Shawn Olsten aka DJ Shawny-O has a brand new baby fresh out of the oven! He carved out some time to catch Kira up on what fatherhood has been like. (It's a great gig but you WILL get peed on) And OH MY LANTA don't get this man started on Disney princesses! He narrowed down which four princesses he deems worthy to be on the Mount Rushmore of Disney Princesses or as he calls it, "Mount Princessmore". He reached these results through methodical research and an in depth understanding of the background, motives, and character arcs of each princess. It's intense! And a little weird! Enjoy :) Thank you to our partner for this episode: MYROIsn't it time you got a deodorant that is pro you and pro planet? Kira has her first solo episode! She dives into what she has been consuming on Netflix. (spoiler alert: mostly content that contains Zac Efron's Belly button), she tells two of her favorite stories about being stolen from, AND she unpacks how she pulled a Marie Kondo but instead of decluttering shit in her house she got rid of some people in her life that were no longer serving her. Kira and Hassan went to high school together. Back then they didn't think they had much in common aside from a fiery passion for Pacsun and the band Brand New. But 15 YEARS LATER they connected on the pod and now it is clear they are kindred spirits. Hassan floated around in many circles in High School. He searched for people who would welcome an anxious Arab kid with IBS and a fondness for dick sandwiches with open arms. He lived what he felt like was a duel identity; an average American teenager during the week and a wicked Arab kid who would fast and pray on the weekends. Then after college, a traumatic event changed the trajectory of Hassan's life. He turned to drugs and alcohol to cope and had some pretty dark years. This gave him a ton of perspective and an incredible story to share. This episode is wild ride! Prepare to laugh, cry, and maybe even shart a little.Follow Hassan on Instagram @Hass.Rocks and Hass Ramadan on Facebook. I talk about reading a LOT. It’s a hobby of mine but it’s also an important tool I use in my Spiritual growth. Because I read a lot and talk about it a lot, I get a ton of questions about reading and the best ways to fit it into a busy homemaker’s schedule. I get it. It can be really hard to fit any reading time into your already too busy and too full schedule. But I want to encourage you to try and find a few minutes in your week to invest in a good book. Reading is so life giving and encouraging to me that I sorely miss it when I get out of the habit. Listen to the Podcast: Thanks for listening in today!
