I am so thrilled to have this amazing human join me for this episode. Kai is a TEDx speaker, violinist, composer and has been open about his struggles with being bipolar. Kai and I met because we are speakers at the same agency, and share the same agent. I was so fascinated by him and what he does when we were introduced, I just had to have him on. In this episode we talk about how this quarantine has actually created a flow and some discipline to assist in managing our mental illnesses, and we also chat about how Kai takes the art of composing and music as a metaphor and uses it to teach large corporations and businesses. https://www.kaikight.com/

Kai Kight discusses why he believes curiosity and intention are two qualities that embody mastery.
Kai Kight's background is anything but typical. When he was three, he began learning the violin, later going on to perform in places like the White House and the Great Wall of China. Then, he went on to earn an engineering degree from Stanford University's d. school where he was entrenched in the entrepreneurship community of Silicon Valley.
We have a compelling and beautiful story of an artist, in this case, a violinist, who despite being incredibly talented and accomplished, sought to use his instrument for an even greater purpose, inspiration. Kai Kight shares his music and journey and in the process provides ideas that you can take to compose your life, in your own way. Kai is an innovative violinist, composer, and speaker who has inspired thousands to reach their own creative potential. He brilliantly uses music as a metaphor to empower people at many of the world's leading organizations, from The Walt Disney Company to PricewaterhouseCoopers, to the Superbowl winning Seattle Seahawks of the NFL. With a diverse background, Kai holds an engineering degree from Stanford University's design school and as a violinist since age three he has performed in venues including the White House and the Great Wall of China.
Some conversations will be with those who summit the pinnacle of their profession —or break molds attempting to scale untold peaks. In this conversation, I was fortunate to sit down with a contemporary composer & innovator, Kai Kight. His background is anything but typical. Sports, Design, Stanford, Violin, Composing. He holds an engineering degree from Stanford University’s d. school where he was introduced to the innovative culture of Silicon Valley. As a Kleiner Perkins Design Fellow and Mayfield Fellow, Kai got an early start in entrepreneurship. Kai began playing the violin when he was 3 years old, was classically trained, and studied under the concertmaster of Kennedy Center Opera House Orchestra. His music has brought him to perform in venues such as the White House and the Great Wall of China. Today Kai composes his own music using an innovative style on the violin which blends classical technique with rhythms and textures from popular genres such as hip hop and jazz. His favorite composer is Bach, because of the soul riveting harmony and improvisational rhythms. He is thoughtful, articulate, and working to let his heart be felt.
