Man...this weeks show had some interesting things to talk about. Malik Yoba thanks fans for supporting after he reveals his attraction to Trans women, huh?? With shows like Orange Is The New Black, Star, and Pose, black trans women have been put in the national spotlight. Hollywood is embracing that community, but there is still a stigma connected to black men that are attracted to trans women. For example, G-Unit founder 50 Cent has been making fun of Young Buck, his former friend, for allegedly dating trans women. "Right Thurr" rapper Chingy claimed false rumors that he was involved with transgender celebrity Sidney Starr hindered his career. New York Undercover and Empire actor Malik Yoba took to Instagram to call out black men for perpetuating homophobia and transphobia. Check out what he has to say! In unfortunate news, Kevin Hart reportedly underwent successful back surgery following an accident that left him badly injured when the driver of his classic 1970 Plymouth Barracuda lost control of the vehicle and smashed into a ditch in Calabasas, California. Kevin Hart’s wife has assured fans the comedian is fine after escaping a nasty car crash this past Sunday morning. Prayers to Kevin!! Ben & Jerry's is taking on Criminal Justice Reform with a new flavor called, "Justice Remix'd." Eddie Murphy is coming back to Saturday Night Live. The SNL alum has been booked to host the December 21 edition of the show’s 45th season. The legendary comedian’s return to SNL will be his first time hosting the iconic sketch series in 35 years. Murphy made a brief appearance at the show’s 40th anniversary special in 2015 but has otherwise boycotted it for decades. Long time overdue, Eddie. Now this is a crazy one! Death Row Records has reportedly been acquired by the Hasbro toy company, the same entity responsible for several classic toys such as Mr. Potato Head, My Little Pony and G.I. Joe. Go figure that after Suge Knight gets locked up, a company like this aquires all them...wow! Also, one of the new hosts of Illastr8, 'Ms. T. Graye' had an exclusive interview with comedian and former host BET's "Rap City", Joe Clair (@joeclair) that can only be heard on Illastr8 Radio! Where back at it again next Wednesday with more of what you want!

Big change is inevitable. For instance, there's a new Black pop culture trivia game, "Say It Loud". The game features questions that span decades of music, movies, television shows and literature with clues ranging from obvious to obscure. The five categories, S = Music, A = Books, Literature, the Arts, Y = Television, I = Movies, T = People, Places, and Things. Check out what the game is about from the crew. Was racism why Adele beat Beyoncé at the Grammys? Even Adele thinks Beyoncé "Lemonade" won for best urban contemporary album. Her hit "Formation" won for best music video. There have actually been a few artists of color who have won album of the year during that time period: "The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill" in 199; Carlos Santana's "Supernatural" won the following year; "Speakerboxxx/The Love Below" by Outkast took home the Grammy in 2004 and Ray Charles won posthumously in 2005 for "Genius Love Company". Finally, a black contestant will be handing out the roses - multiple sources say Rachel Lindsay will be the next 'Bachelorette'. Rachel Lindsay, a Texas attorney, marks the first time a black contestant will be the lead in 21 'Bachelor' seasons and 12 'Bacherlorette' seasons. Unprecedented Proposed Law Provides African Americans Reparations and Opportunities to Better Their Lives. The Legislation will help descendants of American Slaves, many of whom live in poor, underserved, and high crime areas in the United States. The benefits are not handouts, and differ from other historical reparations, such as those given to Japanese citizens entered during WW II and Native Americans. Those claiming benefits must be 40% descendants of slaves, and born in the United States. Spanning the 19 years between 1989 and 2008, BET's Rap City was the longest running hip-hop TV show in history. It helped rap grow from urban shout to suburban obsession in the late Eighties, documented the initial reigns of Los Angeles and Atlanta in the Nineties and, most famously, helped make freestyling fashionable in the image-conscious society. To represent this, we had in studio BET Rap City Hosts (1989-93) Hans "Prime" Dobson and Prince Dajour (1991-94). You HAVE to check this interview out to get the oral history from the pioneers!
We had a very special guest for this show; we'll let you know shortly. Until then, there were some other pressing conversation to discuss. An American-born man who'd pledged allegiance to ISIS gunned down 49 people early Sunday at a gay nightclub in Orlando, the deadliest mass shooting in the United States and the nations' worst terror attach since 9/11. Everyone is in mourning for this tragic loss! The crew had some very profound things to say about this. To transition to foolishness, R&B singer, Trey Songz apparently got tired of watching Drake have all the fun, and put together a rival poolside turn up. The singer spent $25k to rent a massive 23,000 square foot home Sunday in McLean, VA - just outside of DC - and the guest list was 700 deep, including NBA star Kevin Durant and a bunch of Washington Redskins players. I guess if your going to do it...do it BIG. Lil Wayne ingested an extraordinary amount of lean in the hours leading up to his multiple midair seizures. Weezy was cruising around with five 16 oz. bottles of Promethazine/Codeine syrup during his club appearance in Milwaukee over the weekend; with one onlooker telling us Wayne downed 3 bottles just by himself. This prompted 2 emergency landings. This has to stop! Too many people have died doing this stuff. Our favorite Kardashian, Kanye West announces North American dates for The Saint Pablo Tour. For the first time in three years, the Grammy winner is getting back on the road in honor of his seventh studio album, The Life of Pablo. The concerts will kick off in Indianapolis on August 25 and run through North America, covering major cities like Boston, Atlanta, Miami and New York City, before finishing in Las Vegas on October 29. Well - the surprise is over...Chris "Mayor of Rap City" Thomas was our special guest host! The 1st host of BET's Rap City caught us up on what's he's done and some of the new things he's doing now.
