What would happen if Len Testa and Chris Cox were suddenly handed the keys to The Walt Disney Company? In this spirited session of The Case For, Jim Hill presides as the guys pitch their boldest, nerdiest, and occasionally unhinged ideas for the future of Walt Disney World. From resurrecting Magical Express to replacing Jungle Cruise with a Moana and Lilo & Stitch volcano coaster, nothing is off the table. HIGHLIGHTS • Should Disney bring back Magical Express and resort package delivery, possibly with paid expedited options to drive incremental revenue? • Len proposes accepting international Annual Passes at domestic parks in 2026 to offset projected declines in overseas travel. • A controversial pitch to replace Magic Kingdom's Jungle Cruise with a family-friendly Fire Mountain coaster themed to Moana and Lilo & Stitch. • Extending the Skyliner to connect Animal Kingdom, Coronado Springs, All-Stars, and Blizzard Beach to increase resort occupancy and reduce bus demand. • A Villains-themed breakfast at Be Our Guest as a test kitchen for the upcoming Villains Land. • Chris suggests an AI-powered Memory Maker upgrade that auto-edits photos and creates shareable reels for guests. • The long-lost Adventures Club, the future of the monorail system, airline luggage check-in at resorts, and even a “Need a Pee” line re-entry pass all make the docket. That is the question John Tabis asked before launching The Bouqs Company. By recognizing that both flower farmers and consumers were being ignored by the traditional floral industry, he found a unique way to disrupt the market. In today's episode, John shared how his company deploys technology directly at the source. Instead of flowers passing through five or six layers of middlemen, farmers cut, prep and pack the product to send directly to the consumer. This model drastically reduces waste and increases freshness.“We thought, what an amazing opportunity to build a new supply chain that simplifies that supply chain, uses technology to deliver the freshest, high quality, sustainable blooms,” John explained.Since launching with just a few thousand dollars in the bank, the company has generated over a billion dollars in gross revenue. Customers love the value and they deeply resonate with the brand's commitment to sustainability. Now, John is taking community engagement to the next level. The Bouqs Company is currently raising capital through a regulated investment crowdfunding campaign. This allows loyal customers and everyday investors to own a piece of the business.John noted that turning a customer base into an investor base creates a massive crowd of brand promoters. When people invest in a company they love, they naturally share its mission with friends and family. The current regulation crowdfunding campaign is capped at $5 million and is filling up quickly. The funds will be used to expand their physical retail footprint nationwide to offer faster delivery and fully arranged vases. If you want to support a sustainable business model and own a stake in a rapidly growing brand, this is a remarkable opportunity to align your investments with your values.tl;dr:John Tabis revolutionized the floral industry by connecting sustainable farms directly to everyday consumers. The Bouqs Company reduces waste and ensures fresher flowers by eliminating unnecessary supply chain middlemen. The company is currently raising up to $5 million through a regulated investment crowdfunding campaign.John relies on his superpower of unending faith to navigate the toughest entrepreneurial challenges successfully. In today's episode we learned that combining strong convictions with flexibility drives massive business growth. How to Develop Unending Faith As a SuperpowerJohn defines his superpower as having unending faith. He describes it as “the ability to believe without evidence” and notes that as an entrepreneur he consistently has faith in a better future. He believes that “there's a better step ahead” and that “a better version of ourselves, of our companies, of our products [is] around the corner.” This unwavering belief serves as the absolute cornerstone of his journey as a founder.A powerful example of this faith occurred during the company's Series B fundraising round about eight or nine years ago. The business was burning cash and was literally weeks away from running completely out of money. John's VP of finance asked when they should pull the emergency cord to start cutting costs. Relying on his unending faith, John told him not to worry. Just four or five days before their cash ran out, they received a term sheet and successfully closed the capital needed to keep the business thriving. To develop unending faith as a personal strength, John offers the following actionable tips:Maintain very strong convictions but hold them loosely