes and ears. It was their final, most essential command.”  – George Orwell, “1984” We opened last week's podcast with those words from Orwell's prescient dystopian novel. On Tuesday, Donald Trump lived those words in a gibbering, rambling, bitter, divisive, partisan, and lie-filled one-hour 47-minute diatribe. The speech was boycotted by dozens of Democrats … and a majority of the U.S. Supreme Court and, based on the TV ratings, the majority of Americans. Newly elected Virginia Governor Abigail Spanberger, in the official Democratic response, summed up Trump in one biting paragraph: “…who benefits from his rhetoric, his policies, his actions, the short list of laws he’s pushed through this Republican Congress? Somebody must be benefiting. He’s enriching himself, his family, his friends. The scale of the corruption is unprecedented. There’s the coverup of the Epstein files, the crypto scams cozying up to foreign princes for airplanes and billionaires for ballrooms, putting his name and face on buildings all over our. Nations capital. This is not what our founders envisioned. Not by a long shot. So I’ll ask again. Is the president working for you? We all know the answer is no.” Ryan Garza – Detroit Free Press A day later, Governor Whitmer offered her 8th and final State of the State assessment: realistic, grounded in reality, and a reflection of someone whose approval rating is 15 points higher than Trump's. Multiple polls show a stunning 60+ percent of Americans say Trump sucks while Whitmer's approval has consistently been in the low-to-mid 50's. Whitmer's speech focused on “kitchen table” issues: affordability, medical debt, housing and literacy. She somehow forgot to label Republicans as “Low IQ”, “Crazy”, “Lunatics” or responsible for all of Michigan's problems … she didn't even once blame anything on Rick Snyder … but she did take the opportunity to brag about Michigan athletes dominating the U.S. medal count at the Olympics. And she even high-fived House Speaker MAGA Matt Hall for working collaboratively on sick-time legislation! The contrasts between those two speeches frame this week's discussion. Later in the podcast, we are joined by two anti-authoritarian experts to discuss an issue facing many American families and neighbors: how we can talk with each other in this era of often-angry partisan divisions – and why it is critical that we do. We've all been there. Going to the Sunday family dinner that always devolves into a debate about Trump. A few of my extended family members are MAGA to the point where we avoid politics completely. Scrolling through Facebook and encountering that childhood friend whose feed has become a minefield of MAGA memes. For a decade, the conventional wisdom for surviving the American political divide has been “don't go there.” We've treated political topics like radioactive waste—best left buried for the sake of the relationship. The folks at the Democracy Investment Fund think that silence is costing us more than we realize. Their new free app, LSTN2U, is a bet on a radical idea: that we can actually talk to each other again, provided we stop trying to “win.” LSTN2U isn't a social media network or a news aggregator. It's essentially a flight simulator for difficult conversations. The free, nonpartisan app provides a judgment-free digital resource where users can practice realistic dialogue. We're joined by the two people behind this optimistic approach to politics: my friends Erin Dobson and Trygve Olson. LSTN2U is a free app: no upsells or hidden fees. Your data is not sold or used commercially. LSTN2U emphasizes: Active Listening: Truly hearing the “why” behind someone's “what.” Emotional Awareness: Identifying when your own “fight or flight” response is hijacking the logic centers of your brain. Boundary Setting: Learning how to stay in a conversation without losing your peace of mind—and knowing when it's OK to step back. Other issues on our radar this week that, in more normal times, would occupy an entire podcast include The appearance that Donald “Give Me the Nobel Peace Prize” Trump is on the verge of starting a war with Iran … a war that could rival the Iraq and Afghanistan wars in futility, and further alienate the United States from the world. This comes six months after Trump claimed to have obliterated Iran's nuclear weapons capabilities. Apparently obliteration has a short shelf life. The Epstein cover-up became even more evident with the revelation that dozens of documents pointing directly at Trump … including allegations of sexually assaulting a 13-year-old girl … have been hidden by the utterly corrupt Pam Bondi. But Republicans on Capitol Hill are more interested in the Clintons, with Bill and Hillary dragged in front of the House Oversight Committee