I used to be a book blogger. And let me tell you: it was SO hard to earn money through my blog! Most book bloggers earn less than $10 per month off ads and affiliate links. I find that incredibly unfair! They put hours into reading and reviewing a book, taking pictures for their instagram etc - promoting books and authors to a vast network of readers and followers. Yet they hardly earn anything. That is why in this episode I will explain why it is so hard for book bloggers to earn money with blogging - and what you, as a book blogger, can do about this. --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/lieze-neven4/message

Since 2010, author assistant Kate Tilton assisted authors in reaching readers and helped readers connect with authors (and each other). The publishing world is a community of those who love reading. Authors need readers like readers need authors and Kate has made it her mission to connect the two. On the blog you will find access to Kate Tilton’s Book Bloggers which is a group of bloggers (authors & readers) who work together to promote reading while also developing connections with other readers. On Twitter you will find the weekly #K8chat, the first chat designed for both authors and readers with weekly topics both groups can enjoy together. And now you can continue the conversation on the #k8chat forums, open 24/7.

Kari is an NYU graduate with blood that runs Tennessee orange. At the age of ten, her mother observed her straightening books on the shelves at a local Barnes & Noble and said, "Maybe you should be a librarian." After a three-year stint at her neighborhood public library prior to college, she now works in marketing at a small children's educational publisher that supplies the books she used to shelve. When she's not surrounded by books, you can find her hunting down the best fountain Coke in the city, taking advantage of free events, and exploring neighborhoods on her bike. She lives on Manhattan's Upper East Side. You can also find her here.

I am the mother of two wonderful children, The Turkeybird and Littlebug, just under two years apart in age and wife to an amazing husband who was recently accepted to the California Bar Association. Yay! When two toddlers aren't consuming my every thought I like to do other things like read, write, watch movies, play the flute, listen to music and oh yes, blog! I've had an affinity for books since I was very young and promptly had it squashed by brooding high school English teachers. Fortunately though, my constantly-reading children and my fabulous husband (who happens to be an English major) helped to rekindle the love of my youth, books. Because I found it so difficult to find the right books for my children, especially after The Turkeybird was born, I decided to start my site to help others who may also be struggling to find the right books as well. Ultimately, it was my newly discovered passion for children's books that gave me the push to get my site There's A Book started and I haven't looked back.

Before beginning her writing career, Beth Hoffman was the president and co-owner of a successful interior design studio in Cincinnati, Ohio. Though she began writing fiction at the age of twelve, it took the proverbial near-death experience to shake her up enough to focus her energies toward her secret, life-long dream: to write a novel. After several years of contemplating what she knew would be a life-altering career change that held no guarantees, Beth sold her portion of the design business, went home, and plunked down at her computer. She didn’t come up for air until she typed “The End” nearly four years later. Beth laughs and says, “It was the gutsiest thing I’ve ever done.”An artist as well as an award-winning interior designer, Beth’s paintings and drawings (in the mediums of oil, watercolor, colored pencil, and ink) are displayed in private and corporate collections in the United States, Canada, and the UK.
