150th Anniversary Celebration Lyndon Reiff Today we celebrate 150 years of Christian witness at 5 Pulham Road, we reflected on the faithful generations who have gone before us, whose sacrifice, generosity, and obedience have made today's ministry possible. From the Talent Initiative to future projects that create space for mission, we are reminded that the Church is never about preserving a building, but partnering with Jesus in His ongoing work. Though styles, people, and generations change, the message of Christ remains the same, and we are invited to continue this legacy by saying “yes” to His call, carrying His hope into our community, and faithfully building for those who will come after us.

The 2026 VW show season is officially underway, and Bill is gearing up for one of the biggest Volkswagen adventures of the year. Before heading overseas, Bill will be taking the legendary Type 34 Karmann Ghia "Zorba" to two major events: Luft Zeigen on June 13th and the EMPI 70th Anniversary Celebration on June 20th. From there, the journey continues across the Atlantic to the United Kingdom, where he'll pick up the famous orange Katastrophenschutz Bus and begin an epic European road trip. The route will take Bill and friends from the UK across the Netherlands and into Germany for the world-famous Hessisch Oldendorf Volkswagen Treffen, one of the most significant vintage VW events on the planet. After Germany, the adventure continues through Europe before arriving in Belgium for the legendary European Bug-In at Chimay, where thousands of air-cooled Volkswagen enthusiasts gather each year. In this special episode of Deacons Pod, we feature an audio diary created by Deacon Mike Hayes while he attended the 25th anniversary celebrations for the Paulist Fathers' media ministry Busted Halo held April 18 and April 19, 2026, in New York City. Deacon Mike, now one of the Paulist Deacon Affiliates, was one of the founders of Busted Halo in 2001. In this audio diary, he recalls some of the ministry's early days, including the origin of the name "Busted Halo." He also chats with Paulist Fr. Frank DeSiano, who was president of the Paulists when Busted Halo launched.

Carla Wallace, co-founder of LSURJ (Louisville Standing Up for Racial Justice) and of Louisville's Fairness Campaign, as well as inductee into the Kentucky Civil Rights Hall of Fame, was the featured speaker at Forward Radio's 9th Anniversary Celebration. She spoke on building coalitions in an era of encroaching authoritarianism and finding areas of commonality among diverse groups of people and organizations. Following her talk were brief remarks made by Ruth Newman, general manager of Forward Radio, promoting what she's calling CollaboRadio, which asks nonprofits and other groups to make use of community radio's shared communications platform to reach out into the community to help synchronize and expand grassroots efforts to resist inhumane, unethical acts and to strengthen community ties.