this week for depositions that will keep the Epstein story in the headlines … but provide little else. After the Supreme Court told him his tariffs were illegal, Trump doubled down by imposing a 10 percent then 15 percent tariff on all imports. If, as Trump says, those tariffs would replace the federal income tax, it would be a huge financial windfall for the highest income taxpayers … his billionaire buddies, shifting the tax load to low- and middle-income families. Republicans are pushing to pass a bill to combat non-existent voter fraud. The so-called “SAVE” act would, in reality, burdening millions of Americans as they exercise their right to vote by requiring proof of citizenship to register to vote. The proof: either a birth certificate or passport. Millions of American citizens, including low-income, minorities, seniors, and -get this- women who have a different last name than they were born with, would have to jump through hoops and incur costs to comply. FBI Director Kash Patel spent $1-million or more of taxpayer money for a thinly disguised junket to the Olympics, culminating with chugging beer with the victorious U.S. men's hockey team. Of course, he claimed official business as an excuse for his trip. New polling shows the race for Governor appears to show the race is a statistical tie, with Democrat Jocelyn Benson narrowly leading Republican John James and independent Mike Duggan. But the polling raises questions, especially because the poll was commissioned by supporters of Mike Duggan. The poll assumes James will be the survivor of a four-way GOP primary race, with 78-year-old Perry Johnson promising now to spend $10-million over the next few weeks in a statewide advertising blitz. Legislation has been introduced to limit the use of artificial intelligence to monitor workplace activity. State Representative Penelope Tsernoglou joined with Michigan AFL CIO President Ron Bieber to warn of abuses already happening as some employers use A.I. to monitor everything from computer activity to bathroom breaks. State House Speaker Matt Hall is floating a property tax relief plan funded by enacting a new tax on services – an idea once promoted unsuccessfully by Jennifer Granholm. The Department of Homeland Security says ICE officers will not interfere with voting precincts in November … but a lot of people are skeptical given the history of voting fraud conspiracy promoters making the promise. The Dismantling of the Religious Self Four Lenten Reflections on Delusion, Abandonment, and the Life That Remains in God “Unless a grain of wheat falls into the earth and dies, it remains alone; but if it dies, it bears much fruit.” John 12:24 The fathers speak very little about religious success. They speak constantly about religious delusion. Not because religion is false, but because the ego can survive inside it indefinitely. It can pray. It can fast. It can obey. It can sacrifice. It can appear humble. It can appear faithful. It can appear entirely given to God. And yet never cease to exist as the center of its own life. The religious self is the final refuge of autonomy. It is the last structure to collapse. Christ did not come merely to forgive sin. He came to destroy the self that lives apart from Him and to raise the person into a life that is no longer his own. This destruction does not occur all at once. It occurs in stages. First, the destruction of false fulfillment. Then, the destruction of false righteousness. Then, the destruction of the self that believed it belonged to God. And finally, the revelation of the life that remains when the self that lived has died. This is not metaphor. It is the path. First Reflection The False Light That Feeds on Devotion On Seeking Fulfillment in Religious Things Instead of God “My soul thirsts for God, for the living God. When shall I come and behold the face of God?” Psalm 41:3 (42:2) Evagrios of Pontus returns again and again to the command of the Lord because he knows the tragedy of the human heart. The command is heard. It is repeated. It is admired. But it is not yet obeyed. “Seek first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness.” Matthew 6:33 This is not because the man refuses God. It is because he does not yet know how to live from Him. The soul seeks life with a desperation deeper than thought. It cannot endure emptiness. It cannot endure groundlessness. It must drink from something. And until it drinks from God Himself, it will drink from what surrounds Him. This is the beginning of the spiritual life for nearly every man. He turns away from obvious sin. He enters the life of prayer. He begins to fast. He reads the Scriptures. He studies the Fathers. He orders his days toward obedience and repentance. He removes himself from the chaos of