The Panthers were down early, they kept attacking Flyers backup goaltender Martin Jones despite being down 1-0 a third of the way through period one. The Panthers finally broke through later in the game in the 3rd period and in overtime to bring their home record to 11-0-0 to tie the NHL Record for most home wins without a loss with the 1963-64 Chicago Blackhawks. The Philadelphia Flyers had a bumpy adventure away from Philadelphia. They started off in Raleigh with a win over the Carolina Hurricanes, but their trip to Texas would not fare so well. Should Claude Giroux and Kevin Hayes step up and lead this team to proper victories on the ice and take pressure off the goalies? How much of a problem will Matthew Tkachuk and Johnny Gaudreau be tonight? Also tonight the Philadelphia Flyers honor Rick Tocchet and Paul Holmgren as they welcome them into the Orange and Black Hall of Fame! Join us as we take a look back at their legendary careers. Also on tap for tonight, a look around the league with an NHL on TNT preview. This week the Chicago Blackhawks take the ice against the Seattle Kraken. The Chicago Blackhawks are trying to regain the trust of fans after it was revealed last month that the team didn't respond appropriately to a player's allegations of sexual assault. Two hockey fans say this case represents a toxic culture that the sport must confront. Former Chicago Sun-Times reporter Evan Moore and sports reporter Jashvina Shah have been looking at toxic behavior in hockey for years because they love the sport and want it to change. Their new book “Game Misconduct: Hockey's Toxic Culture and How to Fix It” is out now. Moore and Shah tell host Jacoby Cochran what they think contributes to the toxicity. On this episode of The Cross-Check NHL Show, Mary Clarke and Andrew Berkshire do without a guest as a whole bunch of news across the league broke. First, the Anaheim Ducks placed general manager Bob Murray on leave due to an ongoing investigation into his professional conduct. Though the Ducks did the right thing, it is hard to praise them given how hypocritical the NHL has been with other important cases. Next, the mother of John Doe 2 in the Chicago Blackhawks sexual assault case stepped forward to speak about her son and call out Gary Bettman in a heartbreaking interview. It is past time that Bettman steps down from the NHL, but those set to replace him would only continue to perpetuate hockey culture as we know it. And finally, Carey Price revealed that substance use was the reason behind him checking into the NHL's player assistance program only one month ago after posting a courageous message on social media. Welcome again to the Bill Bradley Collective, where this week your hosts examine three organizations across three different sports all overtaken by scandal in recent weeks. We start with the Chicago Blackhawks, where an investigation into sexual assault allegations dating back to 2010 found that coaches and management chose not to address the matter until season's end so as not to be a “distraction.” ESPN published a bombshell exposé on Phoenix Suns' owner Robert Sarver, detailing a work environment enveloped by racist and sexist behavior perpetrated by Sarver. Finally, we weigh in on the Washington Football Team, and how a proven toxic workplace culture of sexual harassment, bullying and intimidation has here to this point yielded merely an insignificant fine and protection from accountability by Roger Goodell. We assess and compare how each league has or has not addressed these respective scandals and what to expect moving forward. But first we rant, as a Collective, on this week's first release of the College Football Playoff rankings. Your hosts return a unanimous decision opposing undefeated Cincinnati's exclusion from the top four slots, and cry foul on a committee made up of power-five kingmakers protecting their own in the face of competitive integrity.
-Chicago Blackhawks played a great game against the Nashville Predators. -Defense looked solid for the first time this year.
