Davey Muise is a Musician and vocalist in his new project Hematite, and past projects Trove and Vanna. In this episode Davey and I sit down virtually to finally bring an internet friendship to life (sort of!) for a very very fun and in depth conversations about all things life, hardships, creativity, music, pursuit of happiness, and of course, all things Davey! We're both detailed talkers, so our conversation goes all over the place and we cover a TON of stuff as we uncover Davey's journey of literally being left for dead as a baby, being adopted, growing up and finding his passion for music, hitting the road and music business hard with Vanna, what led him to needing to move on from that project and move into Trove, battling burnout with music in general, realizing he wasn't taking care of himself well enough to pursue these goals, becoming a public speaker and traveling to tons of schools sharing his story, how that also led to a mental crash and burn, what it all taught him about self-fulfillment and keeping our "cup" full, & TONS more. This is one of my favorite conversations I've had on the show and it wasn't even in person! The world has been a pretty bleak place for this whole year. Between rampant disease, watching the country I live in destroy itself from corruption, and seeing people become emboldened by moral bankruptcy, it's enough to put anyone in a state of depression. In an effort to combat that, we decided that this week, we're going to share with each other and the audience 5 albums that we turn to in order to help remind us that there is still good in the world. Albums with wholesome messages of life, love, togetherness, growing up, peace, and unity. These are just a handful of albums that one of the co-hosts turns to whenever he is feeling down and needs a pick-me-up and we can't think of a better time than now to shower ourselves in the comfort of these records. Also on the show, new album announcement from the Boss himself, Bruce Springsteen; more allegations from musicians, this time from Davey Muise of Vanna; and Adam reviews albums from John Frusciante, Soundgarden, and S'efforcer. We thank you for choosing to spend some time with us this week! We hope you're staying safe, hanging in there the best you can, and we hope that you'll join us again for more episodes. #TheAtaris #DustinKensrue #JohnFrusciante #Juno #Live #OfMonstersAndMen #Paramore #Waterparks #WeCameAsRomans #500DaysOfSummer --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/theskinnywithmikeandadam/support

On this episode, I speak with Davey Muise, who most people would recognize as the lead singer of Vanna. However, he's got a new band, Trove, and they're definitely an act to follow! We speak about being a "man of many hats", which includes him writing with the band, traveling all over the country to speak at various schools about mental health, and a whole lot more! I learned a whole lot about him from this chat, and I hope your experience is just as enriching. On this Episode of INSIDE MUSIC, host James Shotwell calls Davey Muise of Vanna to discuss his life and career. Davey joined Vanna after the group had already established themselves as one of the leading post-hardcore groups in North America, but since the addition of Davey on vocals the band has seen their status continually rise year over year. The group is currently putting the finishing touches on their third full length recording with Davey, and in this episode he offers a little insight as to what fans can expect from the group in 2016 and beyond. Davey also talks about his work as an inspirational speaker, which James highly suggest everyone make time to see in person if possible.
