Special guest Cory Woodroof fittingly sits in the third chair this week for our review of On the Count of Three, a dark...buddy comedy? No, that's not quite right. But it is an indie dramedy (maybe?) directed by Jerrod Carmichael in his feature debut. He also stars with Christopher Abbot in this Sundance favorite about two friends who decide today will be the last day of their lives. The film also stars Tiffany Haddish, J. B. Smoove, Lavell Crawford, and Henry Winkler. Late in 2021, CBS brought back the wildly popular Kids Say the Darndest Things. It's a simple show. Put a bunch of cute kids in a room and let the great Tiffany Haddish ask them questions. Hilarity always ensues. If the show fails, we have an idea for the next reboot. Instead of putting a bunch of kids in a room, just put a bunch of bosses in a room. We promise that hilarity will ensue. Why? Because kids aren't the only ones who say the darndest things. Bosses do too. On this episode of HTL, Adam & Clay unpack one (of many) confusing things bosses say. Do you have a confusing thing your boss often says? Please shoot us an email: info@howtolead.work

Over the last few years, Nicolas Cage seems to have made a comeback, and today's movie seems to embody everything we love about the actor. Tuning in you'll hear about the setup of this action-packed comedy film in which Nicolas Cage plays himself caught between a super fan (played by Pedro Pascal) and a CIA agent (played by Tiffany Haddish), with plenty of references to some of our favourite Nicolas Cage films. In this episode, we discuss why it's so refreshing to see an actor play himself in this way and not take himself too seriously and how Will Smith could probably benefit from doing something similar in light of the recent incident with Chris Rock. You'll hear about some of our favourite scenes, why the third act fell short, the film's similarity to Tropic Thunder and how the friendship between Nicolas Cage and Javier forms the heart and soul of this film. You'll hear a breakdown of some of the most enjoyable things about this film from the trivia to the intensity of some of the scenes, the character of Nicolas Cage's alter-ego and even a great deal of appreciation for his hairline. To find out why The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent is the perfect tribute to any super fan of Nicolas Cage and which movies you may want to rewatch before you see it, tune in today! Hey! Who doesn't love a movie with not one, but two Nick Cages! Or, is it actually three, or four, Nick Cages? Plus, action, romance, and bromance. This movie has it all. Including someone's golden guns.
This week, Mike and Mike are getting back in the Cage to talk about a movie that sort of feels like the culmination of everything this podcast has been building towards. Nicolas Cage is back (not that he went anywhere) in the new meta action-comedy THE UNBEARABLE WEIGHT OF MASSIVE TALENT, in which Cage plays a fictionalized version of himself who strikes up a friendship with a billionaire played by Pedro Pascal... and gets roped into some CIA antics along the way. There are tons of references to Cage's entire career in this one, so we're going to break them down right here. Also starring Tiffany Haddish, Ike Barinholtz, Neil Patrick Harris, Sharon Horgan, Lily Sheen, and more!
Do Nick Cage and Pedro Pascal have a bromance for the ages?? We discuss in this Nerdin Out Nugget.

With The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent in cinemas now - seeing Nicolas Cage play 'Nick Cage' in a meta action comedy with Tiffany Haddish and Pedro Pascal - what better time to revisit the great man's back catalogue than now, eh? Listen to Ali talk to fellow Cageophile Kambole Campbell about 1997's finest John Woo face-swapping actioner, somehow without swearing or being too offensively graphic. We hope.
Seth takes a closer look at Piers Morgan debuting a trailer for an interview he claims Donald Trump angrily walked out of and Rudy Giuliani's appearance on The Masked Singer. Then, Tiffany Haddish talks about her dating requirements, her children's book Layla, the Last Black Unicorn and the real reason she accepted her role in The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent.See Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.
In the action comedy The Unbearable Weight Of Massive Talent, Nicolas Cage plays a fictionalized Nicolas Cage. This down-on-his-luck version of the actor must get out of a jam after he is offered a million dollars to attend the birthday party of a potentially deadly superfan, played by Pedro Pascal. Also starring Tiffany Haddish, Ike Barinholtz and Sharon Horgan, the movie gets meta as it draws heavily on the Cage's career and long history of eccentric performances. I'm sharing a special preview of A Slight Change of Plans, a podcast all about who we are and who we become in the face of change. Dr. Maya Shankar is a cognitive scientist who is an expert on human behavior, and she's here to help us navigate the changes we all experience in our lives. She sits in intimate conversations with celebrity guests like Tiffany Haddish and Kacey Musgraves as well as everyday inspirations, like journalist Euna Lee, who was held captive in North Korea for 140 days, and Doctor Richard Harris, who rescued a boy's soccer team trapped deep in a cave in Thailand. You'll also meet change experts — including leading grief therapist Julia Samuel, psychologist Adam Grant, and author Michael Pollan— whose scientific insights will help us make better decisions and live happier, more fulfilling lives. In this preview, you'll hear Maya in conversation with Christine Ha, the first blind contestant and winner of the reality TV show MasterChef. Christine talks about losing her vision and how she had to re-learn how to navigate many aspects of her life, including her passion — cooking.
