Welcome to the first episode of School Counselor Gone Rogue, a podcast by Marni Pasch, that explores all things struggling students and the education system. In this episode Marni talks about her passion for helping struggling students, and why focusing on struggling students could mean protecting our future leaders.
School presents many challenges for students, and there are problems in the public school system that exacerbates these issues for some students. Our guest for this program, Ms. Marni Pasch, Owner of Team Pasch Academic Coaching. After working in the school system and experiencing the high student to teacher ratio, sometimes reaching 450 to 1, she wanted to do more, and help struggling students reach their full potential. During this program we will discuss with Ms. Pasch how students and parents may work together to survive the many challenges of school, without the stress. Some of the topics discussed include study skills, time management, organization, and motivation. We will also discuss study skills from a parent's perspective, parenting in middle school and high school, and social issues such as the inequity in resources in public schools, white teachers who often just don't understand how to relate to children of color.
