Pastor Rod speak about what it means to live the Christ Life and what it looks like.
Pastor Scott opens with a tender reminder — we need God's nearness like a sick child needs their mother — and then walks us through John 14:15–21, unpacking how Jesus equips us with wisdom and life. Drawing from the wisdom books (Proverbs, Ecclesiastes, Job), he shows how true wisdom begins in the fear of the Lord, how love for Christ is expressed by keeping His commandments, and how the Holy Spirit (the Parakletos) is our ever-present Helper and strength. This message calls us to patient endurance (hupomone), to live as temples of the Spirit, and to rest in the gospel: the cross paid the price so we might be made righteous and secure in God's love. Key takeaways: - A wise life requires patient endurance (hupomone) to remain with Jesus. - If you are in Christ, you are a temple of the Holy Spirit — He is the fulfilling life. - The gospel proves God's holiness and love: the cross is real payment, and we are truly justified and secure.
Need help choosing steps on the Clear Path of Discipleship that fit your community? Today, we dive into the heart of missionary transformation: the conversion moment. I sit down with my team to unpack why these moments matter—and how they're changing lives in real time. You'll hear unforgettable stories (like a bartender who became a parish secretary) and see how ministries like Alpha, ChristLife, and parish retreats are helping people truly encounter Jesus. But this isn't just about programs. It's about creating space for people to meet Jesus—and letting that encounter ripple out into the life of your parish. We talk about what's working, what's not, and how to choose a format that actually fits your community. We also get real about the challenges—and the surprising opportunities—of doing this in diverse or bilingual settings. If you're trying to figure out where to start, or wondering how to take your next step toward a more missionary parish, this episode is for you. Get ready to think big—and start small. [01:09] Understanding Conversion Moments [07:12] Why Parishes Need Conversion Moments [12:16] Pros and Cons of Different Formats [15:50] Small Groups and Flexibility [18:55] Unity in Multilingual Parishes [24:28] Cultural Shifts and Strategic Planning [29:45] Choosing the Right Conversion Moment [32:59] Forming Missionary Leaders [37:51] The Role of Discernment in Ministry [43:03] Practical Tips for Implementing Conversion Moments [46:24] Inspiring Stories of Conversion [51:52] Common Pitfalls and How to Avoid Them Don't forget to check out Options for Conversion Moments (https://equip.archomaha.org/wp-content/uploads/2024/04/Options-for-Conversion-Moments-1.pdf). Sunday morning message from the pulpit of Falls Baptist Church
If someone were to sincerely come up and ask you: "What is the Christian life?" How would you describe it? Let's pause this week and ask ourselves this same question. By doing so, it may lead us to pause and reflect—and perhaps learn something from the One who abides within. Has our belief in Jesus Christ been turned into something that can be found in the smorgasbord of most of the thousands of other religions that are out there? Have we shrunk what was meant to be a supernatural, interactive relationship down to a "to-do" list of rigorous religious routines that focus more on the external ... while leading many towards self-condemnation and the judging of others? Maybe (just maybe) life in Christ is far wider, longer, higher, and deeper than what we have known. Perhaps God wants us to experience Him in a way that abundantly exceeds our limited assumptions—significantly beyond what we could ask or think regarding the doctrines of men, theology, and Bible interpretations. You want this. In fact, you inwardly long for it ... and the good news is ... God wants you to have it. --Available on Amazon - "Clash of The Covenants: Escaping Religious Bondage Through the Grace Guarantee" https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0713ZSKY7

It is an epic event when the One who makes the world names us as a gift, baldly stating reality.
