Tread Merrily 2025 begins with the annual tradition -- a Festive episode of Doctor Who. This one is called "The Time of The Doctor." When a signal broadcasts across all of time and space, The Doctor soon finds himself in orbit around a mysterious planet. But he is not alone with Daleks, Sontarans, Cyberman, and more also investigating the signal. Meanwhile, it's Christmas dinner at Clara's and she needs him to be her boyfriend. Are these two threads connected? Is the planet really Gallifrey? It's almost time for the clock to strike 12 and The Doctor is out of regenerations. Is this the final end? Justin determines Steven Moffat's third worst trait as a writer. The discussion centers on Moffat using his greatest hits throughout this story, leading to Tread Perilously's own greatest hits -- including Erik's belief about the real end of A Song of Ice and Fire, Twilight hot takes, and a determination about who has seen the light of the Two Trees. Erik tries to figure out why Paul McGann was seen recently shooting something in his Eighth Doctor costume. Justin stumbles on the secret sauce of Stranger Things. The true name of The Doctor is revealed. The Lord Humongous makes a trip to the market and Justin determines what the Sontarans really resemble.

Episode 282 of The Business Development Podcast, “What AI Can't Replace in Marketing with Jamie Moffat,” dives deep into the evolution of marketing from its radio roots to today's AI-driven landscape. Jamie Moffat, a 30-year advertising veteran and digital marketing consultant with LocalIQ, shares his journey from selling vacuum cleaners and radio ads in the 90s to leading data-informed, AI-powered campaigns. He and Kelly unpack how modern technology has transformed how we reach customers—yet reveal that the fundamentals of trust, listening, and human connection remain unchanged.Together, they explore what truly drives marketing success in 2025: speed of response, meaningful follow-up, and genuine relationships. From understanding the customer journey to using AI tools for smarter lead generation, Jamie shows how technology can amplify—not replace—the human touch. This episode is a reminder that while automation and analytics continue to evolve, it's still people, not programs, who close deals and build lasting brands.Key Takeaways: 1. AI can optimize your marketing, but it can't replace the trust built through human connection.2. Listening is still the most powerful skill in sales—it never goes out of style.3. Speed matters. The faster you follow up, the higher your close rate.4. Marketing is only as strong as the message. Content is still king.5. Technology evolves, but relationships remain the foundation of every great business.6. The customer journey starts with a trigger event—know it, and meet them there.7. Missed calls mean missed opportunities. Always answer or call back fast.8. Data helps guide your strategy, but emotion drives the decision to buy.9. Authentic, human communication outperforms AI-generated content every time.10. The future of marketing isn't replacing people—it's empowering them to connect better. If you listen to The Business Development Podcast, you belong in The Catalyst Club.

We kick off the Black Guardian trilogy with a new companion joining the TARDIS, the return of the Brigadier, and the return of the Black Guardian (on whose head they've inexplicably put a dead bird!), as we discuss Mawdryn Undead (or, to translate it from the Welsh “Dead Man Undead”!) Join us as we make immediate judgements on Turlough, discuss how the story plays with time in a way that pre-dates Moffat by 20-odd years, question the Black Guardian's sartorial choices, ponder why the Brigadier remembers Harry Sullivan but not Liz, Jo, or Sarah Jane, while Julie asks “why is the moustache gone?”. And don't miss Anthony teaching the crew about corporal punishment in British schools! October is World Menopause Month — and it's time to challenge one of the most persistent myths in our culture: that women's careers, beauty, and relevance come with an expiration date. Graydon Moffat, founder of Graydon Skincare, has made it her mission to defy that idea. She's spoken openly about ageism in entrepreneurship and about how women navigating perimenopause and beyond deserve to be seen, supported, and celebrated — not sidelined. Before becoming a skincare founder, Graydon had already reinvented herself more than once — from plant-based chef to yoga teacher — and it was through these experiences that she earned the nickname “The Skin Chef.” Her approach to beauty was never about anti-aging, but about nourishment and vitality. That same philosophy drives the formulas at Graydon Skincare, where super-powered superfoods meet proven clinical actives to create products that are as effective as they are ethical.Today, Graydon leads a female-founded, values-driven company grounded in ingredient transparency, sustainable packaging, and accessibility — proving that looking good and feeling good can go hand in hand. In this conversation, she shares her insights on aging, entrepreneurship, and building a