It's show season and I am at the ATA Trade Show in Indianapolis. Its always fun to come to this show for me because these are my people. It is like a family reunion where I get to hang out with all my other industry buddies, meet new ones, get some business, and check out everything that is new in the archery world. While I was there I got with Casey Shoopman, and Tom James from The Management Advantage web show to cover a topic that I am not the best at, Self Filming. These guys have done a ton of it and know how to do it right. Listen along as they give their insight on setup, gear, advice, and some other good stuff. Be sure to check out some of their content on www.themanagementadvange.com
In part 2 of this episode covering the 2016 ATA Trade Show in Louisville, KY, I interview 6 more company representatives about new turkey hunting products. I interview Chris Parrish with Knight and Hale Game Calls, and we discuss a new striker and double sided call they have introduced this year. Eddie Salter with FlexTone tells us about and demonstrates a new call they are rolling out this season. Matt Morrett chats by with me for a bit about a new turkey decoy that Avian X is offering this year. I speak with Jimmy Ray Parish with Pennington Seed about plantings that we can do to improve the turkey habitat on our hunting properties. We talk about both annual and perennial plantings that will benefit wild turkeys. Aaron Keller discusses a new product called the Swagger Bipod that his company is rolling out to market later this year. This is the little bipod that could. This bipod will revolutionize shooting sports for many of us hunters and shooters. I also speak with Will Downard and Rick Franco with Turkey Fan about their turkey decoying/reaping product that dominated the NWTF Convention at last year’s show in Nashville. Listen in to this episode to learn about some products that can help you to have more success in the turkey woods this spring.

In this episode of The Turkey Hunter, I interview representatives from 5 different companies at the 2016 ATA Trade Show in Louisville, KY. Chris Currah with Lacrosse and Danner boots is up first to tell us about their new snakeproof boots for this year. Next are James Moelk and Rick Leasure with High Point Products to tell us about their line of gun/bow rests and camera holders. After that, I interview Adam Goess with ThermaCell to tell us about what they have that is new for 2016. Josh Silvia with ThermaCell Heated Products is after that. Josh talks about their line of rechargeable heated boot insoles and heat packs. I found a really cool product made by TORQ, and I tricked Rick D'Andrea into doing an interview with me to tell me about their all electric dune buggy. Lastly, Keith Beam with Drake's Adventures is with us to talk about his line of children's hunting sound books. These are really neat books that I think you'll want to get for your children or grandchildren.
On this episode of Gritty Bowmen, we travel to Louisville Kentucky to attend the ATA trade show--ATA stands for Archery Trade Association. The ATA Trade Show is the archery and bowhunting industry’s LARGEST show. The show is a member-driven event to promote commerce within the archery and bowhunting industry. In today’s podcast we visit with Eva Shockey. Eva’s dad, Jim Shockey, is one of the most well-known hunters in the world. Today, Eva co-hosts "Jim Shockey's Hunting Adventures" TV show and represents the Shockey family at outdoor trade and consumer shows. Eva was a breathe of fresh air. She was easy to talk to, down to earth, and an excellent ambassador for hunting--challenging the stereotypical image of the knuckle-dragging, fist pumping, male hunter; Eva makes it difficult for those against hunting to claim that hunters are uneducated, heartless, animal-hating human beings. And for this, I thank her. I hope you enjoy the show.

It’s pretty simple really.. don’t be jerk. And get out there and do your thing. Good luck on your hunts. And Stay Gritty!