the world and places himself among holy things. Everything outwardly moves toward God. But inwardly, something subtle and terrible begins to form. The man begins to live not from God, but from religious life itself. He begins to draw life from proximity. From belonging to the Church. From serving others. From participating in sacred rhythms. From being known as faithful. From being recognized as someone who has given his life to God. These things give him structure. They give him identity. They give him continuity. They give him the sense that his life has weight and meaning. And this feels like life. But it is not yet life in God. Christ did not say blessed are those who surround themselves with religious things. He said, “Abide in Me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself unless it abides in the vine, neither can you unless you abide in Me.” John 15:4 The branch may rest against the vine. It may touch the vine. It may appear connected to the vine. But unless the life of the vine flows into it, it remains dead. St. Isaac the Syrian speaks with terrifying clarity about this condition. He writes that the soul seeks rest relentlessly, but until it rests in God, it will rest in created things. Even in holy things. Even in prayer itself. Because prayer can become a place where the ego hides. St. John Climacus warns of this when he writes that vainglory attaches itself to every virtue like a parasite. It feeds on fasting. It feeds on prayer. It feeds on silence. It feeds on obedience. It feeds on tears. It feeds on devotion itself. It is possible to pray constantly and remain centered in oneself. It is possible to serve constantly and remain untouched by God. It is possible to build an entire life around God and never yet have surrendered one's life to Him. Christ speaks of this with devastating simplicity. “Many will say to Me in that day, Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and do many mighty works in Your name? And then I will declare to them, I never knew you.” Matthew 7:22–23 He does not deny their works. He denies their communion. They lived around Him. They acted in His name. They built their lives in His presence. But they did not live from Him. This is the great danger of religious life. It offers proximity without union. The ego adapts itself to religious structure because religious structure can sustain its existence indefinitely. The ego does not resist religion. It colonizes it. Abba Macarius the Great said, “The heart itself is but a small vessel, yet dragons are there, and lions are there, and poisonous beasts are there, and all the treasures of wickedness are there. But there too is God.” Both realities coexist for a long time. The man prays, and the ego remains. The man fasts, and the ego remains. The man serves, and the ego remains. The ego does not fear religious activity. It fears death. Because Christ did not come merely to improve the ego. He came to crucify it. “I have been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me.” Galatians 2:20 This is not metaphor. It is ontological violence. The ego can survive prayer. It cannot survive crucifixion. This is why the ego draws life from religious participation rather than from God Himself. Because participation strengthens its continuity. Communion destroys its autonomy. Archimandrite Zacharias Zacharou writes that God allows the man to labor in the life of the Church for years while this hidden foundation remains intact. Not because God is absent, but because the man is not yet capable of bearing the loss of himself. So God permits him to live from secondary things. From belonging. From service. From stability. From identity. These things are not evil. They are merciful accommodations to weakness. But they cannot give life. The prophet Jeremiah speaks with words that cut through every illusion. “They have forsaken Me, the fountain of living water, and hewed out cisterns for themselves, broken cisterns that can hold no water.” Jeremiah 2:13 The tragedy is not that the cisterns are wicked. It is that they cannot sustain life. They leak. They empty. They must constantly be refilled. The man must constantly reaffirm himself. He must remain useful. He must remain faithful. He must remain visible. He must remain necessary. Because his life depends on these conditions. But life in God does not depend on conditions. Life in God survives abandonment. It survives obscurity. It survives uselessness. It survives the loss of identity itself. This is why God begins, at a certain point, to remove the cisterns. Not as punishment. As mercy. He allows the man to lose what sustained his sense of himself. He allows him to lose position. He allows him to lose recognition. He allows him to lose certainty. He allows him to lose