This week, the grumpy crew is back with another unfiltered, no-holds-barred discussion! We dive into the struggles of **returning to work after a long layoff due to injury**—because adulting is hard, especially when your body betrays you. Then, we tackle the ultimate **hypothetical question: Would you save your wife or your child?** (Spoiler: There are no right answers, only regrets.) Next up, we ask the age-old question: **Do women want too much?** (Cue the angry DMs.) From there, we vent about the **NCAA transfer portal and NIL deals**—because college sports might be more chaotic than our love lives. And speaking of chaos, we debate **LeBron vs. Stephen A. Smith**—who's really running the sports media world? Finally, we react to **Malik Yoba identifying as a non-Black man**—because 2024 just keeps getting weirder. Buckle up for rants, laughs, and maybe a few regrets.

This week on Black on Black Cinema, the next film is announced, "Tyler Perry's Duplicity." The film follows a high-powered attorney named Marley who faces her most personal case yet when she is tasked with uncovering the truth behind the shooting of her best friend Fela's husband. The random topic this week is about some rather odd takes on Blackness from Malik Yoba's while sarcastic commentary on how Black people should refer to themselves in the wake of rising hatred toward us to Robert Griffin III's very serious statements on Black prominent figures' political importance that are seemingly so devoid of context and understanding of history that it would be impressive if it were not so utterly stupid.

In this week's episode of PSA: The Mental Health Podcast, Izzy teams up with special guest Alyce Rose for an unfiltered conversation on race, masculinity, grief, and group identity. This Mental Man Monday deep dive unpacks three trending and controversial stories dominating headlines and timelines alike. First, actor Malik Yoba, best known for his role in Why Did I Get Married, recently stated that he no longer identifies as Black, choosing instead to describe himself as "non-white." Alyce and Izzy explore whether this is a protective move in a racially charged society—or a form of self-denial that could create more confusion than clarity, especially in professional spaces.Next, the duo reacts to Houston rapper Sauce Walka, who was shot in Memphis and quickly returned to social media with upbeat posts, despite his close friend being fatally wounded. Is his behavior a trauma response, a street image tactic, or something more concerning? Izzy draws parallels to past incidents involving other rappers, raising critical questions about how grief and survival are handled publicly. Finally, Jim Jones goes viral for his comments on fraternities, likening them to gang culture. Alyce, who has first-hand Greek experience, pushes back hard. The conversation also reflects on the recent hazing-related death of Southern University student Caleb Wilson and what this says about accountability, tradition, and the mental toll of belonging. This episode is real, thought-provoking, and layered—perfect for listeners navigating identity, cultural pressures, and emotional growth in today's world. It is Tuesday on The Rickey Smiley Morning Show Podcast, and in an abbreviated edition, the RSMS crew has a lot of information and laughs to give. Carl Crawford, former baseball player and record executive, has said that he would do things with Megan Thee Stallion differently. The 1501 Certified Entertainment CEO said that he has learned his lesson from the Megan situation, and he would not behave the same way he did before because it has pushed artists away from his label. Malik Yoba has said that he is no longer a black man. Yoba said that now he wants to be considered a non-white person. This is in lieu of diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives being rolled back. Also, Gen Z is not waiting to get old to enjoy life. Gen Z are making micro retirements the new norm, which they will take extended breaks between jobs. What do you think about micro retirements? Greetings Glocal Citizens! This week's episode and herstory really hit close to home. We recorded this interview on Ghana's Independence Day (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VJ9ZcXEXOh0), March 6th--or 6th March as we say in Ghana. And while days like this are meant to be celebrations of freedom and recognition of the work and struggles that went into the founding of the republic, my enthusiasm was half-hearted. If Africa, Africans and all people of the African Diaspora are honest with ourselves we have to accept that decolonization is an unfinished job. There is work to do. I, like my guest this week accept it and for me, I am reminded and empowered to ramp up the why of Glocal Citizens and my passion for manifesting a new world. My guest, Brooklyn sistren, and neighbor, Valerie White is as committed and has shown this commitment in a 30+ year career dedicated to economic and social empowerment across the public, private and nonprofit sectors. Valerie is currently Senior Executive Director of LISC (Local Initiatives Support Corporation) NY (https://www.lisc.org/ny/) where she is responsible for leading the expansion strategy promoting LISC's statewide efforts to create an economic and community development ecosystem addressing deep-rooted systemic inequities. This week on The Pod Charles Cinecast, presented by The Prince Charles Cinema, our hosts Jonathan Foster and Fil Freitas head to Calgary, Alberta, Canada to pay respects to the legendary Hart wrestling family, and stumble upon a group of Jamaican's training to be Olympic Bobsleighers. We take another dip in 1993 – The Filaversary – with John Turteltaub's sports comedy, COOL RUNNINGS, starring John Candy, Leon, Doug E. Doug, Rawle D. Lewis and Malik Yoba. Loosely based on the real story of the Jamaican bobsleigh team, that qualified to compete in the 1988 Winter Olympics, we take a look back on this 30-year-old classic, and have varying opinions on how it has held up. Expect lots of arguing, as we dive into how this one got made, an original version of the film, the true story behind the 1988 Jamaican team, and we show some love for John Candy and Leon Robinson (who is probably one of the more underrated Black American actors of his era – seriously, seek out his role as David Ruffin in The Temptations TV movie)."Feel the rhythm! Abdul-Malik Kashie Yoba aka Malik Yoba, is a tour de force humanitarian, musician, writer, actor, director, social justice warrior, with a list of achievements and accolades as long as an orangutans arm. The list of his numerous achievements in show business dwarfs in comparison to his numerous kind acts and compassion towards his fellow human beings. Malik and I met a little over 25 years ago on the set of our feature film debuts. That film was called “Cool Runnings” released by Disney. Film costars don't always get along but we hit it off right away. I can remember screen-testing with Malik doing a now famous mirror scene from “Cool Runnings”, thinking to myself, our friendship feels real. This doesn't feel like acting at all. I have always been drawn to Malik's realness and kindness. In a world of great pretenders, this quality sticks out like Pinocchio's nose. This podcast is about me giving the audience a chance to see the real Malik. Through our conversation you get to sense and feel the man, his philosophy, his concerns, his passions, humor and vulnerabilities. In a world of salacious soundbites and click baits it becomes increasingly difficult to tell who any of us we are. Listening has become my remedy for this. By allowing individuals to share their stories while refraining from judgements, I learn more about the truth and the world. Enjoy Malik's story. I think you'll find his world an interesting one. --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/rawle-d/message
