Jesus trial before the Sanhedrin and then before Pilate and Herod couldnt rightly be called a trial. It was a travesty of justice. But what is justice? And, what does it mean to do justice (act justly), as Micah 6:8 commands us to, in a world of injustice? The Bible answers that question by directing us to defend the oppressed, to care for the fatherless, the widow, and our own family members, to show mercy and compassion to everyone, especially to the foreigner and the poor, to feed the hungry, to clothe the naked, to be impartial, and to loose the chains of injustice.

The Humility of Being Found by Kevin B. Cain. Read by Kevin B. Cain. Chapter 24: Jesus' Trial.
Original Broadcast: August 2010 Monthly Theme: Eighth Commandment Now the chief priests and the whole Council were seeking false testimony against Jesus that they might put him to death, but they found none, though many false witnesses came forward. At last two came forward and said, "This man said, 'I am able to destroy the temple of God, and to rebuild it in three days.'" And the high priest stood up and said, "Have you no answer to make? What is it that these men testify against you?" But Jesus remained silent. (Matthew 26:59-61) Jesus' Trial Jesus refused to answer the false accusations. There was no reason to answer. His words would continue to be twisted. His words of comfort were turned into words of condemnation. Jesus prophesied His death and resurrection for the forgiveness of sins. However, the Sanhedrin wasn't able to understand. They didn't want to understand. But you, dear Christian, can understand. You have the Holy Spirit, who allows you to understand Jesus' words. Jesus proclaimed His Word so that you might know the forgiveness of sins that He gives to you. Such wonderful words need not be twisted. They should be taken as He spoke them. Amen.
A preposterous assertion from Republican congressman Barry Loudermilk that "Pontius Pilate afforded more rights to Jesus than the Democrats have afforded [Donald Trump]" during his current impeachment, prompts Pastor Andrew to talk about the trial of Jesus and place it in some historical context. Plus he tells us about the interesting arc Pilate traveled in some legendary stories from early Christians that puts him just shy of sainthood.

The ultimate reason behind the death of Jesus wasn't the fear and jealousy of the Jews or the cowardice of Pilate. The ultimate reason behind the death of Jesus was the love of the Father. Pastor Jeff continues in the Gospel of Luke by walking...
Pilate, the Jewish leaders and Jesus himself have different agendas for the trial.
Jesus heads intentionally into his arrest and trial to give his life for the people.
This exposition contrasts God’s established principles of Jewish jurisprudence revealed in the Pentateuch with the blatant and blasphemous miscarriage of justice in the mock trial that convicted Jesus. Special consideration is given to sinful man’s refusal to examine the evidence of who Jesus is and, as a result, believe in Him as Savior and Lord.
