Humans have needs, and cravings, and desires. Sometimes, they all align — like when my need for food matches my desire and craving for a spicy burrito. In business, you have to be in tune to your customers' needs, cravings, and desires, and meet them as much as possible. These days, across the board but especially in the QSR space, the consumers are craving better loyalty programs and more personalized experiences in every interaction with a brand. Zip Allen recognizes that, and as the Chief Digital Officer for Taco Bell, she's satisfying those cravings. Yes, there are spicy burritos involved, but there are also unique spins on customer loyalty programs, a new subscription service for tacos, and an app experience that makes getting those spicy burritos — or whatever you're in the mood for — a friction-free experience. We got into all of that on this episode of Up Next in Commerce and it was a delicious discussion. Enjoy!Main Takeaways:Customizing the Experience: It alIt all comes down to digital when it comes to customizing the customer experience. On digital platforms, you can more easily engage with and learn about your customers, and deliver to them a seamless experience so you can get them what they need when and where they want it. Lean into all the digital tools in your toolbox and don't be afraid to experiment with some new ideas to engage with customers through apps, subscriptions, or loyalty program challenges. What do the Customers Really Want: To find out what customers want, go where they actually are, and then listen. Hang out on Twitter, find the Reddit threads where the fans of your brand congregate, and ingratiate yourself in that community. Not only will you get a better understanding of who your customers are, but you will be able to spot areas of friction as they come up and source new ideas for your brand from the consumers themselves.Scoring More Than Points: With loyalty programs, you have to think beyond just giving points to redeem for free products Build out exclusive offerings, unique experiences, and ways to add value and delight to your customers' day that proves that you actually know and value them. For an in-depth look at this episode, check out the full transcript below. Is the future of the creator economy and influencer marketing in subscription based content? If you read the tea leaves in the industry, one may think so. Content creators face potential problems when they put all their content and audience eggs in someone else's basket. If the Instagram servers go berserk one day, some content creators will take a hit in revenue. If the rules on TikTok or YouTube suddenly change, we'll … influencers may S-O-L. Brands are also starting to value creators and influencers that have stronger relationships with, and thus influence over, their audience. What that means is an influencer with a big email marketing list, or captive on a podcast, is more valuable than someone who just has a social media following that may or may not see a sponsored post fly by in their streams. Subscription platforms offer content creators both a way to connect directly with their audience, building a following tied to email addresses and more rich contact information, but also to derive direct revenue from their fans. Instead of following your favorite Instagrammer there, you pay a subscription fee of, let's say $5 a month on a subscription platform, and you get exclusive access to the influencer's content and maybe the influencer. The most well-known of these platform is OnlyFans. But it is most well known for being a popular subscription platform used by adult content creators, so there is bit of a stigma there. Fortunately, there are other options. One of them is FanBase. Its chief technology officer Ramiro Cánovas, joined me recently to talk about the future of the creator economy. The challenged posed to creators by the existing social networks and influencer ecosystem, and the opportunity for content creators to create more direct revenue streams and genuine connections with their fans. As you can imagine, I geeked out with Ramiro a bit. It didn't help that he's also a former professional soccer player, so we started off talking about some connections we have through the beautiful game. Many CPAs struggle with pricing. Some have moved to flat rate or subscription pricing, and many still work by the hour. Subscription of course is a hot topic. But for many CPAs, that business model feels too far out of reach and too theoretical to be able to put it into play in their business anytime soon. But if they don't make the transition, they risk missing out. Here today to talk with me about the subscription business model is my guest Mark Stiving. Mark is a pricing educator and advisor. He's the host of the Impact Pricing podcast and the author of Win Keep Grow, among other books. Mark helps companies win more business at higher prices. Highlights: — “To make the shift from the traditional transactional model to the subscription model, you have to figure out how you can add value to a customer on a regular basis.” — “A customer who frequently receives value from your product or your service is much more willing to offer to pay you as a subscription because they're paying you for the ongoing value they receive.” — “Accountants and CPAs who want to bring subscription into their business need to really understand what the stream of benefits could be beyond just the delivery of month-end deliverables.” — “One of the big advantages of subscriptions is it's less expensive to get into and try a new service or a new product.” — “Accountants and other business owners need to talk to their customers on a regular basis and try to find out what problems they're dealing with, and what solutions they want.” Connect with MARK: Website: https://impactpricing.com/ LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/stiving/ Email: email@example.com Past Episodes: 125 Value and Segmented Pricing for CPAs https://www.businessstrategyforcpas.com/125 153 A Formula for Quantifying Value https://businessstrategyforcpas.com/153 Mark's Books: Win Keep Grow: How to Price and Package to Accelerate Your Subscription Business https://impactpricing.com/resources/books/ Impact Pricing: Your Blueprint for Driving Profits https://impactpricing.com/resources/books/ ***Want one piece of business strategy delivered daily to your inbox?*** Subscribe here: https://www.shethinksbigcoaching.com/subscribe-main-list

