Aaron Rossi who drummed for Ministry, Prong, Rob Zombie, John 5 and many others passed away in January 2025. In his rememberance we replay his appearance in The Dark Mark Show in 2014 with then Ministry guitarist Sin Quirin… Sin Quirin and Aaron Rossi of the band Ministry joined Mark and Josi to talk music and enjoy some peanut butter cups and juggling. Sin talked about recording the latest "final" Ministry album From Beer to Eternity, how hearing Ministry on cassette tape changed his approach to music, the pitfalls of playing guitar in front of a fence, referred to Mark's Ministry hockey jersey as a "onesie", reminisced about being in Society 1 with a few future Ministry members and talked about his new band Supermanic and teaching guitar at the Grammy museum. Aaron talked about exceeding Al Jourgensen's drum expectations at his first rehearsals as he played the parts that 2 drummers usually play, how John 5 practices guitar in the bathroom, confirmed there is no beef between Rob Zombie and Al Jourgenson, how Al reacted to getting a bottle of Marilyn Manson's absinthe as a gift, playing in his new Brazilian band Black Oil fronted by Tony Campos of Static X and explained how to attain that uniquely powerful Ministry drum sound.

J-Bunny sits down on Skype with Dave Kinkade, drummer and mastermind behind the band The Monarch, and former member of Malevolent Creation, Borknagar, and Soulfly, just to name a few. J-Bunny and Dave talk about Dave's career in music, including all the bands he played with, tried out for, and toured with up until his hiatus from music in 2012. Interview by Kris PetersWhen the enigmatic and universally loved frontman of LA industrial/heavy outfit Static X passed away in 2014 many thought that was the end for the band as well.Wayne Static WAS Static X - just by virtue of the name alone - and to try and find anyone to replicate his on stage intensity was thought to be futile. The band who had given the world the groundbreaking album Wisconsin Death Trip and the industrial alt-rock hybrid Evil Disco, shaking metal from its stagnant state and redefining what can be done with heavy music, was rudderless and without the emotional capability to continue. Wayne's passing - after long periods of unrest within the band - seemed to be the final debilitating factor in the future longevity of Static X but behind the scenes the three founding members of Static X, Tony Campos, Koichi Fukuda and Ken Jay were scouring the musical landscape for someone who could not only fill Waynes shoes musically, but would also be accepted by their fanatically loyal fanbase. In 2019 the trio recruited a still unidentified mask wearing enigma as vocalist who went by the name Xer0 and despite initial skepticism and often downright hostility from some members of the public, Static X have been reborn as both a live and recording unit and will arrive in Australia for three shows starting in Melbourne on May 19 to celebrate the 20th anniversary of Wisconsin Death Trip.Sensational live footage of their US tour has leaked on social media which justifies the current hype surrounding Static X, with the show as much a visual spectacle as it is aural, complete with a stunning new outfit for Xer0.Bass player Tony Campos joined HEAVY recently to discuss the tour and a host of other things relating to Static X, starting with how much of Wisconsin Death Trip they will be playing as part of the anniversary celebrations."We will be playing... I won't say most of it," he offered, "but we'll be playing a lot of cuts off that album."Campos has been quoted as saying that as well as playing songs from that album and Machine, Static X are also going to throw in "a couple of nice surprises" so, not being ones to like surprises, we asked him if he would share the knowledge."It depends on who the surprise is coming from," he laughed. "If you want a clue check out any of the interviews from the last couple of shows that we've been doing here in the States to get an idea."Static X will also be celebrating the life and legacy - as they do with every show - of Wayne Static, which although gives the fans an inside glimpse into the mechanisms of the band with Wayne out front, would also be emotionally draining on the surviving members night after night."Being together with my friends that were there with me in the beginning and having that comaraderie with those guys keeps the vibe positive," he measured. "It keeps it focussed on all the good things we achieved together."In the full interview Tony talks more about what to expect from the shows, how different it is having Xer0 out the front to when Wayne was there, losing Wayne and the decision to move on without him, initial negative feedback from fans and how it affected the band, the new stage show and what it entails, the early days of Static X and where they fit in, creating their sound and introducing it to a new audience, at what stage of the bands life did he personally feel they were onto something good, how they made their last two albums Project: Regeneration Volumes 1 and 2 after Wayne's passing, future new music with Xer0 at the helm and more.
Toomey and Akin start the show with some Metallica talk and dive into the story of Cliff Burton joining the band. The guys talk some Suicide Silence and Toomey's interview recap. Louder Than Life lineup is out they go over the festival and who they would like to see. Lars Ulrich says Lulu has aged well, Robb Flynn has some thoughts on the 100 Greatest Metal Songs list and Vio-lence played a show with zero original members. Ripper says he would fill in for Phil Anselmo if needed, Morgan Lander says it's time for new Kittie music and Tony Campos says it's up to the fans if they want new Static-X music. The guys gives some tv and music recommendations.
Tony Campos is one busy dude playing double bass duties on the “Rise of the Machine” tour for both Static X and Fear Factory! We chat with Tony about the tour, heading to Australia, Wayne Static's last vocal recordings, Xer0's new mask, their upcoming album Project Regeneration Volume 2, working with Jon Davis of Korn on the “Queen of the Damned” soundtrack, the future of Static X and more!