so you can adapt when necessary.Be 100 percent sure of your vision until you receive clear evidence that you need to pivot.Remain highly flexible and willing to shift your strategy dramatically based on market feedback.Iterate your way to the right solution instead of getting trapped by narrow-minded tunnel vision.By following John's example and advice, you can make unending faith a skill. With practice and effort, you could make it a superpower that enables you to do more good in the world.Remember, however, that research into success suggests that building on your own superpowers is more important than creating new ones or overcoming weaknesses. You do you!Guest ProfileJohn Tabis (he/him):Founder & Chairman, The Bouqs CompanyAbout The Bouqs Company: Bouqs is a digital first online disruptor of the $100B global floral market leveraging technology to improve the customer experience with flowers.Website: bouqs.comCompany Facebook Page: facebook.com/thebouqsco Company Twitter Handle: @thebouqsco Other URL: invest.bouqs.comBiographical Information: John Tabis is a visionary, a strategist, a marketer, and a Founder. Gio is back with Buff Faye and bringing the dating drama. In this episode, titled “Let Me Entertain You,” Gio shares why “Backpack” is better off as a friend and opens up about navigating life as a 35-year-old gay man who loves his “sissy nerdy” types. From Tinder to Hinge to OkayCupid, Gio calls himself an “older soul” — the kind who wants to fix and keep what's worth it. He and Buff also dish on the current season of RuPaul's Drag Race, debate what makes a “seasoned entertainer,” and yes, Gio event spills it on Godiva the dog and her wall licking, chaotic karaoke barking. Then the spotlight turns to special guest Reann Ballslee, a powerhouse entertainer with over two decades of experience in theme parks, cruise ships, and live production. From growing up in Richmond, VA and learning drag at Godfrey's, to winning Homecoming Queen in drag at George Mason University in 2009, Reann's journey blends performance, pageantry, and fabulousness. After moving to Orlando and working with the Walt Disney Company and alongside entertainers like Roxxxy Andrews at Pulse, her drag became rooted in spectacle, storytelling, and technical excellence. Reann shares how teaching and performing as Disney princesses shaped her movement and stage presence — those “princess hands” live in her body to this day. She talks about investing in your craft, knowing what defines you as an entertainer, and producing shows that move audiences. Inspired by icons like Dolly Parton and Kylie Minogue's Aphrodite Tour, Reann believes “larger than life is just the right size.” Buff and Reann also discuss producing strong drag shows, community connection, and the importance of honing your skills in an evolving drag landscape. The episode wraps with the fan-favorite game “YASSSS QUEEN.” Entertainment that educates and celebrates — this episode is all about what it truly means to entertain. Eat it Up!
Oral Arguments for the Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit
WAG Acquisition, LLC v. Walt Disney Company
As consultants and coaches, we know trust is the foundation of any meaningful relationship. And it is especially true in the work we do with our clients. When clients trust us, everything changes. They open up. They share what is really going on. They accept feedback. They take risks. They implement our recommendations. That is when real transformation happens in their careers, businesses, and organizations. Without trust, even if we land the contract, the engagement quietly falls apart. Clients stay guarded. They hesitate. They hold back. The work never reaches its full potential. But here is the deeper question. What if trust does not begin in your discovery call? What if it begins long before that? In this episode, I explore the idea that trust is built at every touchpoint of your brand. Your website. Your messaging. Your positioning. The clarity of your expertise. The way you communicate your purpose. All of it either lowers anxiety and builds confidence, or creates subtle barriers to trust. And not just trust in you. Trust in themselves and their ability to create change. Joining me is Dr. J.B. Adams, executive development strategist and trust researcher, whose doctoral work focused specifically on what builds trust and what breaks it . Together, we unpack why branding is not about looking impressive. It is about creating safety. In This Episode, You'll Hear: Why trust is the real driver of successful consulting and coaching engagements, and why it starts long before the discovery call. The three core elements that build trust and how they apply directly to your brand. How vague positioning quietly erodes credibility, and why clear specialization instantly increases