She encourages listeners to focus on taking the next right step, recognize how much progress they've already made, push through the “messy middle,” and refuse to let criticism, rejection, or other people's limitations determine what they believe is possible. Ultimately, Rachel argues that perseverance matters more than perfect motivation and challenges listeners to keep moving forward so they can build a life they're proud of rather than look back with regret.*Friday Favorites are a collection of our all-time most popular episodes replayed for the newest members of the community and anyone who wants a relisten. What's something you use or do all the time that you could completely live without for the next five years?
"I wanted someone who was helping with proactive strategies. So if I'm sick one to two days a year, I want a doctor, but the 363 other days a year, I want someone helping me with strategies to not get sick. Unfortunately, our doctors aren't trained for that; the medical system doesn't have that." —Keith Bozeman Proactive healthcare shouldn't wait until you're sick — that's the entire premise behind Medgevity, the concierge, physician-led practice built by this week's guest, Keith Bozeman. After losing access to the kind of doctor who actually had time for him, Keith set out to rebuild what he'd lost: a coordinated team of a physician, dietitian, and exercise scientist working together year-round, not just during an annual physical. In this conversation, Keith and host Justine Reichman dig into what it actually looks like to have a health team instead of a single doctor squeezing you into a 15-minute slot. They talk about DEXA scans that reveal what the bathroom scale hides, why cholesterol numbers alone don't tell the full story, and why perimenopause and andropause so rarely get discussed before they hit. This episode is for anyone in midlife who's frustrated with reactive medicine and wondering what a proactive, team-based approach could actually change. By the end, you'll understand why Keith insists the doctor has to be the quarterback of your care — and why he thinks gyms, not hospitals, might be the next healthcare hub in your community. Key takeaways: A patient who lost only five pounds on the scale actually lost nine pounds of fat and gained four pounds of muscle — proof that body composition data tells a truer story than weight alone. High cholesterol doesn't automatically mean a statin is the right call; additional data like calcium and soft plaque scores can change the decision entirely. Most people get zero guidance before perimenopause or andropause hits, even during annual OB/GYN visits, leaving couples blindsided by symptoms no one warned them about. Medgevity doesn't mark up any test or supplement it recommends, removing the financial incentive that often muddies medical advice. It took Keith at least 18 months and one trusted dietitian saying yes before Medgevity had a functioning team — proactive healthcare had to be built relationship by relationship. Partnering with gyms instead of building brick-and-mortar clinics let Medgevity reach people nationwide without the geographic limits of an in-person practice. Listen to the full conversation to hear Keith's complete story, and subscribe to Essential Ingredients so you never miss an episode: https://tinyurl.com/Essential-Ingredients-Podcast Meet Keith: Keith Bozeman is a healthcare entrepreneur, business leader, and Founder & CEO of MEDgevity, a physician-led healthcare company focused on longevity, preventive medicine, and personalized wellness. Before founding MEDgevity, Keith built an accomplished executive career in the technology and business services sectors, serving as President of TEKsystems and holding multiple senior leadership positions throughout his tenure. He also contributed to the startup ecosystem as a Principal at Blu Venture Investors, supporting emerging technology companies and growth-focused ventures. Under Keith's leadership, MEDgevity has expanded its network of physicians, nutrition experts, and health professionals while embracing artificial intelligence and modern healthcare solutions to improve patient outcomes. What if Jesus is more than you think He is? In Part 1 of The Father's Heart series with Demetrius Archontakis, we explore what it really means to follow Jesus - and what changes when we move beyond religious titles, accomplishments, and simply having knowledge about Him to truly understanding who He is, what He represents, and what He has done for us. Demetri shares why he believes modern Christianity has lost something essential: discipleship. We explore the difference between knowing about Jesus and knowing Him personally, why our past does not have to define our identity, and what it means to live from the freedom