Steve Cunningham sits down with Dr. Alan Harrelson of The Pipe Cottage for a wide-ranging conversation on Catholicism, Southern culture, agrarianism, history, faith, family, and the possibility of a new Southern renaissance. Why does the American South still matter? What can Southern agrarianism teach a modern culture dominated by centralization, technology, urbanization, and the loss of local community?Dr. Harrelson discusses his conversion to Catholicism, his South Carolina roots, the influence of M. E. Bradford, Donald Davidson, Clyde Wilson, John Shelton Reed, the Southern Agrarians, Russell Kirk, Chesterton, Belloc, and others who defended the importance of tradition, place, agriculture, self-government, and the “permanent things.”The conversation also explores the Confederacy, slavery, historical memory, states' rights, centralized government, Catholic social teaching, subsidiarity, Southern literature, the importance of knowing where your people came from, and why younger Southerners increasingly want to rediscover their heritage.Dr. Harrelson also introduces the Bradford Institute and its inaugural gathering at Seabrook Island, South Carolina, featuring scholars devoted to Southern history, literature, culture, and conservative thought.Above everything else, Harrelson emphasizes that faith comes first: history and culture matter because they can help us better understand man, community, creation, and God.Topics: Catholicism • Southern History • Southern Agrarianism • M.E. The racism in the dance competition world doesn't always show up as outright hostility. Sometimes racism looks like a studio owner quietly leaving your name off the audition list. Nicaya Wiley spent seasons two through seven on Dance Moms, and on this episode of Dance Dad with John Corella, she gets honest about what the experience cost her. Growing up as a Black dancer in a predominantly white studio meant rarely receiving corrections in class, questioning whether her body was built for this, and getting body shamed on national television before she was old enough to process what was happening. Her mom is central to everything. She submitted Nicaya directly to casting when the studio tried to quietly leave her off the list. She faced racial slurs in the dressing room, none of which made the air. She came out as gay on the show, which Nicaya calls the boldest thing she has ever witnessed. And she raised a daughter who eventually learned to stop apologizing for the body she was born in. Black dancers and body image in dance training is something the industry still doesn't talk about enough. Nicaya reflects on what changed for her after studying with the late Judith Jamison and what diversity in professional dance feels like now, performing aboard a Norwegian Cruise Line ship with castmates who finally look like her. If you've been wondering about the Dance Moms cast and where they are now, Nicaya Wiley is still dancing, still growing, and still the person her mother raised her to be. Has the Iran war blown apart the American political establishment? The ceasefire may be holding - for now - but the political fallout is only getting bigger. Marjorie Taylor Greene says she's done with the Republican Party. Tucker Carlson claims he can no longer vote Republican. Nick Fuentes is urging his supporters to back the Democrats. Even Bill Maher says he'd consider voting GOP…Is MAGA beginning to fracture? And could the Iran war reshape American politics for years to come? Piers Morgan is joined by Taylor Greene herself to discuss why she's turning her back on the Republican Party, what she thinks of President Trump's handling of the conflict, and where America goes from here. Then, Piers is joined by No Spin News host Bill O'Reilly to get his take on the latest in US politics before welcoming his panel of guests who all backed America's military action against Iran and predicted the US would come out on top. After a small group of protesters showed up outside the station demanding Clay be fired for “hate speech,” Clay delivers a powerful, unapologetic response. He addresses the protest directly and makes it clear he has no intention of backing down or softening his message. Clay doubles down on the topics that have made him a target — calling out culture rot, the breakdown of the family, fatherlessness, crime, and degeneracy. He also speaks on masculinity, personal responsibility, and his criticism of the LGBTQ agenda, which he has dubbed “Rainbow Supremacy.” His message is simple and direct: he's not sorry for anything he's said on the show or online. Later in the episode, Clay hands out a new FAFO Championship to Justin Fowler, who had his probation revoked after being caught with contraband in the Rankin County Jail. Clay also touches on the tragic Simpson County double homicide and offers his thoughts on the case. This episode is a clear reminder that Clay Edwards is not changing course. What a true honor to welcome Michelle's friend, former colleague and star of The Wendy Williams Show (and his viral Instagram @thenormanbaker!) Norman Baker to the show for an hour of daytime TV chat that asks the classic question: What happened to Daytime?! Outside of reminiscing about Norman's former boss and their idol Wendy Williams and Michelle's former co-host and their idol Whoopi Goldberg, these two also recap a wedding they attended in Mexico recently where a slow-motion video left Mich rocking herself back and forth. Reality TV is next, with Traitors, Housewives and Survivor 50 all up for debate, and the days of Maury Povich are reminisced!! When accountability never comes, the emotionally sober person is often left carrying the weight of closure alone. In this episode, Denise explores why some people are incapable of real apology, how pseudo-apologies keep us emotionally tethered, and what it actually means to make peace without bypassing your pain. This is a grounded conversation about integrity, self-trust, and leading yourself when others refuse to take responsibility.Read the post: https://deniseglee.com/making-peace-with-people-who-never-apologize/If this conversation resonated with you, here's how you can support the show and stay connected:✅ Subscribe so you never miss an update.✅ Share this episode with someone who might benefit.✅ Leave a review—your feedback helps others find the show and grow on their journey.⸻Stay Connected with Me!Want to dive deeper? In today's episode, I'm unpacking something I've been sitting with for months: the idea that ambition and healing don't have to be at odds. I share how I got caught in the cycle of constantly looking backward, questioning my drive, and dimming my fire in the name of “doing the work.” Let's talk about finding the balance—and reclaiming your ambition as your superpower. If you've ever questioned your drive or felt torn between building and being, this one's for you.