trust. The surprising lesson a skin cancer diagnosis taught me about branding, safety, and client anxiety. Why moving from order taker to strategic partner is essential if you want to build a brand that commands respect and long-term loyalty. If you are a consultant or coach who wants deeper client engagement, stronger results, and more powerful word of mouth, this conversation will shift how you think about your brand. Are you clearly demonstrating expertise, integrity, and genuine care? Or are there subtle gaps that could be creating hesitation? Move from order taker to strategic partner: Consider where you might be saying yes out of habit instead of alignment. Trust grows when you position yourself as a thoughtful expert who solves a specific problem, not just someone who takes requests. What If Losing Everything Is the Very Thing That Leads You to Your Real Life? In this conversation with Sage Steele, I sit down with a woman who had her entire world flipped upside down in real time. Sixteen years at ESPN. A respected career. A single mom carrying the financial weight of her family. And then one moment on a podcast where she spoke her mind, and it all changed. What followed was suspension, public backlash, legal battles with The Walt Disney Company, and the kind of pressure most people only pray they never experience. But this episode is not about politics. It is about courage. It is about what happens when you are forced to choose between comfort and conviction. Sage opens up about the fear of losing everything, the weight of being the breadwinner for her kids, and the internal battle of standing up for herself after years of staying quiet. She shares what it felt like to be publicly attacked, to receive threats, to question herself in the darkest moments, and then to make a decision that changed the trajectory of her life. What moved me most was not just her resilience, but the legacy behind it. The story of her father, a West Point graduate who broke barriers and chose the “harder right” in the face of racism and rejection, will stay with you. That foundation shaped Sage more than she realized. And when she finally stood up for herself, her son looked at her and said, “Mom, it's about time you stood up for yourself.” That moment alone is worth listening to this entire episode. And here is the part I want you to hear if you are going through your own blow up right now. Sage lost her job. She walked away from the only career she had known for decades. She had no clear next step. But she surrendered control. She leaned into faith. She built her own platform. And in the middle of the uncertainty, she met the man who is now her husband in a moment that only God could orchestrate. The same pain that felt like devastation became the doorway to a new life. If you are afraid to speak up, afraid to make the change, afraid to lose what feels secure, this conversation will challenge you. Sometimes the thing you are clinging to is the very thing holding you back from the life you were meant to live. Key Takeaways: Why standing on principle can cost you everything, and still be worth it How to function and perform at a high level while your world feels like it is collapsing The difference between controlling outcomes and surrendering them How your children learn more from what you model than what you preach Why the hardest seasons of your life often become the most defining This one is about faith. It is about courage. It is about choosing the harder right. And it might just be the reminder you need that your setback is not the end of your story. Max Out. Also don't miss out on MAXOUT2026: Once a year, I open my home for an intimate one-day experience unlike anything else I do. This year, I'm making it even smaller, just 15 to 18 people. Together, we'll dive deep into the exact strategies I use to plan, visualize, and design the best year of my life and yours. Since 2014, the L&D Global Sentiment Survey has been a barometer of what's hot and what's not in the Learning & Development profession, guiding people development professionals towards the trends that their peers are most concerned about. In this episode, Donald H Taylor takes a deep dive into the 2026 report and explores in conversation what we should all be taking note of. Take your L&D to the next level Take advantage of thousands of hours of analysis. Hundreds of conversations with industry innovators and 25+ years of hands-on global L&D leadership. It's all distilled into one framework to help you level up L&D. Access the L&D Maturity Model here - https://360learning.com/maturity-model KEY TAKEAWAYS The strongest route to security and impact for L&D is finding real business problems through your network, then designing simple, targeted interventions that change behaviour and performance—whether or not the