Pastor Andrew Coleman continues our sermon series in 1 Peter by preaching on 1 Peter 1: 13-21. After reminding believers of the greatness of their salvation, Peter turns to how believers ought to live in response. The call is clear: prepare your minds for action, be spiritually alert, and set your hope completely on the grace that will be revealed when Jesus returns. The hope of the believer is a confident mindset rooted in God's promises. Because of Christ's precious blood, we've been ransomed from our old, empty way of life and called to live in holiness. God Himself is holy, and His children are to reflect His character in all they do. Peter reminds us: your salvation was planned before the foundation of the world, accomplished through Jesus' death and resurrection, and applied to you by the Holy Spirit. In light of that, live with reverent fear, unwavering hope, and wholehearted devotion to God. ________________________________________ Links to Sermon Notes & Answers: ➤Sermon Notes (Blank): https://www.sheridanhills.org/_files/ugd/30fec2_6ef8fcee0b3541ac88306ff3c2ca8f78.pdf ➤Sermon Notes (Answers): https://www.sheridanhills.org/_files/ugd/30fec2_1c343532b4534dadbcb43fc08e359beb.pdf ________________________________________ In this video: Review of previous sermons in series Main Points Application ________________________________________ Subscribe to this channel to catch weekly expositional sermons from the Bible. ________________________________________ Explore more sermons and information: https://www.sheridanhills.org/watch-new ________________________________________ Follow us: ➤Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/sheridanhills/ ➤Twitter: https://twitter.com/sheridanhills01 ➤Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/sheridanhills/

Have you ever injured a small part of your body—like a finger or a toe—only to realize how much it affects everything you do? In the same way, God designed His church as a living body, where every part matters and every member is connected. The Christian life was never meant to be lived alone; it flourishes when we bring all that we are—our strengths, weaknesses, wounds, and gifts—into the community of believers. The church is where healing begins, purpose is discovered, and faithfulness is cultivated. In his message, We Are A Body, Pastor Andrew teaches how Christ calls us to belong, to serve, and to grow together—because when the body moves in unity, the world sees a living picture of Jesus.
This podcast episode with Pastor Andrew delves into the profound concept of the anointing, defining it as the power of God accessible to every believer, every single day, every single minute, every single hour. Drawing a unique parallel to the coffee-making process, Pastor Andrew explains that the anointing is first in you, referencing 1 John 2:27, which states, "The anointing which you have received from him abides in you". He illustrates how believers often keep this power locked up, much like a coffee bean in preparation, but through seasons of growth and the often-painful grinding process, which can feel like a "dry season", the anointing comes on you, echoing Acts 1:8: "You shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you". The message culminates in the powerful truth that the anointing flows through you, demonstrated by Jesus in Mark 5:30 where power went out from Him, emphasizing that our hands are instruments for this flow. Through the journey of Elijah and Elisha, who served and waited for their double portion, listeners are encouraged that the anointing, empowered by the Holy Spirit for pure, true miracles, is not for personal gratification but to bless others, much like a prepared cup of coffee is for someone else's enjoyment. This episode calls listeners to recognize the anointing within, allow it to come upon them, and let it flow through them as ambassadors of the gospel, reminding us that "hope deferred makes the heart sick, but when it finally arrives, it is a sweetness to the soul" (Proverbs), and that the Holy Spirit leads our steps, ordering them of the Lord.
Pastor Andrew brings a message on the importance of living with anticipation of Jesus' return and urgency in light of it.
This week, Pastor Andrew reminds us of God‘s Grace and His Truth John 1:14 And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth.

In today's sermon, Pastor Andrew Coleman preaches on 1 Peter 1: 10-12. In this passage, Peter reminds weary believers just how glorious their salvation is. The prophets longed to see it, the apostles boldly preached it, the Holy Spirit brings it to life in believers' hearts, and even the angels marvel at it! Our salvation is no small thing—it's God's eternal plan fulfilled through Jesus' death and resurrection, proclaimed by faithful messengers, and applied by the Spirit's power. When trials and discouragement weigh us down, remembering the greatness of our salvation renews our hope, deepens our love for Christ, and fills us with joy. ________________________________________ Links to Sermon Notes & Answers: ➤Sermon Notes (Blank): https://www.sheridanhills.org/_files/ugd/30fec2_527d0ebfa9454d23b1563d6bf2991581.pdf ➤Sermon Notes (Answers): https://www.sheridanhills.org/_files/ugd/30fec2_06e0def81f61433693dcea22e61c18f8.pdf ________________________________________ In this video: Review of previous sermons in series Main Points Application ________________________________________ Subscribe to this channel to catch weekly expositional sermons from the Bible. ________________________________________ Explore more sermons and information: https://www.sheridanhills.org/watch-new ________________________________________ Follow us: ➤Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/sheridanhills/ ➤Twitter: https://twitter.com/sheridanhills01 ➤Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/sheridanhills/