Christ has already given us. Whether you're a business owner, leader, parent, pastor, or simply someone seeking to follow Jesus more fully, this conversation challenges us to look beyond what we think we know and ask a deeper question: Who is Jesus - and what does it really mean to follow Him? What We Discuss Why Jesus (not our titles, accomplishments, or gifting) is our true qualification The difference between knowing about Jesus and actually knowing Him personally What it means to make Jesus the center of our identity Why discipleship is not just for pastors or people working in ministry How our everyday lives become our sphere of influence and discipleship What Jesus meant when He said, "I am the way, the truth, and the life" Understanding Jesus not as someone who shows us the way, but who is the Way Why our past does not have to define who we are What it means to live from the freedom Christ has already given us How the renewal of our minds helps us walk in that freedom The difference between finding Christ and finding His life Why transformation begins in the heart What Jesus teaches us about selflessness, surrender, and dying to self Jesus as the ultimate model of leadership - never hurried, never striving, always about His Father's business What we can learn from those throughout history who valued following Christ above comfort or even life itself Understanding Chronos and Kairos moments and why we can't remain stuck in yesterday Why salvation isn't the end of the journey, but an invitation into a new way of living Episode Highlights 00:00 — Introduction 02:25 — Ministry Beyond the Church Walls 04:24 — What Does It Mean to Be a Disciple Maker? 06:46 — Your Accomplishments Don't Define You 09:11 — Identity Begins with Christ 11:37 — What Does It Mean to Be "In Christ"? 13:52 — Breaking Free from the Identity of Your Past 16:04 — Who Is Jesus? Sir Richard Harpin put £50,000 of his life savings into a business that nearly collapsed—twice. That company eventually became HomeServe, serving millions of customers globally before being sold for more than £4 billion. In this episode, Richard joins Ilana to share the lessons behind that extraordinary journey, from finding the business model that saved HomeServe with his final £10,000 to learning how to scale internationally, hire leaders better than himself, and stay focused when entrepreneurs are naturally drawn to the next big idea. Richard also shares lessons from his book, How to Make a Billion in Nine Steps, including why copying a proven model can be smarter than inventing something new, why every entrepreneur needs a “not-to-do” list, and the two mistakes he sees holding ambitious founders back. A Prayer for Strength When We Want to Give Uphttps://lifemotivationdaily.blogspot.com/
This week, Ryan Patrick Murphy shares a message from Galatians 6:7–9 titled "Don't Give Up Before the Harvest." Using the biblical metaphor of sowing and reaping, Ryan unpacks what it looks like to partner with God for breakthrough rather than waiting passively for a "lightning zap from heaven."Ryan walks through five principles drawn from the text: the law of sowing and reaping works because of who God is, not because of our effort or performance; everything in the Kingdom starts small, like a redwood seed or the eight people who first gathered to plant the church; a seed is worthless unless it's planted and watered, meaning dreams require participation, not just waiting; you reap what you sow, so planting bitterness, gossip, or fear yields more of the same, while planting love, joy, and gratitude produces a harvest of the same; and finally, that there's a real delay — a "summer" of watering and tending — between planting and harvest that demands grit rather than giving up at the first sign of difficulty. He then names five practical seeds believers can sow: finances, words, prayer, service, and tears, each illustrated with personal stories and testimonies from the church's history. At the center of the message is the conviction that sowing and reaping is anchored in the nature and character of God — He is a good provider and a good Father, not a distant force to be managed through effort or earned through performance. Ryan pairs this with a theology of redemptive suffering: because Jesus's own suffering was not the end of His story, our tears and hardship are never wasted either, but are transformed into the seeds of a coming harvest.Ultimately, this sermon is an invitation to keep sowing — in prayer, in community, in generosity, in the words we speak — even when the ground feels hard and the harvest feels far off. Ryan calls the church to trade discouragement for grit, believing that God is faithful to bring a harvest to those who don't give up in seasons of small beginnings and slow growth.

