WWE Payback 2023 full show review, and results with @JDfromNY on Off The Script. JDfromNY reviews WWE Payback 2023 for September 2nd, 2023. One of the weakest PLE cards for WWE this year, with Seth Rollins defending the WWE World Heavyweight Championship against Shinsuke Nakamura. LA Knight takes on the Miz in a highly anticipated match. Kevin Owens, and Sami Zayn defend the WWE Tag Team Championship against The Judgement (Finn Balor, and Damian Priest). Rhea Ripley defends the WWE Women's World Championship against Raquel Rodriguez, and Becky Lynch takes on Trish Stratus inside a Steel Cage.
This week Tim Kail returns to review WWE's event, Payback. Topics include: Becky Lynch's emotional vulnerability being her strength. Austin Theory and Rey Mysterio performing a quintessential WWE match (which isn't necessarily a bad thing). Tim's concern for the future of Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens. A beautiful vignette on Cody Rhodes. Size not mattering in Raquel vs Rhea. Seth Rollins and Shinsuke Nakamura telling a good story. And much more! Email Tim at email@example.com for inquiries and feedback. And follow on Social Media @WorkOfWrestling on Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, and YouTube. Thanks for listening!
September 2nd, 2023 is a day that will live in infamy. We kick off this AfterCast catching you up on CM Punk being terminated by AEW. Brad & Greg (SmackDaddies) and Matt (3D & BAM) recap the Payback PLE from Pittsburgh, PA. We had a fantastic cage match between Trish and Becky that Matt will be covering at the end of the year. John Cena as special guest host and special guest referee (with a special guest appearance of John Cena's bald spot) in the Miz/LA Knight Match. Greg forgot that we had an Austin Theory and Rey Mysterio Match. The Tag Title Match had us all gushing over the Judgement Day and Kevin and Sami, but did we like how it ended? Grayson Waller had an interaction with Cody and Raw's newest superstar. RR took on RR for the women's title in a match that didn't meet its mark. We finished our night with Shinsuke Nakamura and Seth Rollins culminating their build with a match we felt wasn't a main event and wondered if we'd have a MITB cash in. Check us out on Patreon.com/SNMERadio for this and all our shows!

WWE Payback 2023 overdelivered from Pittsburgh, exceeding expectations that it would be a secondary premium live event -- particularly due to John Cena's presence. Shortly after the show ended, host Adam Silverstein and co-host Chris Vannini convene to break down WWE Payback results with reactions and grades in Getting Over's signature instant analysis episode. "The Silver King" and "Vintage" dive into the elevation of Shinsuke Nakamura vs. Seth Rollins, Becky Lynch vs. Trish Stratus inside a steel cage being well worth the wait, Judgment Day prevailing in a banger over Kevin Owens & Sami Zayn, Cena hosting and guest refereeing LA Knight vs. The Miz, Cody Rhodes' big announcement involving Jey Uso and title defenses for Rhea Ripley and Rey Mysterio. Don Tony And Kevin Castle Show is back once again for WWE PAYBACK 2023 PREVIEW & PREDICTIONS, presented by BlueWire. DTKC run down the WWE Payback lineup, offer some bold match predictions, and discuss what could follow for several WWE Superstars leading into the Fall. WWE Payback comes less than a week after AEW All In, which has been overshadowed by an altercation between CM Punk and Jack Perry. DTKC briefly discuss the incident and the terrible handling by AEW. Here is a brief synopsis of the matches and topics discussed during this episode: Seth Rollins (c) vs Shinsuke Nakamura (World Heavyweight Championship): Why the sudden extreme disdain from Shinsuke Nakamura towards Seth Rollins? Expect them to tear the house down at Payback despite a feud that feels forced, even a bit confusing. Could Seth Rollins' back issues lead to the crowning of a new World Heavyweight Champion? Kevin Owens (c) and Sami Zayn (c) vs Finn Bálor and Damian Priest (Steel City Street Fight for the Undisputed WWE Tag Team Championship): Logic is thrown out the door. Why would Owens/Zayn who complain about Judgement Day always playing the numbers game, choose a stipulation that allows it to continue? For that reason alone, DTKC want to see new Tag Team Champions. Rhea Ripley (c) vs Raquel Rodriguez (Women's World Championship): This feud is just getting started and should continue into the fall. Expect Dirty Dom to get involved. Rey Mysterio (c) vs Austin Theory (United