The Karl and Crew Mornings podcast has been an absolute blessing in my life. I am incredibly grateful for all that I have learned from this show on Moody Radio. It has provided me with unwavering support and encouragement during challenging times, thanks to the hosts' dedication to sharing God's word. As someone who no longer commutes, I have found immense value in this podcast as it has become one of my most cherished resources for each day. The impact it has had on my spiritual growth is immeasurable, and I cannot sing enough praises for Karl and the crew.
One of the best aspects of the Karl and Crew Mornings podcast is their ability to engage in stimulating conversations. The topics they discuss are thought-provoking and often lead to deep reflection. Through these conversations, they manage to convict, encourage, and teach listeners like myself about various aspects of our faith journey. Their insights into Scripture are profound, helping to shed light on certain passages or providing a fresh perspective on familiar stories. This podcast truly serves as a powerful tool for anyone seeking personal growth in Jesus Christ.
While it pains me to say this because I genuinely love everything about this podcast, if there was one drawback, it would be the occasional lack of variety in guest speakers or perspectives. While Karl and the crew bring incredible insights themselves, having different voices occasionally could provide even more depth to the discussions. That being said, this is only a minor issue in an otherwise exceptional program.
In conclusion, the Karl and Crew Mornings podcast on Moody Radio is an absolute gem that I am forever grateful for discovering. The impact it has had on my life cannot be overstated. Through their commitment to sharing God's word and providing encouragement along the way, Karl and his crew have created a space where we can grow together in our journey with Jesus Christ. Despite the lack of variety in guest speakers at times, their stimulating conversations make up for it by convicting, encouraging, and teaching listeners like me. This podcast is truly a triple boom in every sense of the word!

Today, on Karl and Crew, we discussed the importance of being rooted in the Lord and His Word. We turned to Psalm 1, which compares a child of God to a tree. A child of God is considered a tree planted by the waters, has flourishing leaves, yields fruit in their season, meditates on the word day and night, and their nourishment comes from God. The chapter then speaks about the ungodly and how its tree is weaker, taken by the wind, and will perish because it's not rooted in Him. We turned to the phone lines to hear from our listeners about the scriptures they hold onto. We also had Greg Dempter join us to talk about the disruptive emotions leaders can feel during chaos and busyness, and how inner peace comes only from God through all that noise. We turned to Luke 15:11-24 to analyze the parable of the Prodigal Son, as it relates to the rejoice and warm embrace our Heavenly Father has waiting for us whenever we come to Him. Our Heavenly Father wants an intimate and devoted relationship with us all, but we have to cast away the things of the world and submit to Him as the Prodigal son did when returning to his father. We also heard from Anne Graham Lotz, who shared her memorable moments with her Dad, Billy Graham, before his passing. Anne is known for her deep biblical wisdom, as she speaks globally and was called “the best preacher in the family” by her late father. We also had Karl pop in from Burundi, East Africa, to provide us with an update on what’s going on there. Then we heard a testimony from one of the listeners in the Boom Crew, Josiah. Today, Karl and Crew continued the weekly theme of “Fathers in the Bible” by discussing how God can break generational curses passed down through families. As followers of Christ, we have a Father who can deliver us from wicked patterns, so long as we turn to Him for guidance. We see this in 2 Kings 21, where we read about King Manasseh, the most wicked king in the Bible. Manasseh chose to do evil in the sight of the Lord, and after his reign, one of his sons, Amon, followed in his footsteps; however, his grandson, Josiah, broke the pattern and sought the Lord throughout his reign as king. We also heard similar stories from our listeners as they called to share how they chose a different path than their family when pursuing the Lord. We then spoke with David Stephens about the importance of discipleship with younger believers. Today on Karl and Crew, we continued our weekly theme of Fathers in the Bible as we flipped to Exodus 18 to analyze Moses and his father-in-law, Jethro, as father-figures. We saw how Jethro provided counsel to Moses regarding his leadership, and because of the context of their relationship and who Jethro was, Moses was humble and receptive to it. Often, God places father-figures in our lives to help guide and counsel us because they may have experience or wisdom in areas we may not. We turned to the phone lines to hear about the father-figures in the lives of our listeners and how they impacted their lives. We also had Ron Deal join us to discuss the role and significance of a non-biological father figure, the step-dad. On this Freedom Friday, we celebrated the freedom that comes from having a relationship with Jesus and no longer being in darkness. Sometimes, we can do all the right things but remain lost. We could attend church every Sunday, participate in Bible Study, sing with the choir, volunteer, etc., but still not know who Christ is. The testimonies shared by Karl and Crew this week shed some light on how each member had a false sense of salvation at a point in their walk with Christ. Today, we asked our listeners to share their coming-to-Christ stories. Was there a time when you were in church but didn’t know Christ? Today, on Karl and Crew, we continued our weekly theme of “Abide in God” by discussing the three baits that Satan uses to get us out of proximity with God. We looked at John 15, where Jesus says that we must remain connected to Him to produce fruit and that without Him, we produce nothing. Satan doesn’t want us to be connected and will try to lead us away from Jesus. We turned to Matthew 4, where we analyzed the three ways Satan tried to separate Jesus from God and how he tries to do the same to us. Oftentimes, Satan will use the Hallucination of Salvation to deter us from abiding in God. Phillip Miller joined the conversation and provided insight into how being connected and having our identity rooted in Christ is imperative. Philip is the Senior Pastor of the Moody Church. He can also be heard on the weekly “Moody Church Hour” nationwide radio broadcast on 90.1-WMBI-FM on Sundays at 10 am. Philip also has over 15 years of ministry experience. We turned to John 15 to analyze Jesus’s metaphor of the grapevine. The Father is the Gardener, Jesus is the grapevine, and we are the branches. We also had Lori Ridder come in and share her testimony. Today, on Karl and Crew, we continued our weekly focus on David as we analyzed his leadership and his inclination to seek the Lord’s counsel. David was placed in a position of power as king, and instead of being led by man or power, he constantly sought the Lord when making decisions. We see this in 1 and 2 Samuel, David sought God from when King Saul was hunting him to when he was on the throne, making royal decisions. How often are you leaning on the Lord for counsel? Today, on Karl and Crew, we discussed how difficult it can be to continue doing good when others are rewarded for doing bad. As followers of Christ, we are called to trust, commit, and abide in the Lord despite what others do, which means doing the right thing. We must cling to Him and play the long game, knowing that He will handle it all in the end. Psalm 37 affirms this because it tells us not to fret over evildoers but to trust in Him patiently. Have you been playing the long game with the Lord? We also had Laine Lawson Craft join us to talk about how to fight for your children with prayer. Laine is a dynamic speaker and host of the top-ranked podcast, Warfare Parenting. There is nothing we can do that can keep us from God when we truly lay before His throne, because He can take the bad and turn it for good.
