The entrance into a life of full obedience. “The golden rule for understanding in spiritual matters is not intellect but obedience.” - Oswald Chambers We only begin to see a change when we apply what we know! By Pastor George Lehman Philippians 2:8 (Amp) – And after He had appeared in human form, He abased and humbled Himself [still further] and carried His obedience to the extreme of death, even the death of the cross!   NOTICE: Jesus was already obedient, but he took His obedience to a deeper level, how far are you willing to take your obedience before you will give up? Giving your life to Jesus is the 1st step, from there we must grow deeper in obedience. The secret of a successful spiritual race is to have the goal clearly defined and to have it as your aim from the ‘outset'. Determined to finish strong. Hebrews 12:1b (NIV) – And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us.   Notice… He became obedient to the point of death. There is no other Christ for any of us; no other obedience that pleases God; no other example for us to copy; no other teacher from whom to learn. Many Christians suffer because they DO NOT from the ‘outset' accept this as the only obedience for which they are to strive. They just plod along, dabble in continuous sinful habits, and hardly think much of the deep obedience that God requires of them! Psalm 119:59 (NIV) - “I considered my ways; I turned my feet to (OBEY) Your testimonies” - David looked at his way and made a choice. We are living in times when many people accept Jesus as Lord and Saviour. All they are willing to do is to make a few adjustments but not a 180 degree turn around. OH, they turn around but continue in that turned around position and carry on backward in the same old way. AND … continue in a life of continued sin and dis-obedience. Cheap grace is grace without discipleship; grace without the cross; grace without Jesus Christ.  - Dietrich Bonhoeffer   Cheap grace means living as though God ignores or condones our sin. Cheap grace means living without the demand from God for obedience upon us. Where there is no call for obedience, then all things are tolerated; do your own thing; anything goes; eternity is not important. 1 John 2:4 (Amp) – Whoever says, I know Him [I perceive, recognize, understand, and am acquainted with Him] but fails to keep and obey His commandments (teachings) is a liar, and the Truth [of the Gospel] is not in him. The question is:  Do you obey because God demands it?  Or Do you obey because you want to please God? We might think that God wanted simple obedience to a set of rules, whereas He really wants people of a particular sort. - C.S. Lewis And the sort of people that God wants us to be… are those who desire to conform themselves to the image and character of His Son. God's delight in our obedience is good news because everything God commands us, is for our good. What God is delighting in is our obedience to willingly offer ourselves to Him. Deuteronomy 10:12-13 (LB) – And now, Israel, what does the Lord your God require of you except to listen carefully to all he says to you, and to obey for your own good the commandments I am giving you today, and to love him and to worship him with all our hearts and souls? Obedience to God's commands is not hard or a burden. 1 John 5:3 (GNT) – To love God means that we obey His commandments, obeying His commandments isn't difficult. If people were true to the first commandment, obedience to the remaining nine would follow naturally.  It is because they are unsound in this that they break the others. - D.L. Moody Deuteronomy 30:11 (Amp) – For this commandment which I command you this day is not too difficult for you, nor is it far off. Is there something still holding you back from ‘entering into a life of full obedience'? God sent Jesus into the world to restore obedience to its rightful place in our hearts and lives so that the child of God has a very clear guideline how to shape his new life in Christ entering in and continuing to grow into a life of obedience. Jesus gave His all.  How much are you willing to surrender? How obedient are you willing to be? Romans 16:25-26 (MSG) - All of our praise rises to the One who is strong enough to make you strong, exactly as preached in Jesus Christ, precisely as revealed in the mystery kept secret for so long but now an open book through the prophetic Scriptures. All the nations of the world can now know the truth and be brought into obedient belief, carrying out the orders of God, who got all this started, down to the final detail.

Reason (PROMISE) #2 that we should CULTIVATE GOD CONFIDENCE is because HE WILL NEVER LET YOU BE PUSHED PAST YOUR LIMIT. To some of us that feel we have been through it-- wether mentally, physically, financially, emotionally-- this is an awesome promise to encourage us to not give up. 1 Corinthians 10:13 MSG “All you need to remember is that God will never let you down; he'll never let you be pushed past your limit; he'll always be there to help you come through it.”