Three entire decades, and then some. The music of Fear Factory is considered by many around the world as a stepping-stone in heavy metal music. Whether it's about the writing getting easier or the pressure of so many great records making it harder – to guitarist Dino Cazares, this new chapter in his storied career is exactly what he was looking for. Being the last original member left in the current band's lineup, Dino talks about the highs and lows in his musical and personal journey that got him to this point in his life, and he could not be more grateful. Being that this is the 30th anniversary of the band, putting out the new and upcoming 10th album “Aggression Continuum” can serve as an example of where the band is headed from this point on. The heavy industrial trademark sound and the themes of a dystopian post-apocalyptic future have been successful ingredients in manifesting their music, and we get the chance to ask Dino about the creative in-depth storytelling within Fear Factory's identity. It's an identity that most people at this point recognize, and Fear Factory is damn good at refining their own craft over the years. 10 albums in 30 years is not an easy feat for anyone to do, and yet here they are. Dino, along with his bandmates Tony Campos (bassist) and Mike Heller (drums) are excited for their own future as they are counting down the days on a new vocalist joining the band, and once the new album is unleashed - things will only get more exciting for Fear Factory is this new chapter unfolds. Join us in this episode with Dino and be sure to buy and stream their new album “Aggression Continuum,” due out June 18 via Nuclear Blast Records.Stay connected with Fear Factory, visit: https://fearfactory.com/, https://www.facebook.com/fearfactory and https://www.instagram.com/fearfactory/Stay connected with IUF, visit: https://interviewunderfire.com/

https://static-x.org/ Static-X is an American heavy metal band from Los Angeles, California, formed in 1994. The line-up has fluctuated over the years, but was long-held constant with band founder, frontman, vocalist, and guitarist Wayne Static until 2014. The band was founded by Wayne Static and original drummer Ken Jay. They rose to fame with their 1999 debut album Wisconsin Death Trip where their heavy industrial metal sound attracted attention within the burgeoning nu metal movement of the late 1990s, with the album eventually going platinum in the United States. The band released five more albums over the course of the next decade: Machine in 2001, Shadow Zone in 2003, Start a War in 2005, Cannibal in 2007, and Cult of Static in 2009. The band entered a hiatus while Static worked on his solo album, Pighammer, in 2011. Static briefly reformed Static-X in 2012, using only members of his solo album's touring band, before officially breaking up in June 2013. On November 1, 2014, Wayne Static died at the age of 48. The rest of the original Static-X lineup – bassist Tony Campos, guitarist Koichi Fukuda and drummer Ken Jay – announced on October 23, 2018 that they were reforming the band in Static's honor, and would release Project Regeneration, their first studio album in eleven years, in 2020.