conscious beauty brand that stands the test of time. This episode originally aired during Season 6.This season of our podcast is brought to you by TD Canada Women in Enterprise. The Herle Burly was created by Air Quotes Media with support from our presenting sponsor TELUS, as well as CN Rail, PSAC, and the Ontario Real Estate Association.Greetings, you curiouser and curiouser Herle Burly-ites! A topic today we've been exploring from a few different angles these last few months: can Canada build (baby build) housing anymore? We convened a panel on it back in the early summer to talk policy and what's happening in the real world – Meredith, Moffat and Butler. We had the Conservative housing critic on the pod, Scott Aitchison, who gave us his take on what needs to be done.Today, we get the government's view of things with the Honourable Gregor Robertson, Canada's Minister of Housing and Infrastructure.Mr. Robertson has a long and impressive CV, so please pardon my drastic précis here: He served as the Mayor of Vancouver for a decade, 2008 to 2018, where his focus was on transit and cycling infrastructure ... introducing modular housing to support unhoused residents ... leading on co-ops and supportive housing ... and starting the country's first successful empty homes tax. Prior to that, he was a Member of the B.C. Legislature for 3 years, 2005-2008. As well as the Co-Founder and CEO of “Happy Planet” Organic Foods. So, we're going to talk about this new government agency “Build Canada Homes” and how it plans to “supercharge housing construction across Canada”. How will the programs work? What's the timeline for success in a crisis? And we'll get Mr. Robertson's view on why he thinks government is the solution to this problem when most people think government IS the problem.Thank you for joining us on #TheHerleBurly podcast. What happens when the war ends—but the battle within begins? This Sunday, June 15 @ 7PM CST, The MisFitNation welcomes Clay Moffat, a Navy veteran who's gone from boarding ops in Iraq to surviving his own internal collapse. Once nearly headed to federal prison and estranged from his father, Clay rebuilt from rock bottom to forge a life of radical ownership. After building and blowing up a 7-figure business, nearly losing his sight in 2024, and facing personal demons head-on, Clay wrote “The Trust Trap”—a raw, unapologetic guide to reclaiming power and escaping the lies we tell ourselves.

In this powerful episode of Healthy Mind, Healthy Life, host Avik Chakraborty sits down with elite behavioral coach and ex-Navy weapons tech Clay Moffat, author of The Trust Trap. Together, they dismantle the myth of confidence and reveal why commitment—not confidence—is the true foundation for trust, transformation, and self-leadership. If you've ever found yourself stuck in burnout, people-pleasing, or performance mode, this conversation will cut through the noise and call you back to your own authority. About the Guest:Clay Moffat is a high-performance coach, former Navy weapons technician, and the unapologetically direct author of The Trust Trap. He helps elite performers, leaders, and founders navigate betrayal, self-sabotage, and the illusion of confidence by teaching how to rebuild internal trust and commit to uncomfortable growth. Known for his no-fluff coaching and psychological insights, Clay's mission is to wake people up to their own patterns and reclaim their power. Key Takeaways: Confidence is emotional and unreliable—commitment is structural and sustainable. Most people wait to “feel ready,” but action creates confidence—not the other way around. The nervous system defaults to familiarity—even if it's destructive—due to evolutionary wiring. Outsourcing sanity looks like over-validation, avoidance, and attachment to external systems or roles. Leaders burning out often hide behind performance, micromanagement, and a fear of slowing down. Rebuilding trust in yourself starts by showing up consistently, not waiting for a perfect moment. Memory, manipulation, and moon landings collide in one of the most audacious season openers in Doctor Who history. In The Impossible Astronaut and Day of the Moon, Steven Moffat unleashes the Silence — a monster so terrifying, you forget them the moment you look away — and dares viewers to keep up with a non-linear plot packed with space-suited children, timey-wimey double Doctors, and a shockingly competent Nixon. But does all the complexity serve the story, or is it storytelling gymnastics for its own sake? The team digs into Moffat's high-wire act of serialization, the emotional weight behind Amy's and River's connections with the Doctor, and how forgetting may be the most frightening concept of all.Give your own rating for The Impossible Astronaut and Day of the Moon on Spotify!Subscribe to our YouTube Channel and become a True Companion of the podcast to get new episodes before everyone else!Subscribe to our newsletter at pulltoopen.net for extended notes on The Impossible Astronaut and Day of the Moon.Support the podcast by becoming a patron of Pull To Open on Patreon. Please review Pull To Open on Apple Podcasts.Timeline:Intro 00:00:00Previously… 00:01:52Whomoji Challente 00:08:00Poll to Open 00:13:51TL;DW 00:21:14Commentary: The Impossible Astronaut | Day of the Moon 00:24:07History Corner 00:43:04Four Questions to Doomsday 01:06:16What If the Evil Plot Had Succeeded? 