They discuss the science behind how a "low energy state," which can be induced by a period of fasting, combats aging and promotes health. They also walk through research that points to the benefits of a mostly plant-based diet for slowing aging and offer key insights into when to eat and what to eat to maximize longevity. In this episode, Dr. David Sinclair and co-host Matthew LaPlante discuss why we age. In doing so, they discuss organisms that have extreme longevity, the genes that control aging (mTOR, AMPK, Sirtuins), the role of sirtuin proteins as epigenetic regulators of aging, the process of "ex-differentiation" in which cells begin to lose their identity, and how all of this makes up the "Information Theory of Aging", and the difference between "biological age" and "chronological age" and how we can measure biological age through DNA methylation clocks. 0:05 Good evening and welcome to my humble podcast bold I am Cocoa Griot, just a 50 something who is so excited to talk to you dear listener about life love, and a plethora of other topics. I don't know about you but every month when I look at my credit card bill, I examine the number of subscriptions that I have like subscriptions to Netflix and I think about how am I ever going to let these things go? Then I remember the reason that I get these services is because of the way they are finite in my mind. I don't think I'm going to be paying for Netflix forever. There's a kind of temporariness to the relationship between me and the company I'm subscribed to. So that started me thinking about how love is today when everybody is swiping to shop for love like you shop for a premium video streaming service or you shop for your groceries through a delivery service. Does love deserve more than what we give to our subscription services? 01:25 Tonight I want to ask a question, is it time to cancel the subscription mentality of love? The reason I believe we have a subscription mentality of love is based on three aspects of the current mindset about relationships. Number one, when you are shopping for love, you are making comparisons between people to say what amenities do I get over here as opposed to getting over there? Now that's fine when you talk about a video streaming service or even how you're going to get your groceries, but are we really being fair to ourselves if we are searching for love that way? Now I'm not knocking online dating if that's your thing, my personal experience with it has not been that great, but I am a 50 something so that might account for the slim pickings that I had to go through. But all kidding aside, I really do wonder if in our mind when we go through these catalogs of men or women or whatever we're shopping for, we just think this is not necessarily Mr. or Mrs. Right, but Mr. and Mrs. Right now until I'm offered a better deal. And it really concerns me because I think we sell ourselves short and relationships short because we're so hung up on this fear of missing out. This FOMO mental battle of if I go with Choice a choice B might come along and there's probably more of that for me than I'm going to get with Choice a. That is like comparing what's on Netflix and Hulu and deciding who you're going to go with based on the offerings of that particular subscription service. 02:32 Another way that I truly believe we are treating love like a subscription service is when it comes to commitment. Now what I said in the last Point kind of addresses it but I want to drill down even more. Someone told me that do you know you can look at marriage or marriages as just a series of events that you participate in your lifetime? I sat back and thought about that and I said there was nothing in my marriage vows that said until you feel like flipping to another Channel go ahead and focus on this channel. But that was kind of the equivalent of it. In other words when you get bored with this program, just call up another program. Call up another service and you're good. That is not how I view marriage. The vows are pretty clear if you choose to take them. In sickness and health And for richer or poorer really means something to me. I can't look at marriage as just an event I attended because it was something to do at the time. It's deeper for me than that. It means connecting with another individual and being there for one another throughout all of life's challenges no matter what comes along. Nothing could have prepared me for what happened in the end before my husband passed away. I had no idea that I will be changing his diapers before he left this planet. But I did that because of those words in sickness and in health and I also knew that if the shoe was on the other foot he wouldn't hesitate to do the same thing for me. We have to know that who we couple ourselves with is not just with us for who we are...
Despite the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic, followers of Jesus Christ, Son of God, must never lose hope because they have Christ in their lives. Unbelievers, on the other hand, have so much to fear: not only do they have to contend with the emptiness in their hearts, they have to fear ending up in the lake of fire. Today's broadcast calls on believers to stop listening to those end-of-year and new year prophecies given by their attention-seeking pastors and general overseers. Furthermore, the broadcast pleads with all unbelievers in the world to repent of their sins and to accept Jesus Christ as Saviour and Lord. ——— Are you aware that you can watch more than 100 videos (videos you can share, use in Sunday schools, teach others, and evangelize) in high definition on our YouTube channel? Series Introduction Recently, I have been posting why Redemption Hill Church is confessional. The term confessional has lost its luster over the last 100 years, but prior, most churches held to a Confession of Faith. I attempt to show in these blog posts the value of confessions and why a local church should be confessional. This blog is part 3 of 4. These four blogs on confessionalism are about: The Nature of ConfessionalismThe Parameters of ConfessionalismA Vision of ConfessionalismSubscription to a Confession If you are new to confessionalism, or the term is foreign, that’s ok. The purpose of cornfieldtheology.com is to introduce people to new concepts, terms, and theological ideas. These four blogs on confessionalism have been adapted from a paper I submitted to the elders of Trinity Fellowship Churches in preparation for Theology Day before our General Assembly. This fourth blog post is on subscription to a confession of faith. If a local church pastor is a part of a denomination that holds to a Confession of Faith, then to what degree is the confession affirmed, taught, and defended? Subscription to our Confession In confessional