This week I'm joined by Dan Tipney, a former airline pilot who co-founded Safe Landing, a community of aviation workers and enthusiasts, working together to figure out what it might look like to have a world where aviation flourishes, in harmony with nature. This episode isn't an episode in flight shaming anyone, and absolutely doesn't have the intention of making anyone feel bad about the choices they're making. We obviously talk about the impact of flying, because coming to terms with the cold hard facts around that is a key part of Dan's story. But this episode is more about the power of story-telling and conversations, about how two things can be true at the same time, and about how learning to recognise that and sit with the discomfort that it can bring, could help us all to have better climate conversations.USEFUL LINKS: Dan Tipney on Linked In Safe Landing- Website- Linked In- InstagramCharlie Cotton's post on Linked In about flight efficiencies vs flight numbersJon Richardon and The Futurenauts – The Future of Life After OilLarger UsClimate FreskEpisode 189 – Climate Fresk (and friends) with Ash GoddardCharlie GardnerAyana Elizbeth Johnson – Climate Venn Diagram Do come and join us in the Sustainable(ish) Clubhouse for September! And please do leave a rating and a review wherever you get your podcasts

Are you constantly overwhelmed by your to-do list? Obsessed with productivity hacks? Always feel like you're falling behind? Trevor and Eugene sit down with author and journalist Oliver Burkeman to rethink our relationship with time, success, and control. They unpack why perfectionism can make us miserable, the surprising value of “good procrastination,” and why choosing what to fail at might actually be a good thing. Along the way, they explore the psychology behind our social media facades, how modern conveniences have made us less patient, and whether the secret to getting more out of life might be accepting that we can't do everything. Our Daily Scripture Readings and Reflection: St. Paul assures us that God is faithful and will keep us firm to the end. On the feast of St. Monica, those words have special meaning for parents who worry about their children. Monica prayed faithfully for her son Augustine through years of uncertainty and struggle. Frank Pavone reflects on the confidence Christian parents can have in God's grace, even when their children seem to be traveling in the wrong direction. Never underestimate what persistent prayer and God's grace can accomplish.
Can our economy keep growing forever on a finite planet? In this third installment of Finding Crazy Town, we explore the idea of exponential economic growth, why economists and politicians have become so committed to it, and what happens when our economic models fail to account for the environmental systems that make the economy possible.Along the way, Jason, Rob, and Asher revisit the problems they see in conventional economics, Jason recounts the experience that sent him down the rabbit hole of Limits to Growth and ecological economics, and the trio asks whether growth and progress really mean the same thing. From Robert Wadlow to Ronald Reagan, Donella Meadows to Julian Simon, the IPCC to the three musketeers, we follow the clues—and discover that sometimes limits aren't the enemy of creativity. They're what make creativity possible. There's a version of fear most of us know well. Your chest gets tight, your mind starts racing, and your body braces for the worst before you've even had time to process what's happening. But what if fear under pressure isn't a flaw in us at all, just a reflex we've developed over time, and one we can actually learn to retrain? Jenna Schutt, a former cardiac RN who was later diagnosed with a rare incurable disease at age 30, joins host Swati to talk about what she calls the Joy Reflex, training faith, peace, and joy to become as automatic as fear, why healing rarely moves in a straight line, and how ordinary moments of pressure are training grounds for extraordinary ones. About the Guest: Jenna Schutt is a former cardiac registered nurse, author, and speaker who was diagnosed with a rare incurable disease at age 30 while raising two young children, undergoing more than ten rounds of chemotherapy and a stem cell transplant. She is the creator of The Joy Reflex, a framework for training faith, peace, and joy as automatic responses to pressure, and runs Faith with Jenna, a growing community for women navigating hard seasons. Key Takeaways: Fear isn't a personal failure, it's a normal human response, and like any trained response, it can be retrained. Your first fearful thought may be automatic, but what happens next, the spiral or the anchor, is something you can practice and change. The best time to