In his message on Genesis 22, Pastor Andrew explores the profound story of Abraham's test of obedience, where God commands him to sacrifice his only son, Isaac. Andrew emphasizes that God tests the faith of His people to reveal their true commitment and trust in Him. He challenges listeners to consider the depths of their own allegiance to God and highlights that true obedience may come at a cost. The message underscores the idea that God will provide and bless those who choose to obey, drawing parallels between Abraham's willingness to sacrifice and God's own sacrifice of His Son, Jesus Christ, out of love for humanity.

In this passage, Peter calls believers to live holy lives, even under unjust authority. Submission is not weakness—it is strength rooted in trust that God rules over every human institution. We submit for the Lord's sake, representing Him to a watching world. By doing good, we silence critics and reflect the goodness of Christ, and as those set free from sin, we use our freedom not for rebellion or selfishness, but to serve God and love others. Peter closes with four commands that shape every believer's conduct: Honor everyone. Love the brotherhood. Fear God. Honor the emperor. Even when authority is flawed—like Nero's brutal rule—Christians reveal God's sovereignty through humble obedience and steadfast faith. True freedom is living as servants of God who bring glory to Him in every sphere of life. ________________________________________ Links to Sermon Notes & Answers: ➤Sermon Notes (Blank): https://www.sheridanhills.org/_files/ugd/30fec2_7c28f03426c74531bece0b429c5f1a39.pdf ➤Sermon Notes (Answers): https://www.sheridanhills.org/_files/ugd/30fec2_5ac7f9bebd7a4b4c9c0e8e03a4023ea6.pdf ________________________________________ Subscribe to this channel to catch weekly expositional sermons from the Bible. ________________________________________ Explore more sermons and information: https://www.sheridanhills.org/watch-new ________________________________________ Follow us: ➤Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/sheridanhills/ ➤Twitter: https://twitter.com/sheridanhills01 ➤Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/sheridanhills/

Every relationship in our lives—whether friendship, family, dating, or marriage—was never meant to exist without purpose. When we understand why God places certain people in our lives, we begin to approach those relationships with greater clarity, deeper grace, and healthier expectations. In his message “Relational Purpose,” Pastor Andrew unpacks how understanding the purpose behind our connections helps us navigate them with wisdom, align them with God's mission, and experience relationships that build rather than drain us.

The sermon explored the intersection of prayer and evangelism, emphasizing how our church's strong foundation in prayer can become our primary tool for sharing the Gospel. Pastor Andrew highlighted the need for our congregation to become more evangelistic while staying true to our spiritual DNA of prayer. He used the story of Paul and Barnabas in Lystra from Acts 14 to illustrate how God's power can be misunderstood in a pagan culture, but that shouldn't deter us from public expressions of faith.

In this episode, Pastor Andrew and Pastor Ian dive into 1 Peter 4:1-11, exploring what it means to live “in light of the end.” They discuss the importance of understanding the times, cultivating a mindset prepared for spiritual battle, and embracing a life marked by love, hospitality, and service. The conversation weaves together biblical wisdom, practical illustrations, and encouragement for believers navigating a culture at odds with Christian holiness.Show Notes & references:References:1 Peter 4:1-11 (main passage)Ephesians 5:15-17 (“understanding the times” and living wisely)Romans 6 (on dying to sin and living in Christ)Genesis 3 (God's covering for Adam and Eve)The Ten Commandments (Exodus 20)Sermon on the Mount (Matthew 5-7)James (on hospitality and welcoming others)Various references to Paul's letters and New Testament themesBooks Mentioned:“Remember Your Death” (book on death and Christian living)Francis Schaeffer, “Doing the Lord's Work in the Lord's Way”Eugene Peterson (reference to his imagery of the church as a “messy living room”)
In a world that values power and self-assertion, why does Jesus call his followers to be meek? Society often mistakes meekness for weakness, a quality to be avoided rather than cultivated. Pastor Andrew examines Matthew 5:5 to correct this misconception, arguing that biblical meekness is not an absence of strength, but rather “strength under God's control.” Drawing from the lives of Moses and Jesus, he demonstrates that true meekness is a powerful, God-surrendered posture that produces rest, restores relationships, and steadies leadership. Listeners are challenged to respond spiritually rather than react emotionally, placing their power under God's authority to find rest and inherit what He promises.Eastland is a Place to BelongEastland Baptist Church is located in Tulsa, Oklahoma. In the letter of 1 Peter, the Apostle Peter writes to believers living in a hostile, sinful world. His message still speaks to us today. Though rejected by men, God's people are chosen and precious to God, built as living stones into His spiritual house. In Christ, we are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people called out of darkness into His marvelous light. In 1 Peter 2: 3-9, Peter doesn't just remind us of our identity, but he urges us to live like it. As sojourners and exiles in this world, we must remember that our true citizenship is not in this world but is in heaven! Therefore, we must resist the passions of the flesh that wage war against our souls. Victory comes not through our strength but through the Spirit's power, producing fruit that glorifies God. Our lives should shine for Christ so brightly that even when accused or misunderstood, unbelievers may one day see Christ in us and glorify God. The call is clear: remember who you are, walk in holiness, crucify the flesh, and live by the Spirit until the day of His visitation. ________________________________________ Links to Sermon Notes & Answers: ➤Sermon Notes (Blank): https://www.sheridanhills.org/_files/ugd/30fec2_e9cbd50a92134e45a8589b1a80bccb0a.pdf ➤Sermon Notes (Answers): https://www.sheridanhills.org/_files/ugd/30fec2_1e270eb22064411d9fa05886da84cb25.pdf ________________________________________ In this video: Review of previous sermons in series Main Points Application ________________________________________ Subscribe to this channel to catch weekly expositional sermons from the Bible. ________________________________________ Explore more sermons and information: https://www.sheridanhills.org/watch-new ________________________________________ Follow us: ➤Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/sheridanhills/ ➤Twitter: https://twitter.com/sheridanhills01 ➤Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/sheridanhills/