Often, I'm asked what it's like backstage when I get to interview the artists. Many times the artists arrive at the venue with a very limited amount of time to get the equipment set up, do soundchecks and take the stage before they have to load everything up and start the process all over again. This interview is a prime example of what it often sounds like backstage. At various parts of the interview, you can hear the roadies doing a soundcheck at believe me it's quite loud. But sometimes, that's the only place and time that the artists can squeeze in an interview. I've been a big fan of Tony's work in bands like Static-X, Ministry and more. You'll probably never meet a more genuine, down to earth entertainer than Tony Campos. Sorry for the background noise in this one but I hope you enjoy our interview with Tony!
The surviving members of Static-X announced at the beginning of 2019 the intend on honoring the legacy of their classic breakout album, Wisconsin Death Trip, by reuniting the original lineup and performing music from the disc. The tour originally was only the summer, but due to demand, they kept growing the dates to make this monster tour. (07/24/19) - 20th Anniversary of Wisconsin Death Trip, talkin' Wayne and "Xer0," tour, Project Regeneration and more with the bassist
On this episode of INSIDE MUSIC, host James Shotwell chats with legendary bassist and founding Static-X member Tony Campos about twenty years of 'Wisconsin Death Trip.' Tony tells James how and why the band came together for their latest tour, as well as their efforts to preserve and celebrate the legacy of fallen vocalist Wayne Static.
Tony Campos from Static X is my guest today, as they celebrate the 20th anniversary of their album Wisconsin Death Trip. That album put this band on the map and really kicked off their career. We discuss the tour, putting the band back together and rehearsing for the tour. The production is a pretty good size undertaking as Tony talks about that and the first show. Was it always going to be an un-named singer to sing for the band and how did they decide to do it the way they are? He tells me about the new album they're working on and how far along they are. He said his relationship with Wayne at the end of his life wasn't good. We talk about OzzFest, and more.... Al Beck is back to crash the pod with Rock News. He gives the info on the greatest band on Earth, Steel Panther! As Hell Yeah gets ready to drop their album, Al fills us in on what they're doing. Zakk Wylde talks about almost joining GNR - which Slash and Axl have both told me about and I play some clips - as well as Slayer news. Thank You so much for listening. Here is a sentence we never thought we'd be saying again: Static-X are touring Australia again! Believe it or not, but three of four OG members are back and heading down under for a tour like no other which will serve not only as the 20th Anniversary of their breakthrough album Wisconsin Death Trip but also a Memorial Tribute to their late frontman Wayne Static, who passed away back in 2014. The news has divided fans (some for, some against the idea) but bassist Tony Campos is on this weel's podcast chatting all about it to clear the air and answer any concerns fans may have had. Podcast host Browny, despite being a fan, takes both sides of the argument to get the truth from the band and find out if the right intentions are at play here or if this is another one of those cash grabs from fans, but from what you'll hear, every intricate detail about this tour has been well planned, thought out and even received the blessings of Wayne's family before the ball was even rolling and it seems the people that want this the most are Static-X's longterm fans who even pledged their own money for the band's new album, Project Regeneration, which wouldn't have seen the light of day if it wasn't for their contributions. Tony also delves into the current status of the album and how they're using old vocal recordings from studio sessions before Wayne passed to create a brand new album from the band, featuring original members Tony Campos, Ken Jay and Koichi Fukuda. There's also throwbacks from Megadeth, dope, Rammstein, Coal Chamber and Fear Factory, New Music from SKYND, Sleeping With Sirens and Bare Bones + heaps more... #WoSUATW #StaticX #TonyCampos #WayneStatic #WisconsinDeathTrip #ProjectRegeneration #Metal #IndustrialMetal #Megadeth #DaveMustaine #FearFactory #CoalChamber #Rammstein #Reliqa #dope #SKYND #SleepingWithSirens #BareBones #DrownThisCity #Podcast #MusicPodcast #Interview #WallOfSoundAU

This is what he stated, that he felt quite proud of his work on previous albums and had definitely built up to an excellent sound on the new record.