01:11:05Where Is the Clara Splinter? 01:16:23Final Judgment 01:19:37Randomizer! 01:26:16Follow us on:TikTok: @pulltoopenInstagram: @pulltoopen63Facebook: @pulltoopen63X: @pulltoopen63Threads: @pulltoopen63Bluesky: @pulltoopenPlay Pull To Open BingoStory EssentialsSeries 6, Episodes 1 & 2Story number: 217, per the The Pull To Open CodexWriters: Steven MoffatDirector: Toby HaynesShowrunner: Steven MoffatAired 23–30 April 2011Pull To Open: The Impossible Astronaut | Day of the MoonSeason 6Episode 22Hosts: Pete Pachal and Chris TaylorMusic: Martin West/Thinking Fish©️AnyWho Media LLC 2025Doctor Who ©️BBC 1963
In this episode, I sit down with Clay Moffat, a former Navy weapons tech turned high-performance behavioral strategist and author of The Trust Trap. Clay's life took a sharp turn when he went legally blind in one eye, torched a 7‑figure business chasing a failed app, and was forced to confront the patterns of self-betrayal that had shaped his identity. Through raw introspection and tactical reframing, he rebuilt himself—and now helps leaders reclaim their authority and live in ruthless alignment with their values. Clay's story is an unfiltered look at the high cost of misalignment—and the deep power of rewiring trust, from the inside out. Some Key Highlights:The identity-shattering moment he realized self-betrayal was at the root of his strugglesHow he rewrote his inner dialogue by uncovering the positive intent behind toxic self-talkThe nuanced difference between trust as a virtue vs. trust as a mutual exchangeWhat it really takes to recover after burning your business—and your reputation—to the groundHis radical view on boundaries, victimhood, and personal sovereigntyThis episode is packed with insights that challenge conventional thinking on trust, identity, and power. Whether you're rebuilding after a fall or ready to stop betraying your own standards, Clay's perspective is a must-hear.Clay's links:https://www.facebook.com/clay.moffathttps://x.com/MoffatClaywww.claymoffat.com/We'd appreciate a review on Apple Podcasts and/or Spotify. On June 20, 2025, a Colorado grand jury indicted Barry Morphew for the first-degree murder of his wife, Suzanne Morphew, who disappeared on Mother's Day 2020. Her remains were discovered in September 2023 in a shallow grave near Moffat, Colorado, approximately 40 miles from their home. An autopsy revealed the presence of a powerful animal tranquilizer cocktail known as BAM (butorphanol, azaperone, and medetomidine) in Suzanne's system. Investigators determined that Barry Morphew was the only private citizen in the area with access to BAM, a drug he had used in his previous deer farming activities in Indiana. Additionally, tranquilizer equipment was found in the couple's home, and records showed no other individuals or businesses in the region had obtained BAM prescriptions between 2017 and 2020.On June 20, 2025, a Colorado grand jury indicted Barry Morphew for the first-degree murder of his wife, Suzanne Morphew, who disappeared on Mother's Day 2020. This is an episode of massive importance. My deepest thanks to my guest, Becky Nulle, who endured horrific experiences of rape and sexual assault from multiple perpetrators, one of which was the Deputy Superintendent of Chicago Schools, James Moffat, in the late 70's and early 80's. Becky was one of 5 victims that suffered rape and sexual assault from Moffat who was finally charged and prosecuted in the mid-80's. But Becky's story starts with parents who, as she puts it, were neglectful. Becky was victimized by bullies at school, vulnerable, and easy prey to “Darrel” who promised her protection but became her first sexual abuser. He was also the person who trafficked Becky to Moffat. And then, as a result of Becky searching for safety and connection, she fell victim to several other adults who took advantage of Becky's vulnerability and exposure on the streets of Chicago. This story is tragic…and yet triumphant. Because Becky sought out help and healing. And found it through her therapist, Jan Spangler, who introduced Becky to brainspotting, a very effective trauma therapy method, according to Becky. She says that brainspotting saved her life, helping her recognize and deal with her hidden traumas, saved her marriage, and provided her with the ability to pursue her bachelor's degree, as well as the pathway of writing a book. The book is Anger, Alcohol, and Healing through Brainspotting, now available for pre-release ordering. ( Becky also provided me with a brief bio that I want to include: Becky Nulle is a soon to be published author and a volunteer who helps the Hmong community in Northern Wisconsin. She is a Sexual Assault/Rape Survivor of James Moffat, a powerful man who was second in charge of the Chicago Public School System at one time. Becky is