Wir zünden zwei dicke Kerzen für Jean-Paul Belmondo (1933-2021) und Peter Baumgartner (1939-2021) an, die sich kürzlich beide für immer aus dem Diesseits verabschiedet haben. Vor allem mit Blick auf die Karriere von 'Bébel' war die Auswahl für das heutige Podcastprogramm groß, ist diese doch prall gefüllt mit Klassikern des Action- und Spannungskinos. Am Ende entschied sich der Münzwurf für George Lautners Der Profi (Le Professionnel, 1981) und wir könnten kaum glücklicher darüber sein. Die größere Überraschung des Abends ist vielleicht gar Kommando Leopard (1985), der nach Geheimcode: Wildgänse (1984) zweite Teil der Söldnertrilogie von Antonio Margheriti, bei dem natürlich wiederum Lewis Collins, Manfred Lehmann und Klaus Kinski alles geben dürfen. Und was Herr Baumgartner, die langjährige rechte Hand von Produzent und Schmuddelpapst Erwin C. Dietrich damit zu tun hatte, verraten wir in dieser enthusiastischen Podcastfolge ebenfalls.

From her beginnings growing up sleeping on the stove in a one room flat with her family in post-war Berlin, to her superstardom on German TV in the mid-’70s on sketch comedy phenomenon Klimbim, she had quite the rise to fame. At one point, 98% of Germans knew who she was! Granted, things didn’t exactly stay at that level, but you’ll be pleased to know (as a sort of postscript to the Softcore Spotlight on the show) that she’s on the mend and heading home after her recent heart attack.