answer looks like traditional training. L&D cannot afford to anchor it's worth to content production. If it does it risks being commoditised instead of recognised for solving real business problems. AI is more powerful than we thought, it is helping to deliver truly personalised training. Microlearning may feel like “old news” in some markets, but the survey shows it's still emerging and powerful elsewhere. A reminder that L&D practices move at very different speeds across the world. BEST MOMENTS “The future is going to belong to people who understood early on what worked and what didn't work.” “The wrong turn is to go towards focusing on content.” Donald H Taylor Bio A recognised commentator and thinker in the fields of workplace learning and supporting technologies, Donald is committed to helping develop the learning and development profession. Donald has chaired the Learning Technologies Conference in London since 2000 and writes and speaks world-wide about Learning and Development (L&D). His annual L&D Global Sentiment Survey, started in 2014, provides a unique perspective on L&D trends from over 100 countries. He chairs the Workforce Development board for VC firm Emerge Education, and invests in, and advises, several EdTech start-ups. From 2010 to 2021, he chaired the Learning and Performance Institute. He is the author of Learning Technologies in the Workplace, a graduate of Oxford University and in 2016 was awarded an honorary doctorate by Middlesex University in recognition of his work developing the L&D profession. Disney fans rejoice! On this episode we take a look at "Honey, I Shrunk the Kids" representation in the Disney theme parks through the years. Sometimes folks forget just how big a hit this movie was for The Walt Disney Company. And with any sort of hit, that means it'll get some kind of theme park representation. Back in its heyday, "Honey, I Shrunk the Kids" content could be found in Disney parks all over the world. Although there may be less of it today, you can still find it if you know where to look. I even came across one bit of "Honey, I Shrunk the Kids" representation history at Walt Disney World that even I didn't know about. When Team USA wins gold at the Olympic Games, the players stand on the podium… but the coach who built the system walks away empty-handed. We argue they don't need multiple medals in sports like gymnastics, where one athlete racks up several, but at least give them one medal or the highest medal their team earns. We also break down how Netflix's biggest movie ever, K-Pop Demon Hunters, reportedly hit a 110% watch-through rate compared to subscribers. The film clearly exploded with kids, the songs went viral, and repeat views pushed it into streaming history. And finally, the wild story of how Toy Story was almost canceled because Woody was originally written as mean. Pixar Animation Studios had to beg Walt Disney Company to let them rewrite the script, and that decision turned it into one of the biggest franchises of all time.Check out our YouTube page - https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCoqz3s_B_VYHuQtuVIDxpiQTikTok - https://www.tiktok.com/@therealoshow?is_from_webapp=1&sender_device=pcTweet @zacharyowings2 with your thoughts about the podcast or suggestions for future shows.Music by Leno Tk - Greatness (Streaming on all platforms)

Jim and Lauren dive into the late-80s Sears exclusive Disney World Town Square replica - the ambitious “starter set” that promised Main Street magic at home just as Disney Stores began popping up in malls nationwide. Lauren's Valentine's gift to Eric sparks a deep dive into one of the most fascinating Disney retail experiments of the 1980s: the Sears-exclusive Walt Disney World Town Square replica. Jim explains how this surprisingly elaborate playset - complete with bendable Mickey and Minnie figures and optional upgrades like working streetlights and a smoking train - was born out of a major licensing deal between Sears and The Walt Disney Company. But when the first Disney Store locations began opening in malls, that partnership quickly unraveled. Location check: Beth is currently recording from a frozen fortress, channeling her inner Elsa. Vanessa is in Germany with exactly one hour of free time before she has to do a literal mic drop and bolt out of the studio. You know the vibes. We've got news. Like, actual big news that involves the very top of the Walt Disney Company and a certain parks guy moving into the big corner office. We have thoughts. Optimistic thoughts, even. Also, Disneyland Paris just won something shiny. Like, an actual industry award for one of their nighttime offerings. We're choosing to take this as validation of everything we've ever said. There are parade updates with some surprise character appearances that made us both gasp and