Last week, world-class athlete Simone Biles stood up to failed-athlete-turned-crybully Riley Gaines when Riley antagonized a transgender child to her 1.5 million Twitter followers. A harassment campaign, which has become a standard (and winning!) online strategy for online right, ensued against Simone. The comments flooded in, eviscerating the gymnast (and her sponsors) — “So you want my daughter to compete against boys?” “How many medals would YOU have if you competed against MEN?” And perhaps most jarring, “I guess you want other little girls to get abused the way you did.” Things flew off the handle and became severely detached from reality, as they so often do in these campaigns. Facing endless harassment, Simone apologized, and Riley has been taking a Fox News victory lap ever since. Today, Natalie Wynn (a.k.a. Contrapoints) returns to the show as we explore the anatomy of a moral panic, the harassment campaigns which fuel them, and why you cannot compromise with a fascist. Tonight's message challenges the cultural acceptance of pride and self-sufficiency, urging believers to recognize the subtle dangers of pride, which leads to missteps and spiritual downfall. Using Galatians 5:16 as a foundational passage, it contrasts worldly wisdom with biblical truth, emphasizing the need to be bold in faith yet gentle in conduct. It highlights how modern society rebrands sin—such as greed as ambition or lust as love—leading many astray from God's path. Ultimately, the call to action is clear: humility and repentance are not weaknesses but essential biblical virtues, and believers must practice self-examination, accountability, and willingness to receive correction to remain aligned with God's truth.

This is something that our guest on today's program has spent years contemplating, interviewing people from all walks of life who have managed to stick to their principles in the face of an online mobbing, and not back down.Katherine Brodsky is a Canadian writer and commentator, and the author of No Apologies: How to Find and Free Your Voice in the Age of Outrage — Lessons for the Silenced Majority. You can find Tara Henley on Twitter at @TaraRHenley, and on Substack at tarahenley.substack.com
Episode 71: Tune into our chaotic & not-so-serious episode where we chat about 9 things we need to stop apologizing for. As girlies, we tend to lean into "I'm so sorry" for making decisions that are right for us. From outgrowing careers, to turning down dates, to leaving messages unanswered -- We're here to remind you that there's ways to have empathy and courtesy without needing to put yourself down along the way. Drilling this into our own heads as we're drilling it into yours… to hopefully help us worry and stress less, and sleep better at night lol Hopefully we all feel empowered now, ily
Paid subscribers get full access to my interview with Kathrine Brodsky. The first half of this episode is available to all listeners. To hear the entire conversation, become a paying subscriber here. Cultural critic Katherine Brodsky is an example of what Meghan likes to call “Heterodoxy 2.0.” She's committed to fighting censorship and groupthink but is also mindful of not becoming an ideologue herself. Born in the Soviet Union, she emigrated with her family to Israel and then Canada and is acutely sensitive to signs of creeping authoritarianism. She now lives in Vancouver and writes about a variety of topics, including the arts, technology, and the recently emerging debates about free speech and censorship. In her new book, No Apologies: How to Find and Free Your Voice in the Age of Outrage—Lessons for the Silenced Majority, Katherine recounts her own cancelation event but, more importantly, interviews a range of people—including Katie Herzog, Winston Marshall, Stephen Elliot, and Peter Boghossian, to name a few—who have fallen prey to the online mob. In this conversation, we talk about what can be learned from a cancelation, what has become of the “IDW,” and how to move free speech discourse in a more positive direction, less grievance-driven direction. ** GUEST BIO For over a decade, Katherine Brodsky has covered lifestyle and entertainment stories for works like Variety, WIRED, Newsweek, The Guardian, Esquire, The Independent, CNN Travel, Entertainment Weekly, Playboy Magazine, USA Today, Delta Sky, Mashable, and more. She has interviewed many personalities, including winners and nominees of the Academy Awards, Emmys, Grammys, Pulitzers, Tonys, and even the Nobel Prize. You can read her work at her Substack here. As Christians, we should never apologize for having boundaries. Boundaries are the investment we make to ensure that toxicity doesn't vandalize our peace.

“The best piece of advice is three words: Ask-for-help.” —David Meltzer Every day, we are faced with decisions which can impact our happiness— what we choose to do with our time, how we react to difficult situations, and what we focus on. At the end of the day, true meaning, abundance, and happiness can only be achieved when we take control of our lives by reflecting on our experiences and practicing gratitude for all that has been given to us. And the key is ascribing the right meaning to them. In this episode, Daniel sits with Dave Meltzer, the CEO of the renowned Leigh Steinberg Sports & Entertainment agency and co-founder of Sports 1 Marketing to talk about how we can craft the right meaning from our past. From gaining growth, joy, and wisdom through reflection and gratitude to understanding the power of success and wealth, Daniel and Dave will also help us uncover the wisdom and knowledge needed to unlock our fullest potential. Additionally, they share lessons on putting meaning to our past as well as perceiving abundance, attaining happiness, the two types of ignorant people, being intelligent followers, never apologizing but always utilizing gratitude, and the best advice anyone will ever hear.
