Hanna is the Co-Founder and President  of Lollaland, an infant and toddler goods manufacturing company designed to be functional and fun. In this episode, hear about how Hanna, a chemistry teacher at home with her daughter, decided to design a straw cup that was easy to use, easy to clean, safe (BPA/BPS-, PVC-. Phthalate-free, etc.), Made in the USA, and just plain attractive. Hanna recalls the day she realized she did not want to be a stay-at-home mom and shares how she transitioned into an entrepreneur through a desire to solve drinking issue for her daughter. Hanna shares with us the story of how she started her company with nothing but an desire to create a product that would help kids like her daughter who had a hard time with the cups out in the market at the time. With no previous experience in the field Hanna managed to find a way to not only create her product but get her product on the famous show "Shark Tank" where it was picked up and it is now one of the top baby brand products in the market. Hanna is a mother of 3 beautiful girls, and runs her family company alongside her husband. She also shares with us a very interesting story of her experience in Korean "Wife School" and everything she learned there. When her daughter was nine-months-old, she was able to drink from a straw, and her pediatrician suggested weaning her directly to a straw instead of a traditional sippy cup. Hanna purchased several toddler straw cups but realized that her daughter couldn’t get a sip out of any of them. Inspired, she set out to create a cup with a valve-free straw and weighted end so that children could drink from the straw at any angle – and Lollacup was born. Hanna Lim is the mother of three daughters and is the co-founder and president of Lollaland. Prior to creating the Lollacup, Hanna received her Masters in Education at UCLA and worked as a high school chemistry teacher. In her spare time, she is active in several parenting groups, serves on the board of the Wellesley College Club of Pasadena, and is a volunteer member of Kidspace Museum’s Circle of Friends.