a new flower shop that has no flowers for sale. Riddle us that ! Oh, and annual pass prices went up. Like, significantly up. We're talking about what changed, who's affected, and why the Disney internet is currently on fire about it. Vanessa just survived a week at Disneyland Paris with her husband and their tiny terror—sorry, very energetic toddler—Lizzie. And by "survived," we mean she's here to tell us: How Lizzie became the unofficial announcer at the train station, loudly informing everyone that they needed to vacate immediately so SHE could board. The passengers listened. The child has power. Why their hotel room featured housekeeping leaving behind some...smelly items that definitely did NOT belong in a hotel room, and a bathtub crack so severe it looked like it was themed for Phantom Manor rather than Newport Bay Club. How getting your toddler to eat a hotel breakfast BEFORE taking them to a park breakfast is the key to character meal success. And the exact second she understood that taking a toddler to Disney is less "magical family holiday" and more "hostage situation with Mickey waffles." Just kidding. She had a great time and is full of tips to make your own DLP trip with a tot picture-perfect ! Plus, we've got a special moment at the end celebrating a brand new baby girl who just joined the D2DLP family. Beth gets emotional. It's very sweet. We're saving your listener mail for a special March episode because something (or someone?) very exciting is coming in February…Plus, our friends( and sponsors!) at EasyGo Shuttle are still offering a discount code for our listeners—5D2DLP5—so you can start your 2026 trips stress-free. In this episode of The Learning & Development Podcast, David James is joined by Geraldine Murphy to explore how learning can move from a reactive service to a strategic driver of business impact. Geraldine shares how she built the foundations for transformation - introducing governance, process, and consistency - and shifted the culture from chasing “shiny new things” to making smarter decisions about building, borrowing, buying, or automating learning. She reflects on influencing stakeholders, the power of storytelling in driving change and the personal skills that mattered most throughout the journey. This conversation is a guide for L&D professionals ready to tackle entrenched challenges, start making change even without formal permission and step confidently into a more strategic, impactful role. Take your L&D to the next level Take advantage of thousands of hours of analysis. Hundreds of conversations with industry innovators and 25+ years of hands-on global L&D leadership. It's all distilled into one framework to help you level up L&D. Access the L&D Maturity Model here - https://360learning.com/maturity-model KEY TAKEAWAYS Passion isn't enough; without structure, governance and the right tools, L&D effort stays local and inefficient. Data‑driven storytelling unlocks investment and permission to transform. Governance, clear promises to the business, and knowing when to say “no” are central to leading large‑scale change. L&D must link learning directly to productivity and business performance to escape being seen as simply a “nice to have.” BEST MOMENTS “We weren't doing technology for technology's sake.” “If your people aren't growing, then the business is not growing.” “When you've got a vision to elevate L&D to be business savvy, accountable and impactful, it's not so difficult to bring senior stakeholders on board to help to shape that.” “For the first time, we had one platform to rule them all.” Geraldine Murphy Bio Geraldine Murphy is an experienced Learning & Development leader, most recently Global Learning Experience Manager at HEINEKEN. In this role, she managed a broad global portfolio of learning tools and processes and worked with 85 decentralised learning teams to support the delivery of L&D for more than 90,000 employees worldwide. Alongside this, she served as a Global DEI Ambassador, contributing to the organisation's diversity, equity, and inclusion agenda. Geraldine began her career in education following her teacher training in 2009 and has since worked across further and higher education, publishing, and technology. Her work includes leading learning design for HE partnership programmes at a FTSE 100 publisher and consulting with organisations such as HSBC University (Global), FourthRev, Aula, Scribbr, Jisc and the University of Cambridge. She also sits on the advisory boards for SAP SuccessFactors and LinkedIn Learning. But they also tend to shy away from anything that’s technical.” “If you’ve got, if you spent the money to get someone to the site, it only makes sense to spend money where people are spending the majority of their time.” “When those two things collided. So was born Smart Panda Labs.”