States Championship): Has WWE lost a little faith with Austin Theory? How will WWE lead Santos Escobar into an expected Title shot against Rey Mysterio? Could Escobar turn on Mysterio? LA Knight vs The Miz: Expect a good 'Knight' for LA. But also expect the feud to continue beyond Payback. Becky Lynch vs Trish Stratus (Steel Cage Match): DTKC break down what has been the biggest problem with the Becky/Trish feud. Trish entering her first ever cage match, and an anticipated return of Lita will salvage what has been a very disappointing feud Grayson Waller Effect with Special Guest: Cody Rhodes: Expect Cody to go into Dusty Mode for the Pittsburgh crowd and get physical with Waller. An impromptu match could even go down between the two. PLUS: DTKC discuss the temporary pause of The Bloodline; John Cena's return to WWE TV; LA Knight earning a leadership role with WWE; Is Shayna Baszler the next feud for Becky Lynch; Shayna Baszler/Zoey Stark as a future Tag Team and much more! If you enjoy this episode, please share the links for this episode with others! This episode will be a fun listen even after WWE Payback. JDfromNY reviews WWE Raw for Monday August 14th, 2023. After her long-awaited rematch with Trish Stratus didn't make the cut for SummerSlam, Becky Lynch finally gets her hands on Stratus tonight in a grudge match.Trish beat Becky at Night of Champions in May due to interference from Zoey Stark, and Becky has been waiting all summer long for revenge. Stark is banned from ringside, so it will theoretically be a fair fight, unless Trish has recruited a new ally. This could be the end of Trish's run in WWE this year, as it seemingly caps off her story. Becky gets to say “Thank you, Trish” by whopping her ass from pillar to post and forcing her to tap out to the disarm-her. Does the WWE Hall of Famer have one last trick up her sleeve to prevent the inevitable from happening? You'll have to tune into Raw tonight to find out what happens when Becky and Trish go one-on-one.World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins was taken out last week by a Kinshasa from Shinsuke Nakamura. We're going to hear from The King of Strong Style tonight, presumably to explain his actions. Will Nakamura automatically be granted a title match against The Visionary, or will Cody Rhodes argue that he deserves the first shot at Seth after beating Brock Lesnar at SummerSlam?Intercontinental Champion GUNTHER has a future date for a title defense against Chad Gable. Alpha Academy may very well be the final hurdle in the Ring General's way on his path towards becoming the longest reigning Intercontinental champion of all-time.
A whirlwind week in WWE ended with The Bloodline falling apart and Judgment Day coming together. Host Adam Silverstein and co-host Chris Vannini open by diving into WWE's creative strategy after one year of Paul "Triple H" Levesque holding the book [5:00]. The guys then discuss "American Nightmare: Becoming Cody Rhodes" [24:00], commentary changes, Asuka's rant and Bray Wyatt's status. "The Silver King" and "Vintage" move to The Main Event [47:20] where they focus on Jey Uso quitting WWE as fallout from Jimmy Uso turning SummerSlam, what's next for Roman Reigns, JD McDonagh siding with Finn Balor and the future of Kevin Owens & Sami Zayn. The guys next dive into The Good, The Bad and The Ugly [1:12:25], including Becky Lynch vs. Trish Stratus in a steel cage, Seth Rollins vs. Shinsuke Nakamura, Rey Mysterio (not Santos Escobar) winning the U.S. title from Austin Theory, Edge's anniversary match with Sheamus and much more. Plus, The Last Word [1:44:15] with a long-awaited question answered. Follow Getting Over on Twitter @GettingOverCast.

Becky Lynch and Trish Stratus had a bad match with a worse finish to keep their feud going even longer, while Shinsuke Nakamura didn't have much to offer beyond the obvious when it came to explaining why he attacked Seth Rollins last week, and The Judgment Day got its killer instinct back by the end of the night.***Follow Solomonster on Twitter for news and opinion:http://www.twitter.com/solomonsterSubscribe to the Solomonster Sounds Off on YouTube:https://www.youtube.com/user/TheSolomonster?sub_confirmation=1Become a Solomonster Sounds Off Channel Member:https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC9jcg7mk93fGNqWPMfl_Aig/joinThis show is part of the Spreaker Prime Network, if you are interested in advertising on this podcast, contact us at https://www.spreaker.com/show/5582990/advertisement
