On September 16, 2025, the world of entertainment lost a legend: Charles Robert Redford Jr. We all knew him simply as Robert Redford. An actor, director, and producer. A man who would start the Sundance Institute that would eventually launch a film festival in a little town of Park City, Utah that would change the filmmaking landscape for decades, and still does today. Corey and Freddy talk about the man, who was part of our lives in such a way and for so long, we felt like we knew him. We speak to the movies that moved us whether in front of the camera or behind it, to the unheard voices he raised through the Sundance Film Festival, that would launch the careers of today's household names like Steven Soderbergh and Quentin Tarantino. We hope you enjoy the all-too-brief chat about a man who made the difference with so many of our lives in our business. I had a flashback. What generated it was that I watched a video of a congress person telling his constituents that only the truly deserving should have access to free health care. Those that work are worthy. That is my understanding of what he said. I could be wrong. The example he gave was that a 28 year old person who refused to work. Once upon a time, I was truly ill. I had no savings. I owed bills. I couldn't work. The congress person would have deemed me unworthy. Just like the Department of Health and Human Services did with the removal of LGBTQ+ access to the 988 suicide hotline. In this episode, what has happened and alternative hotline options. Always Liked A Good Number 2 has mutated. This go-around, it's a commentary series of the first (and not so good) sequel of very successful movies. We're starting the whole off with a movie that has the largest gap of time between it and it's big brother: INDEPENDENCE DAY: RESURGENCE. Roland Emmerich and Dean Devlin have returned along with Jeff Goldblum, Bill Pullman, Vivica Fox, Sela Ward, and Brent Spiner. Joining the Old Guard is Liam Hemsworth, Micah Monroe, and Jessie Usher. From IMDB: Two decades after the first Independence Day invasion, Earth is faced with a new extra-Solar threat. But will mankind's new space defenses be enough? ENJOY! Next month, the Trump administration will end specialized support on the 988 national suicide prevention hotline for young LGBTQ+ callers — a group that has disproportionately high suicide rates. The administration said the hotline will “no longer silo LGB+ youth services,” omitting the “T” for transgender, and “focus on serving all help seekers.” KFF’s Lindsey Dawson joins John Yang to discuss.
