Christian Gerlach, owner and label head for Lanthan Audio, takes the controls for the sixth podcast from Oktave Records.
Julian Adam came to Techno for the first time as a teenager in Munich, his hometown. Fascinated by music generally the DJ and producer, appearing as Gods Mind, started producing different styles of electronic music, but also started making hip hop beats and soundtracks, mostly inspired by Johann Johannsson, Hans Zimmer, Howard Shore and more. Although he mainly started producing deep house and techno he wanted to see more and more styles of Techno and generally electronic music. With his brother as model, he started DJing and played in numerous clubs in Germany and Munich, such as Harry Klein, the former Magdalena Berlin and Kesselhaus in Augsburg. In addition he started releasing his first EP in January 2018 that have been played and supported by various DJ's as ArchiveOne, Christian Gerlach, Kevin De Vries, Escape to Mars, Repressed Mind, Silent-One and many more. His second EP is also on the way and again with a Remix from a well known Label head. -- 014: Gods Mind from Munich, Germany SoundCloud: https://soundcloud.com/whoisgodsmind Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/whoisgodsmind -- Visit FACETS at: Facebook: www.facebook.com/facetsoftechno

atomar audio –100– Various Artists For our 100th edition, we have prepared a special 6 hour mix of mixes, consisting of a selection of several podcasts by artists from all around the world that have been brodcast on atomar audio over the past three and a half years. In this podcast we do not want to focus one specific artist but rather the podcast as a whole and therefore decided to go with this particular set for our anniversary edition. Unfortunately it is not possible to include all the great artists that took the time to record a mix for us since we tried to keep it at a reasonable length for our uploaders and also to keep it musically consistent. There are many great sets that had to be left out but we think that we have created a special set for everybody to enjoy and that was our primary objective. We would like to sincerely thank all the artists that were involved in the podcast series as well as everyone else who played a part in our project over the past years. Enjoy Podcast 100 The following sets have been used for our 100th podcast: –042– Felix Buczek –007– Pascal P –083– Cari Lekebusch –069– Gutkind –040– Christian Gerlach –098– Alfred Kopke –055– Christian Wild & Pascal P –062– Sven Sossong –076– Heron –087– Alexander Harre –039– Dani Sbert –053– Tobias Nedo & Pablo Stumm –050– Dotwav –091– Miran N –079– Anna Feodora –073– Christian Wild –085– T-Dok –022– Robert S (PT) –066– Sarf –046– Michel Lauriola –033– Pablo Stumm

Welcome to Lehmann Podcast #043 - Christian Gerlach! This week with Christian Gerlach, resident at Unter Tage Koblenz and part of the abstract family. His Sound is best described as a combination of deep elements and rough Techno, which is true for both his sets as well as his releases. Besides putting out originals on Nonlinear Systems and Modul, the 26 year old started his own imprint Lanthan.audio. Keep an eye out for this young fellow, there is more to come. What if genocide scholars have been approaching the field the wrong way? When I first opened Extremely Violent Societies in the Twentieth Century (Cambridge University Press, 2010), I was immediately struck by the immense depth of research and learning. Christian Gerlach chooses his case studies from among the lesser studied cases of genocide and immersed himself in the literature. Moreover, he surveys the history and theory of counterinsurgency warfare in roughly 20 countries over the space of 50 years. His knowledge of the field is encyclopedic, and one must admire his tenacity, not to mention the persuasiveness clearly necessary to persuade the publisher to include such an extensive set of notes. More important, however, than the breadth and depth of research are the conclusions Gerlach reaches. For Gerlach's book argues that people who study genocide need to approach the subject in a different way, one that is broader, is more grounded in primary research, and one that uses the categories of race and ethnicity much more carefully. Whether you agree with this contention or not, it's a book that makes you think hard about your own ideas–one of the highest compliments you can pay an author. I have no doubt that Gerlach's book will be one of the most talked about works in the field. I hope you find the interview just as stimulating.