Mark 4:1–20What can we learn? Is Jesus saying, only 1 in 4 get it or that the work is cut out for us? in other words we’ve got work to do.Reminds us that as Disciples we have the call to: prepare, plant, and water (1 Cor.3:6-9).6 I planted the seed, Apollos watered it, but God made it grow. 7 So neither he who plants nor he who waters is anything, but only God, who makes things grow. 8 The man who plants and the man who waters have one purpose, and each will be rewarded according to his own labor. 9 For we are God’s fellow workers; you are God’s field, God’s building. The seed is good!So what is the purpose of the seed? To Bear Fruit. What does it mean to bear fruit? What does fruit give us? Healthy lives, energy, refreshment, revitalizesWe’re not just to Bear Fruit but MUCH Fruit!John 15:8, This is to My Father’s glory, that you bear much fruit, showing yourselves to be My disciples.Fruit is KARPOS – action, posterity, of enduring value The soil is the issue. (Mark 4:13-20 MSG):**All of these soil types can be prepared/changed.Our tendency is to look at others, but first, you need to ask, which soil am I? (Luke 6:41-41, Mt 7:3-5 “Log in your own eye…”)1. Am I interested in what the seed is supposed to do in my life?2. What are we doing about it? {Us vs Others}PathAm I just going through the motions?Seed cannot germinate without planting, watering and good soil.RockyHow does it make me feel?Wrapped up in emotion as long as things are going well then it’s okay, but as soon as difficulty comes then they cut and run.ThornyWhat will it do for me?Just not giving God a chance to do the work.Ready (good soil) {that means someone else has already done the preparation – I’m trying to prepare soil} Conclusion:Is it possible that Jesus is telling us, think about what we are doing? Why we are doing? How we are doing? What’s our role? All of it is determined by Who we are doing this for.Which one are We?

I have no place to store my crops.’ 18 “Then he said, ‘This is what I’ll do. I will tear down my barns and build bigger ones, and there I will store my surplus grain. 19 And I’ll say to myself, “You have plenty of grain laid up for many years. Take life easy; eat, drink and be merry.“’ 20 “But God said to him, ‘You fool! This very night your life will be demanded from you. Then who will get what you have prepared for yourself?’ 21 “This is how it will be with whoever stores up things for themselves but is not rich toward God.” 1. You’re Rich! So Be “Rich” あなたはお金持ち!だから「リッチ」になって 1 Timothy 6:17-19 (NIV) 17 Command those who are rich in this present world not to be arrogant nor to put their hope in wealth, which is so uncertain, but to put their hope in God, who richly provides us with everything for our enjoyment. 18 Command them to do good, to be rich in good deeds, and to be generous and willing to share. 19 In this way they will lay up treasure for themselves as a firm foundation for the coming age, so that they may take hold of the life that is truly life. 2. Invest in Your True Home - Heaven 本当の家に投資してー天国に Philippians 3:18-20 (NIV) 18 For, as I have often told you before and now tell you again even with tears, many live as enemies of the cross of Christ. 19 Their destiny is destruction, their god is their stomach, and their glory is in their shame. Their mind is set on earthly things. 20 But our citizenship is in heaven. And we eagerly await a Savior from there, the Lord Jesus Christ, 3. Don’t Destroy Your Treasure あなたの宝を壊さないで Matthew 6:19-21 (NIV) 19 “Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moths and vermin destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. 20 But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moths and vermin do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal. 21 For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also. マタイ 6:19-21(ALIVE訳) 19 「財産を、この世に貯えるな。この世じゃあ価値はなくなり、盗まれる。 20 財産は天に貯えろ!天では、価値を失わず、盗まれる心配もない! 21 宝のありかは心のありか。 So How Can I Store Up Treasure In Heaven? じゃあどうやったら天国に宝を蓄えられるか? 1. Act Like A Steward, Not An Owner 執事のように行動する、主人のようにではなく 2. View Everything With an Eternal Perspective 永続的な見方で全てをみる 3. Be Intentional 意図的になる Matthew 24:14 (MSG) All during this time, the good news—the Message of the kingdom—will be preached all over the world, a witness staked out in every country. And then the end will come. マタイ 24:14(ALIVE訳) 14 そして俺が伝えた、神の王国についての最高の知らせが、全世界に広まる!その時こそが<この世が終わる日>だ。

In matters of generosity, most of us have seldom, if ever, given out of poverty. In other words, we have seldom known what it means to give away all we have, trusting that God will supply our future needs. Bill Clark explores the story in Mark 12:41-44 where Christ points out a model of a generous heart. A Model of a Generous Heart Unfinished | Week 3 February 18, 2018 | Bill Clark Mark 12:41-44 (NIV) Jesus sat down opposite the place where the offerings were put and watched the crowd putting their money into the temple treasury. Many rich people threw in large amounts. But a poor widow came and put in two very small copper coins, worth only a fraction of a penny. Calling his disciples to him Jesus said, "I tell you the truth, this poor widow has put more into the treasury than all the others. They all gave out of their wealth; but she, out of her poverty, put in everything - all she had to live on." Mark 12:44 (MSG) All the others gave what they'll never miss; she gave extravagantly what she couldn't afford - she gave her all.

The idea of an abundant life is an interesting one. Different translations try to capture the idea Jesus was expressing here. "… My purpose is to give them a rich and satisfying life." John 10:10 (NLT) "… I came that they may have and enjoy life, and have it in abundance (to the full, till it overflows)." John 10:10 (AMP) "…I came so they can have real and eternal life, more and better life than they ever dreamed of." John 10:10 (MSG)All in all, that sounds pretty good but what exactly does it mean?
