Instant Transformation through Breath with Jimmy Fisher

I experienced Jimmy's work myself and can attest to the near instant transformation of his breathwork journeys. They are hard work but within just one session I was able to release mountains of grief and reconnect back to peace within myself. In this episode Jimmy shares his remarkable story and the breathwork that ended up not only saving his life but also setting him on this passionate and transformational service path. Jimmy Fisher has lived a life of amazing experiences, whimsical adventures and great relationships, but also lived a life of extreme depression, hopelessness and addiction. He became suicidal and on numerous occasions attempted to take his own life. In 2021 just before Christmas he almost succeeded. Fortunately, he was found outside and resuscitated and placed on life support. He pulled through and spent close to 6 months in the hospital. Physically it cost him dearly: he had half of each foot amputated due to stage 4 frostbite. Mentally he became sicker and even attempted suicide while in the hospital. Emotionally and spiritually he felt completely vacant. He was hopeless and at his wits end. He entered a men's residential recovery center (Freedoms Door) in May of 2022 but was still determined to end his life. He spent the first few weeks hobbling around with big boots on his feet or being confined to bed or a wheelchair. In time he connected to and became inspired by the community. He worked with a counsellor and was able to start releasing some grief, guilt and shame yet still had deep seated feeling of loneliness that had been his permanent fixture since childhood. At his counsellor's encouragement he pursued his passion for breathwork, something he had already been practicing for a couple years. He found it offered temporary relief and began researching more. Whether by chance, by divine intervention or by destiny, he came across these transformational journeys. After doing his first one, he was rocked to the core. It was instant: the hopelessness and the loneliness almost disappeared. His racing mind was quiet and his emotional triggers softened. Believing the whole world needed to know about this profound work and that he wanted to be the one to get it out there. If it could have this effect on him, then imagine the change it could make in so many others' lives. It was the secret sauce. He has been studying Brian Kelly's Breath Master course and has been loving the journey ever since. Jimmy's words: "I no longer feel like I'm in a pit of despair. I no longer feel the obsessive mind of addiction. I'm excited to get out of bed each morning and participate in this world. It's nothing short of a miracle. I believe that breathwork (not just the journeys but daily practice) has the potential to transform your life, not in a year, not in months but immediately." We visit the last church to be built in Scotland before the Reformation to discover some of its later history. In 1659, the Covenanter Alexander Peden was here and about to begin his ministry when some dramatic events threatened to put a stop to it. It was said that his anguished prayers could be heard as he paced up and down by the side of the river on stormy winter nights. Jimmy Fisher explains what happened and the significance of Alexander Peden in this episode.

James Harkness from Dumfriesshire was the special object of loathing for the dragoons. They called him Harkness with the "long gun" and were only too pleased to capture him and treat him with brutal contempt. But strangely, that experience was going to turn out for good to the captain of the persecuting dragoons. Jimmy Fisher tells us more about an unusual incident with lasting consequences which took place in the town of Biggar.

We find out about the Covenanter connections with the pretty little village of Skirling. While there is not much information about James Ramage and Alexander Smith, we know much more about Peter Gillies. Driven out of his native district he narrowly escaped from soldiers sent to arrest him. But the next time the curate reported him the soldiers seized him and before he was carried away cruelly interrogated him. Follow his tragic story as told by Jimmy Fisher. Peter's wife was involved in this incident and she received a letter from her husband while he was a prisoner. It is full of affection and faith committing her and their five children (one newly born) to God's care.

The Devil’s Beef Tub.  What a name!  It comes from its use as a place for keeping stolen cattle after border raids together with the tub shape of the valley. There is a cairn of stones on the slope of the Beef Tub which marks the spot where a man called John Hunter was killed.  In 1685 at the height of the Killing Times, attending a Presbyterian Field Meeting could result in you being killed as an enemy of the State.  Matthew Vogan and Jimmy Fisher tell us what happened here to Hunter that would ultimately lead to the following words being inscribed on his gravestone. 'For owning of Christs cause I then did die. My blood for veangeance on His en’mies did cry.’ To dig deeper, visit ScotlandsForgottenHistory.com

The Regiment was made up of followers of the Covenanter, Richard Cameron.  Jimmy recalls the role that 900 Cameronians played just a few months later on on August 21st, 1689 at the Battle of Dunkeld, defending the Perthshire town against 4000 - 5000 Jacobites (about a month after the Battle of Killiecrankie).  The defeat of the Jacobites at Dunkeld put an end to the first Jacobite Rising.