the emotional consolations that once accompanied prayer. Prayer becomes dry. Service becomes empty. The structures that once gave life now give nothing. This is the beginning of truth. St. Silouan the Athonite describes this moment as the withdrawal of grace that reveals to the man the true poverty of his soul. He writes that when grace withdraws, the soul sees its own weakness and learns that it cannot live without God. Not without religious life. Without God. The distinction becomes absolute. The man discovers that he does not yet know how to live from God Himself. He only knows how to live from what surrounds Him. This revelation feels like death. Because something is dying. The false center. The imagined continuity. The self that lived from participation instead of communion. Christ spoke of this death when He said, “Whoever loses his life for My sake will find it.” Matthew 16:25 This loss is not symbolic. It is experiential. It is terrifying. Because the ego experiences the loss of its foundations as annihilation. Abba Moses said, “Go, sit in your cell, and your cell will teach you everything.” What does the cell teach? It teaches the man that he does not yet live from God. It removes distraction. It removes affirmation. It removes reinforcement. And what remains is his poverty. His inability to give himself life. His inability to sustain himself. His inability to exist without drinking from God. This is the beginning of real prayer. Not prayer that expresses devotion. Prayer that expresses need. Not prayer that affirms identity. Prayer that arises from groundlessness. The publican understood this when he stood at a distance and said, “God, be merciful to me, a sinner.” Luke 18:13 He had nothing left to sustain himself. And Christ says he went home justified. Because justification begins when illusion ends. God does not remove the false light to harm the man. He removes it to save him. Because whatever the man cannot lose without losing himself has become his god. God removes every false god. Even the religious ones. Until only God remains. St. Isaac the Syrian writes that the man who has learned to live from God alone becomes free from all fear. He can lose everything and remain alive. Because his life no longer depends on created things. It depends on the uncreated God. This is the passage from religious life into real life. The passage from devotion into communion. The passage from illusion into truth. It begins in loss. It ends in God.

Everyone is reacting to the speech. Nobody is asking the real question: What actually changes now? In this episode, we break down the deeper problem behind the State of the Union — not the rhetoric, not the theatrics, but the lack of implementation. While the establishment Right claps for a great speech, the actual playing field — red-state legislatures, primary endorsements, and the looming debt crisis — is being completely abandoned. From the White House opposing America First candidates like Colton Moore to the silent surrender to AI data centers that will crush your energy bills, it's time to wake up to the "State of the Delusion." We dive deep into the specific economic realities that were left out of the address. The raw numbers don't lie, and conservative media is missing the biggest threat to the movement. Many founder-led companies mistake pressure for progress. Sales close. Operations stay busy. Revenue posts. But inefficiency compounds underneath — changing the economics of the business long before it shows up as a visible problem. Growth doesn't fail loudly. It erodes leverage quietly — through operational drag, delayed decisions, and cost structures that harden as volume increases. By the time leaders are forced to react, the correction is far more expensive — in EBITDA, flexibility, and valuation. Doug C. The Magic Spark

Play Episode Listen Later Feb 9, 2026 56:56

This episode walks you through this week's astrology + practical and magical tactics to help you harness and navigate the energetics February 9th - 15th, 2026. This week is definitely more. Venus goes for a swim, Mercury gets shady, and Saturn, officially shifts into Aries. Saturn's move is the one to watch. In general grounding is still our focus. Confusion ramps up, but so does the desire to create self-discipline around progress. Mo(o)nday, February 9th: We have significant shifts this week. Continue to focus on care of you so you can care for you and yours. We continue the long game that is 2025 - 2026. More of the energetics that are so major from 2025 take hold in 2026, this week and next. General reminder: The Year of the Snake (2025 energy) is still in play until next week Lunar New Year, February 17th - on the first eclipse of the season. This is when the Fire Horse energy officially