train your response to pressure is in calm water, before the crisis hits, not in the middle of it. A joy reflex works the same way brushing your teeth does, repeated practice until faith, peace, and joy become automatic instead of effortful. Healing and habit change move in hills and valleys, not a straight line, and slipping back doesn't erase the progress you've already built. What do you do when life makes you want to give up? Pastor Jacob continues the An Invitation to Joy series with a message from Philippians 3, where the Apostle Paul—writing from a Roman prison while awaiting trial—chooses joy in the middle of the struggle. This message unpacks what it means to press on: releasing the past through a resilient spirit, seeing your circumstances differently through a change of perspective, and reaching for the resurrection power of Jesus already at work in you. What does it take to build a meaningful life when the path doesn't go according to plan?In this episode of the Better Than Best Academy, Red Wallace sits down with Bill Quateman for a wide-ranging conversation about fatherhood, discipline, reinvention, entrepreneurship, health, service, and becoming the man life is calling you to become.Bill shares lessons from his journey through the music industry, publishing, business, parenting, and regenerative health—including being signed during the Clive Davis era at Columbia Records, publishing his own book after facing rejection, and eventually building a career focused on helping others live healthier lives. We talk about why fathers sometimes need to be both a willow and an oak, why “no” can be an expression of love, the importance of teaching children to sit still in a world filled with distraction, and why the obstacles in your life may actually be developing the person you need to become.Bill also shares one of the principles that has shaped his life:“There are really no failures in life. There are just people that give up.”In this conversation, we cover:- Why discipline gives young men direction- Being a strong “rudder” for your children- Why the hardest thing to do may be nothing- Meditation and learning to sit in silence- Failure, resilience, and refusing to quit- Reinventing yourself when life changes direction- Why creativity and business require different mindsets- Serving something bigger than yourself- Finding the courage to do hard things- Thinking about longevity, health, and “peak span”- Why your goals must begin with knowing what you actually want- The importance of living from loveCHAPTERS:00:00 No Failures Mindset01:03 Welcome and Guest Intro01:43 Music Backgrounds Connect02:51 Young Bill and Beatles Spark06:19 Discipline and Focus Lessons07:46 Parenting Boundaries Today13:09 Love and Quiet Practice16:41 Clive Davis Breakthrough19:04 Service Over Showbiz22:48 From Music to Publishing24:56 Oprah Call to Health Pivot26:22 Writing With Purpose27:21 Books As Business28:41 Creative Meets CEO31:53 Embrace The Hard33:58 Ego And Flow34:59 Health Origin Story37:07 Peakspan And Metabolism40:16 First Steps At 3343:41 Connect And Testing45:00 Lightning Round Wisdom47:57 Final Quote And FarewellLearn more about Bill and Advanced BioCell: https://advancedbiocell.comIf you're a Christian husband, father, leader, or builder who wants to become better in the areas of life that matter most, subscribe to the Better Than Best Academy.Comment below: What is one difficult season of your life that ultimately made you stronger?

In this episode, Ken continues his series on polarization. The best way not to polarize, he says, is to grow in our self-differentiation. And self-differentation is a direction we are moving in, not a destination we attain. In Ronald Richardson's book "Polarization and the Healthier Church," Richardson states, "Differentiation is primarily about your actions, not your words." He lays out six goals we need to move toward as we grow in our self-differentation, and Ken unpacks each of these goals, inviting the group to discuss them. One is "Refuse to criticize the beliefs of others." We'll let that be a teaser for the rest! This episode was recorded on August 7th, 2026.

Send us Fan Mail✅Learn Trading In-Person from me 1-on-1: https://form.typeform.com/to/O1Yiz8LXThis is the honest reality of my trading journey. Most people see the profits but ignore the struggle. I began with the basics of personal finance before attempting to trade full-time. My path was far from smooth, marked by significant setbacks including an $11,000 loss during 2020 that nearly ended my progress. At my lowest point, I was living in an office just to stay afloat, which forced me to reevaluate my entire approach to risk and consistency.Don't miss our next big trading conference in Los Angeles on October 12, 2026 ft.