married, has a Doberman and eight ducks. She is currently working on her Bachelors Degree in Communications. This is an episode that you'll not want to miss. And I encourage you to copy the link to this episode and share it with family, friends, and acquaintances. The impact will help bring justice to victims and survivors of rape and sexual assault, and help educate those who listen in. And, it may just save someone's life. This episode is filled with substance, reflection, and a deep commitment to the healing process. It's a powerful reminder that survivor stories don't stop when the episode is over—and that advocacy can take many forms, including quiet reflection. This one is for every voice that hasn't been heard yet—and every listener who's ready to believe, support, and speak up. An important side note: if you're finding value in these episodes, please take a moment to leave a 5-star rating on your podcast platform. AND, please send me a note of support. Peregrine falcons have been in residence at the University of Glasgow's Gilbert Scott Tower for a number of years now, with a new clutch of chicks being born again this year. Rachel met with Clarke Elsby from the university and John Simpson, from the Scottish Ornithologists Club, to get a glimpse of these magnificent birds of prey. Solsgirth Home Farm near Dollar is home to a large variety of animals, from sheep, to pigs, to emu. Owned and run by veterinarian Jan Dixon, the farm is passionate about reconnecting people to the realities of farm life. Mark went along to find out more about the ethos behind the farm. Trees are a strong source of inspiration for many creative arts, and one such artist is harpist and singer Mary McMaster, who has been working on a new composition called For the Love of Trees. Helen Needham met with Mary in the Royal Botanic Gardens to find out how woodlands have shaped her work. The Moffat Spitfire has been a local landmark for several years now. The plane has long been located in the garden of retired local GP Dr Hamish MacLeod, and has raised money for several military charities. Now, it is being given new significance, as part of a memorial for Air Chief Marshall Hugh Dowding, who was instrumental in coordinating defensive measures during the Battle of Britain. Mark met with Hamish at his home in Moffat to hear more about Dowding, and the plane itself. Ospreys are back across Scotland, and people across the world are following along on live cameras hosted at sites such as RSPB Loch Garten. Mark and Rachel hear from the Visitor Experience Manager Clark Evans about what an exciting – and sometimes drama-filled - time of year it is on the reserve. The glasshouse and walled garden in the centre of Banff was once home to fruit trees and grapes, grown for the imposing Duff House. Now, it has been transformed into The Vinery - a local community employment hub, teaching classes on all manner of topics, including gardening. Mark met with the gardener, Michelle Walker, to hear more about the opportunities The Vinery is provides to the local community.
In a rare intersection of time and space, Ben and David sit down on the same couch in the same living room at the same time to not only watch "Lux", a new episode of Doctor Who, but also to record a podcast on the very same story together. Wow! We talk about animation, RTD's storytelling and handling of 1952 America, Belinda's yellow dress, and breaking the fourth wall and who Davies depicted to represent fandom (replete with good-natured Moffat ribbing). Opening music is from "Make 'em Laugh" by Nacio Herb Brown and Arthur Freed from the 1952 MGM musical Singin' in the Rain and performed by Donald O'Connor. Closing music is "The Girl In The Yellow Dress" by David Gilmour and Polly Sampson off of the 2015 album, Rattle That Lock. We recorded this podcast on 23 April 2025.

Tread Perilously concludes its month of celebrating the new series Doctor Who with "Listen." As Clara goes on a somewhat uncomfortable date, The Doctor realizes he is talking to himself and supposes there might be a more sinister reason for it. Soon, he picks up Clara for a trip to the past, the future, and an impossible era to learn the truth behind the perfect hider and the monster under your bed. All the while, Clara's date, Danny Pink, seems to be at the center of the investigation. But is that to do with Clara? And who is the boy Clara finds in a barn somewhere far from England? Justin and Erik discuss Steven Moffat as a writer and his seeming resistance to platonic friendships. Actor Samuel Anderson gets praise for his performance in this episode ... but not as Danny Pink. "Listen" is unavoidably compared to "Blink," which leads to some surprising analysis of both. Does modern Doctor Who work best when Moffat and Russell T. Davies are involved at the same time? Erik once again suggests Matt Smith left earlier than originally planned. Justin praises a key sequence in the episode. Peter Capaldi's performance as The Doctor is reviewed anew and Justin identifies the only true romantic Doctor/companion pairing of the Classic series.