Discipleship was never meant to be a solo journey. In The Life of a Disciple: The Church, we'll take a fresh look at what it means to truly follow Jesus—not just in belief, but in belonging. Jesus didn't just call individuals; He established His Church as a gathering of people committed to Him and one another. The Church, as a literal assembly, was birthed to shape us, challenge us, and send us. Through it, we are admonished in Christ, strengthened in our pursuit of Him, and mobilized to reflect His love to the world. In this sermon, Pastor Andrew defines the purpose of the Church: to exalt Christ, equip believers, and reach the lost. Whether you're new to faith or deep in your walk with God, this message will help you see how being a disciple means being deeply connected to the Church Jesus built.
In this message, Pastor Andrew unpacks Romans 3:21-26 to show how the gospel frees us from the crushing weight of performance. We are all broken and fall short of God's glory, yet Jesus offers a righteousness we could never earn, he gives it as a gift of grace. Through the cross, we are invited to trust God as a loving Father and receive a new identity as his sons and daughters. This sermon challenges both skeptics and believers to stop striving, embrace grace, and discover the life-changing power of faith in Jesus. Faith and love are not just our response but God's gifts to us through Christ. Tune into Pastor Andrew's message as he concludes the "316 series," exploring the most important gift God has given us: the name of Jesus Christ. This episode unpacks the power, access, and authority held within this single name, demonstrating its significance in every realm. Drawing from Acts chapter 3, Pastor Andrew highlights the first miracle performed post-ascension, where Peter and John heal a lame man in the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth. Discover how this name grants believers ultimate access to the Father—acting as a "master key" that simplifies reaching God, unlike various complicated methods. Learn that the name of Jesus provides all authority, prevailing over heaven, earth, and under the earth, impacting jobs, families, friendships, and even terminal illnesses, as God has "given him the name which is above every name" (Philippians 2:9-11). Pastor Andrew challenges listeners to utilize this gift, reminding them that "whatever you ask the Father in my name he may give you" (John 15:16). He illustrates how miracles, healing, and deliverance flow through the use of His name (Mark 9:39, Mark 16:17-18), and how salvation offers a reconnection to the Father—a finished work received by believing and confessing Jesus Christ as Lord. This powerful message emphasizes that your identity in Christ, combined with the master key of Jesus' name, provides everything you need to navigate life effectively.
Jesus told us to “follow Me” Listen as Pastor Andrew teaches how we can follow Him. 1 Timothy 1:18-19 18 This charge I commit to you, son Timothy, according to the prophecies previously made concerning you, that by them you may wage the good warfare, 19 having faith and a good conscience, which some having rejected, concerning the faith have suffered shipwreck,

In this message, Pastor Andrew Coleman preaches from 1 Peter 1: 6–7, and we take a closer look at how God uses trials to grow our faith and to bring Him glory. Peter is writing to Christians who were suffering for their faith, reminding them (and us) that even when life is hard, God hasn't forgotten us—He's actually working through the pain for our good. God's Word doesn't shy away from hard topics. It tells us the truth about suffering: it's real, it hurts, and it's often necessary. But it also tells us why—because God uses trials to test and strengthen our faith, like gold refined in fire. And when our faith is proven real, it results in something amazing: glory to God and deep joy for us. In 1 Peter 1: 6-7 we find several key takeaways--Trials don't last forever—but they do have a purpose. God uses hard things to make our faith stronger, deeper, and more focused on Him. There is no kind of trial that God's grace does not cover. You are not alone—Jesus Himself suffered, and He shows us how to trust God in the middle of it. When your faith is tested and you keep trusting God, He gets the glory, and you get the joy! Whether you're going through something painful right now or preparing for what's ahead, this passage can bring you great hope! God is not wasting your trials—He's using them to shape your heart, anchor your hope, and draw you closer to Him. ________________________________________ Links to Sermon Notes & Answers: ➤Sermon Notes (Blank): https://www.sheridanhills.org/_files/ugd/30fec2_ab44ceeb45eb479f98a27abe545235e6.pdf ➤Sermon Notes (Answers): https://www.sheridanhills.org/_files/ugd/30fec2_e4981e4d3ae14aa38b4257b284b5a3ed.pdf ________________________________________ Subscribe to this channel to catch weekly expositional sermons from the Bible. ________________________________________ Explore more sermons and information: https://www.sheridanhills.org/watch-new ________________________________________ Follow us: ➤Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/sheridanhills/ ➤Twitter: https://twitter.com/sheridanhills01 ➤Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/sheridanhills/
In a world where we meticulously protect our phones with cases and screen protectors, do we show the same diligence in guarding our hearts? Continuing in Proverbs 4, Pastor Andrew focuses on one of the most vital commands in scripture: to guard your heart above all else. Using powerful analogies of an unlatched gate and a water filter, he illustrates how the heart is the source from which our entire life flows. This message explores the practical ways we can tune our ears to God's voice, treasure His Word as a filter for life's impurities, and actively protect ourselves from the influences that seek to contaminate our souls. It's a stirring challenge to "check the gate" of your heart, because what you allow in will ultimately determine the direction of your life.Eastland is a Place to BelongEastland Baptist Church is located in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
