Preacher: Pastor Andrew Leong Date: 28 September 2025 (8.30am)
In this sermon, Pastor Andrew Coleman continues our 1 Peter series. In 1 Peter 2, believers are reminded that though the world may reject Christ, He is the Cornerstone—chosen and precious in God's sight. Those who belong to Him are not ordinary; rather, Christians are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for His own possession. Peter calls believers to remember who they once were: lost in darkness, stumbling in unbelief. BUT now, through Christ, Christians are God's redeemed people, brought into His marvelous light. This identity isn't earned by works but is given by God's sovereign choice, His mercy, and the blood of Christ that purchases sinners. As living stones built on Christ the Cornerstone, Christians are called to live holy lives, proclaim His excellencies, and show the world what it means to belong to God. This truth gives believers confidence, security, and purpose, even in a world hostile to the Christian faith. ________________________________________ Links to Sermon Notes & Answers: ➤Sermon Notes (Blank): https://www.sheridanhills.org/_files/ugd/30fec2_93313fdc7c134c119d55fe3850e1d6ec.pdf ➤Sermon Notes (Answers): https://www.sheridanhills.org/_files/ugd/30fec2_3c619281182149b0a4587854e3a7e69b.pdf ________________________________________ Subscribe to this channel to catch weekly expositional sermons from the Bible. ________________________________________ Explore more sermons and information: https://www.sheridanhills.org/watch-new ________________________________________ Follow us: ➤Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/sheridanhills/ ➤Twitter: https://twitter.com/sheridanhills01 ➤Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/sheridanhills/

Join us this week for Vision Sunday!! In today's sermon, Pastor Andrew reviews our churches core values and shares a new core value of our house. He also shares the new vision we are moving forward with as a church.Hosted by Ausha. See ausha.co/privacy-policy for more information.
Who is God—really? Not just who He is to you, but who He declares Himself to be in His Word. In this message from 2 Peter 3:18, Pastor Andrew calls us to grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Too many believers stop at “Jesus is my Savior” and never go deeper. But Scripture urges us to study, to know His character, and to let Him reveal Himself—not to create our own definition.
Bible reading. Galatians 4: 12- 31 The Galatians are reminded of the difference between the Law and Grace by likening them to the children of Abraham. One was born by a slave, the other through the promise of God, a free woman. The child of the slave woman will never share in the inheritance. They can be saved through grace, therefore, do not let themselves be brought back under the law which can never save them.

1 Cor 1:10-17 What is it that makes a church healthy? Well certainly we would look at the beliefs of the church, and whether Jesus is central to their worship. But what about unity? This is the first topic Paul tackles in his letter to the Corinthians. Why is unity so important to the church, and how can we guard against it? We consider that this week as Pastor Andrew continues his study in 1 Corinthians.
Part 2 of the conversation around church planting vs multisite church: Are multi-site campuses and church plants really the same thing? Pastor Andrew and Pastor Jonathan Yarborough dive deep into the crucial differences between campus planting and church planting strategies. Using the starfish vs spider analogy, they explain the critical differences with a "both, and" mindset, not an "either, or"; and the "magnet effect" that keeps churches from multiplying.Conference: https://breakinggrowthbarriers.com/conferenceWebsite: https://breakinggrowthbarriers.comFacebook Group: https://www.facebook.com/groups/breakinggrowthbarriersFacebook: https://www.facebook.com/breakinggrowthbarriersInstagram: https://www.instagram.com/breakinggrowthbarriers
In this timely message, Pastor Andrew Coleman examines the sons of Issachar from 1 Chronicles 12:32—men who "had understanding of the times, to know what Israel ought to do." Drawing from their example of spiritual discernment and practical wisdom, this sermon explores how believers today can perceive the political, social, and spiritual currents of our moment and respond with godly insight. From understanding our cultural moment to seizing opportunities with biblical wisdom, Pastor Coleman connects the ancient example of Issachar's leaders to Paul's exhortation in Ephesians 5:15-16 to walk wisely and make the best use of our time. This Christ and Culture message challenges believers to move beyond mere observation to Kingdom-minded action, equipped with spiritual discernment and grounded in God's Word. The sermon is followed by a panel discussion about the cultural moment surrounding Charlie Kirk's assassination. Our message this week explored the story of blind Bartimaeus from Mark's Gospel, emphasizing the importance of bold prayer and faith in seeking God's healing. Pastor Andrew highlighted how we often hesitate in our prayers due to feelings of unworthiness or social conventions, but God invites us to approach Him with the boldness and desperation of a child. The sermon challenged us to overcome our middle-class respectability and insulation, urging us to be more open about our needs and to seek God's healing power in our lives.

1 Cor 1:4-9 Last week we began our study of 1 Cor and we started to discuss some of the sin this church was struggling with. We said that the Lordship of Jesus was really the key to addressing sin in that church, and in our lives as well. This week we consider God's faithfulness. What does God's faithfulness have to do with sin you ask? Pastor Andrew answers that and more as we continue our study in 1 Cor.

