It's Friday the 13th, and we're covering a Friday the 13th movie. But we aren't basic here, so we're hitting you with the one that stands above all of the other 10 movies just for the sheer bonkersness of it all: JASON X. From IMDB: Jason Voorhees is cryogenically frozen at the beginning of the 21st century, and is discovered in the 25th century and taken to space. He gets thawed, and begins stalking and killing the crew of the spaceship that's transporting him. (This may be the longest logline of the entire franchise.) ENJOY! In 1997, David Fincher followed up Se7en with what may be his most intricately plotted story with The Game. Michael Douglas continued his time owning the 1990s with another high profile role in Nicholas Van Orton. Joining Douglas is Sean Penn, Deborah Kara Unger, and a supporting cast to drool over. From IMDB: A mysterious game invades a man's ordered existence. Alternate Ending

How do I become a better listener? Orly Israel has learned that human connection is the key to overcoming loneliness, strengthening communities, and changing lives. After years of volunteering in crisis hotlines, prisons, and shelters—and experiencing his own personal loss—he's made it his mission to help people listen, connect, and show up for one another. Now, Orly is using this experience to amplify his message. He continues to speak, teach, and create spaces for people to connect, ensuring that no one feels invisible and that support is always within reach. In episode 562, we find out why Orly decided on Syracuse University, how he lost everything in the LA fires, what he learned about young men by volunteering on a Suicide Hotline and Prison Program, What is The Listening Table, the best ways to form connections with potential new members on campus, how we can best retain our members in fraternities and sororities, how to become a better listener, how Warmline helped 500,000 people get support before they reach a crisis point, and Orly's advise to people who haven't been able to build a following or be consistent in their content creation. Navigating suffering, faith, and medical care can be challenging, especially when faced with life-altering illnesses or depression. In a world where suffering takes many forms, some struggles are outwardly visible, while others remain hidden. Depression is one such quiet suffering that can leave individuals feeling isolated and hopeless. In a recent conversation, Dr. Kathryn Butler, a trauma surgeon turned homeschool mom and author, shared her personal experience with depression and offered wisdom on how we can think about it biblically, encourage one another, and find hope in the darkness. Dr. Butler shares insights on the importance of caring for the whole person (body and soul), the role of faith in suffering, and how stories can bring clarity and hope in the midst of hard times. Whether you're grappling with personal struggles or supporting a loved one, this discussion offers encouragement, practical guidance, and a gospel-centered perspective on suffering and healing. Hear Bill's continued interview with Jeff Winton, Founder and CEO of the non-profit Rural Minds & Nikki Shaffer, Director of Occupational health and Wellness at Pfizer. It became obvious after the first segment that we had so much more to talk about in regards to mental health... so... we invited Jeff and Nikki back to share more information about how to recognize the signs of mental distress, how to best assist others, and perhaps even ourselves, as outside and perceived pressures seem to accelerate during the holiday season. One of the many takeaways from this discussion was the importance of seeking support from others. Encouraging individuals to reach out to friends, family members,and/or health professionals when stressful situations result in thoughts of suicide, or self harm. These feelings may be fleeting... or perhaps longer lasting...but help is always available. The new Suicide Hotline number is 988 and it will connect you to 24/7 assistance and support.Other facts that Jeff and Nikkii shared with us are "triggers", sometimes associated with depression during the holiday season, and how to plan and cope with these seasonal occurrences. Effective measures of prioritizing self-care to control these feelings include getting enough sleep, engaging in regular physical exercise, practicing relaxation techniques like deep breathing and meditation, and maintaining a healthy diet. In an idealistic world, the holiday season is a time of joy, happiness, and harmonious family gatherings. If someone is struggling during this time of year, we should encourage them to engage in healthy coping mechanisms, such as engaging in hobbies or activities they enjoy and just be there for them. One of the last topics we covered is the importance of pets in the equation. If you are reading this and you have a dog, cat, bird, or any other pet...you know exactly what we mean. There is something soothing about having a "pal" that loves you unconditionally:) Thank you once again, Jeff and Nikki for your incredible insight into a topic which is so important to us all. Welcome to Revive Ministries Podcast. This month marks a new year for those listening today, which may mean several things entering into 2025, including healing. I ask the question, am I allowed to take steps to get better? Welcome to Revive Ministries Podcast. This month's theme is “Remembering Our Story, Finding Hope,” which can be a positive step toward reminding ourselves of what we have endured and learned. As we head closer to the end of the year, we may find the temptation to compare our lives generally to the lives around us. From my experience, this only discredits the experiences one has faced and can make it harder to remember the lessons we may have endured. This time of year can be a hard time for many people, as we may reflect on those who are no longer with us today. This month I would like to encourage those who are struggling around this time of year to find a community to connect with. If you are in need, please ask for help. A Note from James:You know, I first had Chris Voss on in 2016. Out of the 1500+ podcasts I've done, his is one of the few where I've really followed all the advice. His book Never Split the Difference wasn't just any negotiating book—it's a survival guide for life, built from his time as the FBI's lead hostage negotiator. And trust me, if you're going to take advice from anyone on negotiation, take it from Chris. His tactics don't just work in life-or-death situations—they work in everyday business, personal relationships, and everything in between.Today, Chris is back on the show for the third time. We talk about his documentary Tactical Empathy, available on Amazon Prime, and what makes a truly great negotiator. Trust me, whether you're selling a company or just trying to ask for a raise, you're going to want to listen closely to this one. Negotiation isn't just a skill—it's a way of life, and you'll learn why here.Episode Description:In this episode, James sits down with negotiation expert Chris Voss to dig into the real secrets behind successful negotiating.