denominations, one of the most debated issues is about subscription. But what is subscription? Merriam-Webster offers a helpful definition. Subscription is the “act of signing one’s name (as in attesting or witnessing a document).” And it is “the acceptance (as of ecclesiastical articles of faith) attested by the signing of one’s name.” Here is the question at hand: To what degree should an elder or eldership subscribe to a denomination’s Confession of Faith? A too loose subscription will result in a confession being rendered useless. What is the point of ascribing to a confession or statement of faith if you are unwilling to affirm, teach, and defend it? There will not be unity but pragmatism in a local church and across a denomination. But, the aim of a collection of churches is to be united on doctrine. As I have said in previous blogs on confessionalism, uniting around a person is unstainable. Trying to unite around a methodology will not last. Uniting around a vision is great until the vision changes, and not everyone is on board with the change. Uniting around culture has the potential to be toxic. But uniting around truth can last generations. Uniting with truth means churches in a denomination should strive for a subscription where an exc

Welcome to 2022! Can you believe it!?! We're already entering a new year full of possibilities. One of the goals we typically may set for ourselves or family in this season of fresh change revolves around our finances. Over the holiday's the amount of advertisements trying to sell you and I on yet one more subscription was too many to count. What I also noticed was that one company (well, there's actually many, but this one caught my eye) that is trying to help people "manage their subscriptions" was TrueBill.com. [Note: They are not a sponsor of our podcast or any of our publications nor a paid endorsement at the time of the airing of this episode]. But with a new year and a fresh look at our finances we all might be thinking about certain subscriptions in our lives that we've signed up for and just don't use any more. Years ago I called this a "subscription purge" and was criticized for even bringing up the topic of unwanted subscriptions and that there would come a time each year or by each individual or household that we would go through our finances and purge and cancel unwanted subscriptions in our lives. One subscription that I would not want to cancel personally would be the subscription I pay to my Physician whom I adore. These are called Concierge Medicine and Direct Primary Care Doctors. They operate on a subscription (eg. annual, quarterly or monthly billing cycles) and have a unique healthcare delivery subscription billing and service offering. If you don't know much about them, there are a lot of resources out there but we recommend www.ConciergeMedicineToday.org and www.DirectPrimaryCare.com for starters. Additionally, we found these resources on the topic of subscriptions and cancelling the subscriptions in our lives helpful as reference articles. The stories about Jesus Christ as narrated by many denominations, organizations, and groups have little or no resemblance to the story of Jesus Christ, the Son of God. The reason: The extinct Roman Empire and the then church in Rome had adulterated the story with Roman paganism. Then, after the fall of the Roman Empire, emerging European nations added their own paganistic cultures to the already adulterated story. Knowing all the above, it behooves whoever desires to inherit eternal life to know, embody and tell the true story of Jesus Christ, one shorn of cultural influences and paganistic customs. ——— Are you aware that you can watch more than 100 videos (videos you can share, use in Sunday schools, teach others, and evangelize) in high definition on our YouTube channel? ***Want one piece of business strategy delivered daily to your inbox?*** Subscribe here: https://www.shethinksbigcoaching.com/subscribe-main-list Subscription is all the rage in software and in other industries, but the accounting industry is hardly speedy on the uptake. While the value appears to be there, something - or perhaps many things - are in the way of accountants and CPAs making the shift to the subscription pricing model. Here today to talk with me about this challenge is my guest, John Warrillow. John is the founder of The Value Builder System, a practice management software for business advisors. He is also the author of the best-selling book Built to Sell, The Automatic Customer, and The Art of Selling Your Business. He is the host of Built to Sell Radio, which was recognized by Forbes as one of the 10 best podcasts for business owners. Highlights: — “Recurring revenue makes your business more predictable, and that allows you to build a much more efficient firm.” — “Once somebody subscribes to your firm, not only do you get the recurring revenue associated with that subscription, but it makes your customers more likely to buy other things from you.” — “There's no way you can serve all your customers with one subscription model. Instead, what you want to do is segment first.” — “You hire salespeople to sell your product or your service. Your job (as the business owner) is to sell your firm.” — “Scarcity gives people a bit of a nudge towards decision-making. It makes them get over the classic challenge of any subscription, that if it's a subscription, it's always available.” Download the PDF for this episode: 9 Subscription Models eBook - http://builttosell.com/carter Connect with JOHN: Website: https://builttosell.com/

On this week's episode of IGN's weekly PlayStation show, Podcast Beyond! episode 728, host Jonathon Dornbush is joined by Jada Griffin and Mark Medina to discuss what's up with PlayStation's alleged new subscription plans, and what they might mean for PS4 and PS5 owners next year. The trio discusses the reported new details of the alleged three-tier program, which would offer combinations of PlayStation Plus, PlayStation now, and new features, including allegedly demos, game streaming, and back catalogs of PS1, PS2, PS3, and PSP games. The cast dives into what we would want from such a subscription plan, if we think PS4 and PS5 first-party exclusives would launch into such a service, and how generally the offerings, as we know them, would compare both to Microsoft and Xbox's Game Pass and Nintendo's Switch Online subscription services. Plus, the cast also digs into the recent news in the world of PS4 and PS5, including Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves collection's release date, some quick Game Awards predictions, and much more.