Prayer is not one-dimensional—it is a gift from God with many purposes and expressions. In his message on prayer, Pastor Andrew unpacks the different types of prayer that shape a vibrant life of faith: the power of corporate prayer when the church unites, the steady rhythm of consistent prayer that keeps us anchored, the intentionality of scheduled prayer that creates sacred space in our days, the focus of specific prayer that invites God into the details, and the intimacy of relational prayer that deepens our walk with Him. Prayer is more than a practice—it's a posture that transforms us.
Fellow Believers Pastor Jeff Weiss, Luke Tibor and Trent Loos welcome Pastor Andrew Southwick and obvisous the unbelievebale murder of Charlie Kirk is the root of this conversation.
In this Sunday's message, Pastor Andrew preaches from Song of Solomon 2:8–13 on the call of the Bridegroom to His bride: “Rise up, My love, My fair one, and come away.” The Song of Solomon may seem like just a love story between a man and a woman, but Paul reminds us: “first the natural, then the spiritual” (1 Corinthians 15:46). Spiritually, this passage paints a powerful picture of Christ and His church. Just as the Bridegroom calls His bride, Jesus is calling His people today into intimacy with Him. In this message, Pastor Andrew challenges us with three calls: 1️⃣ Come away from the world – We cannot cling to the world and still pursue the presence of Christ. 2️⃣ Come away from religion – God is after relationship, not ritual. 3️⃣ Come away to the secret place – Beyond separation, Christ invites us into deep intimacy with Him. The season is changing. Winter is past. Flowers are appearing. The voice of the Beloved is calling: “Rise up, My love, and come away.”
Pastor Andrew continues our series in 2 Timothy by preaching on chapter 3:1-9.Questions to consider:What do I find most difficult about the Christian life? What are signs of a false teacher? What are practical ways in which I can avoid false teachers and teaching?

Shady Grove Church – Study in Romans The book of Romans is one of the richest, most powerful, and most theologically profound letters in all of Scripture. Written by the Apostle Paul around A.D. 56, Romans provides a clear and orderly presentation of the gospel message—showing that both Jews and Gentiles alike are in need of salvation, and that justification comes by faith alone in Jesus Christ. In this video, Pastor Andrew walks through Romans chapter 2 and the beginning of chapter 3, where Paul addresses both Jews and Gentiles, showing that all are accountable before God. Having the Law is not enough—what matters is true righteousness, which comes only through faith in Christ. Together, we'll explore: God's impartial judgment of Jews and Gentiles alike (Romans 2:1–29) Why outward religion or heritage cannot save us How all humanity is guilty before God (Romans 3:1–12) The good news that justification is by faith, not by works We'll also draw personal application from Paul's message, including: ✅ Trusting Christ alone for salvation ✅ Rejecting self-righteousness ✅ Understanding God's righteous judgment ✅ Rejoicing in the gospel that saves both Jew and Gentile Romans is more than theology—it's the gospel applied to everyday life. Join us as we dive deep into this life-changing book and discover the righteousness of God revealed through faith in Christ.
1 Cor 1:1-13 This week Pastor Andrew begins a new series in 1 Corinthians. Perhaps you've been tempted to quickly skim over the first few verses of a NT letter because it's “just a greeting.” However, the key to the rest of Paul's letter is found in these first few verses. What could be so important in a greeting?

In this sermon, Pastor Andrew Coleman preaches on 1 Peter 2:3–9. In a world that often rejects Christ, God calls His people chosen, holy, and precious in His sight. Jesus is the cornerstone—the sure foundation of our faith—and we, as living stones, are being built into His spiritual house. Through Him, we become a royal priesthood, offering our lives as spiritual sacrifices and proclaiming the One who called us out of darkness into His marvelous light. This passage reminds us of our identity in Christ and our purpose—to stand firm in Him, live set apart for Him, and glorify God with our lives, even when the world misunderstands or opposes us. ________________________________________ Links to Sermon Notes & Answers: ➤Sermon Notes (Blank): https://www.sheridanhills.org/_files/ugd/30fec2_bf3e538378ee48d8bba3acfa869bb791.pdf ➤Sermon Notes (Answers): https://www.sheridanhills.org/_files/ugd/30fec2_3f2500243cbd45a08bf25e8bd28c11a3.pdf ________________________________________ Subscribe to this channel to catch weekly expositional sermons from the Bible. ________________________________________ Explore more sermons and information: https://www.sheridanhills.org/watch-new ________________________________________ Follow us: ➤Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/sheridanhills/ ➤Twitter: https://twitter.com/sheridanhills01 ➤Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/sheridanhills/
In this insightful message, Pastor Andrew launches into "Why I Follow Jesus," a two-part series exploring the profound declaration of John 14:6: "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me". Pastor Andrew explains that Jesus is the Way, debunking the idea of multiple paths to God by offering a revolutionary relationship over rigid religion, serving as the "ultimate GPS" for navigating life's complex decisions. He is also the Truth, providing a singular, unchanging anchor in a world filled with subjective realities, AI-generated content, and competing claims to truth, guiding believers into "full and complete truth" through the Holy Spirit (John 16:13). Finally, Jesus is the Life, offering deep inner peace and contentment beyond superficial definitions of success, wealth, or status, which often lead to a lost soul (Mark 8:36). This powerful sermon challenges listeners to prioritize their relationship with Jesus, reminding them that without Him, they are lost, deceived, and empty, but with Him, they have victory and an unshakable anchor.
Our message explored the power of prayer, emphasizing its fundamental role in building a deeper relationship with God. The church isn't just a place we attend; it's who we are, and through us, God is writing a story of redemption for the world. At Grace City, the church is more than a gathering—it's a living movement of God's people. Pastor Andrew's message on Sunday reminds us that our doors are always open for those who are unconvinced to encounter Jesus in a real and personal way. His hope for Grace City is to inspire believers to embrace their true calling as missionaries in everyday life, carrying the hope of Christ wherever they go. And it will challenge every one of us to see our lives not as our own, but as worship unto the God who created us.
This Sunday we had a powerful time of worship and a short message by Pastor Andrew on crazy faith. We had to navigate a water issue on campus so we had a shortened service. We are so grateful for this church family!