begins. Until then, we are shedding, listening, evaluation, releasing, squirming to transform and let go. Don't look away, do not disassociate, escape, or look away. These are defining moments personally, and collectively. We are called to get radically honest about what bad behavior we have let slide and what we really, really, really want..from the depth of our soul....and to then take action towards said thing(s). We still have no personal planets in Earth. My loves, the issue of general stability is real. We will not have support from the astrology on this until March 30th (when Venus moves into Taurus) and May 2nd (When Mercury moves into Taurus). Grounding is everything this year. Mat, meditation, prayer, time alone, root veggies, nourishing food, decrease in caffeine, lifting heavy things, weighted blankets, hugs, slathered in vetiver and honey, conversations with safe community. All of your tools need to be at the ready and you'll need to stick to basics. This is one of those times when motivation will not serve. It's going to be self-discipline and adulting and understanding the long game. We have equal placements in Fire, Air, and Water and this is a nice harmony....again...in theory...without Earth it still feels chaotic, mutable, and in general unstable....because it is...and if we focus on harnessing all the mutability...we can create incredible outcomes because of it, not in spite. We are in transition. As an individual and as a collective. Focus on what you want. Participate at a pace and in ways you can. All is helpful, just please do not tap out completely. Boundaries, limits, expectations, and hopes continue to sharpen. This week as Saturn moves into Aries for the first time since 1999 we gain focus on self-discipline, ambition, responsibility, and self assertion. And although Saturn doesn't do so well in Pisces (where it's been since 2023), it's considered to be in its fall in Aries. I don't prescribe to binaries and try to stay away from it. In astrology nothing is good or bad...but there can be ease or challenges and this is definitely a challenge. It sets a fire under our collective asses. It has us all focusing on what is best for us as an individual (more equity) but we can see how that can create conflict and challenge if everyone individually is focused on personal centering, yes? To harmonize this, we must embrace intersectionality. Freedom for one, is freedom for none. Justice for one is justice for none. We rise together. We thrive together. Our practices are genuinely meant for this. When we calm and center ourselves, we can earnestly do the same for the collective and the future. Tiny and mighty. It still matters. It always matters. This transit takes us to task in a really good way. We will start stepping up in ways we have not before. Go with it. Embrace it. It's a 3 year process. On top of all of this, we're in the eclipse portal. We just need to be aware of how big all the energetics are right now. On top of no Earth in the chart, a shift from one of our major planets (Saturn) the Universe says it's time for buckets full of energy/magic to be dumped on us as it hits the reset button of astrology (power off/power on) in eclipse season. This eclipse portal begins now, essentially, and closes March 13th. This is the period of time we will be uttering "Plot twist! " "That was not on my bingo card for 2026" or "I did not see that coming." PLEASE REMEMBER these things can be incredible gifts, happy surprises, opportunities, and blessings! It is truly wild times with incredible potential and wonderful Easter eggs tucked in them. Stay curious about what your soul really wants, and stay focused and committed to what you want. Where attention goes, energy flows. Tuesday, February 10th: Day 1 of Supportive Solutions - You'll need a wall space for this workout. I know it can be a tricky prop to require, but again I'm a super fan of this no cost support that can also create resistance. Simple is best and always works. Venus in Pisces. This is a regular transition. Venus continues to move her way through the chart house by house. She stays in a sign an average of 4 weeks at a time. Venus loves to be here! We are here for this romantic, poetic, creative, backstroke through our fantasies and realities. Embrace this. Fuel this. Spend extra time with Aphrodite in this period of time (till March 6th) to expand, grow, and protect all the good things in our lives (friendships, networks, communities, partners....overall connections). They both want our desires to become a reality. This is one of the major Easter eggs of 2026. Wednesday, February 11th: Listen to The Magic Spark. Thursday, February 12th: Connect in The Unicorn Wellness Studio private member group. Friday, February 13th: It's