Starting on Thursday, February 5th, at no earlier than 9am Disneyland time, tickets will be available to the public for Disneyland After Dark: Disney Channel Nite and Star Wars Nite. Tuesday and Wednesday tickets will be open for Magic Key Holders. Disney Channel Nites will take place on April 12th, 14th, and 16th. This year, Penny Proud from “The Proud Family” will join other Disney Channel characters. Star Wars Nites will take place on April 28th, and 30th, and May 4th, and 6th. Today on another encore episode of the Rarified Heir Podcast, we speak to James Tomlinson, the son of actor David Tomlinson. Along the way we discuss Tominlson's friends like comedian Peter Sellers, horror movie icon Vincent Price as well as a co-star who made an impression on him that wasn't quite….good. In overviewing 2026 I said that the naming of a new CEO would be the most important milestone of the year for Disney. In truth, it may be the biggest moment of the decade. Every reign comes to an end. After months of speculation, Lucasfilm has announced that Kathleen Kennedy will step down as President. Kathy has been President of Lucasfilm since the Disney acquisition of the company in 2012. Despite a fandom that at many times were hostile towards her, Kathy led Lucasfilm into a bright new era of Star Wars which saw so many animated shows, comics, books, live action series, and films which has expanded the mythos and helped the Galaxy reach a plethora of new fans.In her "Exit Interview" with Deadline, Kathy discusses her storied career and discuss what has happened with many cancelled projects like Steve Soderbergh and Adam Driver's The Hunt For Ben Solo, James Mangold and Beau Willimon's Dawn of The Jedi and beyond.As Kathy returns to producing (including the upcoming The Mandalorian And Grogu, and Starfighter), we salute her incredible career and wish her all the best in her future projects.While one reign ends, another begins. However, a pattern quickly emerged.“They would see me, and they'd see that white cane in my hand—and the temperature would drop about 20 degrees,” she shares.*She looked great on paper, but once employers realized she was blind, their perception shifted.“Suddenly that warm greeting I got earlier became a cold conversation, and it always ended with the ‘Don't call us, we'll call you,'” she says. “The calls and emails never came.”Tired of rejection, she decided to say yes to herself. “I knew I had the power to hire me,” Richardson explains.*Her determination only grew as she stepped into the business world as a blind, Black entrepreneurial woman.*At first, she believed that fitting into corporate norms was the only way to succeed. “I thought I had to be very corporate, buttoned-up, and wear my power suit,” she admits. “But that's not me. When I tried to show up like that—stiff and stuffy—I wasn't comfortable in my own skin, and the doors still weren't opening.”Only when Richardson embraced her true self did things change.“I showed up with my big curly hair, my big earrings, and my colorful outfits—that's when people started seeing my personality first,” she shares.Building Her Own EmpireA self-described tech-savvy individual, Richardson adapted quickly to e-readers when the iPhone first launched them. Soon after, she founded iSee Technologies with the goal of helping her visually impaired and blind peers regain independence—particularly through employment.But her clients often faced the same rejections she once did.“I said to myself, ‘I need to evolve iSee Technologies to become part of the solution,'” Richardson says. “I decided to use my voice and my platform to go in and teach companies how to be more inclusive in their hiring and workplace culture—so when they see disability, they don't immediately reject it.”Today, iSee Technologies is a thriving business that offers people development consulting, accessibility services, and workforce wellness training to companies and government agencies. Their client list includes The Walt Disney Company, BASF, Kimberly-Clark Corporation, Kraft, and the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency.Inclusion Is Good for BusinessHiring people from diverse backgrounds and abilities enhances innovation and team performance.“The biggest misconception is that accommodations for people with disabilities are expensive,” Richardson explains. “But 59% of accommodations cost nothing at all—and the other 41% cost less than $500.”Many businesses fail to see the value of disabled employees simply because they don't understand it.“We are some of the most creative and innovative team members you'll ever have,” she says. “We live in a world not designed for us, so we have to be the ultimate problem solvers.”-One of iSee Technologies' corporate clients saw this potential and hired Richardson to conduct training to empower their teams to create more accessible environments. Frank Yiannas, M.P.H. is a renowned food safety leader and executive, food system futurist, author, professor, past president of the International Association of Food Protection (IAFP), and advocate for consumers. Most recently, he served under two different administrations as the Deputy Commissioner for Food Policy and Response at the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA), a position he held from 2018–2023, after spending 30 years in leadership roles with Walmart and the Walt Disney Company. After retiring from FDA, Mr. Yiannas founded Smarter FY Solutions to help organizations address critical food safety and supply chain challenges. He also advises several well-known companies, offering consultancy services to modernize compliance strategies and ensure that clients meet regulatory requirements and industry standards. Throughout his career, Mr. Yiannas has been recognized for his role in strengthening food safety standards in new and innovative ways, as well as building effective food safety management systems based on modern, science-based, and tech-enabled prevention principles. Drew McDonald is the Senior Vice President of Quality and Food Safety at Taylor Fresh Foods in Salinas, California, where he oversees the quality and food safety programs across the foodservice, retail, and deli operations under both FDA and U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) jurisdictions. Mr. McDonald works with an impressive team developing and managing appropriate and practical quality and food safety programs for fresh food and produce products. He has more than 30 years of experience in fresh produce and fresh foods. Over the course of his career, Mr. McDonald has worked with growers and processors of fresh food and produce items across the globe. He currently serves on numerous food safety-related technical committees and has participated in the authorship of many produce safety articles and guidelines. He serves on the Food Safety Summit Educational Advisory Board and is a former chair of the Center for Produce Food Safety's Technical Committee and United Fresh's Technical Council. Mr. McDonald received his education from Lawrence University in Wisconsin. John Besser, Ph.D. worked for ten years as Deputy Chief of the Enteric Diseases Laboratory Branch at the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), where he was involved in national and global programs to detect, characterize, and track gastrointestinal diseases. Prior to CDC, Dr. Besser led the infectious disease laboratory at the Minnesota Department of Health (MDH) for 19 years and served as a clinical microbiologist at the University of Minnesota Hospital for five years. He currently works as an independent contractor and consultant. Dr. Besser is the author or co-author of more than 70 publications. He received his Ph.D. and M.S. degree from the University of Minnesota. Craig Hedberg, Ph.D. is a Professor in the Division of Environmental Health Sciences at the University of Minnesota and Co-Director of the Minnesota Integrated Food Safety Center of Excellence. He promotes public health surveillance as a prerequisite for effective food control, and his work focuses on improving methods for collaboration among public health and regulatory agencies, academic researchers, and industry to improve foodborne illness surveillance and outbreak investigations. With a background in public health practice, Dr. Hedberg also focuses on public health workforce development and works with state, local, and tribal public health partners to build capacity for preparedness and emergency response. He is a member of the Council of State and Territorial Epidemiologists, the Minnesota Environmental Health Association, and IAFP. Dr. Hedberg holds a Ph.D. in Epidemiology and an M.S. degree in Environmental Health, both from the University of Minnesota.