Faith is where it all begins. From the moment God called Abraham to leave everything familiar and step into the unknown, the life of faith was born. Today, the Spirit of the Lord is calling us back to the foundation of our walk with Him — a life built on complete trust and confidence in God. In this message, Pastor Andrew Eldridge takes us through the story of Abraham — the Father of Faith — to remind us that: • Faith begins with a call. God speaks first, and we respond. • Faith requires leaving in order to receive. Sometimes you must step out of what's comfortable to walk into what's promised. • Faith looks forward. God rarely shows us the whole picture, but He always gives us His word. • Faith obeys. True faith moves — it acts on what God has said, even when you don't have all the answers. • Faith grows. Abraham's journey wasn't perfect, but he kept walking — and so must we. • Faith points us to Christ. The same faith that was counted to Abraham as righteousness is now fulfilled in Jesus.
When most people hear witchcraft, they think of witches, cauldrons, spells, and Halloween. But the Bible reveals something far deeper—and far more dangerous. Witchcraft isn't just about the occult; it is a spirit of manipulation, rebellion, and counterfeit spirituality that seeks to infiltrate even the church. In this in-depth study, Pastor Andrew unpacks what Scripture really teaches about witchcraft, sorcery, and control. Together, we'll look at:

In this sermon, Pastor Andrew Coleman continues our 1 Peter series. In 1 Peter 2, believers are reminded that though the world may reject Christ, He is the Cornerstone—chosen and precious in God's sight. Those who belong to Him are not ordinary; rather, Christians are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for His own possession. Peter calls believers to remember who they once were: lost in darkness, stumbling in unbelief. BUT now, through Christ, Christians are God's redeemed people, brought into His marvelous light. This identity isn't earned by works but is given by God's sovereign choice, His mercy, and the blood of Christ that purchases sinners. As living stones built on Christ the Cornerstone, Christians are called to live holy lives, proclaim His excellencies, and show the world what it means to belong to God. This truth gives believers confidence, security, and purpose, even in a world hostile to the Christian faith. ________________________________________ Links to Sermon Notes & Answers: ➤Sermon Notes (Blank): https://www.sheridanhills.org/_files/ugd/30fec2_93313fdc7c134c119d55fe3850e1d6ec.pdf ➤Sermon Notes (Answers): https://www.sheridanhills.org/_files/ugd/30fec2_3c619281182149b0a4587854e3a7e69b.pdf ________________________________________ Subscribe to this channel to catch weekly expositional sermons from the Bible. ________________________________________ Explore more sermons and information: https://www.sheridanhills.org/watch-new ________________________________________ Follow us: ➤Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/sheridanhills/ ➤Twitter: https://twitter.com/sheridanhills01 ➤Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/sheridanhills/

Who is God—really? Not just who He is to you, but who He declares Himself to be in His Word. In this message from 2 Peter 3:18, Pastor Andrew calls us to grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Too many believers stop at “Jesus is my Savior” and never go deeper. But Scripture urges us to study, to know His character, and to let Him reveal Himself—not to create our own definition.

1 Cor 1:10-17 What is it that makes a church healthy? Well certainly we would look at the beliefs of the church, and whether Jesus is central to their worship. But what about unity? This is the first topic Paul tackles in his letter to the Corinthians. Why is unity so important to the church, and how can we guard against it? We consider that this week as Pastor Andrew continues his study in 1 Corinthians.
Part 2 of the conversation around church planting vs multisite church: Are multi-site campuses and church plants really the same thing? Pastor Andrew and Pastor Jonathan Yarborough dive deep into the crucial differences between campus planting and church planting strategies. In this timely message, Pastor Andrew Coleman examines the sons of Issachar from 1 Chronicles 12:32—men who "had understanding of the times, to know what Israel ought to do." Drawing from their example of spiritual discernment and practical wisdom, this sermon explores how believers today can perceive the political, social, and spiritual currents of our moment and respond with godly insight. From understanding our cultural moment to seizing opportunities with biblical wisdom, Pastor Coleman connects the ancient example of Issachar's leaders to Paul's exhortation in Ephesians 5:15-16 to walk wisely and make the best use of our time. This Christ and Culture message challenges believers to move beyond mere observation to Kingdom-minded action, equipped with spiritual discernment and grounded in God's Word. The sermon is followed by a panel discussion about the cultural moment surrounding Charlie Kirk's assassination. Our message this week explored the story of blind Bartimaeus from Mark's Gospel, emphasizing the importance of bold prayer and faith in seeking God's healing. Pastor Andrew highlighted how we often hesitate in our prayers due to feelings of unworthiness or social conventions, but God invites us to approach Him with the boldness and desperation of a child. The sermon challenged us to overcome our middle-class respectability and insulation, urging us to be more open about our needs and to seek God's healing power in our lives.
Prayer is not one-dimensional—it is a gift from God with many purposes and expressions. In his message on prayer, Pastor Andrew unpacks the different types of prayer that shape a vibrant life of faith: the power of corporate prayer when the church unites, the steady rhythm of consistent prayer that keeps us anchored, the intentionality of scheduled prayer that creates sacred space in our days, the focus of specific prayer that invites God into the details, and the intimacy of relational prayer that deepens our walk with Him. Prayer is more than a practice—it's a posture that transforms us.