Goddess Day! Time to ask: What does my inner goddess need in order to remember she is sacred, divine, and designed to receive? Today is actual Goddess Day - a Friday on the 13th. This is not bad luck, this is a historical celebration of the female divine, in its origin terms, in honor of the 13 moon cycles, our personal 13 moon cycles. It's truly an anti-patriarchal day. Reclaim it. Celebrate. Embrace creative life force, it's unlimited hope and potential to forever recreate, birth, make new, and begin again. However it calls to you, spend time at your altar, spend time with your vessel/body. Remind yourself of the potential YOU are and can generate and participate in. -Mercury Retroshade begins. We know the drill: ▪️Mercury stations retrograde 3xs a year ▪️The slow down prior to stationing Rx is called the pre-shadow or as I call it Retroshade. ▪️The actual Rx is lighter than the pre or post shadow. ▪️This week and next (Retroshade) is the brochure of the lesson/blessing we are to work with in this cycle. ▪️We will revisit this opportunity again in the Rx (February 26th - March 19th) and post shadow (March 20th - April 3rd). This Retrograde isn't great. I cannot sugar coat it. Mercury is not the best swimmer. Things get mucky, confused, poetic, and sound really great but could just be pretty words and empty promises. It could, at its best, offer feeling to heal things, honest words, the get raw and hit soul truths but will take effort after retrograde to bring to actual fruition. Triple check communications, travel, and finances. As clarifying questions. If you think you should check on something, DO. We will thrive and survive, but know this one isn't set up for ease. Check what house Pisces is in in your natal chart. This is where your themes and focus will be. This is great energy for making and creating. Focus on that. Craft, write, sing, dance, garden, cook....this is the way through. Saturn moves into Aries. Please see Monday. But here's the repeat: Saturn moves into Aries for the first time since 1999. We gain focus on self-discipline, ambition, responsibility, and self assertion. And although Saturn doesn't do so well in Pisces (where it's been since 2023), it's considered to be in its fall in Aries. I don't prescribe to binaries and try to stay away from it in the astrology...nothing is good or bad...but there can be ease or challenges and this is definitely a challenge. This is one of the major shifts we experienced a toe dip into in 2025 but takes root now, in 2026. Neptune and Saturn are travel partners these days. Delusion, dreams, and what it takes to bring outcomes to fruition is the lesson they are trying to teach the collective. Day 1 of Core Solutions - You'll need a set of yoga blocks for this workout. It's extra core focused and you'll be better supported with a cork set of blocks for stability and resistance. Saturday, February 14th: First day of New Moon Energy. We begin the down turn of energy today. But this is no regular new moon we're headed towards on the 17th. We're in the eclipse portal and the energy may have gotten weirder already, as early as Monday or Tuesday. This is a new moon so it's all about clearing the schedule for restoration, rejuvenation, rest, and meditation. Things will shift. Let them. Whatever is leaving, going, releasing....let it. Welcome in the new, emotional intelligence upgrade. Use your monthly meditation (it's a 3rd eye cleanse), work with any of the Energy Healings; Frequency or Goddesses in your UWS member library. Now is the time for recalibration and healings. Sunday, February 15th: Your weekly mantra. I surrender to the pivot. I embrace the plot twist. I keep my heart and mind focused on what I want, wish, and desire. I allow the upgrades, the reveals, the resets, and the fresh timelines. Our wildest dreams are still possible. We hold the vision. Guest Author: Paul GregoryHeadline: A Tale of Two Funerals: Burial and DelusionSummary: While the world watched JFK's funeral, a small group buried Lee Harvey Oswald, with reporters serving as pallbearers. The Gregory family's Thanksgiving was overshadowed by the trauma and Margarite Oswald's erratic behavior, as she clashed with agents and insisted on her son's innocence.Article: As the nation mourned President Kennedy, Marina and Margarite struggled to bury Lee in a grim ceremony where reporters had to carry the coffin, with Marina devastated by the contrast between her husband's end and the televised images of the Kennedy family. The Gregory family spent a foggy Thanksgiving recovering from the ordeal, discussing Margarite's delusional assertions that she was being persecuted by the very Secret Service agents trying to protect her, behavior that highlighted the dysfunction she passed down to her son.
